Pros: The breakfast was very good and plenty of choice. The bed was comfortable and the fittings and fixtures including towels etc. were of a high quality, it's those extras that make your stay more comfortable. Jane was very friendly and helpful. We booked two nights but wished we had booked more, and would definitely go back and also recommend to friends.
Cons: Was a bit difficult to find off the main road as it is fifty yards or so hidden up a lane, if possible a notice at the entrance off the main road would be helpful, no problem in the end as the locals are on hand to direct you.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A delightful old farmhouse in a beautiful, quiet & very rural location. Very friendly & welcoming host. Lovely, comfortable room. Superb breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful, comfortable, attentive without being overbearing. Will be my first port of call if accommodation is required in the area again. Many thanks Carole.
Cons: This is not a criticism, more of an observation - if you have a sports car you may struggle with the farm track. I visited in a Mini Cooper Works and while I was fine (just - but also hogging one side of the track), I also have a Caterham and know it would not have made it down. To me it's not a problem having grown up in the countryside and bounced down many farm tracks, but it's worth mentioning. Part and parcel of finding a nice place to recluse away.

Food is hot and the portion sizes are really good! Definitely value for money. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Thank you!
Cons: It didn’t bother us but some of the rooms are facing a busy main road. We found it quite comforting, and the windows keep a lot of the noise out barring some of the heavier wagons.
Eithinog Hall - Welshpool - Building

9.8 Excellent (49 reviews)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were warmly welcomed by the owners to Eithinog Hall a property which has been carefully renovated to a very high standard and in a very individual way. Our room felt luxurious and was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended!
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our 3 nights of glamping at Eithinog Hall in early August (despite the Yellow Weather Warning)! Jane and Mark are outstanding hosts who go the extra mile - yet give you complete privacy at the same time. There is nothing we could have wished for that wasn’t supplied. The tent is very spacious (we are a family of 5) and the log burner kept us warm and cosy. Basics such as oil, vinegar, salt and pepper are provided, as well as, ground coffee, plunger, milk etc. We had our fridge stocked with a generous complimentary breakfast of farm fresh eggs, bacon, artisan bread, butter and coffee cake upon arrival so that our first breakfast was taken care of! Thoroughly spoiled! Our children (12,11 & 6) loved playing on the swing and we played board games (provided) while listening to the rain. There is a radio provided too. There is a stream below the campsite to play in safely ...and otters nearby if you are lucky enough to spot them. There is a steam train that offers scenic rides between nearby villages - it puffs past the campsite in the distance every now and then (very charming). Large Tesco 10mins away that stocks everything you might need. Lovely walk on a country lane to the nearby village which has a few pubs and a quaint antique shop. We had a fabulous and very affordable lunch and breakfast at Checkers Pantry in Montgomery (gourmet and unpretentious food done simply and well priced) - highly recommend (only really decent artisan coffee we found in the area). Kitchen is fabulous and had all that we could have possibly needed! Shower is strong enough to wash long thick hair!
Cons: The campsite is a few hundred meters from an A road and there is some traffic noise but it certainly DID NOT detract from the amazing experience for us! We appreciated the complete privacy and the occasional road noise was a small price to pay in return for the privacy (no other fellow glampers sharing the space).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Eithinog Hall is situated in a beautiful, peaceful place, the gardens are truly stunning, there are lots of places to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Breakfast is always delicious, we had home made fruit salad with yogurt followed by a different second course every day. The bread and jams are of the highest quality and all homemade. We love to stay here and will return again as Laura, Jane and Mark make us so welcome and nothing is too much trouble.
Cons: Nothing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was of a standard I've never witnessed before. Truly exceptional. All home made including the artisan bread. The whole stay was absolutely brilliant. Location was peaceful and relaxing. Mine hosts were up there with the very best. Bathroom facilities were stunning.
Cons: Most difficult question to answer . If I have to find something, I suppose sharing your breakfast table with fellow guests who you don't know . Such a small issue not really worth mentioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a treat to stay somewhere that comfort and design were so well thought of. I didn't want to leave the room and bathroom. Breakfast was amazing. Area was very tranquil. Lots of sights to see and nice walks a short drive away.
Cons: It was hard to get used to no locks on doors and windows but obviously its a safe place and not required. A lock on bedroom door would have been good though.

Cons: The shower needs an upgrade had to stand under it for 5 mins just to get wet.

Pros: The breakfast was top quality local food perfectly cooked and generously portioned I also had dinner the night before. Here the quality of the food (salmon in my case) did not need any fancy extras, it was beautifully cooked and so were the vegetables. Good food needs no trimmings .

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The landlady, Gill, was so accomadating. I had different times to leave each morning but she was always willing to cook something, my choice, and even offered a packed lunch if I said I would skip breakfast. The food itself was personally cooked there and then, far better than a big chain hotels offering that has sat in heated tubs all morning.
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like. If I was picky I would say that as I was here for work, the use of wifi would’ve been appreciated. However, firstly I believe they are looking to add this and secondly it was a joy to be away from that constant invasion of privacy. The 4G however was excellent so you can still be in touch if needed.

Pros: The access was quaint and through a beautiful country park, complete with sheep! The breakfast was excellent and was delivered fresh and hot.
Cons: Had to get out of the car in order to open the gate but keeping the sheep off the garden!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had to be away at 7.30 am for a family function. Breakfast doesn't normally start until 7.30 am but it was brought forward to 7 am to allow us to have some then depart. Room very large and comfortable.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location great view, silent. The self service bar and the living room, nice decorated and comfortable.
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was stupendous, as was the location. The overall ambience was quite special; faded elegance with a slight air of eccentricity.
Cons: The drive up to the house was fine for most vehicles, but if you have a low-slung sports car, it would be a definite problem, being quite rough and potholed. All rooms are on the first and second floors; I struggled with the stairs a little more than I expected (arthritic knees), though if I stayed again I'd stock up on painkillers and do some extra physio! (It would be worth it.)
