Spatious rooms at an excellent price (if reserved via Booking.com, at least). Restaurant offers good food, but absolutely not suitable for children, and has a totally disorganised service. Would recommend anyone to take this hotel, but then without the restaurant.
Room was good and had been renovated but hotel in general needs facelift. Long wait for elevator.
It is a perfect hotel for holiday.hope will have next time to stay there.
Quietness, breakfast buffet over average.
the room and parking restaurant did not have a light meal or snack.
convenience to centre ville finding the hotel when travelling by car and lack of parking
mooi uitzicht, nice view, friendly staff, speaks dutch
Beautiful old hotel for a sharp price Bathroom is a little bit old
A charming old Hotel, which did not loose its flair of the "old days", due to excessive renewal and renovation. We enjoyed our stay there. Private parking area. Pool. Parklike garden. Fairly good breakfast buffet (incl. srambled egg). Ein schönes altes Hotel, welches das Flair der "alten Tage" nicht durch übermäßige Renovierungswut verloren hat. Uns hat es dort sehr gut gefallen. Privatparkplatz. Pool. Parkähnlicher Garten. Ziemlich gutes Frühstücksbuffet (inkl. Rührei). The bath has been replaced by an acrylic tub with boring newish chrome fittings and would have deserved a rather more suitable retro-type replacement. Das Bad wurde leider mit einer Acrylbadewanne und langweiligen "modernen" Armaturen versehen, obwohl es eher einen Ersatz mit einer Retro-Badeinrichtung verdient hätte.
after a long drive a comfortable stop at the hotel
We stayed at the hotel on our way back to Luxembourg after touring France. Our room was huge and very comfortable. Seperate toilet and seperate bathroom. Tea and Coffee facilities in our room. Very quiet. The town of vittel is very small and everything seemed to be shut but we did stay in November. Lovely little restaurants to visit.
Well located comfortable and clean hotel, spacious room and bathroom, kind and helpfull staff. Although only one night, it was a perfect stay.
New. Large room.
Large modern, clean and comfortable room. We ate at the hotel restaurent for dinner out on the terrace and found the staff excellent - helpful and friendly.
Very pleasant receptionists, huge very modern room with cavernous shower, comfortable big bed, good dinner in Casino next door, good Philips TV. Bathroom was so big it was cold. Wooden floor seemed dusty to bare feet. But generally very good value, as we expect from Mercure group.
The hotel was quite new and the room was rather spacious and clean.
very nice room, nice design, staff were helpfull
The hotel had a nice 'old charm' about it and its decoration. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a nice restaurant as well.
This hotel is extraordinary in many aspects. Rooms are very cosy, and if you like romantic and old-style environments, go here. The personnel is extremely helpful and original. Any request is dealt with great enthusiasm and dedication. Very friendly waiters and lovely tables to eat at.
Very unique hotel/cottage accommodations in an "off the beaten track" sort of way - homey and welcoming, reminding me of trips I took many years ago. A wonderful, quirky place with very accommodating hosts!
A very good restaurant The rooms need freshening up
The rooms are clean. Good shower, nice bed. The staff weren't very friendly (nearly no English). The room didn't have real curtains. Breakfast wasn't great, when we arrived to eat 9 a.m. most of the food was finished...
very nice hotel, close to highway to the south of france, ideal for a half-way break on the trip. close to vittel center and if time is available, possibility to make face care or others on demand. excellent breakfast as well. I recommend for any traveller for short or mid-term stay. A happy traveller.
We stayed here for one night, while driving to the provence. It was a perfect stayover, with very friendly personnel and a beautiful, recently renovated room. The breakfast buffet had everything you'd expect (bread, croissants, sausage, cheese, cereals, juice, coffee, ...). One minor impracticality was the design of the shower, which was located in the corner of the bathroom, but lacked a door or curtain. Other than this, thumbs up for this hotel
clean rooms, bit basic.God location.Excellent restaurant attached/run by hotel
The staff was very nice when we arrived the kitchen just closed ( at 9.30 pm) but they helped us to make a reservation in a nice restaurant in Vittel just 5 min. away. We booked a 2p. room with an extra bed (20€) for our 3 kids instead they gave us a 4p. room for the price of the 2p. room and they did't charge the extra bed fee. The breakfast was good. The directions on the hotelsite are correct but it was a bit further of the highway than you might think. Beautiful environment to drive through though. Our room smelled a bit strange like a chemical airrefreshener or so, the kidsroom was fine.
Liked the pool and facilities and was very impressed with the menu Not enough hanging space or hooks in teh room
Basic accomodation but excellent food. No english channel TV
Clean rooms, comfortable beds, good food at reasonable prices and pleasant staff and situated very conveniently for the golf course and the town.
The facilities at the hotel were excellent. the room could have had more hanging hooks for coats and towels.
We had to take the room in the attic which was fine but it was more expensive. Instead of the €40, it was €56 because it was a bigger room and could sleep three people. The reason we did not take the room that was foreseen was because the room stank of smoke. I'm allergic to smoke. Also we arrived much later than foreseen but did phone them to say as much. The shower area did not have a curtain or even a mat so one could easily slip when getting out of the shower. Fortunately, this did not happen. We had asked if there wasn't another room for the next day but the lady said no. We had seen people leave that morning. So we decided to leave after one night.
friendly staf, good parking the bed was very old and bad, the worst we ever had.
Location in combination with value for money is really excellent. Good if you are travelling through France and looking for a one night stay.
Nice, clean room. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. train behind the hotel.
Staff very friendly and helpful, use of swimming pool and restaurant facilities. Although on a small retail park, the restaurant in the bowling alley was excellent and had a very nice bar and very helpful staff nothing
Excellent short stay hotel, very clean and very well maintained. Home cooked 3 course dinner for EUR 12. Nice indoor swimming pool. Good facilities for families with small children (change area, playground). Located on commercial / industrial estate.
Our rooms were quiet, clean. Parking was secure and reasonable at 4 euros. Reception was friendly A shame that the linked restaurant down the road which we found such good quality and value last time we stayed was shut on Monday. The room meal ordered for my wife was half an hour late. walls rather poorly sound insulated.
A good sleep Almost every restaurant is closed on mondays in contrexeville and other villages around.
Good hotel for breaking journey through France. Swimming pool for a small extra charge. Modest but very clean rooms. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced menu for evening meal, simple but good value for money.
modern hotel, clean and a possibility to have some food in the evening
Friendly staff, lovely rooms (we stayed in the African room - very comfortable, with nice homely touches). Also great hotel for business people staying longer and wanting to have a home away from home. Heated pool from April-October. Set in a town with a wellness-resort, shops are next door, and the countryside and woods are just around the corner. Only 20 km away from the A31, so also a good place for spending the night en route to the south of France. Worked very well for us.
environment, restaurant and quiet during the night simple hotel but clean and quiet
I liked the environment. It is located beautiful near the lake. internet did not work, small room
the lacs no
No problem to stay with a family and young children, they took well care of us.
Hotel is situated on ideal place between the Netherlands and south of France. Is very good for an overnight stay and delivers value for money. Breakfest tea tasted like bad coffee
It was near a lake. This is more like a glorified motel for couples who want to just have sex. My entry door had a hole which made it very easy for someone to come in without a key. Stairs were absolutly filthy, with shit all over, rust and slippery (one of the two sets of stairs). Building away from reception. When I asked to be moved to another room, the 'boss' was rude and refused to do it saying that they were full. However, 2 white women who came after me also wanted to have a different room and because they did speak French fluently, they were given their wishes, immediately and right in front of me!. Stayed only one night and moved to another hotel. I will never come back to this hotel again. Breakfast was very poor. I have photos of door and stairs.
Restaurant services, food was ok, but performance of the staff was bad.
Efficient, drive-in type hotel Badly maintained, sloppy environment, worn towels
all and everyting include the breakfast The bed was harder then we are used to and the evening menue was fresch and OK but y didn`t like de type of food (to mutch vegetebals without variation)
The food was very good and very reasonable at the hotel. The setting was pretty, with pleasant strolls round the lake. the room was getting a bit old and tired, with niggly faults like lights not working, holes in doors and the control for the heater in the bathroom was broken and possibly unsafe
The hotel has an amazing history, the family that run it is delightful and welcoming, the food was beyond belief. Very enjoyable experience. Only that I did not get to stay long enough. I will certainly return.
The location near to centre of Vittel, the excellent cuisine and the character and friendliness of the proprietor. Easy parking space.
Vittel. The toilet was dirty when we arrived. Appart from that everything was ok.
The room was fine and the bed was just good for our backs. We spend a good night at Vittel. Town is nearby. We did not use the breakfast.
Nothing was too much trouble, staff were very friendly. Room and hotel itself very clean No
Good overnight stop. Quiet, clean, with nice breakfast. Beds hard.
Closeness to the town No english speaking staff
terras, kitchen long way to the car park.
Lovely location/surroundings. Room was a bit small.
it was a very calm environment in a lovely countyside situated at the boarder of a small lake
seperate room for kids adjoining was good and kitchen facilities were handy. Rooms were clean. beds were very poor standard, carpets and general furnishings were very cheap and dated. Staff were courteous but not always welcoming, especially late evening reception which was less than welcoming.
The wheater was good and therefor it was pleasant around the lake.
Very friendly staff although they did not speak English they really tried the food was excellent and the room lovely
Location,staff,food Tired rooms
Beds were comfortable and fast Wireless internet was available in the room. A pleasant view across farmland. Secure parking (but not free!) A very small village, with a dawn chorus ranging from geese, through cockerels to a donkey. A perceived non-relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. Distastefully furnished. Under renovation (allthough no noise from this outside working hours).
The Room was a decent size, the bathroom was big, the food was excellent , the breakfast was something to get used to, only confiture. The inkeeper could be a bit more international e.g. understand english or german.
