10.0 Excellent
Pros: I am reluctant to call this a hotel it is like being a very special guest in this wonderful couple's beautiful and unique home. An interesting and imposing building perched on a hill with wonderful views towards the Alps. Rooms and communal areas are all decorated and furnished in a quirky way that reflect the personality of the hard working owner family. The food is special and with all the personal touches and home made additions the evening meal and breakfast served in a beautifully restored conservatory is an experience in itself. I highly recommend this establishment. Do it!
Cons: Sadly it was raining and a bit cloudy during my stay which meant my view from a beautiful veranda accessed directly from my room was tantalisingly obscured. Other than that it is impossible to fault anything about this superb establishment.

Pros: A warm welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Genuinely wonderful welcome. Hosts were charming, the place was very comfortable and is in a great location, with fabulous views. Building has been recently tastefully renovated to a high standard. We enjoyed our evening meal, good quality French cooking with mostly local ingredients. We shared a digestif and a few jokes with our hosts, who also speak reasonable English. Very happy to recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is perfect. Beatifully designed and comofortable. Tought is in every detail from the lines to the soaps. Breakfast is great. One of the best places we have stayed in.
Cons: Lack of a possiblty to make tea or coffee in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Le Domaine de Dony is beautifully furnished from one local shop. We had booked our room, and on arriving were offered a different room if we wanted it. Both rooms were very different so it was a difficult choice, but eventually we selected the one with both a bath and a shower. Our hosts were very accommodating. Their restaurant was closed but a meal was cooked just for us, as we were the only guests that night. The food was different, and tasty. The mushroom soup with nuts and caramel crunch, has to be tasted to be believed. Very talented chef. The room was extremely clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable we had slept in. Highly recommend.
Cons: We could not fault the place or our hosts. There was nothing that we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Total experience from arrival to departure...perfect experience

Cons: Nothing.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful and lovely owner. Despite a mix up with booking.com everything turned out perfect. And breakfast was delicious with homemade marmalades and fresh bread.
Cons: Inget
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Francoise, was a superb host who made us feel most welcome and was truly helpful in every aspect. She provided fresh homemade produce, fresh fruit and flowers: preserves ( the quince jelly and apricot juice were delicious) as were the croissants and pain au chocolates for breakfast. The fridge was well stocked with bottled water and notably a box of each rose and red wine to have a drink whenever you wanted. In addition she provided information on local landmarks, exhibitions and restaurants, even making restaurant reservations for us. An added bonus for a residential property was the secure parking.
Cons: Our room was accessed by a winding staircase which some visitors may find difficult to navigate but not a problem for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, beautiful room, extra touches e.g. fresh flowers & biscuits in the room, spotlessly clean. Wonderful breakfast including delicious homemade jams and local apricot juice. The owners were keen for us to enjoy our stay in every way which we did. Go there!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Francoise could not have been more helpful with advice (even contacting us before we stayed to offer advice for our journey). Some of the breakfast was made by Francoise herself - juice and brioche. We were also given fresh fruit, yoghurt, butter, milk and coffee. As Brits we were even given Yorkshire tea bags! We stayed in the Keith Haring studio and had the opportunity to cook for ourselves. We loved the modern decor and if we come back to the region we would definitely stay with Francoise and Yves.
Chateau De La Saone - Hauterives - Building

9.4 Excellent (180 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very pleasant meal eating outside at a large table in the courtyard with the other guests (€28pp including drinks), who were French, Dutch and Swiss and included young children. The breakfast was magnificent with lots of home made/local produce. There are two very nice friendly (but not too friendly) well behaved dogs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed as a group of friends and had 3 different rooms. All of the rooms were spacecious, with comfortable beds and big bathrooms. The breakfast was excellent with artisanal foods, great pastries and cheese and served in a nice big room. Great experience! There is a big kitchen that is available for guests so we could use fridge and other kitchen facilities. Great hotel! I would come back for few days just to relax in a country side!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every time I come here it's a great pleasure!! Visit is normally business related, but as soon as you arrive at the Chateau it feels like a holiday. Beautiful rooms and lovely atmosphere. Nice to get homemade and local products for breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely atmosphere - Very nice rooms - Friendly hostes
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast!
Cons: No credit card payment option. Only cash.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This Chateau is actually part o& a Chateau where there is still more to do. Th3 owner was a great cook and made loads of her own jams etc so it was a real treat. Breakfast was typically French, our room large and comfortable , our small dog was welcomed by the owners dogs and all got along.
Cons: The sign posting, difficult to find, even th3 locals did not know it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were large, comfortable and attractively decorated and furnished. The included breakfast was excellent value and quality. A real homemade feel.
Cons: The location wasn’t ideal as there was no restaurant at the property and little choice in the nearest town of Beaurepaire. However the menu at Clyde’s was good but ambience not great for a special evening meal.

Pros: Friendly welcome and very comfortable
Cons: You need a car
7.5 Good
Pros: The owners were very helpful but didn’t speak English so used a translator.
Cons: The owners were lovely but went out during the day so no one around. It would have been nice to have refreshments available in the room as we had no car we stayed in site and had nothing to drink. The pool was lovely although under a cover like a greenhouse. The place is very remote a car is essential but as we had to stay there for a wedding ended up using cabs for eating out which was very expensive. The taxi driver was lovely and always on time and recommended where to eat. Again no English but used her phone to translate!
9.5 Excellent
Cons: No coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

Bathroom area adaptation behind a bed head partition not separate with bath but no shower unit. The Owner was very helpful, providing extra pillows and a kettle when asked. There is the added bonus of an excellent restaurant next door.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner went well beyond the call of duty to take care of us after an unscheduled night stop due to a flight cancellation. Very generously we were collected from the airport in the snow and returned there in the morning when it became clear that transport would be difficult. We were provided with an exceptional supper at around midnight - and an equally exceptional breakfast this morning. A kinder, more positive individual would be hard to find in any walk of life. Thank you so much for looking after us!...
5.8 Okay
Pros: Friendly owner collected us from the airport and dropped us back to the airport. Nice local town with a number of restaurants, but if you are travelling with young children, don't expect to find much / anything open before 7pm. The restaurant next door to the hotel was nice enough - their menu was a bit sophisticated for my 4 year old, but they did their best to accommodate her with something simpler and she was happy!
Cons: No shower in the bathroom (just a shower attachment by the bath taps) so not possible to have a shower. Some extras were added to the bill without explanation (we'd been offered some slightly stale leftover croissants from the previous morning's breakfast, which we weren't expecting to be charged for and there was no mention of a charge at the time, which I assumed to be because they were leftovers which would otherwise be binned, but these were added to the bill). Also a charge was added for the airport transfers, which we'd understood to be included as part of the hotel's offering.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very helpful
Cons: Nothing really
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner collected us from and took us back to Grenoble Airport on a one night stopover after our ski holiday. Fantastic service.

Cons: Nothing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, clean and comfortable. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful and even dropped us to the airport. Super breakfast.
Cons: WiFi was extremely poor but we were only staying one night so wasn’t really an issue.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Close to the airport, WiFi good and owner tried to be hospitable
Cons: Wasn’t what we expected at all... we thought this was a small hotel or Gite... this is someone’s house and your given a room there. It’s clearly a B&B and it’s not well represented this way on the Booking.com web site. The website is not representative at all and the breakfast is tea and a helping of croissants. Again not what we expected. The rooms are dated and I don’t recommend staying here.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The generosity of Giancarlo. The nearest restaurant is over 4 miles (6km) away, and he volunteered to drive us there. He also asked the restaurant staff to ring him when we had finished eating so that he could drive us back. I offered to reimburse him for the trips, but he refused.
Cons: The pillows were too soft and there was only one per person. The place was difficult to find until we used Google maps.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Giancarlo and Pepita make you feel welcome in their home and had breakfast with us.They are very nice people. Our room although in the house had complete privacy, its own blacony, private bathroom and toilet.

Thanks again and would recommend this gite to anyway looking for a quiet getaway in the country side with easy access to the airport.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The manager was so helpful. We were stranded in the snow and he left us a key at the front desk with a note ready for us when we eventually arrived at 1 am.
6.8 Good
Pros: The helpful welcome and the location was ideal for easy access to Grenoble Airport. The cost was reasonable for this type of hotel. It has a gastronomic restaurant but we chose not to eat there because we did not want a very rich meal and went elsewhere for something more simple.
Cons: The Hotel rooms and bathroom were fairly basic but it served the purpose we wanted for a one night stay while traveling.
6.3 Good
Pros: Excellent, perhaps exceptional dinner in their restaurant
Cons: The fittings and decor are all aging
6.3 Good
Pros: Fantastic food but very expensive
Cons: Cockroach in bedroom 2 nd floor room no lift and narrow staircase Decor tired and room small Church bells very close and all night
4.5 Okay
Pros: Reception modern and clean, location central, parking easy, and restaurant also refurbished. All staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Room 16 (single) mired in the 1970s. Very old, tired and in need of the kind of modernisation evident in reception and the restaurant. Pink bathroom suite, and towels the size of a postage stamp.Detracted from stay - quite grim.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding dinners by a gourmet chef.
4.3 Okay
Cons: WiFi was terrible. Requires re-login every 5 minutes. Impossible to use. Room was cold. Towels were old and stiff and too small.
