Modern "boutique" feel to decor & rooms. Central location. Decent leisure facilities. Buffet breakfast was a bit old-fashioned and not in keeping with quality of hotel.
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was first class.
Staff were exceptional, service excellent. Standard of toiletries in a five star hotel was not as good as I expected.Shower was not great.
Nice setting and location, good breakfast and friendly staff. Needs investment certain things looking old now, my first stay years ago was very impressive it seems more like a 4 star now and the little touches aren't there like before.
Loved the location in Central Manchester. Made it very easy to get around. Opus bar was fabulous and the staff was incredibly accommodating. Room was lovely and made for a great experience.
We were made very welcome during our stay and nothing was too much trouble. -
All the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was fantastic with everything we needed
cleanliness, attentiveness of staff when required, decor, closeness for requirements of city shops and arena for concert pool change area is small, there was a hen party there for the day getting treatments in the spa and there were no lockers available so we had to take everything into the pool area! Lifts were a problem- a number of us (guests) had encoutered room cards that didn't work in lifts- my mother who I was travelling with hates lifts and we got stuck!
Clean, comfortable and convenient
the hotel was lovely and the room very comfortable with lovely facilities we were on room only as that was the special rate we got but we didn't have breakfast as it was far too expensive
The cleansers were super nice people Dear Madame. Because of your totally unacceptable behaviour, to our Guests and Staff, we will no longer be accepting any further bookings from you, and indeed you are not welcome at all in this Hotel . No further correspondence from yourself, will be responded to from Edwardian Hotels. Stephen Miles FIH MI General Manager T: +44 (0) 161 835 8957 M: +44 (0) 797 3128852 E: email@example.com W: edwardian.com We booked a suit got there realized it was small, stayed 2 nights and took an extra room.Day 3 we booked a two bedroom suit which really isn't it's just them bringing two rooms together. We were shown a suit with a balcony & since my artist is super claustrophobic and has a lot of luggage we agreed to that.Upon going to pay they claimed someone booked that particular room for 2 nights and we booked it right with them less than an hr ago for 3 nights. These super racist hotel people just because the person was black almost even lied they never showed us the room.We left the hotel and booked a huge 3 bedroom penthouse suit somewhere else.Mind u we had no issues we these people we just decided to leave after realizing it was more of a racist thing, I forgot to mention their services suck, they barely help with anything like umbrellas and opening doors smh we never even had a conversation with any one except the manager the day we left but go this email today claiming we were rude to their guests.
I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The Hotel itself is in a wonderful location for shopping.
the receptionist Kirsty was excellent.
Clean rooms and courteous staff
Beautiful building, with a very grand reception area, good customer service in the bar and bedrooms very clean and comfortable. In the hallways there are pictures/collages of interesting facts about the hotel history. Not very personal (boutique style) more corporate style of hotel.
Completely comfoprtable and centrally located. Large room. Prices in Britain are high -- that is a fact of life -- and the Midland is expensive -- but I really am not complaining. It was proably the most comfortable hotel we stayed at in a 3 week visit to the UK.
I have stayed here several times, excellent location, top class facilities. only minor fault is prices in bar, but I guess this has to be expected given the location / hotel
ther was noise from the next room after midnight and it took two phone calls to reception before the noise was stopped.
Central location and beautiful christmas decorations Being unable to open a window for health and safety reasons. Air conditioning is noisy, un green and not as good as fresh air at night.
Great location, beautifully renovated old building great Q hotels standard and very welcoming, highly trained staff that gave you service with a smile nothing was too much trouble we certainly were very well looked after during our stay Thankyou hotel did not accept our booking for dinner at £25 rate as advertised by yourselves but after staying there we realised this was probably due to the hotel being very busy that weekend with private functions other than this we had no complaints at all
the room was amazing the price of swimming costumes was too expensive
Luxurious room, furnishings and curtains etc.
The bar/restuarant Being woke at 3am due to rail works directly outside my bedroom window
Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Old fashioned tv. Very few luxuries in the bedroom/bathroom.No shower cap or hair conditioner for my wife. A little disapointed with the breakfast set up in the morning. We normally have one person waiting table but that didnt happen, just people wandering around.
I liked the lay out of the room and the hotel is nice. Perfect location. Its 2014, u can offer free WiFi. 99% of hotels do
beautifull building, restaurant and reception very beautifull, good location bad aisles, labyrinth to reach the room, room old fashion
the building and public areas and the function i attended at the hotel 2 days before my stay i received a call from the hotel cancelling my reservation for myself and my 6 guests due to overbooking. after a lot of difficult conversations my reservation was reinstated the next day. This is completely unnaceptable and caused a lot of concern
Fantastic location! Loved the look and history. Loved the age of the hotel. Breakfast on site was a plus. Good selection, easy and started the day off right. The booked us in an ADA room and that was all they had. The room was spacious and bed was comfortable but the shower was awful and the sink was too low if you stand at it. I felt terrible taking a very well equipped ADA room and it was not super comfortable for tow very tall adults.
The room was very impressive and comfortable. Also, there was a lot on offer for breakfast.
most comfortable bed i have ever slept in! successful fusion of old an new styles.. the sink was blocked and i forgot to tell them - room 203
The staff were quietly efficient and helpful. Found traffic noise a little overbearing. Booking my meal on line proved not to be value for money as our meal was less that that stated on line, but we still had to pay original price.
the fact west ham won at old trafford ! jokes apart the service and freindly approach of all the staff no
It was such a refreshing change to stay at a hotel where the attitude of the staff enhanced the stay. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful which is unfortunately not the case in most hotels.
The Cloud Lounge I was rather cold in the room, and we could hear the lift going up and down during the night.
The views were spectacular. We could have spent the whole stay in the Cloud 23 bar. And every member of staff that we met were wonderful.
when staying at the hotel my boyfriend and i really enjoyed are selfs we went for my birthday and everyone at the hotel treated us like royalty and there nothing they didnt do for us! they made my birthday very special and memerable!! i would definatly recommed it to any one!
The room we were given was a room for the disabled, guessing that's why the room rate was better than the Hilton's web site price.
The location is good for city centre bars and restaurants but it is easy to access from the motorway and parking is easy nearby I paid 249 pounds for one night in what I thought would be a luxury, exclusive hotel and it isn't. The room service breakfast was an insult.
locatio and comfort my partner found on returning home , that some braceletts and bangles were missing from her bag . we did not complain as they were not of a great monetary value , but my [partner found this upsetting !!!! .
very good hotel with perfect location specially if you have conference in Manchester Central there is no extending for the check out time
We recieved a complimentary upgrade to executive class, which was fantastic as this was a Chritmas treat. Just a small quible but there were no tea making facilities in our room.
Superb hotel, amazing rooms No
Room v. clean and comfortable, quiet and roomy. Breakfast excellent. Reception was busy and a little slow but staff were friendly.
My stay was for 4 nights, Beds were super comfortable, staff was superb and rooms were spacious.
Friendly Staff, good location generaly a very nice Hotel Eat Out
the location was very good and within walking distance to the shops and the tram if you need to travel further, staff were helpful and the bar in the hotel was good and lively i felt our room was quite small
Perfect location to stroll into the city.
The modern interior to a old building. The location of the hotel was perfect, next to China Town. When we got to our room, someone else's luggage was there. However, going to reception thinking we had someone else's room, they took the bags away swiftly.
Obsidian bar and menu No parking
The location can't be beat-. Close to shipping, bars and the Christmas markets. Could not have been happier with my choice. As a major plus, the staff was amazingly helpful.
friendly helpful staff, lovely rooms and very comfortable beds! very central for china town nothing
Very friendly reception staff and the beds were great.
The parking facillities/costs
Reasonably good hotel in a good city centre location A little noisy at night, lacks a nice lounge or somewhere really relaxing for a seat a drink and a chat with friends.
Game Old Trafford No
It was an enjoyable weekend. The bar man on Friday/Saturday & Sunday Night was outstanding.
Yes I just wish it was cheaper so I could have ate a breakfast and I also wish it could have been kept on longer as drinking the night before and early breakfasts are just not supoosed to fit together. So to sum it up, I think the cost of the brekkie should be included in the main price I payed and it should be untill at least 11:00am finish on a weekday.
Everything! The hotel is in a great location, the staff are friendly and helpful and hotel was clean, comfortable and very up-to-date.
excellent service, promt checking in and out and very friendly staff no
Location and quality of internal fixtures & fittings External appearance is awful and rooms bear little resemblence to photos on the website - very small. Whole of one window covered by a Roomzzzzzz advertising screen!
The layout of the rooms were excellent Friendly staff, location in the city and siz of room
Location tops the staff were welcoming and helpful the room was of a high boutique standard. I paid £75 for a room I would gladly have paid double that amount for. Just one niggle traffic noise but what do you expect in a city centre.
Very modern, staff friendly, very clean, comfy king size beds ! Check in time on website is different to check in time when you arrive, so we had to wander around manchester for a while as the room wasn't ready, however the staff rectified this with a complimentary car parking ticket !! bonus !!
very close to the china town, and the room is big, the service is really very friendly.
Well equipped rooms , friendly staff , great location , just wished I had more time to enjoy it !!
The room, the furniture and the Internet I would not consider the so called breakfast they offered as a breakfast, there were only serving croissants, apples and banans and there were no plates!
Loved the i-mac in the room and the fast, easy access to the internet with built in dvd player. I thought I had booked room-only, so was pleased to discover the continental breakfasts. The decor of the room was modern and it felt light and bright - with a fantastic shower. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful at all times. There is very easy access to the city centre - most attractions are within walking distance, and the complimentary city centre bus stops very close to the hotel for connections to Picadilly Station and Salford. The noise from the road, but I don't suppose there is much you can do about that. It's the price paid for staying somewhere so central.
The location was perfect, minutes walk from shops, bars etc. The room was clean and everything we needed for a weekend break, however the carpet was stained in places. A full length mirror and a few more hooks in the bathroom would be a bonus for us girlies!!!
Rooms were spotless and very well designed. Great to have a kitchen in your room as it gives you the option of doing your own food or eating out. I had to leave
Perfectly located for the Bridgewater Hall Concert venue Lack of suitable food availabilty after the concert finished at 2200
TV in the Bar was to loud, for thise who don't watch football.
comfortable, value for money and very clean. very good location
distance from town center
Very clean tidy , friendly helpful staff ,really enjoyed our stay will come back. no parking on site.
friendliness of the staff needed more milk with the tea.coffee etc-but apparently we could have asked at reception
Staff were good and attentive The room was very very basic and clinical not at all welcoming
nice bar to have a drink and relax in after your return from whatever you have done in the city that night great opening hours. rooms a bit dated.
The Bar and the food was nice The man behind the reception i had a women when i was checking in and she was real nice
Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and well equipped. The shower was fixed to the wall. There was no herbal tea offered in the room.
Very clean, very-very hospitable and reliable staff small rooms, no electric adaptors
The room was clean and modern. The situation was exactly where I expected it to be A negative comment is surely a complaint?. What I didn't like was the poor organisation and communication.
Location. Ear plugs can be handy if you want a quiet night sleep.
Location Air conditioning was broken entire stay
Room was clean and nice.good location. Elevator did not work, with my bad knees Ihad to climb up and down five floors.
The room we were given was triangular, and thus very uncomfortable, especially in view of the fact that we were staying five nights.
Excellent location and the breakfast was good. They ignored my e-mail request for slightly early check-in and the lady behind the counter was rude.
Very clean and plesant hotel None
very clean and comfortable room with good en suite facilities comfortable bed and good and sustaining breakfast. very noisy being situated ear a late night bar.
Cleanliness and decor Breakfast selection and layout
The staff were very polite and efficient. The shower was a lovely modern shower and the room was very clean and spacious. I have no bad points to report.
Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. Place is convenient--with train station just nextdoor and within walking distance to town.
Poor check in
Staff at check in were friendly Room was large and clean Good WiFi Automated check in did not work Long wait at check in Asked to pay for meal and drink up front in the bar. When I pointed out that I might have a second drink and asked for the bill to be left open until end of meal, I was still asked to pay up front. Very expensive for the quality of the hotel
Friendly courteous helpful staff, very clean Television signal very poor, bath tap very stiff to turn on - I had to ask for assistance
Great location, very good staff Only one, the newspaper had to be collected from reception, in other hotels it would be hung on the door if too big to slide under the door
Very clean and comfortable None
The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent. Nothing. It did exactly what it said on the tin!
Free car park Rooms near stairwells / lifts very noisy. bar prices excessive
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The restaurant was very good and we took advantage of the meal deal, A 3 course meal with a drink and breakfast for 21 pounds. The bar closes at 11pm so if you have been out to see a show and want a nightcap have one before you return to the hotel.
General condition of room poor why were there 2 staff at desk without uniform management
Car parking facilities and accessibilty of tram and bus services Lots of uncleared tables at breakfast, which seemed to be due to unstaffing
Helpful Staff Noisy
Easy to find Bar/Restraunt staff were vague unattentive and prone to make mistakes, forget to bring orders etc. waiting in queue to be seated for breakfast and left standing there even though they knew you were there. very poor customer service.
We wont stay anywhere else now after a bad experience at the Hilton - its the Premier every time for us now! You know exactly what to expect. I think we had to ask for an extra towel - no big deal!
Helpful staff. Nice, quiet rooms. Very comfortable bed. None
The breakfast very plentiful. The security system. The many corridors and doors to negotiate to and from our room. Difficult when transporting luggage, and when in a hurry
24 hour services and reception. simple room but with the facilites you need. good value for money near to city centre noise a problem rooms amplify rather than dampen noise and one was very aware of people coming back late at night
Friendly staff, clean rooms Next we will stay at the Ibis nearer the centre.
Clean and tidy with good parking facilities opposite the hotel Bedrooms are quite compact and basic. No encouragement to stay in any longer than necessary.
Efficient and pleasant staff, convenient and relatively quiet hotel. Near by parking. Good breakfast. Overall very good value. None
Very clean and comfortable; the staff were all friendly, courteous and competent. Room was stuffy without the window open - air re-circulating machine didn't work very well.
Location for the University is excellent. Cleanliness of room was good. Quality of cooked breakfast on offer was very poor. Internet is overpriced for a now easily installable and maintainable facility. Should be included or low cost.
Everything was adequate for our needs that evening. Ther was a lot of noise, all night. A hen party or similar group of girls were obviously close by and spent all night wandering/running along the corridor, laughing, shouting and generally making a lot of noise. A had obviously gone missing, and c and r had locked their room mate out.
Cleanliness of the room! Internet package for the room was very expensive, about 10 pounds per day, also stream was slow and useless to pay!
Clean, comfortable room providing good value for money for a city centre location. None - met all expectations
Short walk from Piccadilly railway station and town center. Pubs and eating places near by.
Couple of particularly good staff - one on Reception, one in bar. Perfect location for our visit - an exhibition at the GMex Had a room at the front of the hotel - very noisy from road and tram traffic. If staying again would ask for a room at the back
Friendly staff, excellent central location Shower poor, air con ineffective (weather warm and humid during our stay).
very nice rooms and very very clean. Staff very polite. Comfortable hotel Teal value for money.
Good location. Clean room.
Very nicely decorated and furnished bedroom. Very quiet. Bathroom a bit tired
Central easy access to public transport No bad points
What I expected clean and affordable, no probs Only had one towel in room and only realised getting out of shower so couldn't go get one
Cheap and good hotel in city Nothing
good sized room - efficient check in- excellent security arrangements
No on site car parking, room had a smell of damp and fags!
