Stayed here on first night of a touring trip. Really pleased with choice. Lovely small hotel. Really comfortable room with huge balcony. No hotel parking but no trouble parking on street outside. Excellent buffet breakfast and plenty of choice of nearby restaurants for other meals. Very close to lovely beach. Bit difficult to find without sat nav. We had to get directions from tourism office. The pool was quite small but we prefer beach so not a problem for us.
The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. My wife loved the hand-towels rolled into the shape of two swans placed on the bed. The general plan and layout of the hotel was quite intimate.
All ok (nothing special), but they should have a wireless network covering also the rooms, not only the restaurant
Quality of the rooms
Location and the fact that it's new and not run down Air conditioner not cold enough, and this is the second time this has happened. However, Internet in my room worked this time although it was unreliable. The shower is so small it really is too bad. It is such a nice hotel. Food did not taste as good as before. I think that they have a new chef. Next time I'll definately drive to the coast for seafood and tapas
Friendly, clean and modern hotel with excellent facilities... all at a good price. Lack of English speaking staff in Restaurant. There was however an English version of the menu available.
The food at the restaurant is presented nicely in a pleasant environment. Very nice establishment. The beds are hard which may suit some but personally I prefer a softer matress. I wish that there were more english tv channels. And tv access to services f. ex. wake-up service, billling info, pay pr. view. Lastly, I've stayed at the hotel atleast 3 times annd have never been able to log onto the Internet from my room. I usually give up and access my mail from the central lobby area.
The hotel was extremely comfortable and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. I liked everything
The hotel is in the neighbourhood of a nice beach and a promenade with bars. It is very local. The rooms are well equiped and the beds are excellent. The hotel is not easy to find, because there is no indication. It has an ideal position if you arrive by rail, but then you should know that you leave the station on the beach site in the direction of Barcelona and then take the third street to the beach.
Close to sea. Bright and adequate Breakfast poor quality - but plenty of cafes near by
Clean rooms, friendly staff, comfortable bed and swimming pool. Bad food (quality and variety), basic room with minimum outdated furniture, awful room service.
Not a lot ! Location difficult to access by car ! Accomodation was 1-2 star, certainly not Spanish 3*. Pool OK; WIFI OK We were looking to stay in Sitges, but it was full due to Bank Holidays. Calafell was a disappointing alternative. rooms was spartan; whole place seemed to need some TLC.
Good price for half board, good value for money. Good location close to train station to travel to Barcelona. Clean new facilities. Very friendly personnel. The photos on the website were a bit deceptive - the swimming pool area is not as big as it seems on the photo, and closed up by rather tall buildings. Buffet menu a bit monotonous. Noise and vibration from train line nearby.
Ive stayed here twice & its convenient, a standard family hotel, near the beach. Buffet dinners & breakfast incl. In price was very handy for those on a budget. Balcony in our room was great cause it was big. Our room was not clean!
Nice rooms (although the first one was tiny, but we were switched after the first night and the second one was great), friendly staff, free private parking and wifi. Reasonable price. The hotel address will lead your GPS navigator to the wrong place. Check the location on the map to make sure you'll get there.
The Staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast was continental and the dinner was excellent and the parking was very safe and plentifull during our stay. The satelite TV and the TV set need updating
location is good for going to the beach and also close to the shops and 3 mintus walk from train station. but if you want to sleep and not parting during the night thr room could be nery noisy as the hotel is just next to the main street. room was very old. no double bed. breakfast very simple and poor. its not a 3 star hotel. at its very best i would give it 1 star.
ok for overnight stay but not in a good location good secure paking restaurant is good
Good family-hotel. Good and large beds, spacious room and spacious badroom, nice balcony, large closet for your clothes and enough cabinets for your gear and other stuff. Good location: Close to the railway station (100 meters) which brings you to the centre of Barcelona in about 1 hour or to St. Vincent de Caldiers in 5 minutes. From St. Vincent de Caldiers there is a train to Reus (about 1 hour traveltime). The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the beach. The sandy beach is super and stretches out over a long distance (several kms we guess). Along the beach there are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. There is one small supermarket near the hotel and a small indoor market at 15 minutes walking distance. The swimmingpool is not heated, the water was about as cold as the sea. The whole day long you have to listen to music which is played over outside speakers around the pool, so on your balcony you have to enjoy that as well. The music sounds like semi-classical music that mimics the background music of the earliest Tom and Jerry cartoons. The music stops at 22:00, and the balcony-door is good soundproof so it won't keep you awake.
Nothing good can be said about this hotel! This hotel is not 4 star worthy! There was no roomservice no minibar, the room + bathroom were dirty upon arrival, I could not get a roommove that day, nor did anyone come to clean the room later on. The sheets on our bed was not changed during my whole stay which was a week, not even upon request. I know this for sure because my sheet had a cigaret burn, which I also mentioned to the front desk. I even had to pay for 6 icecubes I had put in two cups. there was no ice machine available.
spacious and well kept room and bath, nice surroundings, good restaurant attached, easy to get to
Quietness, size of the bed..and bathtub in the bathroom No
Nice rooms. Clean, large and modern with good room service. Adjustable king size beds. Friendly staff and a buffet breakfast with a large choice. Very nice resturant close by. Plenty of room around the hotel and swimming pool and under cover free parking. We would go there again. Gps location using the hotel address took us into an old part of town about a km from the hotel. The hotel is actually on the main road to Tarragona. Only the desk attendant could speak english. No english menus or instructions.
Small but pleasant and clean hotel, nice pool and garden area. Restaurant for evening dinner is located away from hotel and offers a special menu for hotel guests which we found to be very limited choice.
Hotel rating below quality of accommodation. 2nd time we have stayed. Improvement on good hotel.
every thing nothing
it is a calm area, the rrom was big enough and the bed we just love them they can be adjusted automatically for head or legs comfort it was nice
The general level of cleanliness and the kind and helpful staff. Nothing to complain about
Location was excellent. Good access to the beach, castle and restaurants. Staff was friendly. The DVD check out program was a nice feature. The bed was just a little firm.
The location was very central and the staff were very helpful. The roof terrace provided a wonderful view. The room was a smokking room as smelled quite strongly of it. There was no gym/the sauna wasnt on and the hottub was empty despite assurance it would all be working.
everything was nice, quiet and clean. 15mins' walk to railway station.
The room was fantastic and breakfast was included in the price
Very nice hotel, very clean, hotel staff extremely helpful, It was very short stay, and we liked everything
facility, cleaness nothing
basic city centre hotel difficult to find initially as it was situated on a very large roundabout and the hotel's signs were not easy to see while driving. Evening meals were not served until 8.30.
This was our first time in Tarragona, and we weanted to have a comfortable hotel near or in the city centre, not far from the old town. This hotel was an excellent choice: comfortable, efficient, fairly new, walking distance to everything important for us. The reception staff did not know the Michelin-rated restaurants in the city.
The staff was very helpful. They understood that we were all trying to pay separately so they allowed us to use different forms of payment for one room. I also liked the large size of the towels It was a little loud. Everything from voices to doors closing echoed into our room
Excellent value, easy to find Parking not in same building
Few requests about internet have been promptly addressed and fixed. I was travelling by car and the hotel was very handy close to the motorway. I was looking for something simple and I've found a very comfortable accomodation.
rather spacious double room, with nice bathroom and AC. it's rather far from city centre to reach on foot. and time spent in public transport is comparable to that when you walk. we enjoyed breakfast at hotel cafe, but the "breakfast room" in basement was a bit unplesant and unfortunately we had there dirty plates and unwashed tomatoes...:-(
Helpful staff A bit too far out, though there are buses.
location, big rooms breakfast
An excellent modern hotel set on the outskirts of Tarragona .Very friendly staff and a handy cafe by the foyer for food and drink. The room was a pleasant surprise with an excellent bed and bathroom. If you like jogging there's an excellent path beside the river you can enjoy behind the hotel. A little far out of town for some maybe, personally i prefer this option myself. I got a bus from the train station and after 10 mins. in the Hospital direction there is a stop by the roundabout outside the hotel.
Free wifi, calm area, big rooms, sound and light insulation was good, free parking places nearby Not exactly on the city center, breakfast paid was restricted
Friendly people, easy to find WI-FI connection was only partially working: still to be fully implemented. No Hotel parking available.
Splendid hotel, large room an good coffee shop next to reception. Parking by the hotel was at first difficult as its a far outside city centre people moved as they finished work so we were abloe to find a space behind the hotel. No restuarant by there is a Wok close by.
reception and bar staff were exceptionally polite and helpful only entertainment was on saturday night - poor band
the location is very good! easy to find, near barcelona (if rent a car) and of course the beach that is two steps from the hotel door
Comfortable rooms with large beds, good range of food on offer, reasonable bar prices, great location on beautiful beach. 4 coach parties arrived together during our stay!
The views... They were amaxing from the hotel room at the front of the Hotel. Staff very good and polite. The Food was not good... Breakfast was not great but the evening Buffet would be worth missing.
breakfasts and dinners were very good, personnel was nice and ready to help
Ease of access to beach and nearby towns nothing
Hotel location (next to the beach), choice of dishes for dinner, room interior. Reception staff and management attitude to guests. The indoor swimming pool is in a very bad condition, because everything are rusty.
Very nice location, fine hotel Parking spot hard to find
General impression of the hotel is great! Location is very good! Right in front of the city beach. 1 hour from Barcelona by train, 20 min to Tarragona (train station is in 10 min walk from the hotel). Convenient train stop. The design is very modern. Rooms are really big! The floor in rooms is wooden that makes walking pleasant. Food was good, varied and always fresh. The personnel is polite and kind. The walls are not soundproof. No tea-kettles and slippers in rooms. Inside swimming pool was for all-inclusive or for additional pay (as far as we understood).
convenient location for old town narrow stair case to rooms
The location and our balcony opened out on to the plaza. Wasnt sure what to expect from a hostel but we stayed in a total of 3 different hotels while in spain and this was 1 of the nicest. Would definately recommend Nothing
The accommadation was very satisfactory.Staff and management likewise.Location ideal for exploring the city.Close to beacj and station No lounge/sitting room facilities.
A nightmare.on internet price was 55 euros plus promotionof 50%discount (22 euros) after i saw how z hotel was, checkedr the regular price announced in the hotel it was 22 euros. no entrance, you pass inside a long low class bar all the way to find stairs,no reception, elevator from z 1st floor,no english, very noisy, rooms are corridors(very small n dirty)
It was a greate experince! Good price, centrally located; Advise to everyone!
Seeing Tarragona Right on the square during festival week - Loud music into the morning. Not really a negative but meant for younger crowd. Very very hot - no breeze.
Staffs are nice (although they don't speak English much). Room was clean. Tv in a room. Good location, in the old city area. Great value for the price. It was kind of cold at some night. The wall was thin. No fridge. No amenities like tooth brush or soap. But again, for the price I paid (twenty something euro per night), this is a very good hotel I can recommend!
the views from the room, however not all rooms have the same view. Take a room with views on the placa de font the smell in the gangway
location, staff, service, clean and confort place
The location The entrance is the same as the cafe-restaurant and last but not least the airconditioning or ventilator lacks.
Excellent breakfast & free minibar. Very helpful & polite staff Underground carpark very difficult to get in and out of!
The price and the quality provided for it - £70 (paid in advance) including excellent buffet breakfast. Good 40 minutes walk to the Miracle beach - however I believe there were buses to take you there.
The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are very confortable, specially the bed. The staff is helpfull and they speak fluent English. The room was pretty small.
Nice room. Easy to find. Close to airport, although we were charged €30 for the Taxi, which seems crazy for a 10 minute trip. Poor selection of TV channels
AC was not working well....
The hotel was ultra modern, luxurious and clean. The minibar was free! (soft drinks)It was in the centre of town within easy walking distance of the old quarter. Garage facilities.
The free minibar and fitness room w/sauna were great! Hotel is 20 min walking distance to downtown
The rooms we're spacious and well kept. It was 1.5km from the cathedral. Itbwas close to the main shopping drag but pretty far from everything else.
room was comfortable and v clean, free soft drinks minibar was useful for my 13 yr old son. no
This was a modern hotel, excellent restaurant, excellent staff who went out of their way to be helpful. Would recommend them highly.
Second time we've been as we love it- smart, convenient, stylish, comfortable and very good value!
Close to the city centre. There was no toilet brush in the bathroom and internet in the public area was not working always.
good hotel, central location - can walk to all the site seeing spots. internet did not work :( but they were fixing it.
Hotel is central, clean and well maintained. I found the staff to be friendly and efficient and they spoke English.
it was central for all of the city and sights the breakfast
tidy clean room and generally good facilities no
Central location, Minbar in room and friendly staff Carpet in room a bit grubby
Urbis is a 3star hotel, nothing more nothing less. In that case what you pay is what you get would be fair enough as the location is good. I am not a fan of 3 star hotels, but in Tarragona there is not much choice if you want a decent location.
Staff were very helpful. Location right across the street from the train station was perfect for my needs. If I have to be critical it was quite noisey (traffic noise), but that is to be expected given its city location.
Very good location. Clean room. Good for budget stay.
free internet access room small toilet kept running
The girls who worked on reception were very nice and accomodating and spoke excellent English. They were the nicest thing about this hotel. The front of the building is located on a good street. It is just over one minute from the most beautiful views of the beach and sea and is perhaps 3 minutes from the roman ruins. About 15 minute walk from the bus station and 7-10 min from the train station. Therefore location is prime. But the views from the back of the hotel were of another building and there was a pub across from our rooms that stayed open until 2.30am. Bins are collected at about mid-night. Rooms are not sound proofed. Rooms are dated and the wardrobes were smelly. Breakfast very expensive given that you can get coffee and crossant in a very nice cafe down the street for €2. I requested a double room with a view of the sea for my parents but were given a twin room with a view of another building .Tarragona is a beautiful, clean town but don't expect too much from the hotels. Not three star in terms of Irish hotels that i have stayed in and over priced for what you get.
The hotel is perfectly situated on the town's lovely Rambla by the Mediterranean. We had a view of the sea from our balcony which was much appreciated.
The city of Tarragona is lovely so the hotel offers a well placed accommodation with excellent staff and well sized rooms
Good hotel,very central,excellant staff
stylish decor and very well-positioned to visit the town
Location - pillows very hard and uncomfortable - breakfast expensive and not very nice (much nicer and cheaper in cafe further up the street) - coffee purchased in bar tasted poor quality and expensive - no coffee making facilities in room. Hotel generally lacked warmth, was outdated and not very welcoming.
Great location. large, comfortable bedrooms with a lovely view of the hotel's courtyard and swimming pool.
They allowed my dog to stay and the hotel was close to the old town. They allow dogs at this hotel but the manager was snotty and appeared not to like animals. The room was very outdated and the bath I was unable to use as was worn, rough and rusty. The room was very hot even in October as the air conditioner did not work and a lot of noise from the street when trying to sleep
excellent location and lovely entrance to the hotel we were supposed to have a double bed but had two single beds; some pictures on the walls would be good to create a softer tmosphere.
It's central position.
The location was superb and the price amazing. It was the best 1 star hotel I have ever stayed in more like 3 stars. Right in the centre of the old historic part within the old roman Circus. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The afternoon is best to see the roman and medieval sites as the coach tours have left!! A taxi is a must from the train station as it is up a steep hill, especially if its hot. On the way back we walked with our cases. The bed was very uncomfortable - very hard. We used the blanket after the first night under the bottom sheet and that was much better
Location and outlook from room balcony There is almost no soundproofing betweens rooms. Very noisy being able to hear the shower in the next room
excellent location - excellent meals
Excellent location, really good atmosphere right in the centre of things Parking was very close but very expensive
Helpful, friendly staff and cleanliness
Good, clean and well located hotel offering high quality at a reasonable price in a tidy city
The location was excellent, but parking is a real problem. There are no parking facilities. We were told to find space on some nearby streets, but there weren't any. Ended up parking in a public garage that cost 18 Euros per night.
Very central location, cleanes and interiour of the rooms, WC
Clean, comfortable, efficient, very good value for the money. I have no real complaints. Staff was efficient but not always friendly. I don't recommend the restaurant.
The location was very nice - you could look down at the square and see all of the people eating, shopping, talking. The room's heating seemed to be stuck permanantly on "high" and we had to keep the balcony doors open. The noise on the square was unbelievably loud with the doors open, making it impossible to sleep soundly.
cheap and cheerful, no frills, fine for a stop over, don't expect a quality night sleep. Car parking on sight a bonus. there is no fan or a/c. can't leave windows open as lots of mosquito's. i had to remove the bulb from courtyard light to get to sleep, very thin curtains, but this does help you get up early to get back on the road, drive way very narrow and tight.
Clean and friendy place, the staff is always helpful, excellent location, very comfortable atmosphere. One of the best places I ever stayed in.
nice room for reasonable price - optional breakfast all morning long railway not too far away (very noisy) - need transport to get to city centre, nothing to see/do in neighbourhood
The best thing is that I was too busy to spend much of my time there. Perhaps there should be screens on the bathroom windows to keep out the mosquitoes. The room was cold during the autumn night. My colleagues and I will continue our search for a more amicable location to meet our accommodation needs for an upcoming series of trips to Tarragona during the next year.
It was close to the centre of town, and there was free parking. Staff friendly, good place to stay for a night if you are travelling onwards. Small narrow access from the main road, and it was quite difficult to find in the first place. The long and lat co-ordinates were not correct.
Hotel staff very friendly and hospitable. Ready to aid the guest as much as they can. An excellent location. The room was reasonably well-appointed and clean, but quite small. Nice bathroom of good size, however.
Clean, towels changed on request, friendly greetings by reception and helpful when asked advice or taxi bookings.Good size room and bathroom. Shower had plenty of power but controls were poor, showers should be thermostaticlly controlled for safety.Kettle and maybe toaster would be helpful at breakfast time.
The location was excellent, you walk out the front door and the market is right there. Also it is within walking distance of all the attractions. The room also was very comfortable and spacious.
Central location, close to everything we wanted.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the location on the Rambla is excellent. The walls are a bit thin, and you can hear people on the stairs outside, as well as running showers in other rooms. Not a major problem, though.
The location was good, room was clean, staff friendly. The bed was very short and too small for 2 people. The air conditioning for the building (outside the building) was very loud (and we asked for a quiet room).
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The air conditioning unit worked really well. The room description said "balcony" but my room did not have one. The soundproofing to the room next door was poor.
Excellent central Location with very helpful staff.
Very central location, practical as comes with a kitchen. Also not far from the beach and train station
Great little hotel in an excellent location on the "new rambla" which is actually quite old. The hotel was within walking distance to the amphitheater, the old town and the Roman forum. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a small balcony overlooking the rambla. The room was in very good shape -- newly redecorated with a great kitchenette and big bathroom. Very pleasant, very clean, and nice to come back to at the end of the day. Absolutely no complaints -- we would highly recommend this hotel for value, location and pleasant staff.
The spa is really nice The restaurant has no windows or natural light so despite paying full board we did not eat there. Hotel staff completely indifferent to this and would not even consider a slight reduction in the ful board cost. - "You booked full board, so that is what you have to pay". A shame, because otherwise its a very nice hotel.
The spa is good A lot of extras to pay : parking, shower caps !! extra breakfast for children, ... even if the price of the room is more than 170 euro per day ! they do not accept Amex credit card even if you make the booking with it ?! the elevators are very slow to come. Impossible to have a late check out even for 1/2 hour
The food and the confort and cleaness of all installations Sometimes meals were too noisy for our taste, but we were in Spain...
