Cons: Beds small and not very comfy. Breakfast just ok.
When you stay at LA GRANGE AUX HIRONDELLES in Chambles, you'll be 13 minutes by car from Château d'Essalois.
Pros: Warm and friendly. Spectacular views. The owner provided charcuterie at very short notice and it was delicious!
Cons: Noise of people walking in the bedroom above.
Pros: This was a wonderful find. It was beautiful location. The owners were unbelievably friendly and the food wonderful. Highly recommended b&b.

Pros: Warm welcome, beautiful surroundings, great breakfast.
Cons: The beds/pillows were not as comfortable as I might have liked.
See hotel page Just down the road from Saint-Galmier between Lyon and Saint-tienne, Domaine la Charpinire, The Originals Collection is a hotel with timeless charm. Subtly combining elegance with modernity, Franck Anderloni is delighted to welcome you to this 4-star hotel, which invites guests to indulge in contemplation and awaken their senses.
Pros: Beautiful contemporary hotel with excellent facilities and friendly helpful staff
Pros: Comfortable quiet room. Nice food in the Brasserie.
Cons: Very poor service in the Brasserie. Room was not very clean (lots of cobwebs in corners and dirty under the bed). Poor customer service on checking out. Not enough seating around the pool so we missed out on that.
Pros: Very close to my supplier. Big parking, close to the entrance and safe as the gate is closed all the time. They have a spa, swimming pool, but the spa arrangements seem expensive to me.
Cons: Well the bed was quite hard, and I usually sleep on tatami mats, so woke up at least 4 times because of the bed. The internet was slow and had difficulties connecting, but it was free. The restaurant even given a Michelin Star was so so, entree was nice, main dish to creamy to my taste, but it may differ for other guests or menus. The breakfast, well we are in France, 3 choices of cheese and 3 choices of cold cuts, basic and too expensive to my taste. Fresh orange juice though!
Pros: It may have once been a Relais du Silence but it is now a standard motel surviving mainly on conventions and weddings. However, what it does it does very well. Superbly clean, functional and comfortable it is a great overnight stop. It has a good lively bistro with excellent food, and a Michelin starred restaurant, though you will need to book well in advance if you want to eat there.
Cons: Most of the parking area has been sub-let to a Porsche dealer and a camping van dealer so unless you are lucky you may have to park in an overflow area some way from the entrance
Pros: The property is really nice and quiet, well cared of inside and outside. One of the best 4* i have ever experienced. We had dinner at the Brasserie and it was really nice. Rooms are so clean and well conditioned, personnel in reception and restaurant were so nice and professional. An excellent stay! Thank you
Cons: I cannot find something
Located in Saint-Galmier, Hostellerie du Forez is a 2-minute drive from Kiosque Badoit and 10 minutes from Casino JOA de Montrond. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We stopped over whilst on a motorcycle tour and our room was perfect as it had plenty of storage for our gear. The room was recently decorated with a very large comfy bed. We liked it that much that we made sure our return journey passed by the same hotel. Unfortunately that room was not available and the other one was not so special, although still nice.
Pros: Nice restaurant and breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff.
With a Venetian style, Château de Monteux is located in La Fouillouse and is surrounded by a big garden with an outdoor swimming pool and sunbeds. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the entire property. Each room includes a private bathroom with shower, an LCD TV and a view of the garden and the pool. A continental breakfast is served every morning. Château de Monteux provides a living room with a billiard table, a big terrace and a shelter for bikes. With free private parking, the property is 4.5 km from Montbrison Train Station.
Pros: The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, and greeted us with a beer and a glass of wine on arrival. The pool was very welcoming and clean and provided some respite in the heat.
Cons: As mentioned in other reviews the Chateau was very 'dusty', and there were many dead bugs (and some not so dead) - an entomologist would love this place. Breakfast was a cautious affair with wasps and fly's divebombing the guests - but it was summer, it was hot and the windows and doors were open.
Pros: The ambience was great, as was the quirkiness - something a little different from your average hotel room. We felt privileged to be there.
Pros: Original and fascinating interior, great hosts, food and good company in the evening with a bottle of wine. A must for anyone who is looking for something different.
Pros: Emazing warm and interesting hosts Henri and Michelle, absolutely incredible collection of art, paintings and antiquities where ever you look, spacious rooms with furnature that could be from a museum, plenty of wine and tasty food and this all in a beautiful natural kept garden with a pool. This is so UNIQUE, you will never forget it!
Cons: Ok, this was not the most proper b&b I have visites, but man oh man, we enjoyed it!!!!
Pros: Beautiful, eclectic, rustic! We have been travelling through Europe for some time now and the Château has been the highlight! Totally exceeded our expectations, you will not find neat gardens and perfect lawns and yes there is the odd dead bug and a little dust but this just makes it even better. Michele and Henre are perfect hosts, Michele prepared a fabulous dinner and nothing was a bother for them. Highly recommend!
Pros: Michele and Henri are wonderful hosts, I appreciate their kindness and the small chats we had in the garden. The small inhabitants of the toilet roof are just additional charm to the house :-)
Pros: Decor was amazing, fascinating .Evening meal was good, and the family were lovely to talk to, spent a great evening talking outside with them.Really different B+B :)
Cons: We found the hotel difficult to find off the main road, signs could be better, thank goodness for a lovely french family who rang the hotel for us to get directions :)
Pros: Henry and his wife made us feel very welcome and cooked a splendid meal for us on the 2nd night. The Chateau is bursting with an eclectic mix of antiques and charm. The bedroom was very comfortable and the shower room very clean and modern. Rooms accessed by spiral stairs in the turret.
Cons: First impressions aren't great when you arrive to a messy courtyard and barking big dog. However the hosts locked the dog away so we came to no harm. There was only 3 places to eat in la foulloise it was pretty deserted.

Pros: The location is picturesque
Cons: On arrival the address given didn’t get us to where we needed to be. We rang after 40 mins of looking and spoke to the owner who said she would come out and find us at the church and didn’t so we drive round to find the property. L The rooms were not what we expected. The original booking we made would have meant our children would have been on another floor close to another couple in the 3 bedroom building. We asked that we would be adjacent to our young family. We exchanged rooms as the others guests struggled with stairs and to ensure we were close to our children. The front door to the outbuilding we were sleeping in was left unlocked all night so felt insecure. The rooms and beds were small and hot and again not to the standard we expected that we had paid for. Finally the breakfast we paid for was meant for 5 and consisted of just 4 croissants, some bread and value orange juice. The owner explained that she only had enough for 4 people as all the shops were shut (the supermarkets were went for breakfast were open).
Pros: We had pre-booked dinner but having had a horrendous motorbike ride in the heat we were 3 hours later than expected but Christine & Thierry had waited for us and had dinner ready as soon as we had showered :) The pool was beautiful and clean and we had a late night swim which was lovely :) Such friendly and obliging hosts, we really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have had longer!

Pros: calm relaxed clean friendly and great choice of breakfast staff helpful
Pros: Large hall, nice lounge area with games for kids. Very good reception from the staff on check-in and very helpful to help us find a restaurant open after 21h30 at night.
Pros: Great location, plenty of parking, staff very friendly, food and drink delicious. Nicely decorated with plenty of room in bedroom and public areas. Pool area looked very inviting!
Pros: Location is quite convenient, near the airport
Cons: Not enough amenities, no toothbrush, no shampoo, no soap, nothing! No laundry and cleaning service, even ironing
Cons: 1. Very low speed Wi-Fi, disconnecting every few minutes and requiring logging back in every time. Very primitive system. 2. One of the receptionists said she doesn't speak English. Same story in the hotel restaurant during breakfast and dinner. 3. Shampoo was not provided on the 3rd day, then upon reporting to the receptionist, she said they never provide shampoo, but only shower gel which is good as shampoo as well. 4. Malfunctioning A/C - in our Queen Suite, in one room the A/C was blowing cold air at full fan speed while being set at 30 degrees. The issue has been reported but never fixed. 5. Non-existent vegetarian options for breakfast and for dinner.
Pros: Friendly staff, especially in the restaurant. Plenty of secure parking.
Cons: Size of the swimming pool. This was one of the reasons we booked that hotel, it was too small and the surrounding area ugly. General appearance of the hotel is dated, dirty carpets and paintwork.
Pros: The food was excellent and really was enjoyed by me. It proved to be the perfect location for the site that I had to visit.
Pros: Good restaurant, comfortable room, swimming pool
Cons: The lift was out of order and the receptionist did not apologise for this inconvenience. Bathroom shower curtain is a bit old fashioned
