nothing the restaurant was to expensive for the quality of food and at 23.00 hours all the lights outside were out even by the rooms outside and everything was closed down so you had to go into your room.
A beautiful location and oh so peaceful - the free wakeup call of a donkey braying nearby was much appreciated. The evening meal was food to die for!!!
The hotel is set in amongst vineyards. The swimming pool is lovely and we were fortunate enough to have a room with a terrace onto the pool. The food is exceptionally good. We do'nt speak any French but the staff are wonderful helping with the menu. We enjoyed the local wines.
The family run hotel were professional, and ensured we had a lovely stay. They even put a bottle of champagne in our room!
Wonderful location with beautiful views in the heart of the Jura wine region. Lovely outdoor pool. Room had nice balcony and large modern bathroom.
Friendliness of staff and atmosphere of hotel was excellent. Restaurant highly recommended Could have done with air conditioning as very hot during our nights stay
Beautiful surrounding area with lots to do & see.Peaceful calm environment, quiet during the night. Clean, efficiently run, good food
The food att his hotel is amazing. Staff was very helpful and the setting was gorgeous in the wine country. Room was mediocre, comfortable but not exceptional.
Excellent quality of bedroom facilities, dining and swimming pool. A perfect hotel. No
Staff could speak good English .food was at a very high quality.Very French setting in the hills in a good wine region.Would go back again and again.
For the price the hotel is fair equipped - even a hairdryer - the staff is friendly and will change your allotted room any time if possible, the evening buffet is very good, especially the dessert buffet. Extra offer for etape: 102.00 evening meal, twin bedroom and (for French standards) very good breakfast for 2 people. Outside dining is rather nice too. It was our second stay and we will stay again. They have 4 family rooms. Sunday to Monday it is very noisy because all the (halted) lorries will start rolling after midnight, due to the no-driving rules for Sunday..
A fairly basic hotel but perfectly adequate and a cunningly-designed room with everything you need for just 1 night. The food in the restaurant was really good, probably the most enjoyable meal of the 5 days we were travelling as it was marvellous value! The "starters" course was a vast selection of freshly-prepared salads and other delights which you could help yourself to, unlimited! The desserts likewise. No wonder so many locals were eating there! The very busy N77 is close-by and this is used through the night by freight vehicles, some rooms may be qiueter than others, if using it again I would ask to have a room as far from the road as possible. It is a fair way from Lons-le-Saunier, no chance to easily visit the old town centre, only by car.
Good restaurant evening meal, especially since I arrived late evening and excellent breakfast. Difficult to find from south until I had gone past it, then had to turn round on dual carriageway to work out how to get back to it late at night when very tired from driving all day. Could have been better signed considering it is on one of the main routes thru the town.
The room smelt of smoke.
The combination eating and sleaping at one address of a good level.
clean & comfortable room. Peaceful night's sleep. Easy free parking & wifi. Pets allowed.
cheap no frills hotel, perhaps best suited for 1 overnight stop en route to somewhere breakfast was expensive and unhygenic with a lot of flies and mess
Every effort by the staff to be helpful when requested and in spite of communication problem (our fault for not learning the French language!). Conveniently located to travel to city centre. Slightly noisy with traffic when window opened to let in some fresh air; so ventilation could be improved. But my wife hardly noticed it! However this is a minor discomfort and can be overcome with improved ventilation.
Many costs, particularly on the menu were not adequately explained beforehand.
The pool and setting were excellent The service throughput was poor, the reservation clearly identified the need for an extra bed and this was accepted in the booking but not provided without arguiing. The restaurant booking was not followed through on and the service poor. The billing was wrong and included items not provided.
excellent value for money, four star hotel with 3 star rating, use of jacuzzi and pool included. huge room and bathroom no towel rails or hooks to hang towels
My husband booked this hotel for me. The reception was extremely welcoming. Parking was easy and not too far from reception and although not covered I was happy to leave a heavily loaded car in this charming little village. I was staying on my own but was made to feel most welcome in the dining room. Dinner was very good, to get an "excellent" from me in France would take a little more, but by UK standards it was "excellent", as was the service. I was looking for somewhere en route from Calais to Val d'Isere around this area, so location needed to be relatively precise. My key criterion was to be able to swim after many hours of driving: to my disappointment the pool was cold, so I could not swim for more than a few lengths and this was at the end of August. The jakuzzi was not warm enough, however the sauna and hamman were good. I also wanted a shower that you do not have to hold with one hand above your head as you can't wash your hair this way! My third point is that I prefer duvets rather than blankets.
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely swimming pool. Great location - a small very quiet village with easy access to the vineyards and places of interest, but not far from the autoroute or Lons le Saunier
Staff in restaurant not at all friendly, in fact the older waiter on the night we were in the restaurant my wife and I thought he was quite rude.
upon checkout, produced hidden charges totalling over 30% of stay.
Excellent situation, very friendly hotel staff Linen was very tatty, veranda door did not lock, carpet not clean. Hotel was under re-construction let's see how it improves!
good food and pleasant pool/jacuzi Very hard bed and no windows in room so had to leave open french doors onto terrace -not good for security & insects etc
The location of the hotel is very good and the surrounding countryside picturesque. It was very expensive to eat in the hotel.
We booked to stop overnight enroute to our annual ski holiday at Les Deux Alpes. For us, at this time of year, it turned out to be a perfect, quiet and relaxing environment set off the beaten track. The small group of staff were most welcoming and helpful, and the highlight of our brief visit was the truly excellent cuisine produced by the Chef/owner and his wife. There was nothing we did not like, other than the very obvious and transient work in progress that is clearly aimed at enhancing the quality and scope of the buildings and facilities at this wonderful old site.
calm, silence Unfavorable price / quality relationship for the dinner
The hotel is a group of buildings beautifully embedded in a typical small valley of the french jura
Food in the restaurant was excellent, Location was very peaceful & the hotel building had alot of character & charm
The location is beautiful and the nearby waterfall is worth a 10 min walk The restaurant is ok but expensive....i would not consider it to be gastronomic as advertised!! No receptionest on duty at 08.10 and no one to serve breakfast until 08.15
The convinient position near the city. The nearby restaurant (that belongs to the son of the owner of the hotel), with delicious -and quite cheap- menous. Needs renovation, specially the blankets that are very old.
wonderfully comfortable and spacious bed, great shower, air conditioning that worked and was effective.
Nice hotel, maybe a bit close to a road with lots of traffic
Friendly welcome on our late arrival. Hotel staff speak excellent English. Hotel is easy to access from town by-pass.
I was able to sleep, minimum noise. No English at Reception, confusion about Wi Fi.......when I checked in, asked for Wi-Fi password. Gave me a number and stapled it into my folio. Would not work, turned out to be the code for the entrance door. Called desk, could not understand me. Walked down to desk with computer, oH! Wee fee. Number she gave me did not work. Manager finally came, tried two more before they worked. The receptionist was not helpful or friendly. She was very upset with me, thru scissors, slammed around-said wee fee very important. I responded yes, important for my business. Worst property in my 5 weeks in France. View of overgrown grounds.
A very quirky, friendly hotel. The dinner was exellent - as good as any top hotel, Great quality, very professionally served and tasted delicious. The breakfast was very disappointing - certainly the other end of the scale to the dinner. Also the price for breakfast was way too expensive for what was available.
The host couple were very welcoming. Dinner and wine excellent.
the owners the owners are new and have to learn a lot about their hotel and what international travellers need
The friendliness of the couple who ran the hotel, and its seting and style were also superb. No
We liked the countryside location near Poligny. The food served in the restaurant was excellent, the best in France. Staff very amenable and welcoming. Nothing but would have liked air conditioning
the owner/management couple is very nice too expensive
The hotel is absolutely idylic, and the food first class. We have stayed here 4 times and will stay again, room rate quite high but food prices reasonable No bad points
the food was excellent! the road with traffic
The view and tranquility Nothing
Excellent location Comfortable room Hotel tired & run down. Weird, scruffy & over effusive concierge - the owner we presumed. Hotel exterior in need of general external refurbishment etc. Peeling paintwork and rotten wood were the main features, with scruffy entrance, overgrown drive and unmown grass. Room nice except for "see-through" bathroom!
It was comfortable and clean and friendly It was very difficult to find -- need better directions
Clean, quiet, good location The bathtub is too narrow, The restaurant at the casino too expensive for dull food
Room very clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Menu imaginative, food tasty and restaurant service quick. Restaurant is in separate building.
Staff, room, location
Friendly staff good location All the stairs to get to the room with heavy luggage up and down and up again ..
Spacious room and free WiFi access Poor breakfast and some unfriendly staff.
It was quite, pleasant and friendly. Arriving at 2100 and finding no catering facilities whatsoever.
After a long journey a welcome retreat. Dinner and service super.
quiet rooms restaurant good but expensive
Pleasant friendly, helpful staff
helpful staff and good breakfast selection.
I arrived finally at the Hotel with my biking partner, after being delayed the staff were so good and waited up for two very tired B M W bikers Thank You
Quiet large comfortable room in central location. Being charged to park the car overnight.
The room was very spacious and clean. The price was great.
The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. It is centrally located and has parking secured at night. The hotel needs more updating and renovation - the carpets should be changes and furniture replaced
Large comfortable and clean rooms, close to the town centre. Staff very pleasant.
The hotel seems to be newly renovated. Our room was really huge.
Our room was excellent; well above average size, comfortable, quiet with a good bathroom. Clean towels each day. The separate toilet was a useful addition. The lady who looked after the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The cold buffet breakfast was the same each day but provided a reasonable choice. The hotel is well placed for the restaurants, bars and shops of the town. We would like to stay there again. No negative remarks about the hotel, but if coming by car, beware the one-way street system of Lons-le Saunier. Sat Nav or a Google map will be an advantage.
This hotel is situated perfectly in the hub of charming Poligny. It is just off the main city circle. It is a short walk to the best restaurants and shops of the city. It is also just around the corner from the sports center where the PJBC basketball club plays. The beginning of the trail up to the cross that sits atop a mountain overlooking Poligny is also right around the corner from the hotel.
Attention of the staff
The location and teh Golf Course. Very slow service at dinner despite sitting down for dinner 30 minutes after the restaurant opened.
Food and service were excellent
Rooms are fine for the price set, however the real treat is the dinner. What a wonderful restaurant. We had a splendid five-course meal for a decent price. Wonderful, excellent food and drinks. A real surprise. Breakfast is overpriced.
Friendly, helpful staff. Room basic but very clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was good. Overall, good value for money
The hotel is comfortable, clean and economical. We found the staff were more focussed upon the restaurant clientel than hotel guests so one had to wait for service.
Very little really The bed,the food,
restaurant was expensive and pretentious, but the food was good. free half-hour internet service and cheap prices for longer session far too hot. no air conditioning/fan or anything.towels were threadbare and there was not one for each occupant. we were given a double room when we had booked for three, though this was rectified swiftly. wholehotel area was dingy, but bed was quite comfortable
very kind hotel staff and very good restaurant
