When you stay at Coconut Beach Resort in Tavewa Island, you'll be within the region of Sawa-I-Lau Caves. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A ferry terminal shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Pros: From the location trough the kind and helpful staff up to the delicious kitchen creations. This resort is a unique experience and definitely worth the journey and money. It is ideal for people who seek calm and family like atmosphere with a Fiji flair. Absolute recommendations.
Cons: Personally I haven't found one negative. Maybe just a quick note to some people who are use to commercial resorts like it the Maldives, this resort is more tailored towards people who dont fancy so much extravagant and high end brands and luxurious things, but for people who love to experience true culture of Fiji and who love nature.
Pros: Food was really good!
Cons: Rooms could do with some air conditioning as it was quite hot. Spa treatments are also not great, as a beauty therapist myself I expect a good standard but therapist soent half her time on her phone during treatment.
Pros: I will recommend this lovely place to my friends, it’s perfect for couples and family. It’s long way from the island, my seaplane was cancelled, thanks to Alex, he helped me book the Flyer and arranged airport pickup, we couldn’t make it without him. The moment we arrived at the island, it feels like 5 hours by Flyer totally worth it. Such a beautiful place, the staff there made us feels like home. Only 8 villas in this resort, and you will know other guests as friends.
Pros: Everything was spectacular, the staff goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. They offer various activities (snorkeling, cave trip, fishing, village trip, etc) in the area and all sorts of cultural demonstrations. It is a very private resort with only 8 bures, which was perfect for us. The outdoor shower is an experience on its own. Beach and resort are well looked after and the views are breathtaking.
Cons: It was very windy during our stay, but there's nothing to do about that :(
Pros: The most beautiful location and amazing staff. Food is also fabulous. An amazing resort which we have now returned to twice.
Pros: Food was great. The baked goods were amazing. Staff was great, and the lodging was good. The reef was beautiful and the location to the blue lagoon was great. The guys (Brian, Tuk, Amos, Noah, and Phillip) were wonderful and really treated us like family and were gracious. I loved the coziness of the resort and how we got to know the other couples and had a great time with them at dinners and tours.
Cons: The massage therapists left much to be desired. The tables were portable and wobbly, making us feel very unsteady getting on and off the tables. The relaxation massages were discounted at 1/2 off but now I know why. The massage therapist my husband had did a good job but my therapist was pretty terrible. She showed up once I was face down and disappeared right after the massage so I had no idea who it was... wondering if she was even qualified to do massage. She talked non stop to the other therapist for at least 50% of the massage and often forgot that she was even massaging. She even gestured with her hands while talking and kept slapping my back as she talked, because she kept gesturing and massaging with one hand. I've had a lot of massages and felt it was almost impossible to ruin a massage but this was definitely hands down the worst massage I ever had. The massage therapist my husband had asked if he had an injuries or things to be aware of and asked how the pressure was. My therapist never said a word to me. We had originally planned on booking spa services every day we were on the island but that idea faded as soon as we got our first couple's massage. Other guests asked me how the massage was and I had to be honest... they could have at bare minimum, quadrupled their profit on us had the spa services been professional. I had read that Tavewa Island got a lot of wind but I didn't fully realize that until we got there. The wind was constant and non stop. It was cold and you felt like bunkering down in your cabin instead of snorkeling and being on the beach like we had planned. After the first day and our massage experience, I was pretty upset and wanted to try to book at Nanuya across the way but after dinner and getting to know the staff and other couples, we really enjoyed the crew and couldn't fault the resort for the wind. If the island had been calm and sunny, it would have been an ideal stay (aside from the massages).
Pros: Amazing staff! A paradise in the South Pacific
Pros: I have no words.... this place really is amazing. We booked here because of the amazing reviews and I can see why now, and I am so glad we did. It’s so overwhelming booking a place in Fiji. There are so many choices. This place is worth your time. The service is outstanding. The staff are what really make this place special, it’s as if you have known them all your life and my husband and I really did become part of the family. No pressure to take part in anything if that is not your style though but if you do love to socialise then you will love the opportunities to meet new people. The daily activities are extensive and if there is something you would really like to do, ask Philip and he will make it happen! Thank you Philip for all you did for us. The off the beach snorkelling is beautiful and better than I imagined it would be. We saw gentle reef sharks, sea horses and a shy turtle. Vatta, Brian and Lai are excellent snorkel guides and make it so much fun. Vatta also runs an epic crab race. Thanks boys The food is amazing and the portions are large. You won’t be hungry.! The chef and kitchen staff know what they are doing. Noa is an outstanding guy and Barman who makes the best Pina Coladas! He took such great care of us and Philip made sure our pescatarian diet was catered for and it really was no issue! The food was beautiful. Yoga! Wow Lewa. Beautiful way to start the day, her mindset and the massage she incorporates really did relax me and I miss starting the day like that. Beautiful massages! Thank you. Milly our beautiful house keeper kept our room so nice and the outside bathroom is a real treat. I loved showering under the stars. I also loved the awesome towel designs haha thanks Milly. The serenaders each night whilst you eat dinner are truly talented. Thanks boys. X Thank you to Alex the owner. You have created such an amazing place to visit.
Pros: After having visited other resorts in Fiji (Paradise Cove and Tokoriki Island Resort), Coconut wins in many aspects. While it's hard to compete with the luxurious style of Tokoriki or better presented food in Paradise Cove, Coconut excels in other things. Price is reasonable, hotel territory is gorgeous, surrounded by well, coconut palm trees. Villas are very well kept, spacious, outdoor bathroom is amazing. Food is very hearty and comfy, staff is involved and very responsive. And of course the best about Coconut are its location and the true family and friendship feeling you get staying there. Having just 8 villas, all the guests get to know each other quickly. Yet, my favorite part will have to be the island and surrounding sea itself, coral reef right at the beach, amazing snorkeling, gorgeous water colors. If you want beautiful nature, a real island feel experience, Coconut is amazing.
Cons: Some of the activities can be organized better.
With a stay at Navutu Stars Resort in Yageta Island, you'll be near the bay and close to Long Beach and Devil's Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
Pros: Breakfasts were superb and the Location is idyllic. The people are the best I have ever experienced, so friendly and charming. Activities are out of this world. I will be back.
Pros: The location is excellent and the staff are very warm , welcoming and polite. They make the effort to remember your name. They sing you a welcome song and a goodbye song as you leave. It made us feel very special. They even have a complimentary welcome massage upon arrival. There are just a few villas so the experience feels very private and the other guests tend to make friends with you as you go on trips together. The island is beautiful and there is alot to explore and the beaches are so clean and beautiful. Water is crystal clear. The night sky is full of stars. The sea facing bures have a great view of the beach and you have a hammock, 2 reclining chairs and a day bed to enjoy the beach. The room has a direct view of the sea so that is nice. However your privacy does suffer. Though you can draw the curtains. I did accidentally see one of the guests in the next Bure stark naked as i walked to the restaurant for dinner (good thing it wasn't after dinner ;p) The beds are comfy and overall the rooms are quite cooling as a result of the high ceilings (there is no air conditioning but you wont miss it). The resort is eco-lux themed so i guess this is in keeping with the theme. There isnt a tv but they are kind enough to give you a mobile internet device which you can take with you even on your trips. Its sufficient i feel to keep me entertained. The activities such as snorkeling and swimming with the mantas are not to be missed. There are some really nice corals nearby. you can also kayak to nearby islands and beaches if you like. i feel the activities were well managed. You can choose to tailor your experience to suit the level of intensity you want on the holiday and i think that is awesome. Noone is forcing activities down your throat as they often do at such resorts. We took the ala-carte meal option and this worked out fine for us. We never really went hungry. We didnt go for the set meal plans as it seemed like it would be too much food.
Cons: 1.Sheets and towels look worn out. There were holes in both the sheets and towels. I dont think that is acceptable at this price point. Maybe an oversight by the hotel, but it dint bother us much, however is may be an issue for some lux travelers. 2. The Food was either very good or very bad. It seemed to depend on the chef that was on duty. When it was good it was excellent. My wife and i would want more. When it was bad. It was almost inedible. On the bad days sometimes even the bread was burnt. The seafood was so over cooked it was dry and rubbery and hard to swallow. Id say we had 3 days of good food and another 3 of not soo good food. There was a lovo night where the food was really awesome. 3. Only 2 500ml bottles of of water was given per day. I dont know how people are expected to to survive on 500ml per day per person. So you inevitably have to buy water form the bar as we were told the tap water was not ideal for drinking. I think at this price point clean drinking water should at least be free. or at least give out more free water per day. 4. In the afternoon when it gets hot, quite a few large hornets start to fly around the entrances of the bure to escape the heat. This is pretty scary if you are like me and are deathly afraid of bees and hornets. So you have to close up the windows and stay clear of the day bed on your varandah. I found quite a few hornet nests in the roof the the varandah and the curtain rails. I dint get bitten but it was pretty scary. I guess is part of the natural experience.
Pros: Resort was amazing! Staff friendly and were super helpful
Cons: Very hard to contact pre stay and they moved us rooms without telling us why
Pros: Beautiful location, friendly and efficient staff, excellent food for lunch and dinner (original Local cuisine, fresh local ingredients). Very calm location, looks like a paradise. Different activities proposed every day. Perfect destination for relaxing holidays.
Cons: Breakfast choice should be improved.
Pros: We loved how spacious the room was, as well as the comfort of the bed, day bed, and hammock. We also loved the location, and enjoyed taking day trips on the kayak to nearby beaches. We appreciated the complimentary 20 minute massage but would recommend having that treatment before committing to the full hour upgrade.
Cons: The bathroom door was a swinging, half door with the slats facing the wrong direction, which made it possible to see into the bathroom but not out. It provided no privacy.
Pros: The property is limited to only a handful of individual bures that are well equipped for an island getaway. The food was great with a different dinner menu daily - highly recommend ordering the daily catch - and portions were large so we always shared a main and starter or side (I can’t imagine eating as much food as what’s included within the dining packages). Daily snorkel trips and kava ceremony cannot be missed. The staff is truly a family that makes you feel at home instantly. They are all local to the surrounding islands and the property is under local management so the resort has a genuine Fijian feel. Big shout out and thank you to Penne, Wati, Dan, and the entire staff.
Pros: Beatufull location and privacy. Nice and friendly staff.
Pros: The staff were excellent. We enjoyed the quiet and how relaxing the resort was. The activities were awesome.
Cons: The rooms need to be more comfortable. Concrete sofas weren't. Holes in worn out sheets and towels. Food was hit and miss. Some was really horrible, some very nice but all was expensive. Could only swim when the water was in.
When you stay at Blue Lagoon Beach Resort in Nacula Island, you'll be on the beach and within the vicinity of Devil's Beach and Long Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Beautiful place. Super frendly staff, Resort is very clean
Pros: Fantastic beachfront bure and reef just off the beach. Good very delicious and good variety.
Cons: Waiting and bar staff seemed tired and not interested in getting to know their guests. This is very different to Blue Lagoon resort five years ago when it was smaller and the staff had more time to chat. Poor customer service with staff hanging around the bar rather than serving staff
Pros: Go there!
Cons: Nothing, really, its awesome.
Pros: Wow, what a location an absolutely stunning part of Fiji. The food was five star and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is out of this world and the food, again top notch.
Pros: Location and staff and Paradise beach
Cons: Location of our villa behind the kitchen with noise all day and night because of the ventilation of the kitchen
Pros: Lovely beach for walks, great sunset views, snorkeling right off the beachfront (and reef seems to be going on without an end!), great staff, many options for additional activities/trips, clean rooms and good facilities. Also, the ferry ride to the Yasawas is fun in itself.
Pros: Everything was very beautiful - the staff were exceptional
Pros: Beautiful location. Food excellent especially the a la carte nights. The free upgrade to a garden villa was amazing. Especially loved the ‘outside’ shower and toilet set up. A special place which we recommend.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike
Pros: The location was amazing. Beautiful clear water, a gorgeous coral reef accessible from the beach. The range of activities available was awesome and included many free activities like kayaking, paddle-boarding, snorkeling and hiking. Tours were reasonably priced and staff leading tours were very knowledgeable. The food was outstanding and there were plenty of options. We had a vegetarian traveling with us and she was very happy with her meal options.
Cons: The separate mealtimes for children and adults were not well received by our kids. They also preferred the food on the adult menu so we chose to pay to upgrade them to the adult menu occasionally.
With a stay at Nanuya Island Resort in Nanuya Lailai Island, you'll be on the beach and close to Devil's Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
Pros: The view from our treetop bure was absolutely amazing
Pros: Very quiet resort, somehow like home atmosphere. Clean resort and accomodation. Staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: The dining should be more variable. It was similar choices everyday. Doesn't mean more option per day, but rather changed option within the week. Maybe it is bcs we spend there whole week. If someone comes for 3 day it wouldnt recognize it most probably.
Pros: The property is ideally located right in front of gorgeous snorkeling areas that you can walk straight into at high tide. We were greeted by the lovely staff who seem genuinely happy to meet you, learn your names almost instantly and assist with any requests with a smile. The bures were airy with high ceilings in a tropical setting. Stunning sunsets and a good array of activities to opt into including a great free guided snorkeling trip. Food was lovely as well. The staff were the some of the best I’ve ever encountered.
Cons: Unfortunately some of the snorkels didn’t seem to work on the trip - the guide kindly swapped mine for his but I heard other people saying theirs were also taking on water! Also might need to improve the gluten free options as the bread was a little dry!
With a stay at Boathouse Nanuya in Nanuya Lailai Island, you'll be on the beach and close to Devil's Beach. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and a safe deposit box at the front desk.
Pros: The staff (or Boathouse family) were absolutely fantastic. I travelled by myself and the staff took me in like a little sister, made sure I was ok at all times and provided super services. They are very caring and included me into their community, so guests are more than "regular tourists" and they know you by name which gives it all a very homely and welcoming feel. The scenery is one of the most beautiful I've seen so far and there was always something to do if you fancied being active; same if you fancied relaxing/private time. It's a home away from home.
Cons: I had a great room in the hostel part of the resort. However, as I'm a super light sleeper I struggled with the rather thin walls hearing everything what's happening around me (there was a group of 20 odd students in my building, which was a bit annoying as I didn't expect to come across a school trip and it was hard to separate from them as they seemed to be everywhere in this small resort). The staff passed by my windows every morning/night to get to their own accommodation from the resort, so I'd wake up when they would opass by opening the squeaky door to the resort (chatting) to start their day as the windows are only screened but don't have any glass (which makes absolute sense in this climate).
Pros: You will struggle to find a better setting as far as location. The staff by a country mile made the stay that much more special, so passionate about the surrounding area and really went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment of being here.
Cons: Nothing to not like
Pros: Staff were friendly it was clean and comfy and you had options with food.
Cons: Nothing we didn’t like
Pros: Every moment possible the staff could not do enough to make our stay more comfortable and make sure we were having the best possible time there.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: Beautiful place at Yasawas. Rooms are good sized and clean. The beach is just amazing, with an awesome reef at just 5 min walk. Not crowded. Various activities to enjoy. The food was delicious (worth the cost)!! And, of course, the staff. They make you feel at home from the beginning. Very helpful, friendly. Good people all we meet there. We will mis you!! And we will be back for sure!
Pros: Great location considering that we had access to the Nanuya resort loungers etc next door. Great friendly staff.
Cons: For $109 the food was decidedly average. For that much money, considering we were eating at the resort anyway, I can't see why we couldn't have had what they were having from their a la carte menu. I mean, we had toasties for some meals...
Pros: Nanuya Island Resort installation are very good and we have access with Boathouse booking. Great staff
Cons: The clealiness of the bathroom in the room (mould in the shower)
Pros: The resort is at a fantastic spot, so beautiful. We stayed at the boathouse, but could use the facilities of the resort. We received the best welcome in Fiji, which is in general already good. Staff is very nice and quality of the food is good. Resort is clean, uses solar power and helps the community!
Cons: We slept near an ally for the staff, which gave some noise. Quality of the food is very good, but portions can be a bit bigger. See this a minor issues, overall a fantastic stay!
When you stay at Sunrise Lagoon Homestay in Nanuya Lailai Island, you'll be by the ocean and 5 minutes by foot from Devil's Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
Pros: To me food and evening get togethers were the highlight. They cook local food, which gives you a sense of what local Fiji family would make. I really enjoyed the story that the "grandpa" told us about early times of Fiji, when still under UK power. They brought the maps and all guests were sitting around and listening to the story. This was memorable and very special. Another highlight was three kittens that were incredibly cute and were making friends with everyone.
Cons: Nothing to mention here!
Pros: Thanks a lot to all people from Sunrise lagoon for a great time there! Keep going guys. ✌️
Pros: The staff is amazing! Lovely people and we made a lot of new friends too. The food is also really good, nice big portions. And the kittens are so cute! Oh and I shouldn’t forget grandpa, he is awesome. Really recommend this place!
Cons: The matrasses were really thin so you could feel the wood through it. And there’s not much shade at the beach.
Pros: The entire homestay property was amazing. It is simply an amazing island and it was so special to have a room which is literally on the beach. The staff are casual and offer a lot of activities/things to do during the day. Kittens they have there are so friendly and cute. Room is private and off to the side of the property. Padlock on the door. Food was amazing. Some of the best home-cooked meals I've had in a long time. Don't expect that you will be staying at a resort. We went with the expectation as per their website and communication and were happy :) shower was cold and room very basic but we were happy! Boathouse (mini-mart & bar) was about a 40 min return trip. My partner and I love walking and hiking so we loved it. All power is out by 9pm - not much to do after this time except go to bed.
Cons: 1) Report of two guests having 'stolen money' $600 one couple from the dorm and $100 from another couple's bag whilst they were shark swimming (their bag was on the boat) - Personally, we didn't have anything taken. This made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere - first couple said homestay they moved to when money was stolen confirm it happens often (again this what we have been told) - we then have been on other travel websites and see other people have reported stolen goods (not very settling) 2) Staff weren't overly welcoming - other than grandpa, no one else makes the effort to try and talk to you or incorporate you in their day to day lives, Grandpa can be unfriendly and slightly controlling (I felt at times he was unhappy with us) - this may also have been because of the missing money making him uneasy? 3) Location of the property is the part of the island that is very Choppy and windy. Not really a place you can sit down on the beach or swim - although if you go to blue lagoon (15 min walk) or go around the corner on the low tide it is better
Pros: Food was Great and plentifull, the Walk to the blue lagoon (you dont have to pay for the organized tour) we had Also a big locker for our room , place was super clean, the owner refreshed the Rooms daily! The island has a minimarket 20 min
Cons: All perfect!
Pros: Very clean room and bedding, sweet family and great tours opportunities, we did the snorkeling with friendly sharks ans we spot some very close
Cons: Our stay was too short Please note this place is not for resort people
Pros: This place was great, they offer really good activities and have a full hands on attitude. They are informative and our room was really nice. It was a great price for what it was. I highly recommend staying here. My partner done the shark snorkeling and rated it so highly. People are great. The food is amazing too, I had the best meal of my life here, dining times are fixed and everyone eats together. We played games every night with other guests and got to know them due to this. I highly recommend staying here. I just wish we stayed a little longer.
Pros: People was helpful. Try to do the best, but there is no condition to accommodate a family.
Cons: No electricity, windy and the room is dirty.
Located in Tavewa Island, Coralview Island Resort is connected to a shopping center and within the vicinity of Devil's Beach and Long Beach. Featured amenities include laundry facilities and a safe deposit box at the front desk.
