Door wouldn't lock, looked like it had been pried open before
Design, fabrics, cleanliness, beds, linens, first room had smooth, soft, quiet running a/c. 2nd room more clunky, rattle-y, noise ofnit cycling on & off. First one was a dream!! Hated to have to change rooms. Loved having the antibacterial remote-gave some peace of mind. Hope it actually works.
When we came back to our room The door would not close all the way. Not even enough to put the bar lock on. It also had two gouges above and below the lock on the outside of the door where it looked like it had been pried. Front desk didn't seem all that surprised and came up to deliver a new key for across the hall then left. The new key wouldn't work, so my 76 year old Dad had to go down to get key cards redone. Also, the remodeling was a little sloppy in the bathrooms :-/ elevators/entrances into them showed it was an old building. Also a rotten or musty smell.
The receptionist were rude. As soon as I walked in to check-in, and after saying I was checking in for the night. One of the receptionist asked, " Are you African?" I found that very rude. I would imagine someone asking every guest who walks in to Laquita something like ,"..... are you Caucasian, are you Chinese.... are you African American...." The entire time I was been attended to, the other receptionist: Chynna was her name with the " rude one" seemed cornered to complain about work. Chynna i believe didn't have a driver for the day to get the guests from the airport. My guess is the receptionist go through training to accommodate and embrace diversity. A smile and greeting of customers would create a good impression.... I liked the hotel. The room was clean but customer service was awful.
The shower had hair it and dirty towels the bathroom had water damage wasn't worth the 100+ a night
Even the normal sized double rooms were very spacious and clean. It was a great stay.
I wish the breakfast hours were longer.
We went to St, Louis for three days. The first night we stayed at the River City Casino and Hotel, it costes us 130$ for two queen bed. The room was very nice and clean. The next day we stayed here, not much cheaper the quality is totally different. It was clean but I didnt like the interior of the room.

My son and I enjoyed the pool when we were able to use it, which, was the primary reason I chose this particular hotel. The photographs were accurate and we were happy with the facility overall.
There was some kind of wrestling tourney over the weekend and the hotel felt overrun with inconsiderate teenage kids who had to be told not to slam doors and run up and down the hallways, not the fault of the hotel staff. However, when I called the front desk to have them contact one of the event group's sponsors, the situation appeared to lessen. I would suggest for the facility, added consideration for either efficient shower heads for improved water pressure or another water heater. The hot water lasted long enough for my son's shower and ran out before I could finish mine. Cold ending, slightly uncomfortable.
