From the welcome on our arrival through superb food, unfailingly attentive and charming staff, a lovely swim, help in finding our way around Salzburg, and the care taken to make sure we got safely on our way to our next destination, I don't think Schloss Monchstein could be faulted anywhere.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location.Qiet negbohood. Good breakfast.Parking free.
Cons: No air condition
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing - the staff, the breakfast (to die for), the room (large, modern, stylish, functional, comfortable), free parking, fast wifi, TV channels (available in different languages), the bathroom (great shower, double sinks), elevator available, wellness centre and spa on site, and if you're checking out early the staff will prepare a breakfast to go for you! It was really the small things the hotel does that made such a huge impression!
Cons: In terms of distance, the hotel is close to the town of Salzburg, but the roads and traffic mean you're driving for 20-30 minutes to reach the town centre. The smart suite ipad didn't work very well, but that's a very minor thing (we didn't call reception about it because it didn't really bother us).
7.5 Good
Pros: New renovation premises
Cons: The room temperature is too high for sleeping. Although there were two fans provided in the room, I felt dizzy after the whole night blowing by the fan. It was unexpected that there was no air-conditioning in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, very clean , staff courteous and friendly. Used the small pool that was refreshing after 5 hour drive.
Cons: Needs a restaurant, gave us details of local ones Had to walk for 25 minutes but the restaurant we found was good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: An excellent hotel!! Perfectly clean . Very rich Breakfast. Wonderful staff ( Thank you Andi for your helpful advice..). SPA facilities are in a high level and are available untill 22:00
Cons: Some rooms are having a better view..
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly Staff and Good location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly team Great breakfast Quiet location Modern facilities
Cons: Would've liked a small spa with jets near the pool
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean and the finish was exceptional on the materials (bathrooms, bedding etc). Someone has spent a lot of money on this place. Didn’t use the pool as there had been a “toddler incident”. Breakfast was authentic Austrian and superb!!! The range of items offered were fantastic. The quality of the food was wonderful.
Cons: If this place did supper it would be ideal. Their breakfast home baked goods were so good that it’s clear someone knows exactly why they are doing in a kitchen. A modest supper offering would be great. There are a handful of resto’s nearby in the village. Watch out!!! One only takes cash!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything: the room, breakfast, the wellness center, and the great and friendly hospitality. We got bikes to go to Salzburg for free, we also got a nice home made confiture as a farewell gesture
Cons: All was good.

Wonderful beach area. Had free bikes you could use. Indoor and outdoor pool. Sauna, steam rooms, massage area, wonderful private balconies. would definitely return.
Cons: If I had to pick a complaint it would be the glass doors on the bathroom. If used in the night it would let light shine on whole room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect locatiin. Amazing stay. Staff was very attentive. They went out of their way to assist my mother and even drove to a local market to purchase soy milk for my breakfast. I'm in the travel industry and highly recommend this hotel
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel is in a great central location for the Festival and tourist sites in a (quiet during the day) pedestrian side street.
Cons: Having stayed in Salzburg several times before it is a mistake to assume that pedestrian zones are quiet. Especially in the morning at a very early hour there is an incredible racket of manual handling of rubbish collection and deliveries which makes it next to impossible to leave the windows open. As the rooms have no air conditioning you have to choose between a rather sticky hot night or being awoken at 5.30am by the noise outside. Better to find a hotel with enough ventilation or aircon to be able to close the windows!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful ambiance in the room.
Cons: I would have appreciated knowing that there is no entrance with a vehicle, as this is a pedestrian only cobbled street. Wifi was not great either
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I LOVED everything about Goldgasse hotel, from the service, cleanliness, location and food. This is the place to stay at in Salzburg. We can’t wait to come back.
Cons: Everything was perfect:))
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very friendly staff. Highly recommended as a superb boutique hotel. It was perfect being in the middle of the Old Town and a block from the Danube.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First class staff, location, breakfast and location. Arrived at 3am by bicycle- arrangements were made and got some real bike shop location help.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was absolutely perfect.
Cons: A little noisy in the morning when shops are beginning to open.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Good design, comfortable
Cons: Poor quality of breakfast, lack of space
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This place is charming! From the greeting with an elderberry drink and hot towel, to the cute little mini-fridge and lovely walk in shower - everything is unique and well done. The room was quirky and small, but with enough room and style. An umbrella was provided, which came in handy. The provided soap and lotion was high quality. The location is absolutely perfect!
Cons: Despite the cool weather at night, the room was warm. The provided fan helped, but under the duvet I was way too hot! A light blanket or typical American top sheet would have been welcome. Also, the pillows weren't as supportive as I would have liked. Finally, our room was outside a busy Asian restaurant which was occasionally loud with smokers nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The extremely warm reception
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great atmosphere and excellent location being central to most of not all sightseeing attractions without the usual expected overcrowded nature of most hotels. Also no children to be seen for those that want a truly quiet stay. The service was top notch, where they even had one of their employees walk all the way to the other side of town to find us when we were lost trying to find Goldgasse (google directions will not work .. there’s a security pole blocking the way! Tip: use the intercom or call the hotel for the access code!!). The location is story-book-like as it’s in a quiet alley around boutique stores. We were pleasantly surprised by the Michelin star restaurant part of the hotel, which sources recipes from an “ancient cook book” showcased in small cupboard on the restaurants wall. You’ll also wake up to the church bells each morning or fall asleep to the pleasant ambience outside if having the windows open is your type of thing. You’re also close enough for a half day visit to Eagles nest which is a historic must-see. Big thanks to Ulricke and her colleague for the wonderful stay and bants!
Cons: It was fantastic - would recommend the stay. Definitely try around September or October for Oktoberfest and/or celebration around St Rupert.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a wonderful setting with views over the lake and surrounding countryside but still walking distance into town. The room we were in was spacious and had a small balcony from where you could enjoy the view. Beds were big and comfortable. The breakfast was really good with plenty of choice and the service was swift, professional and smiling both at breakfast and in reception.
Cons: The decor of the room was a bit outdated - but not worn. Shower in bathtub was narrow and difficult to avoid water on the floor when showering. The toilet didn’t flush very well which was a bit unpleasant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfy with great breakfast. The staff was very friendly.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: It could be better to have coffee in the room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amenities were fine in general. Beautiful hotel and nearby grounds. Most of the staff speaks English (but not all) View was a plus. Breakfast was awesome.
Cons: We were aware of the lack of A/C, but we thought the weather would be more tempered. Unfortunately the days were very hot so the room was at times unbearably warm, even with fans. About the perceived “politeness”, they are at times a little bit “dry” when you make requests or questions, so I avoided interacting too much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Full of joy.
Cons: -
9.2 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was outstanding and helpful. The overall condition of the facility is extremely nice and the breakfast was excellent!!!
Cons: The problem I continue to have is the fairly new remodeled European bathrooms. For many of us taller Americans (6’3) the new “quarter” glass doors hotels are placing on their bathtub/showers is just not reasonable. I understand it makes the overall appearance of the bathrooms look larger BUT, the functionality of the mini glass is non-existent. I realize Americans shower more frequently than most Europeans and likely use more hot water which cost the hotels money. But to believe that we may shower less often because of the inconvenience is a myth. The quarter doors will allow for nothing more than the nicely attired bathroom to become unnecessarily soaked and possibly damaged in the long run. We are currently staying in a beautiful hotel in Vienna that has added a swinging quarter door to the stationary door which works exceptionally well. Plzzz consider it for your otherwise beautiful facility.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast and cleanliness
Cons: We asked for a romantic room as we would celebrate our anniversary and we were given a loud small room with view towards the parking lot.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Large, comfy room with a balcony including nice views. Delicious food! Very friendly and helpful staff. Very cool indoor pool!
Cons: This really doesn't have much to do with the hotel as they can't control these things but we really disliked the fact that the church rang bells every 15 minutes with a loud and long session every morning at 7am. This made relaxation a challenge and seems a bit excessive. The other small complaint again has nothing to do with the hotel but instead is about the lack of free public access to the lake. The pay-beach is nice and has a lot to do for entertainment but if you don't want to pay and you just want to swim or float you only have one option which is to use the hotel's small dock. It's nice that the hotel has this dock and that they provide lounge chairs and grass on their grounds but if you bike around the lake and want to jump in to cool off for a bit before continuing, this is not possible without paying.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: View from room.
Cons: Wooden floor on terrace around swimming pool in need of upgrading. Large wooden splinter in toe on first day, long painful recovery.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Swim first thing in the morning. Excellent stay.
Hotel Friesacher - Anif - Building

Overview Reviews
Visitors to Anif will find that the Hotel Friesacher is a fantastic accommodation choice. There's plenty to do nearby, with Zoo Salzburg, and Kletterpark Waldbad Anif all just a both distance away. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. When it comes to Anif hotels, the Hotel Friesacher is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is the best hotel I have ever been to
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful team, nothing too much trouble, very helpful. Particular mention the girl with dark hair on reception was lovely and very helpful. The dark haired lady who made omelettes at breakfast was so very nice and really started the day off wonderfully...along with fabulous omelettes ! Excellent breakfast, proper juice, coffee etc.
Cons: Only one thing...being asked if I would like to pay my bill in my home currency. This is a con as it always costs more and you should always pay in the Country’s currency that you are in. Please stop this,it may catch people out and it doesn’t become such a wonderful hotel as yours. Many thanks for a wonderful stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable, with a great restaurant. Bus to Salzburg right outside the door, only 15 minutes away.
Cons: No laundry facilities, no tea and coffee facilities in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent.. more than what I expected especially the underground parking which takes you directly to the room. Only 15 min from salzburg center
Cons: None
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Just as expected. Pool was a saviour in the terrific heat during our stay, but unfortunately no air con in rooms. Most staff pleasant and helpful - one girl on reception not so much. Was given one of the smallest double rooms on the 1st floor of the main building, which was actually quite large enough and well-fitted, big tv, bath in bathroom, big balcony overlooking Untersberg. Breakfast buffet very good with everything you could wish for including cooked-to-order eggs.. Underground garage a boon and easy to use. Spa area well appointed with free herbal teas. towels, showers, sauna etc. Pool temperature perfect.
Cons: For price, I think they could let you have the odd coffee free from the self-service machines in the bar. We were roundly told off for preparing to help ourselves... "Only for conference guests!". Not everyone wants to eat in the post restaurant every evening, but the Einkehr beer garden a disappointment as the food was not particularly traditional and was overpriced.. Menu very limited. Over 10 euros for four tiny cups of not very interesting and very similar dips with just a few slices of bread to put them on was poor. Went out to Sankt Leonard most nights to eat.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and relaxing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Although a bit late, they provided me the breakfast. Excellent choice of different continental food. What impressed me was, they took the honey womb directly from bees and let it collect the honey in a dish so if you would like, you could also take the wax with the honey. It reminded me on my childhood:). All in all, one of the nicest hotels I’ve visited (high value for money) and I travel a lot.
Cons: No remarks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place. The hotel itself was wonderful felt more like 5* than 4*. Rooms, decor, comfort, attention to detail all 10/10. Location excellent. Just a short walk (5 mins) you are in the parks around Salzburg. We had booked as an overnight stop for journey back to UK but we plan to go back and we absolutely want to be staying at this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast, gluten-free bread and organic sheep yoghurt available!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent family hotel. Breakfast was perfect. All food have farmers food quality. Anif is beautifull village. Herbert von Karajan grave are there. 20 min by bus to Salzburg downtown.

Pros: The location could not be more central. Nice breakfast choices.
Cons: The price of the room was very high indeed as it was the festival season
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Another excellent stay at the Boutique Hotel am Dom. It was extremely busy in Salzburg due to the St Rupert celebrations but the hotel was a haven of calm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is equipped and furnished imaginatively in a blend of modern and traditional styles. The service provided by the staff is friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel offers a varied, well-balanced breakfast. The location is excellent for guests who would like to explore the history and culture of Salzburg. I would recommend the Boutique Hotel am Dom without hesitation.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: AMAZING Location!! Right in the heart of the old city. Super friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing and a deal at 10-12 euros. Room was spacious, plenty of closet space, modern and interesting decor. Room A/C was the best we had in Europe.
Cons: open bathroom and not a real door on the WC. If you and whomever you are staying with get up at the same time it's fine but otherwise you will hear everything going on in the bathroom. Towels were small and thin...this was an upscale place and the towels disappointed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Within walking distance of the historical sights.
Cons: It was very difficult to drive our rental car there to drop off luggage. It was impossible to find so we had return the car and take a cab there because the hotel is on a very narrow kind of alley where no cars can drive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great small boutique hotel with wonderful breakfast.

Brimming with authentic Austrian charm, Hotel Goldener Hirsch, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Salzburg, is a cherished symbol of exceptional hospitality and celebrated tradition. Dating back to 1407, it embodies an enduring symbiosis between original country house and luxury boutique hotel, woven into the very fabric of Salzburg life. Located just steps away from Mozart’s birthplace, in the heart of the city’s evocative old town, Hotel Goldener Hirsch inhabits Salzburg’s fairy tale setting with natural grace. Defined by its hunting lodge heritage, trophies and mounted antlers populate the walls, whilst the crest of a leaping deer is a reoccurring presence. Smartly-dressed associates, wearing uniforms reminiscent of national Tracht, welcome guests with a rare warmth that resonates across generations.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly staff and service throughout our stay. The location is fantastic with very clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were very helpful and accommodated all our requests
Cons: The High cost of breakfast which although providing an excellent choice and first rate service at €130 for 4 adults and an 18 month baby was unsustainable for a 6 day stay! Fortunately there is a huge choice of local facilities offering far better value to commence your day.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Best hotel we stayed in, roomy bathroom, location was truly excellent, staff knew your name, was always friendly and extra helpful
Cons: Beds were a little soft, restaurant food was not great for us
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location close to everything you could possibly want to see or do in Salzburg. Very polite and attentive staff - we were even given a tour of this historic hotel and finished with a cocktail. Some might not like the country style décor, but it represented the authentic traditional Austrian style which we enjoyed, and it added to our whole experience. The restaurant was excellent (but expensive!)
Cons: It was a strange set up in the hallways, and even in our room, for example the placement of furniture. However this was due to the historic and evolving nature of the hotel. and did not really create any problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a completely charming and absolutely delightful hotel. The best thing is it is traditionally Austrian and hasn't become a sleek modern hotel. However the conveniences are very modern and very lovely. Staff exceptional and the food was delicious.

Pros: Outstanding hotel - staff were efficient and friendly as well as thoughtful. Room was full of character and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere of the 600 year old hotel was fascinating. We ate room service food which was excellent - we were able to pick locally popular dishes as well as the usual chioces on Hotel Room Service menus.
Cons: Parking was not convenient by the hotel, but the hotel took care of it all with free valet parking, so this was not a major issue.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location is excellent, very central.
Cons: The hotel is located on commercial street of the city, an area with restricted car access. Consequently, I lost at least 30 minutes trying to identify the address where I could not reach by car. Finally I called the hotel and they indicate me a different address for car navigation and so I got behind the hotel. Then I realized that the hotel has no parking and I was sent to a public parking (relatively close to ~ 200 meters). A very unpleasant experience, amplified by the fact that rain in that day and walk with luggage from the public parking to the hotel it was not the favorite part of a holliday day.
7.6 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel. We enjoyed staying in the 'old' part of Salzburg.
Cons:
6.4 Good
Pros: Great location - easy to walk to everything.
Cons:
6.4 Good
Pros: Wonderful staff and perfect location
Cons: The carpet, TV stand, small sofa and small table and chairs felt a bit cheap and out of place with the rest of the hotel

Cons: very noisy at night

Pros: Very nice hotel and nice, helpful and not-annoying personal. I got late check-in (came there around 22:00, took my room-card from the box near front door). Other hotels in the area doesn’t have late check-in, so that’s your choice, night-traveler. Beside that, they have good decoration in the hall, helpful flyers, maps, bus schedule and etc. Thanks!

Pros: The Hotel Pitter is an excellent hotel and I would recommend it. Location was good half way between the main station and the old town, within easy walking distance to both. A couple of minutes from panorama tour pick ups too. Staff were super, friendly and helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and panoramic views of Salzburg and the mountains . Perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is definitely #1 place to stay if we'd recommend to our family/friends. The room is very clean, comfortable, and new and much spacious w.r.t euro hotels. The location is very good: 8 min walk to main train station, and 2 min walk to main bus station and tour bus station. The Hotel did let us checkin early at 11:20am although we arrived early by train at 11am for Hallstatt tour at noon. The staff are very nice and helpful. There're festive in Salzburg when we're there, so we got the advantage of being quiet/cozy in the hotel and enjoyable walking from/to noisy old town. In fact, it's very good experience to walk across bridge from hotel to old town at night of our 1st day there and at day of our 2nd day.

Featured amenities include express check-in, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was huge and the variety of pillows was great for people who may need more than one (like me). The bathroom was lovely, really clean, all the appliances worked a dream. One of the little things I really liked was when you put the room key into the wall to activate the lights, the television turned on displaying a fish tank scene, which was just a lovely little touch which put a smile on my face. I loved how the little balcony edge was glass, as it made the room light and airy.
Cons: The only thing I found was that when using the hairdryer in the bathroom and when having the hot shower on, the bathroom itself got VERY warm and humid, to the point we had to open the door for 10 minutes before me or my partner went in for a shower. If there was some kind of fan system that was easier to locate that would have made it much better. Also, this is only a small thing, but as an English guest, it would have been a dream if there was a kettle and some teabags/coffee in the room, we can’t survive without our morning cup of tea...!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Bed is comfortable

Pros: Out of the city centre, quiet with plenty of local amenities, bus to city centre literally outside, great value and helpful staff. Great shower, clean room comfy beds with two single duvets (double bed).

Cons: There is no kettle in the room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and good value

Pros: The lobby is extravagant, the public parking lot is located one block away. The breakfast was good, but it lacked any variety. (the same every day)
Cons: We were in hotels of the same franchise before, and were generally satisfied, but the room in this particular hotel was very small, it was very hard for 2 person to move in the room.
