10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best B&B's we have ever stayed at. Absolutely superb breakfast, make sure you don't eat to much the night before. Home cooked crepes, home made jams, croissants etc. All so delicious. This will really set you up for the day. Room was lovely, with a seperate kids room if you need it. Service was excellent. A little gift of excellent home made blueberry jam as leaving. If you are visiting the beautiful Tronçais forest, this is the best place to stay.If I could give it 11 out of 10 I would. Tres, tres bon.
Cons: There was nothing that we didn't like, superb.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing! The hosts were extremely nice; even though we announced to come after the designated check-in time. The living space was also beautiful, very clean; we had our privacy and everything we could have needed :)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our experience at Chateau de Peufeilhoux was extraordinary. Our hosts were so welcoming, and made us feel particularly special, as visitors from Canada. The chateau itself was amazing, the surrounding grounds and flower gardens were totally fantastic. Our tour of the premises was fascinating. Overall, our visit will be one of our fondest memories of France, and we hope to return in the near future!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guided tour was excellent and it was a unique and fantastic experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. It was a great for us and the grandkids. The hosts are fantastic and the owner played piano for us....he is very good.
Cons: All fantastic...
7.1 Good
Pros: Stunning location on a hilltop, with super views over the forest and surrounding land. We could hear the owls hooting at night! Included was a tour of the chateau the next morning which was amazing hearing the history of the castle and the family. Loved that this is a family run business and all the furniture in the chateau belongs to the family. Great breakfast with fresh pastries and honey from the chateau itself.
Cons: Just being picky, but the pool was very cold and the gardens/grounds could have been kept a little better.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Charming atmosphere and rooms. The tour round the castle was limited, but what we saw was fun, but opening the dungeon rooms and showing the castle's secret passageways and rooms would have made it all the better. Using the pool on arrival was great! Continental breakfast under the trees in the courtyard was also lovely.
Cons: One of the en suit showers did not work but as we had a second bathroom this was not a problem for us as a family with children, so we did not mention it until the next morning. The recommendation for dinner was expensive, but the quality was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When we gave our names in reply to his question, the charming car park attendant guided us away from the public car park to a safe, secluded spot. He then took us to what looked like the oldest part of the castle, through a door in a turret, up about twenty steps (we have mobility difficulties and he apologised but explained he couldn't do much about the steps) and led us to our room. We gasped! It was SPECTACULAR! He offered to show us the other rooms whose guests had not yet arrived - they were even more spectacular (but beyond our budget). It's sad that we may not stay again since we seldom travel in this region, but we would certainly go out of our way to stay here again given the chance. The courteous, smiling service continued throughout our stay (beautiful outdoor breakfast in the courtyard) and, guess what, the smiling car park attendant turned out to be the owner! He gives a daily outdoor music concert (weather permitting) and chambre d'hotes guests get a free tour of the castle many of whose rooms have been restored and equipped to original appearance and standard. Look again at his website and click on some of the features (especially TV news clips. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to be missed. Try it. The restaurant opposite the entrance is also excellent. My wife (who, some say, is extremely hard to please) tells me we will certainly find a way to come here again. Wallibarbe
Cons: Everything was just perfect: the accommodation, the gardens, the art exhibition, the orchidarium (rare flower garden), the views, the service. Great! Downside? We were only here for one night.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: More choices for breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely welcome and a wonderful place ! Don’t believe the rare comments saying the owner is unwelcoming, those people must have been very badly educated ! The owner and his son have been perfect hosts!
Clos Charmille - Meaulne-Vitray - Bedroom

9.2 Excellent (138 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming hosts. Wonderful location and very comfortable and tastefully decorated room. The breakfast was fresh with excellent local produce and the table d'hote dinner freshly prepared by Marie France was excellent. Highly recommend. It all exceeded my expectations. A very comfortable stay in a charming old property renovated to a high standard. Thank you both very much for a very enjoyable stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great location and safe parking for the car and trailer. We had a warm welcome from the owners and were shown to a lovely room which was plenty big enough for the three of us. I particularly liked the decor in the room which was very carefully thought out. The breakfast was very good with excellent service.
Cons: The only thing that could be improved could be maybe have a little bit of music playing in the background during breakfast as it did seem a bit quiet when we first went in and this could have added to the ambiance.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The reception was very friendly and helpful and during our stay it remained the same. Wonderful people who owned the house. Beautiful surroundings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Our hosts were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. It was so good on our journey to Spain that we booked a night for our return to the UK. Can't praise the hosts and accommodation enough.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Croissants were excellent. The breakfast was lovely. The pool was really clean and a welcome relax.
Cons: Nothing, it was all great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and interesting hosts. Very clean and comfortable room with a great view over the garden and down to the small river. Location extremely peaceful and bucolic. Excellent value for money.
Cons: Everything was great.
7.9 Good
Pros: We used the filter system to ask for a room which took pets (x1 small dog) On arrival at this property we were therefore shocked to find the hosts advised they did not take pets as they have their own dogs to manage. However, they were very obliging and rearranged things without us so that we could stay. Another very good thing was the beautiful breakfast with wonderful local freshly sourced products.
Cons: We did not realise when we booked that the 'living area' was a shared resource with other guests (so we were very surprised when another guest walked in) a couple of hours after we arrived. Whilst not a problem, it could have been awkward. Perhaps this needs to be highlighted both in the booking and at the property?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely B&B hosted by a nice couple. We also ate dinner with Marie & Pierre and the food was excellent , as was their warm welcome .
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We didn't stay for breakfast as we prefer to stop a bit further into our journey. Everything else was good. It was the third time we have stayed here and we will certainly return. We always have their "menu du jour" which is available in the evening and for 13 euros is extremely good value for money!
Cons: Only that the double beds are rather small! But not a huge problem!

Pros: Bed very comfy, nice bathroom, super clean. The family who run the hotel are all lovely as are the dog and the cat. The food is excellent: classic French cooking, not rich and show-offy. I love this place and come here every year. The breakfast coffee is possibly the best in the whole world.
