Monte Rei Golf Club
Quinta da Ria Golf Course
The resort is located in one of the few unspoiled areas of the Algarve, in an environment protected area, far from the main centers. The access to the beach is direct, although the hotel beach is on the ria and not in the sea. One shall cross the ria during the low tide. The sea beach is one of the best kept secrets of Algarve: almost desert, sandy, long, and with warm waters. The resort is a German ‘island’ in the Algarve, as it is conceived specifically for these clients. However, it is very family friendly and pleasant hotel.
No windows in our self catering unit.
Needs a complete revamp looks like sothing from th 70's
The grounds were well kept and it was very quiet in October. The location was excellent and we were not pestered about our two dogs. The beds were really uncomfortable and creaked. The room was a little dark
the space of the grounds..alot of open spaces. all was ok........
The fact that it was not high-rise, the 2-storey buildings made it feel a much smaller complex, and out of season, it was fairly quiet. We liked the nearness to the beach and restaurants and supermarket. The location was superb, with wonderful bird-watching. It was quite a quick transfer from the airport. The tennis courts were very good. We missed not having an easy chair/settee. The TV was terrible for English people, we were barely able to keep up with the news. Too many cats in the grounds meant that there were few birds and no lizards or geckos. Not all the guests bothered to clean up after their dogs.
Excellent spacious grounds and gardens. Close to the small fishing village. Very basic apartment which needs updating
The setting was beautiful and the grounds very well looked after. The apartment was basic but clean and had all of the essentials. The staff were lovely.
The windows and the doors do not close the wind. The ilumination is very bad.
the peace and quiet
Swimming pool, restaurant staff very pleasant and attentive Darkness/dinginess of room, fact that gas boiler did not work on arrival and I had to ask for it to be fixed, food at hotel restaurant was generally of poor quality, little evening entertainment provided, no real effort to make me feel welcome as a guest made by staff, perhaps because, unusually, I was a solo traveller in an establishment designed predominantly for families and couples ...
