After a long and arduous journey we were desperately in need of peace, quiet and a good night's sleep which La Tonnara gave us. The evening meal was excellent.
Staff was excellent and very helpful at times the room was hot as the air is controlled and turned off during specific times of the day.
Everything was fabulous, especially my room with its terrace overlooking the sea. The staff was professional and courteous and eager to help. The restaurant food and service fantastic.
Hotel with god service and room, epeially bathroom
My husband & I have been holidaying in Europe for nearly 3 months and have booked over 30 hotels. This hotel was exceptional. Fantastic location if you want a relaxing time, with their own private beach, beautiful swimming pool. Great restaurant. Staff even though didnt speak much English tried really hard and were most accommodating. Rooms were immaculately clean including balcony area and very very spacious.
frendlyness of the staff excellent food
We absolutely loved this place. Rooms were great at a great value. Staff was friendly. Beach is terrific.
Everything! The management, the cleanliness, the large comfortable rooms, the view, the facilities, everything! nothing!
Easy access, unlimited internet, great service identical hotel right next door with virtually the same name. Easy to mistake the two.
I stayed one night after 3 exhausting fun days in Sicily. It was such a wonderful experience. The staff continueally went out of their way to pamper me. Making sure I was happy and content. They were fantastic. I wish they had a cheaper transport to the airport.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable
AT the time I checked out of the hotel, it was pouring rain. The customer service representative stopped what he was doing to walk me to my taxi with an umbrella to prevent me from getting wet. That is what I call "going the extra mile." There was an issue with the language barrier. I am from the US.
Nice swimming pool area and terrace. Menu was expensive but food was good.Located in very quiet area with not much to do or see locally.
The hotel is beautiful and the food is not only delicious but artfully presented.
Great for the family, hotel beach, pool, kids club and lots to get involved in during the day with the animation team eg football, volleyball, table tennis, pool aerobics, yoga, windsurfing, sailing which are all included in the price of your stay.
Our unit on the beach Food disappeared very quickly from buffet and did not stay hot
The location of the hotel was excellent. Hotel was clean throughout. A variety of food was made available for adults. Staff tried extremely hard to speak to us in English as we did Italian which made it fun!! There were no dislikes however it could be slightly better signposted as the sign that is there is large enough to see ut doesnt point you in the direction of the hotel which looks like it is down a dirt track it was only by chance that we took this track and found the entrane to the hotel!! The food was not really catered towards children, although our son enjoyed himself he ended up eating only bread and pears for two days.
Pool and children activities were great. Food was limited and not enough staff spoke english.
Excellent facilility and very reasonable price
The design was nice. Hotel staff were very friendly. Food was Ok. Breakfast was not very good.
Did not like that you can not be calculated on the map every day. Or the next day. At the end of relaxation nothing could be verified.
The location close to the beach, the resort organized as village, the terrace and the garden each room has, the breakfast and the amazing sun-sets. Orientation to Italian-speaking tourists only (only the reception staff has some English knowledge, no English translation of any information, Italian TV-chanels only); not being able to sit arround the pool between 13 - 16h and at night; life-guard cleaning the beach before 19h, while swimmers are still in the sea; quite often not preparing regular things from the menu (pancakes); not taking responsibility for excursions they promote, wi-fi access limitted to the hotel lobby.
Very good hotel for relax. Near to beach, clean, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Cleanliness, friendliness and proximity to train station.
Very warm and comfortable.Helpful staff and despite being out of season extremely good and well presented food. The hotel is definitely the smartest business in the area where it is situated!
All the staff made it feel like home during my business trip. Excellent. No.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere. Clean. Good food. For us the room was too hot. We had difficulty sleeping on one or two nights
The room and the staff.
The staff were lovely, the room lovely. Breakfast cooked to order The location
The staff and the fact that in these area there is a really four star hotel very cosy. The absence of public transport means. I must use only taxi.
We stayed at this hotel because we had an early morning flight out of Lamezia Terme the following morning. The hotel seems quite new, lovely, and we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge which was a pleasant surprise and greatly appreciated. It is only about 5 minutes from the airport which was very convenient. I will say that our first impression of the neighborhood was not the best, but there was nothing to be concerned about. The staff at the hotel went out of their way to accommodate us and there was a cute pub, yes pub, a block from the hotel and we had a great dinner with the locals.I would stay here again without hesitation. Lovely!
The hotel was an excellent value for a one night stay before heading to the beach in Capo Vaticano. The staff was very helpful.
Cleanliness, location to train station and the desk staff There was nothing
booked standard double room and got upgrade to a suite at no extra cost. It was beautiful and the staff were so helpful and professional.
The daytime employees and kitchen staff were excellent The last night my air conditioning broke in the room and they didn't offer to move me to a different room nor could they find me a fan!
the hotel decor was very modern and it is very convenient for the airport. The toilet was not clean when we arrived (it had been used). The Sunday evening menu selection was very limited.
The staff was exceptionally helpful in recommending places to eat and directions to locations inside town. The directions to their hotel that you furnished were essentally useless. It took us 21/2 hours of driving time within a 15 mile radius of the city to find the very isolated liocation of this hotel. We were using a printed map and directions from your site as well as a GPS. The adress given was completely inadequate.
The driving directions given are completely wrong and the receptionist at night does not speak any English so calling to hotel and asking for help to find the hotel is pointless. There is no internet in the rooms as described. I have the impression that the staff does not always change the bed sheets before assigning a room to a new guest.
Fantastic new hotel with great staff and facilities.
Firstly, the driving directions given are completely wrong! You get send to small village about 15 km far away from the hotel. When I called the hotel, to get help the person answering was unable to speak English. Secondly, there was no internet in the room. And last but not least, in the room I was given the bed sheets were not changed. They just opened 3 weeks ago so they still may improve.
Although getting to the hotel was a task, once there, the accommodations proved to be quite good. The Cantagalli Cafe (attached to the hotel) has superb gelati and cornetti. Their coffee is also very good.
Clean, good dinner, good value, secure car parking, centrally located in a friendly town, itself an ideal location to break our journey to Sicily. No
Clean, very friendly and free wifi access.
The staff couldnt have been more helpful and friendly. I would definiately stay there again. The facilities are limited, but the staff more than make up for that. The area wasnt the best, but it was true italian hospitality
The pastry and gelato Not a good location; 10km from the airport - 25euro each way to the airport. There is nothing in the town; no restaurant, very old/dirty town. The rooms are across the street from the "very nice" reception in an old building. The furniture is very old, the bathroom needs to be renovated. The picture on the website do not reflect the room we stayed in.
Clean room + free airport shuttle No wi fi coverage throughout hotel, food at the restaurant not delicious at all, serviced by an old angre lady not speaking other languages than Italian
The weather - the quietness of area No explanation as to where breakfast was to be taken.no restaurants in vacinity
kind staff, good breakfast small room, old furniture, quite dirty bathroom
Hotel staff went out of their way to understand our English language and provide us with transportation and communication.
The staff was very friendly. The coffee bar was great gelato out of this world pastries a treat.in southern italy it is hard to find places where english is spoken the staff made a great effort to communicate.
The restraunt was very nice, swimming pool as well.
Location, very nice building None
modern, immaculate hotel in a lovely town.Ideal for the beach and exploring calabria. Friendly service and delicious calabrian food.
Close to the train station. Reception staff spoke good English. Quiet and relaxing. Big rooms.
The restaurant is bright and airy and in keeping with the hotel style, which I would describe as boutique rustic. I think it would be great for a wedding reception. The room size was small and all things could be accompished from the edge of the bed. Not easy to find tucked away, however it is quiet.
We arrived late evening and a wedding was on-going, but the maitre'd very quickly arranged a meal for us. Friendly staff. Just about the best scrambled egg at breakfast I've ever had.
Ambiance, quality of service, and professional staff. Not really; however, the wedding celebrations were interesting
Friendly, welcoming, understand English, given nice room. Parking available. Convenient to get to other towns etc. Only 20 minutes from Lamezia airport - car essential. Heating did not work properly. No hot water on last day. Restaurant closed on Tuesdays when Ryannair flights arrive in winter. Unusual weather made restaurant cold for having breakfast due to many windows which offer excellent view of the sea. But it would be great in the summer.
it was a good hotel that was at close proximity of lamazia airport. The staff was forthcomming, and the food was good it was very quiet, not many guests? may be because it was out of season although we stayed there 19th of september.
Silent place, home feel athmosphere Paid internet; swimming pool would be huge value
The grounds and buildings are very well done/restored - it feels like you are staying at a private estate away from the hustle and bustle of Italy yet close enough to see what you want - it felt exclusive.
Extremely nice personel, of which most spoke a little bit, and some spoke excellent English. The rooms were spacious and clean. The restaurant had a nice selection of food, and all of which I tried was excellent. Foodwise only the breakfast was somewhat dissapointing. Although we visited the hotel in the beginning of July, this apparantly was out of season, and due to work the pool was not in use, and the transport to the beach was not available. However, the walk to the beach wasn't far or strenuous. Without a car, there is not much to do in the region, but that was OK for our stay (we just wanted R&R), but might not be for somebody else.
very professionally operated, recommended, excellent restaurant
The rooms are well equipped and clean. The menu is limited and the standard of food could be improved to match the standard in the hotel generally but the breakfast is good.
Clean and comfortable.
Great staff especially Guiseppe. This hotel perfectly met our requirements. Also make sure you stop into the cafe accross the street - amazing pastries!
Staff members tried to help. Breakfast was good. Electrical didn't work properly. Location of the hotel is in a very run down area of town. Does not seem to warrant being a 4 star hotel, more like 3 at best.
The rooms are very new, clean and up to date. There is a nice view from the balcony area. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. It is run by a family who takes great pride in providing excellent service and they truly care about their guests. The location is great as it is just walking distance to the active city center. Nicastro is a very nice town, as are the other surrounding small towns , all with very friendly people. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent. It is a fine dining restaurant with very reasonable prices. The menu has great selections, the restaurant is upscale and they have added a nice large flat screen tv for the guests viewing. It's nice to eat at the hotel. Again... the staff was great. They helped in so many ways and are sincerely kind. I will go there again.
We needed a hotel not far from the airport and we were only there extremely briefly overnight but it was perfect.
dining room service friendly and helpfull waiter
great staff, so helpful and friendly, real family atmosphere, great city... local people very friendly... not many tourists...nice change from busy rome.
The TV They were working on our balcony so it was noisy.
Room accomodations and staff were excellent
close to everything - eating shopping - cost of taxi from airport - US dollar is low - cost of taxi 40us
The staff was very helpful. When we could not access and print out our boarding passes on the public computer, they brought out the office's computer and we were able to get our boarding passes printed. The waiter at the Restaurant spoke English and was very attentive. They also had an English menue, which was great. The food was excellent. We stayed only one night at the hotel before flying home. It is located about 8 km from the airport in Lamezia Terme in the busy downtown and there really is not much to do once you are there. Of course this did not matter to us, since we were only there for one night.
