Very nice breakfast buffet, if a little pricey. Helpful staff. Easy check-in and check-out. I'm sensitive to perfumes and their cleaning chemicals were a little heavy in that area - but I think this wouldn't bother most people.
The welcome from the staff was wonderful. None
It was clean and the staff we kind and helpful.
location, comfort, and nice staff price of petit dejeuner
Excellent service, very good location, very good value for money, rooms are comfortable, modern and clean. We recommend it warmly
A perfect stop-off point. Clean and modern, free wi-fi was a big plus for us. Good private off-street parking.
good value, comfortable and lovely view of city
We liked the fact that the hotel was central and that parking was available at a very reasonable cost immediately opposite the hotel. We arrived early and were immediately allocated a room. Nothing
The service given by the staff was excellent. The selection at breakfast was very good. No comments.
choice of restaurants nearby. secure parking. not having tea / coffee facilities in the room.
Nice modern clean room The room in Tour in france was too hot and we couldnt open the window very far. When we did it was incredibly noisy. The girl on reception was sharp, abrupt and I didn't like her tone when I asked to see the room first. She treated me as if I was a nuisance..
Nice & quiet location, staff were very friendly, setting was lovely. Although the food was very, very good, it was expensive in comparison to the room rates.
Beautiful chateau and grounds. Toilet seat in our room needs replaced badly. Reservation was quoted at 85 Euros, but they charged 98 Euros. Continental breakfast on their flyer in the room was supposed to be 8 Euros and they charged 14 Euros each. We never noticed until after the checkout.
Great looking place, pool and tennis open to Orangerie residents. None.
Most staff spoke some English. Lovely terrace and pool. Good breakfast. We stayed in a luxury room in the castle bit (which was very small for a castle) and although the bathroom was large there was no shower - just a bath with hose attachment but nowhere to attach it to the wall. Room had very high ceilings which made it a bit cold looking - not very cosy. The waiting staff were almost too attentive - felt like they were watching you all the time. The gourmet food was not to my liking - black olive sorbet and pigeon legs just didn't do it for me. The bread and butter was very nice though.....
firendly and relaxed
the staff were very helpful Advertised was the use of the internet and I had to go behind the reception to use it as there was none available anywhere. Also we were told that breakfast had finished and we had to ask before recieving any, it was only 8:30.
Helpful reception staff Nice room 12pm Check out! no tea or coffee making facilities (but that's expected in France!)
At the end of our holliday our stay was was a surprise for my wife the perfect French experience and a lovely memory to take home with us We were treated so well by the staff in the resteraunt and made to feel very special thank you everything was perfect
The outdoor pool was excellent and the Châteaux was a very interesting and looked very dramatic. The position was good, near to Perigueux town centre The room (no. 6) was a budget room and lacked facilities, there were no 'Chateaux' features in the room. The carpets were dirty, wallpaper was hanging off, there was no fixed shower, there was no tea/coffee making facilities and the breakfast was a poor buffet .
ambience, decor and food made for a memorable stay
The reception was fast ,friendly and efficient. The parking on-site was important. The breakfasts were adequate. There is incredibly little nearby of great interset to holidaymakers;it's a 20-25 walk to the characterful old town. The value was reasonable.British visitors expect to be able to make a cup of tea in their room and that is very common in British hotels but absent here.We had to bring a kettle,milk,teabags,sugar,spoon,etc.. Please see above comments
This hotel is in perigueux on the edge of the dordogne France, there are lots of local restaurants in perigueux. The receptionist did not talk English and our French is very basic, but this was not a problem.
very good position - close to old town - you can reach the city centre on foot in a few minutes. car park available free of charge . nice room , clean and quite big. no problem if you come back late at night. car park quite small , one night we had to leave the car outside
Position - quick walk into Perigrueux Parking Breakfast was very easy
the value and the welcome
Generous sized room. Brand new and very modern shower/WC. Quite (as advertised). Continental breakfast buffet included a more varied choice than I have seen before.
It was all very simple and the breakfast was good. THe local brochure about events in the region was out of date - July 2010. Up to date information would be helpful.
Modern hotel, friendly reception. Room very good, with excellent bathroom. 2 basins. Plenty of storage space. Good parking at front of hotel.
Location, clean hotel
well located (5-10 mins walk from down town) - free parking for guest - free wireless internet - very friendly staff & owner - breakfast is good value for money (7 euros) far better than usual 12-16 euros buffet. - quiet place for a cental hotel location. No doubt that we'll go there again next time we have to pass by Périgueux
ambiance,delightful staff.relaxing luxurious surroundings,absolutely enjoyable experience.
The location is the prime asset, on the banks of the Loiret, yet only 5 miles from Orleans centre
Everything about Le Moulin du Roc was wonderful. The staff, the lovely property, the food, etc. We stopped in between a night further south in the Perigord region and the Loire Valley. I would have happily stayed another night or two to relax!
Old traditional feel about hotel and furnishings - antique but quaint. No
sauna didnt work.
Nice rooms on 2nd floor good atmosphere very good restaurant very nice staff good service
Comfortable rooms, individually decorated to a high standard Only one small comment - the toilet was separate from the bathroom, at the other end of the bedroom. No washbasin in toilet, necessitating crossing the room to the bathroom after use!!
Comfortable, Convenient base for touring the area. Very good restaurant. Half board menu offers no choice at dinner - one has to like duck!
All the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They provided the best meal we had eaten out in our three weeks in France - possibly the best ever!
Room and peacefulness
The only available shower is above the bath but there was no shower curtain or screen hence water everywhere. Most of our requests in our booking were not available on arrival but some became available after strong words. The lady in charge was unhelpfull, unpleasant and you felt as though you were being ripped off. She is the wrong type of person to be in charge,
Sophie was extremely helpful in making the reservations and was very prompt about answering my email inquiries. The bed in our room was not very comfortable and there were no TV channels available in English, not even BBC news.
Superb hotel, well located, easy to find, but quiet and calm. Very professional staff, food outstandingly good. Rooms attractively decorated, good size
our room No 37 had a fan running on the roof ,which kept us awake most of the night
We had a lovely stay! All the staff made us feel very welcome and special. We would also like to mention the chef - Jon Luc - the food was delicious!!!! We always stay at the Campanile chain as we travel through France and as far as the staff is concerned this is one of the best!!!! Congratulations.
its allways good to stay at a place you know in adwance what you will get for your money. staff was wery helpful getting an electric heater
Convenient location with a fully operating shower and kettle Poor air conditioning unit, compact rooms, no lift and poor value for money in the restaurant in the evening. On leaving the hotel and retrieving the cases from the floor of the room, the cases were covered in dust !!!
Handy and convenient
Beautiful setting overlooking a river with wild duck, geese ans swans. Private, safe and secluded. Good restaurant. The bedroom was very dark as they now use the "green energy" bulbs. There was no WiFi connection despite it being advertised.
Reasonable price menus with good choice and excellent food. Friendly staff.
The evening meal was good but expensive, it was a shame that the bread was so hard you couldnt chew it and the waiters were very very pushed, . the balcony with lake view was nice. the cobwebs in the bedroom. the carpet was very poor in 115 and the bathroom tiles were very badly cracked. lack of pillows. no tea and coffe facilities in bedroom and being charged 2 euros for one.
Lovely spot great room with large balcony overlooking the river The had finished serving food in the dining room by 9.30and as we arrived late 9.40 we were unable to dine.
The front desk staff were very helpful. The food was excellent in the restaurant. Grounds were truly lovely! The rooms were comfortable enough for a one night stay. Hotel interior could do with some serious updating-it was all rather tacky inside. Restaurant server was a bit surly and could do with learning some people skills..considering the food was so good it's a shame.
The setting is idyllic. the best rooms overlook the river. Parking is plentiful. The staff very pleasant and helpful and the receptionist when we stayed was English which I felt was necessary when choosing the menu as the others surprisingly could speak no English at all. We would have no hesitation in staing there again.
The location on the banks of the river and the peace and tranquility of the location are superb.
In truth, nothing at all. Sorry! There were 6 rooms booked for our group and we were locked out of the hotel on the second day due to a malfunction of the door lock. We had important items to collect for an event that was due to commence just 40 minutes later some 5 km away and could not find anyone to open the doors and let us in. This was appalling and unacceptable by a 'reputable' hotel group? The breakfast was poor. No bowls for cereal, plates, onlywarm water for tea etc.. Had to cancel one room which cost 39€ even though I cancelled it over 24 hours in advance!!!
room was very clean, rates were excellent did not know there was no hotel staff -- internet should have given instructions for checking in
The hotel was easy to find. It was well situated for an overnight stop on a journey through France.
Good value at these rates for an overnight stop Room very cramped even in comparasion with other premier hotels I have stayed in.
Breakfast was spartan. Having AC was great. Limited nearby eateries.
Clean and cheap Air conditioning was pathetic
cheap and chearfull, but everything you need for a stop over Rooms very compact, directions were not very good hard to find in the dark.
easy book in with friendly staff, simple yet sufficient for one night sop over purpose
Clean and efficient In a remote area of an industrial estate. Nothing open late during the week.
Charming, idyllic setting - perfect for relaxation. Both the adult and children's pools were very clean. Very quiet at night and well worth paying a little extra for the large terrace overlooking the lake. The €20 dinner is superb (I had an excellent crevettes, canard and creme brulee to die for at this price), opting for a lakeside table rather than the well-appointed dining room. French customers have left similarly good comments about the food on French websites. Will definitely return - already planning the next visit. I would have liked the lake to be floodlit at night, to appreciate the scene from the terrace.
Room clean and tidy, dinner was excellent and overall hotel was v good value. Parts of hotel are clearly well worn.
one staff member in particular was extremely friendly and helpful in helping us arrange certain matters
the shower was exellant in the room trying to leave was an issue, the credit card machine was not working and the reception clerk was useless ,had to runup the road at 7am for cash to pay the bill, nearlylate for flight
Closeness to railway station First room shawed had been used by a smoker despite smoking ban
Staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfortable. The hallways were in a terrible state, I hope they were in the middle of renovating..?
Good breakfast, helpful staff. Relatively easy to find. Location in a sketchy neighbourhood - did not feel comfortable going out after dark. No parking in an area with very limited over-night parking options. Elevator had no sensors on doors and was very aggressive - I had bruises all on my arm from trying to keep it from slamming shut on my friend.
I accommodates a young family. Quiet and clean. No complaints
The stqff Was lovely and very helpful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was fantastic. I couldn't get the tv or phone to work properly and the room smelled very strongly of perfume, probably to cover other bad odors.
very good buffet breakfast, well worth the extra money. The hallways on all floors seem to be currently undergoing major wiring, plastering and plumbing works which was a bit off-putting at first as we were not made aware of this. Our rooms, however, were fine.
good organisation : when arriving late, my key was at my dispostion en I could go to my room immediately. Very professionnal
The hotel is right at the station so very convenient if travelling by train, although a 15-20 minute walk to the main town. The room was a decent size and comfortable. The hotel offers free wifi. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom was a little squashed (the toilet is a bit close to the shower cubilcle) and there is nowhere to hang a towel. The hotel is not manned at night. It seems the hallways are in the middle of being decorated, this may be why the rate was discounted at the time of my stay, it didn't really affect the experience but was a bit messy and smelly on the walk to the rooms.
