Too far from Town Centre Food adequate but uninteresting
The room was clean, quiet and of a reasonable size. The breakfast buffet was of a good standard and we could come and go as we pleased. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. We missed the hotel when we arrived in Roanne despite accurate directions as all we could see when leaving the junction/bridge was the huge Restaurant sign. Tell people to look for that sign! It will save them a lap of the town centre and business park.
The facility is great, easy to locate, enough space for parking, fine restaurant, has nice rooms, somewhat sober but with everything you need and clean. The staff is very pleasant and very kind.
We thought this was a superb hotel. The design and ambience are really very good. The chef is excellent and it cannot be long before he has his first Michelin star. A wonderful stay with absolutely no complaints. The only comment we could make is that it was not easy to find - perhaps more signs to direct you there would help
The only complaint that I have is that it should have been noted as a 4* and not 3*, We have travelled through Europe and this is just super. The room was clean and bright and had an enormous shower big enough for 4 to share at the same time. Make sure you eat in the restaurant and be a bit adventurous with your food choice. Some people may initially feel that the portions a bit nuveau in size but just wait till you have finished after having all the little tasters in between courses. You wont be hungry then! Soooo yummy. The golf course is just a short walk away but unfortunately didnt have time to play. We will definitely return. Nothing as far as we were concerned. Though please remember this is a quiet hotel in the country with beautiful scenery but not in a town.
Great design, comfort and nice atmosphere. Decided to stay here instead of TroisGros Hotel which was 3x the price.
The setting is magnificient and the staff is very dedicated. The owners are very passionate about their industry. The husband and wife team look after the back and front of house to the highest standards and the dinner was fantastic. Well done!
The whole stay was more than I could ever have expected. The room was fabolous! The food was out of this world! I can highly recomend a visit
Everything.....the room and food
There was a very friendly welcome. Although the restaurant was not open on the night of my stay, the hotel staff recommended a very good local restaurant. The views from the room over the valley towards Roanne were stunning. Despite an early start the next morning, staff were on hand to prepare breakfast and wish us bon voyage! Excellent!
The fine cooking, but not on this occasion We stayed at this simple village hotel at the same time last year and had a wonderful meal. Despite the rooms being very basic, we decided, once again, to make this our last stop on a tour of Europe. When we arrived, we were told that the restaurant was always closed on a Tuesday and no food or drink could be provided. We were told that an e-mail had been sent to warn us, but no e-mail from the hotel has ever been received. We were told that the local restaurant was open but we found that this too was shut. This is a fairly remote village and we had no option but to leave and, late in the evening, find an alternative hotel in the nearest city. Hardly what we expected.
General ambience was welcoming and the staff were excellent. Plug would not work in sink. Once hot water was used, difficulty in getting cold. Shower head would not stay upright.
Excellent location for exploring Beaujolais contry. Rooms are simple. Food is outstanding. Superb cooking, but expect to pay for it. Hostess is very helpful and an expert on wine. Pleasant dining room with wood burning stove. Electric heaters in the rooms. With so few staying, it would have been good for the chef to have met his clients.
The Hotel was nicely situated and the staff were very friendly.
Very pleasant room with views to the vine covered hills. A good welcome with excellent restaurant and adequate wine list. The lack of hot water at important times was rather off putting.
Wonderful location and beautiful food. The staff were very helpful.
Wonderful owners were most helpful and friendly. The food was creative and outstanding quality. Our room had a great view. This is a gorgeous location in a small wine town.
One of the nicest hotels that I have ever stayed at. Very comfortable with wonderful views. The hotel restaurant's menu was not inspring, but there is a good restaurant about 100 meters away.
The excellent food and friendly reception.Very recomendable
The food is superb & although not cheap, good value for such professionalism & originality
Hotel is opposite the station - very convenient for the town. A bit old but quite clean and comfy.
We chose this hotel as it was reasonable and centrally located. But most important it was just 50 yards from the Troigros restautant Le Central. A little dated.
very nice staff and right across from the train station.
nothing special television
Quiet and relaxing in a central location. The room was spacious with a lovely cool feel and the hotel has a touch of 'old world' grandeur. Nothing, it was very good
near trainstation and troigrois
The location was good, the accommodation was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The owner was very hospitable and helpful. Wifi available at no extra cost and there was ample parking.
Wonderful owners, lovely rooms, a beautiful stay!!
The very friendly "patron": we arrived late in the evening and wanted to take a small dinner with the bread and cheese we brought with us and he set us a nice table, recommended us a good Beaujoulais of the region and he even served us a homemade chocolate cake as dessert: Wonderful! We also liked the calmness and the nice surrounding and decoration and the convenient access to the autoroute.
Warm welcome by the host (speaking english and helpful) Old and really worn furniture. In my opinion unbearable condition for the room and the bathroom. After 10 p.m. the reception is closed and you aren't able to buy water (no automatic machine, no frigobar) and this is a real problem because from the tap the water has a very bad taste and odor. Too expensive
The hotel is a beautiful old mansion in a surronding of many vineyards.Very calm. The beautiful antique beds are rather short. The rooms are dark and somewhat noisy. There is no restaurant in the neighbourhood.
Fot 2 persons the bed is too small. Otherwise the room is nice and big enough.
The double room was too small to move around. There was no space where to put the luggage
Coordinates of the hotel are not correct. Tom Tom is bringing you one kilometer away in the middle of nowhere if you use the coordines given by booking.com. In the dark night this is not nice to notice.
Functional place - which is all that we needed. Very very helpful staff - a problem with the air conditioning was put right immediately.
Everything was ok. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and nice. Free Internet connection. Restaurant of the hotel is really great.
The owner and his wife went out of their way to be helpful and were very friendly, They made a meal for 6 after the restaurant had closed because we were late and also phoned the previous hotel for me because I had left some items there, would recommend to anyone. Na
We appreciated the friendly reception by the hotel staff and enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant of the hotel. The regional wine Cote Roannaise together with the regional dishes that are served in this restaurant, can be recommended. The hotel has been refurbished with taste, however it is one of the few hotels that is not yet equipped with a lift.
I like the kindness of the staff. Very warm. No, I did not any, there is not any.
