Pros: You home away from home. So cosy, warm, clean and welcoming! It costs every cent! 3-course Dinner is also very good and atmospheric. We absolutely loved this place!
Pros: Clean cozy rooms with water front view. Owner is very nice. I left my charger there and they mailed it to me immediately to my next stop so I could use it for the rest of my trip. Breakfast is included and traditional Norwegian food are provide.
Pros: The breakfast, dinner, view and location were the best parts of this hotel. It is really worth going.
Pros: The host was outstanding and very helpful. He prepared a wonderful dinner for us in no time. Gave us a good tips about the neighborhood. The breakfast was great and the whole environment.
Pros: The farm is in a beautiful and convenient place. The view of the fjord from our room was just breathtaking. Dinner was also excellent and great value for money.
Pros: Location, view, food, room
Cons: Not an issue with the hotel itself but, on two occasions, we had separate groups of Americans appear on our terrace. They didn't seem to understand that it was part of our room and it was annoying to be enjoying a cup of tea and the view and suddenly have two Americans appear in front of our room, on our private terrace, shouting about the view.
Pros: Nice staff, clean room, great diner and the interaction with the other guests during diner and breakfast.
Cons: The room we got was a bit on the small side (but it did have a great view on the Feigumfossen across the water)
Pros: Great location, great views and amazing hospitality. We arrived later than planned, but they kept the kitchen open and cooked us a wonderful meal for a very reasonable price. Property was well kept and clean. Very happy with the overall experience.
Cons: Bathroom was private, but not attached to primary room.
Pros: My wife’s favorite hotel on two week tour of Scandinavia. Beautiful setting. Excellent breakfast and friendly, helpful staff.
With a stay at Walaker Hotel in Luster, you'll be on the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Urnes Stave Church and Sogne Fjord. Featured amenities include luggage storage, a library, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. This hotel has 6 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Beautiful hotel, stunning location, incredible staff, amazing food
Cons: Nothing. We loved it.
Pros: Extra care was taken for free afternoon tea and to charge our electric car.
Cons: Very long wait over 35-45 min between every course served for dinner. Dinner courses were not specifically local foods, with ingredients coming from Peru and all fruit imported from the tropics.
Pros: The ambiance here and old Norwegian style far exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the old house - so my elderly parents had to walk up stairs and stay in a room with a slanted ceiling - but it was worth it for all of the character and history displayed in there.
Cons: There isn't much to do in the town of Solvorn, but that's okay. We were touring the area anyways.
Pros: Excellent food, beautiful location. And very friendly staff.
Pros: Fjord views with excellent dining. Staff, and particularly Alisa, we're exceptionally helpful.
Pros: Breakfast was superb, with the best selection ever. Good place to park the car. Very nice garden.
Cons: Dinner menu was OK, but I found it a bit unexciting and not quite to my taste.
Pros: It's not far from 2 national parks and it's right by a lake. The scenery is pleasant but after seeing all the other amazing places around Norway, I would rate the scenery here average.
Cons: For starter, it's located in such a small town that there's no meal option other than the hotel restaurant. The hotel restaurant only offers 4-course prefix menu. You need to reserve in advance AND you have to show up for dinner at 7:30PM because all the dishes have to be served at the same time. So for someone like me whose priority was to explore the 2 national parks nearby for photography and can't get back by exact time, I was at risk of no dinner for both nights. Plus, I'm lactose intolerant so I can't have most things on the prefix menu. The chef made a salmon for me on the 1st night and for the 2nd night, I only had soup and bread because I committed the sin of coming back at 9. I traveled a lot. I have never experienced something like this rule. I was told I mustn't have traveled much. The implication was that I wasn't sophisticated enough for such a refined establishment. 2nd, I reserved for a double room for 2 nights. The photo in the confirmation shows 2 single beds side by side to make a double bed. I was given a "historical room" with 2 single beds in head-to-feet style like kids' room. When I protested it, I was told that's a double room for a single person. I reserved double room because I want more space but they gave me the smallest room anyway because they saw I was a solo traveler. I refused to take that kids' room. They eventually gave me a room with 2 single-beds side by side. The hotel prides itself on its history. The main buildings are historical buildings with antique style decor and furniture. The furniture wasn't comfortable and the bed sheets were scratchy. The housekeeping staff found some softer sheets for me after I complained on the 2nd day. This hotel was the highest price I paid during 2-week Norway trip but I had the worst experiences. This hotel is for people of leisure who want to be closer to nature...but not too close.
Pros: Breakfast was amazing, the beds (historical rooms) were probably the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in. Staff was SO helpful, and very kind. Location is beautiful, and the rooms themselves (again, historical) were mindblowing. The venue itself was gorgeous!
Cons: If I have to mention anything, I would point out that the only supper (to my knowledge) in the area, is the 4-course dinner offered at the hotel, as the location is far from anything. As we are a couple of nibblers (et småspist par), I think paying almost 700 NOK/per person for dinner is quite steep.
Set in Solvorn, Villa Solvorn offers free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. Guests at the bed and breakfast can enjoy a continental breakfast. Villa Solvorn offers a terrace. A bicycle rental service is available at the accommodation, while cycling can be enjoyed nearby. Urnes Stave Church is 5 km from Villa Solvorn. The nearest airport is Sogndal Airport, 33 km from the bed and breakfast.
Pros: Very beautifully decorated B&B. It is actually extremely nice. We had a family room for 4, which was lovely (see photo) and very comfortable. Bathrooms and toilets are shared with other guests but that is not really a problem. Breakfast is served in the living-room and is very complete. It is a fun experience, as you really feel you are staying at a friend’s place. The owner actually rents his own house in Summer and lives in it the rest of the year. There is a common fridge for the guests. The garden is full of flowers and you can sit outside around a small fountain. We had a good laugh with the pet rabbits. You can park easily in the village of Solvorn, which we really enjoyed. There is a cafe nearby who does excellent food (the best in our 3-week trip) at reasonable prices.
Cons: The check-in process because the owner made us wait 90 mn as he was out shopping for groceries. We went to the cafe while we waited but because of that we could not get to visit the church of Urnes, which we had planned to do that afternoon, so I found this a bit annoying. The welcome is very cold and not particularly friendly, which we regretted very much because we absolutely loved the place. We had a slight problem in the bathroom upstairs as the shower was not evacuating properly, due to hair clogging. That was a little bit unpleasant and also surprising as the rest of the house, rooms, etc, was absolutely spotless.
Pros: Cute little room a bit tight for 4 adults, but not bad. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful house and grounds. We spent much of one rainy afternoon just hanging out in their outside dining area.
Cons: Its pretty busy; there are 6 rooms in this house which makes it feel a bit busy.
Pros: Good location, rich and excellent breakfast, very friendly staff
Pros: Oskar made fresh waffles to enhance the buffet selection.
Cons: sharing the bathroom with strangers is a little awkward, but not really a deterrent.
Pros: Perfect spot for outdoor activities with very helpful instructions by Oscar. Nice breakfast.
Pros: Perfect spot for outdoor activities with very helpful instructions by Oscar. Nice breakfast.
Cons: To match the quality of the place and confort you could have adferd some quality on the bread juice etc in the breakfast
Pros: Location, quietness, surrounded by garden, parking
Cons: Shared bathroom was not easy to access at some time periods.
Pros: Rooms are very cosy, lounge room and dinning room for guests to relax in were great. Everything is spotlessly clean. Breakfast is great.
Pros: Great location for exploring this area of the Sognefjord.
Cons: Room was very small.
Located in Luster, Tørvis Hotell is on the waterfront, a 3-minute drive from Sogne Fjord and 8 minutes from Sogn Ski Center. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Room to pricey in relation to standard
Pros: Terrace 좋아요. Beautirul bathroom, white bedroom, antique interior
Cons: No elevator
Pros: The hospitality and welcoming guest even the reception close they handled with this issue there was someone wait for any late coming to the hotel .
Pros: Particularly good food, we were lucky to get the best room, and the service was excellent!
Cons: The beer upon arrival was not ice cold
Pros: Friendly staff, good location and nice view
Cons: Breakfast is average, no tv, no mini bar, no hair dryer, no kettle in the bedroom
Pros: breakfast in the beautiful dining room was more than plentiful, attractively set and delicious
Cons: I can't think of anything at all to criticise during our stay at Torvis
Cons: Amazing location. Really nice historic hotel with a modern twist. Rooms really nice. Away from town and right on the fjord. Lovely view. Free parking. Breakfast was really nice. Staff nice and welcoming and really helpful.
Pros: Everything. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast and staff were top notch!
Pros: Good location to explore the glaciers in Jostedalsbreen. Historical building with nice furniture and pictures in public places. View to the fjord from the room. Excellent dinner. Helpful and cheerful staff.
Cons: The neighborhood is rather dull. The main (new) building is connected to the historical one by multiple stairs and corridors (not so convenient to handle the luggage)
Pros: Location and ambience
Cons: A top sheet would be appreciated
Located in Luster, Eikum Hotell is in the mountains, within a 10-minute drive of Sogn Ski Center and Sogne Fjord. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It was nice to see that they used an old fashioned norwegian style on the interior .
Cons: The bathroom was small, I found spider web in the ceiling, some parts of the wall on the bathroom were almost torn apart, and I felt dirty when taking a shower there. They also charged an extra 150 NOK for a small baby bed, as the 1650 NOK for a twin bed room wasn’t expensive enough to begin with.
Pros: I like that this hotel had been in the same family for 4 generations. The Dad and son were very hospitable and helpful. A lot of history in this hotel with pictures etc. The room was small but adequate. A cute little bar and sitting area. Dinner was available, only the plate of the day was offered which was fine with us. It was served family style so plenty to eat. Food was good. The waitress was extremely friendly and took time to talk to us. A grocery store right across the street. They were very helpful in telling us what we should see and how to get there .
Pros: Nothing really
Cons: Savagely overpriced. In terms of quality and comfort, Eikum compares to Motel 8 or Days Inn in the USA, except you pay ~80 for Days Inn and 200 for Eikum, like it's a Sheraton or something. I know, it's Norway, but please... What could possibly cost 200 dollars??
Located in Luster, Gaupnetunet Hotell is within a 15-minute drive of Sogne Fjord and Sogn Ski Center. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location was perfect. Dishwasher. Heated floors . Next to supermarket.
Cons: The cottage was not really suitable for a family with 2 grown children. The bedroom had a double bed with a bunk bed over it, but I was impossible to climb up in bunk bed (even if you.where a very atletic 10 year old) because you couldn’t attach the small ladder anywhere. We took the matrass out and laid it on the floor (no energy to complain to the.establishment, this was an last resort because of bad weather, we had planned to camp). The kitchen didn't have enough cups etc for 4 people,.we used our own. Shower without curtain,.whole toilet got wet
Pros: Very nice property! Supermarket just on the side of the hotel. They also have a very nice pizza and beers in the evening time, and a nice garden spot to enjoy!
Pros: The added breakfast was good.
Cons: The cabin was not as we expected.
Pros: We were informed the day before that there was a double booking on the cabin I ordered with two bedrooms therefore they would offer us a hotel room with an adjoining room plus breakfast. I agreed to it though I would have preferred to stay in a cabin. On the other hand, we do not need to fix our bedding i.e., put duvet covers to the duvet and make breakfast. So everything turned out fine. We got a big room with two separate bedrooms which we needed. Breakfast was very good. Their bacon was very good. We had dinner in their restaurant. They make very good pizza.
Cons: One of the toilets in our room was old fashioned. Clean but it smells musty. The other bathroom however was modern. So all of us took a bath in the modern bathroom. No refrigerator in the room so I asked them if they could put our melk and other food that requires refrigeration in their ref. Their bed is a bit soft for me.
Pros: Good base to start hiking to the glacier. Good hotel and restaurant. Possible to have dinner outside. And the sun set is very long
Pros: We stayed in a one-bedroom cottage. The location was ok: not far from Nigardsbreen and at to the cosy centre of Gaupe. Two supermarkets nearby. The room was ok and cleaned before our arrival. Pleasant staff. The size of the room was enough for three of us. Very useful with the kitchen even though it was not so well equipped.
Cons: The toilet should be replaced with a new one or cleaned very well. No curtain or whatever in the shower (so that the water was on the whole floor). Weak and unstable WiFi.
Pros: The property is nicely located near the Route from Flam to Jostedal. Beautiful area, nice property, good staff.
Cons: Everything was good.
Pros: Nice little mountain hotel. We could see sheep behind the stream through the window. Good breakfast. Beautiful mountain views all around. Close to many mountain hikes and attractions.
Cons: Hotel is the only place you can get dinner in the vicinity. Other nearest places are in Songdal.
Pros: Warm and comfortable - when it was really chilly outside.
Cons: Could have had more utensils in the kitchen.
Pros: Good quick stay during our road trip.
Cons: Not a lot of options in the breakfast menu. But that’s ok.
With a stay at Pluscamp Sandvik in Luster, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Sogne Fjord and Sogn Ski Center. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: · Very dirty place , has a kitchen at the room but no tap, Manager reacts very bad and aggressive to our complainants and requests
Pros: Very nice view from the cabbin and very nice location all around.
Cons: There was no heating in the cabin (we did get an electric heater at the reception), and no dishes.
Pros: Place is nice. Location too, bathrooms are clean Staff is super friendly. Thank you
Cons: There is nothing in the kitchen. No plates, no ketle, no castrols. In our cabin we had a small kitchen but we did not have cups or cutlery. We couldnot make a coffee because we used to not bring castrols with us. Just buy some cheap kitchen things and all is perfect
Pros: The hutts are clean and comfortable. Considering the prices in Norway they have a good price/value ratio. Nice location and kitchen has basic equipment for cooking that you would need. I recommend it on your way through Norwegian Fjords!
Pros: Beautiful cabin, great location. The staff was very friendly
Pros: Great view and lots of apple trees with tasty apples just outside the door.
Cons: There was cracks in the window and the door so it was very cold. Old heater didn’t help much, the temperature adjusting knob wasn’t working. Bad lightning in the common kitchen area, no cooking utilities.
Pros: The location was nice, there is a supermarket 5 minutes walking. Very calm place.
Cons: The kitchen didn't have any equipment to cook and you had to pay for hot water in the shower. Toilets were quite far from the house, which was uncomfortable when raining. The beds weren't very comfortable neither.
Pros: Close to jostedalbreen glacier Possibility to borrow kitchen equipment for free
Cons: Bad bed linen (bettee to bring your own) No water / sink in the cabines
Cons: After whole day hiking, we were driving 4 hours to this camp. We've got lost and had to wait long time for a ferry. My phone was dead, after I was using it for google maps. U know that...one problem after another. At the end we arrived 35 minutes after check in was due. I came to the reception, smiled, apologized for being little late and was expecting some understanding. But I couldn't believe what happened next! The receptionist Olaf was extremely rude! I had to stand there for 15 minutes and listen to him telling me off for the whole time.. Saying how impolite I am being late, normal people would have give them a call, but apparently I am not... I could not say anything.. I was tired and in shock. How he can get away with talking to people like this? I just stood there without saying a word, because I was too tired to have an argument over such a silly thing. At the end of the day I ended up in tears, all because of this man! Luckily while we were checking out there was a sweet girl at the reception. But after this horrible experience I would not recommend this camp to anybody.
