big room, big bathroom, all new furniture, cleanliness
We enjoyed the peacefulness of the hotel, the lovely breakfasts and the helpfulness of the staff. The room was very clean and had a pleasant view of the gardens. Good literature provided for excursions. Too far from the town to walk and not really in a location convenient for country walks. Still a good base for exploring the area.
swimming pool and grounds lack of tea making facilities
Good wi fi connection
It was clean, functional and good value for money. We are used to having tea/coffee facilities in our room; these were not available.
Very good restaurant, good value Window broken and not secure. Location alongside motorway, although fortunately our room was not on that side. Very difficult to find, Multimap location not clear and address misleading.
Location for transit stay Room outlook not the best
Ease of booking. God welcome and helpful Rather utilitarian
Good location near the main roads and good choice at the restaurant.
Good value, efficient service, friendly staff. Please give the name of the road in which the hotel entrance is located - it is not on Avenue Gallieni. Better directions are needed,
Good car parking. Good choice of food in the restaurant and at breakfast
Very comfortable bed, useful transit location for us The Hotel was hard to find in the last mile, we came off the motorway and found a vague sign in 'French only' with the name of the hotel, the address offered online was useless for our Satnav so drove around the area and over the motorway a few times before finally figuring out how to get to the place!
It was simple, confortable perfect for what we wanted the tv was fusy
A warn welcome was received. We stayed in a very nice room for 2 nights only and took breakfast at an extra cost. Very good location. Very pleasant staff.
Being 'owner-run' and family business it was friendly and simple. Probably maintains its price by vicinity nearness access to large popular Saumur and three Saumur Wine Houses. ('champagne'), Very near to road-crossings, hence double-glazed vitrage- windows would help.
The experience of typical France. Unfortunately the petit dejerney was not good value! Will take breakfast somewhere else next time
Decent for price. Outside city center but near wineries and equestrian center. Rarely saw hotel staff, and no one around to ask for supplies, although they emailed in advance. With window open, traffic was annoying at night.
Very welcoming of cyclists
Comfortable basic rooms with on-site off-road parking, continantal breakfast plus cereals in the hotel bar.
Breakfasts were very good and staff tried to be helpful. Poor lighting and decoration in staircase, on 1st floor landing a table lamp was balanced on a chair to provide a light, other lights appeared to be a temp measure with wires showing. Fire safety arrangements poor- little emergency lighting and no fire doors to seperate staircase from bedroom corridors. Did not see a fire alarm bell or call points. Appeared to be no staff on duty at night. Shower bracket broken in bathroom, carpet looked gruby, bedroom quite small.
Room was clean and airy with a nice sized ensuite. Staff were very friendly Not really perhaps we could have been offered more coffee at breakfast. only one cup each.
Clean comfortable and simple. It is in the process of being refurbished nicely floor by floor in a simple modern manner. Breakfast was in the Bar or on the outside tables with local french customers which was very nice. The street noise was not too bad at all, just occasional big trucks but no worse than the other more expensive hotels we stayed in in the area.
room was clean and staff helpful bathroom was quite small
The quality of the bedrooms and public spaces was excellent; friendly, helpful staff; very good breakfast.
Clean, comfortable and value for money. Service and food in the restaurant were a delight
Restauarant was superb None
The setting of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel was relaxing.
The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean. Beautiful views and a great location for the Chateau in Montreuil-Bellay.
The location was beautiful & the hotel itself was very pretty with nice owners. No.
Very convenient location in the old town.
the location of the hotel next to the castle & the lovely river where one could walk along.
