Garda lake and Bardolino
Location, Location, Location, superb service, good food, fabulous swimming pool, loads of good restaurants close by, and tghe hotel does not rip you off with extortionate prices when you are there.
nothing special yes, please allow the guest to stay his 24 hs... disappointing
The pool is still ok, nice town within walking distance from the hotel. We have been in this hotel 10 years ago and it looks like nothing has been done to the facilities, the hotel needs renovation / face lift. Some of the staff did not pay any attention to the customers, reception was very nice and helpfyl though. There were lot of things available at breakfast but you did not know which of these you really could eat.
The pool area. The complimentary Prosecco, mineral water and Limoncello. All of the rooms were smoking rooms with twin beds which was not clear from the website. The rooms were dark and stuffy and the whole hotel was in desperate need of modernisation.
Room requested was a double, got a twin, room, smelt of smoke although requested non smoking, electricity went off 3 times on first evening. Vacation of room @ 10 am to early as breakfast did not finish until 10 am.
we liked best about the hotel the location room facilities the breakfast was ample bar prices were good in general we loved the hotel. i think the waiting staff couled be a bit more happier .
Excellent location, great pool, lovely staff, fabulous breakfasts. Slightly expensive and rooms need a little updating.
The place was spotless and the staff were very friendly. The location was perfect. Bardolino was beautiful Italian village and just a 2 minute walk away. The decor was alittle bit dated but this did not impact on our stay.
The position was convenient for all facilities
the reception staff were the most unwelcoming reception staff we have ever met.The hotel was too far away from the nearest town and the shuttle service to the town was innadequate. We had to wait 45 minutes for a taxi. The hotel has no atmosphere. At the weekend the staff struggled to keep up with service at breakfast time.
the king bed and the bathroom
I liked the spa very much. The only thing i didnt like was the fact that there was only 2 english speeking channels on the tv 1 was CNN and the other was BBC News, i would have liked to have wached a film in english.
We were treated very well by the very helpful and mannered staff. On arrival we were upgraded to a lake view room which was fantastic, a clean and modern, spacious room with all the facilities you need. The pool and garden are kept meticulously clean and the general standard of the hotel was very high. Highly recommended. A small issue but the proficiency of English spoken by some of the reception staff was quite poor and sometimes we had to ask to speak to somebody else.
Spa Huge size of the hotel and the distance require to find things
Very good hotel,Great location. lovely rooms and facilities
Staff were all friendly and helpful. Well organised around the resort and good options for treatment at the spa We booked a room with a balcony. Turned out, the balcony was just below ground level and of no use whatever
Nice place. Clean, with all facilities for good relax.
The facilities, location and helpfulness of the staff were all excellent. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The hotel was brand new so the accommodation was top quality. Good position - very quiet & relaxing but only 10 mins walk from the town. Sunbeds always available around the pool area. Pool could have been open longer - it closed at 7pm.
Excellent food, indoor pool (weather was cool), locality to interesting towns and lake. No room service.
The suites are very spacious and decorated lovely. The position of the hotel is a ten minute walk into Bardolino centre.
Privacy was excellent and quiet good; services inside the structure are rich as the site is apart from the Bardolino village (about 800 metres) that you can anyway reach on feet: NO
Very nice hotel: Nice rooms, breakfast was great, garden was beautyfull. Staff was friendly. I can't find anything negative.
The hotel was excellent - even though the pool and spa was closed the staff opened it all up for us - excellent service and very enjoyable.
I liked the design furniture and excellent rooms (suites). The hotel staff do not all speak English, but try their best. The description as Wellness Hotel is misleading. The Sauna is very small, the pool is simple and no relaxation places available after sauna visit. Too weak for a 4 Star Hotel. Price wise too expensive.
The nature pool was wonderful. Quiet and peaceful with gorgeous view of the lake. Breakfast excellent with great choice and a special hot dish every day.Rooms were also quiet and comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep
Modern luxurious suites. Bottle of water every day was a nice touch. Great start to honeymoon.
What a fantastic hotel we liked the whole experience of the hotel the breakfast was fantastic the staff excellent and the rooms are fab.
I just came back from the Boffenigo and loved it,hotel clean and tidy, food was lovely and staff were friendly and helpful.well recommmeded and didn't want to come home.....
too far from town centre, and no taxi's available
The facilities are excellent and if you want a quite location with spectacular views of Garda and the Lake it would be hard to beat. The room is spacious and the balcony large Having in excess of 30+ rooms it is hardly a small or boutique hotel. A request has to be made to the management to have the heating/cooling activated. Corridor door slamming and inter room noise was a problem.
Most beautiful room, hotel lobbywith outside terrace, fantastic pool with bar, and incredible view of Lake Garda. NOTHNG
Excellent location upslope of a small hill away from the city but close to Garda lake with excellent view and panorama. Hotel facilities are excellent and breakfast was great. This weekend break gives us a really refresh experience: relax in the spa, swim by the pool. Stay in Garda also possible for a lot of excursions. Pillow a little bit hard but no essentially a problem.
quit and beautiful place , good location, excelent service
The location and the hotel is very clean and comfortable The price is high
Friendly staff, excellent views, good food A little too far from Garda to walk
Staff superb, Location excellent and facilities eg swimming pools first class. Nothing really . I would say that the rooms were a little small for the price but very comfortable
Privately run, friendly, relaxing, wonderful views, indoor & outdoor pools & gym. Limited dinner menu & too rushed.
Good external facilities: swimming pool, tennis court, etc. Nice environment. Not clean and poor service. Rooms were too cold and staff didn't want to turn on heating system.
Peace, not to crowdy
the views and friendliness of staff and other guests The scary road leading to it - but got used to it after a couple of times
Hotel was exactly the excellent quality we were expecting and the staff were very efficient and friendly. Excellent location and views over the lake..
The view Small room
Excellent location, very friendly and clean. food was very good. Pleanty of parking but not all on site (close by)
Clean rooms and friendly service. No, I was quite happy with the services provided.
All staff at the hotel were very helpful and extremely friendly. Service throughout was amazing.
Friendly helpful staff. Good location of hotel. Nice food. Very clean. Pool was a bit run down. Bed was a bit uncomfortable.
Located a lakeside room at hotel which was spacious and had lovely balcony. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary there and the hotel provided champayne and fruit to our room on arrival which was a nice touch. Hotel quiet and great location Nothing
It was very close to centre of Barlino with an excellent pool which wasn't over 1.5 metres, you could hire bikes and go to nearby resorts on cyclepath. Although we were B&B we did have dinner one night and food was excellent. Our room was 1st floor and balcony could just have sea view but kitchen fans were noticeable but as we were only there 3 nights it wasn't a problem and I'm sure if we had asked we would have been transferred!
All the staff we encountered were extremely courteous, helpful and friendly. No facilities for hot drinks in the rooms.
Proximity to Bardolino and position on the lakeside was perfect. The staff were all pleasant and very helpful. We had a room which overlooked a petrol station, so not quite the beautiful views we were expecting; but we only stayed one night so this wasn't really a problem.
We loved the hotel location, the town the hotel was in and the general decor of the hotel. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the bed was the most comfortable I have slept on. Balcony and view was also great. The hotel bar shut early, and staff didn't seem very flexible in the bar. The hotel seemed to cater much more for German visitors, as the staff seemed to understand German more and all TV channels on the television in the room were either Italian of German.
beautiful scenery and waterfront outlook, helpful staff luggage was difficult to get to hotel ,but, that was due to location
The situation was excellent. The dining area was very pleasant with a lovely outlook. Staff were absolutely first class. Rooms were ok but small. Bathroom was very good with an excellent shower and nice towels. I would like to have had access to a lounge area with comfortable seating as the bed room was rather small and the balcony also rather small, but attractive. The hotel advertised a tv satellite facility but the BBC World station had very poor reception and was unwatchable.
Very nice hotel at a very beautiful location. We had a balcony with lake view. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Parking was tricky. The hotel is located on the water front. Parking is reachable by golf cart.
Attentiveness of staff. Excellent restaurant. Very good choice and quality at breakfast. Good Rooms, excellently appointed. A minor issue but the technology (e.g. air conditioning and sound systems in rooms) was too complex.
Location restaurant closed on night we wanted it for my partners 50th birthday and piano night in bar was cancelled
I like the relationships with all the staff .The breakfast was very good.
Breakfast very good Main restaurant was closed down due too few guests
Food and friendly staff No
My wife and I loved staying at your hotel. In fact it was one of the highlights of our overseas trip. It was modern, very well situated with views of beautiful lake Garda and only a three minute walk to the town of Garda. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our computer and one of the female staff volunteered to help us. The gourmet food was very good and plentiful. I could not fault this hotel. Nothing
Great location, handy to have parking too. Rooms v comfortable and clean The fruit salad at the breakfast buffet wasn't fresh fruit. It was from a tin. Otherwise breakfast was nice
View from the room is great! Close to the town with restaraunts, but at the same time the place is more tranquil and quite than hotels in the centre. Parking is available. Parking is rather small. In general, the hotel is a little overpriced, though still very comfortable.
It was lovely and warm - noticeable as it was very cold outside. All the staff were friendly.
Staff very friendly, good english at reception area, rooms very nice and very clean, Selection for breakfast very good also. Selection available for dinner was very limited and did not like it, also snack by poolside very limited.
a very welcomming comfortable hotel with excellent staff access onto a busy road and steepness of access
Location excellent, quiet hotell near beach. Typical summerhotell. Weather made it impossible to use pool and terrazze!! - but that was not the fault of the staff!! However: maybe some of them could be better in english so they could give more info about what was going on - got info from family at home about the wine festival
Hotel staff, especially reception, were extremely helpful. The cleaners timed the cleaning well, coming in when we were at breakfast and when we returned, our room was spotless. The hotel is a lovely relaxing place to enjoy with a wonderful view and a great location right next to the lake. We enjoyed every minute of it and have recommended it to everyone back at home. The only thing we would comment on is the selection of food at breakfast. Even though the cereal was lovely, there wasnt much of a variety of hot food. This wasnt something we disliked, just a suggestion to put more of a variety out at breakfast. The evening meals were lovely.
The location to Lake Garda and the relaxed atmosphere of the Hotel also parking available
Staff very educated and willing to help. Very good location. Parking quite tight.
The staff were all very friendly & very helpful. The view was amazing from our room. I have problems walking.I didn't realise the hotel was such a walk to Bardolino & Garda.
Stayed at hotel for 9 nights during september 2010. We booked this hotel after reading the reviews. Have to say it was excellent. The staff, food and facilities were all first class. We will definitely return in the future. We had a room facing the back of the hotel with lovely views of the hills which had a large balcony. I would recomend taking a travel kettle and tea, as there is no tea making facilities in the room. We were glad we did! None
The chap at the bar in the afternoon was very friendly, the lady on reception as we left was also very friendly - overall friendly staff
Very friendly staff. I was impressed with the restaurant services. The staff made it easy to get from small village to small village. Beautiful setting, right on the water. Beds very comfortable. I liked everything about the hotel.
Helpfullnes of Reception Staff, good standard of decor in room & location Small TV
Good location, right on the water and a beautiful section of the lake. Plenty of free parking, friendly staff, and a very clean lake side area with docks and chairs to relax on. Right along the boardwalk with no vehicle traffic, just pedestrians and gelato sellers. Buffet of appetizers and live music before dinner. Not enough chairs on the beach, and the docks were crowded in the morning. Beds were uncomfortable (two twin beds pushed together) and hot. Dinner was confusing, with the appetizer party followed by a mandatory buffet. No a la carte option, and no room service.
The room was much smaller than that advertised and portrayed on the internet photos and that was for a superior room!
Good breakfast , central location
Very convenient to down town in Bardolino on the lake and lots of walking areas. Parking on site, easy to get to and from roadways. All very good, nothing we did not like.
good location and comfortable There were not many rooms booked in the hotel and yet they chose to put us in one of the smaller rooms at the back of the hotel over the kitchen when many rooms with balconies where free
we were made to feel very welcome at all times. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble;a member of the kitchen staff even offered to get up early to make our breakfast as we were leaving very early one day to go to venice. The sheets and towels were changed every day! The breakfasts were very good.
It was very close to the water. The pool was nice and not too crowded when we used it. The air conditioning in the room was very welcome. Although the room was cool with air conditioning, the reception, bar and restaurant area were too hot. I think air conditioning was on but because all the doors and windows were open it was hot and stuffy inside. Restaurant menu limited.
Cleaness, accessbility, quiet Amazing: it was the first time in all my life that I have been charged 2 Euros for a simple glass of water
We had a fantastic view over Lake Garda from our room and the food was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bathroom was rather narrow
The hotel was clean friendly everything that is needed is available, no problems what so ever. no, everything was fine.
The setting was wonderful and the breakfast selection excellent. The gardens and hotel surroundings were just beautiful. Staff were helpful and reasonably pleasant. The room did not really compare with the pictures on the website- a little disappointing. The bathroom of our room was really very small and compact.
Very nice hotel, good location, professional staff, great breakfast.
Pleasant, attentive staff, gorgrous views, convenient location, nice restaurant. no
Ideal location to beautiful town of Torri del Beneco. Most comfortable bed I ever slept in.Staff always very helpful especially the receptionist Marie Rose. Nothing was too much trouble for her. A little variety in the breakfast would be welcomed when staying a week. Bring swim shoes if you want to swim in the lake. The jacuzzi in the pool was not turned on although peak season doesn't finish until Oct and this was the 1st week in Sept.Don't always expect the local bus to arrive on time, or take the lenght of time specified. We had to get a train to Venice 2hrs later than planned because of traffic and the bus arriving 40mins late.
I enjoyed the scenery of Lake Garda. The Lake was beautiful and so were the mountains.
The staff were friendly and professional. The breakfasts were excellent and everywhere was spotless. The pool was good and overall the ambience encouraged you to relax which is what you want on holiday. Our room was a superior room and I feel did not live up to the expectations. It was plain with old fashioned furniture. The curtains had small holes in them and the Tv was not modern. For the amount charged every night for the room it should have been better. I am comparing it with rooms of a similar price in Very good London hotels.
Comfortable compact hotel close to lake, Garda centre and ferry terminal
Location was perfect for Garda with the lake, promenade and old town just outside. Breakfast was very good, pools ( outside nice and indoor great feature ) were great for relaxing and front desk staff very friendly and helpful. We booked a superior double and were given a junior suite. We thought it was an upgrade and had to pay for the difference at checkout. It was worth the extra expense and would have preferred that the change in the room be fully explained when we checked in. A small brochure/map with the facilities would have been helpful as a first-time guest.
I like the sit. of the hotel. Nice view and sports facilities. Good place for kids. I was at this hotel 2002 when it was new. It has became a little shappy and the col. of the house and inside has been changed for the worse. Also you have to eat from the bourd ... you dont have a menu to choose from.
Location and accomodation are great, amazing view.
the fact that it had a swimming pool it never had any shops close by
Location was excellent, food was good and plentiful, Bar was not that easy to get a drink from as it was understaffed in the evening and the drinks were relatively expensive.
The majority of staff were extremely friendly and service oriented. The restaurant is good. The view from the hotel is gorgeous, and you are away from the traffic (and people!) jams down at lake Garda. The garage can be accessed by a Fiat 500 but hardly by larger cars.
The friendly staff but the Manager needs to be more helpfull when a problem occurs such as when a room tv breaks down. Room tv's and hairdryers need updating urgently. The provision of a internet service is urgently needed.
was a great place to stay for the wine festival we attended.
Quiet room requested and received. Was able to check in a lot earlier than advertised - a huge bonus for us! Only stayed the one night, but nothing bad to report
everything as ticked above
The staff are very helpful which is great. The hotel is not too big which I prefer. It is situated within easy reach of both Bardolino and Garda. The pool is freezing !! The lounge area/bar area is a bit bright (lights) so not that relaxing for a predinner drink
Central location, welcoming staff.Half-board option excellent value.
It was everything we needed - close to local facilities and the lake, friendly, helpful staff and a great breakfast !
The location was great and the lake view fantastic! Balconies not being available for every room.
the location at the Garda-sea
Excellent helpful and friendly staff. Brilliant location- really central to centre of Garda, but 10 minutes off busy road and all rooms have view over lake. Food is fantasic and you can have champange, strawberries and smoked salmon for breakfast! No
A really relaxing family owned hotel of 21 bedrooms.Excellent friendly professional staff.Gardens and swimming pool area immaculate.A beautiful hotel with wonderful food at breakfast and evening meal. There was nothing I disliked about this hotel.
The hotel is small and hence in many ways lovely. There are not crowds of people that would make the place noisy and unpleasant. The surrounding garden with pool is a perfect fit to the building. There are beautiful views to Lake Garda as well. The building is well kept and everything technical works well. As an example; the aircon was just fine which is not always the case in Italian hotels even today. The walk to lakeside and Garda town is comfortably short. Hotel lobby levels offer well working and free of charge wlan based internet connections which are needed today by most. Lunch and dinner service I cannot comment as we ate always outside of hotel, being on the move all time. Checkout at 11am. Parking places uphill, carrying your luggage is a small physical exercise. But these complaints are meaningless compared to the benefits Villa Madrina offers.
