Loved the upgraded remodel which played off the best of the 70's bones of the old hotel. Great color scheme and the dining areas were very well decorated. This place is loaded with character and charm, unlike most modern chain hotels. Great shower! Comfortable beds with crisp sheets.
The rooms could use some additional upgrades to match the excellent style of the lobby and restaurants.
clean well maintained rooms, friendly staff
loud mechanical system. don't know if it was HVAC or the bioler/laundry down stairs.
This hotel couldn't have been more pleasant. Everything was spotless, beds were comfortable, staff welcoming, and the restaurant very good indeed. I particularly enjoyed a GREAT shower! The hot breakfast was everything we could want, with a different scrambled egg combo and different style potatoes each day. In my opinion, this place is very superior to the big chain hotels.
I can't think of any negatives about our stay.
of all the places we've stayed the Inn at the Commons has the most civilized and clean breakfast area. The food was prepared well, we ate off of REAL dishes and the area was constantly picked up and cleaned. I was really impressed with this most during our stay. Our room was immaculate. Always appreciated!
The bed wasn't the most comfortable, the pillows were bad.
The included breakfast was better than average.
Could just be the time of year, but quite a few roly poly bugs in the room--some dead in the bed, some wandering around. Otherwise this motel was fine.
Clean rooms, balcony overlooking the creek, fairly decent continental breakfast, good sized room and nicely appointed. Seemed quiet - heard no noise from the freeway at all.
Terrible signage - you find the registration desk by accident; long walk across the parking lot to the lobby and breakfast area; even a long walk to the ice machine.
The person at the desk was very friendly and warm. The room was good sized, clean and the bed was comfortable. The room appeared to have been remodeled as the buildings themselves were obviously old. Nice bathroom well appointed.
The lobby was separate from the rooms so it was a cold walk to breakfast. The freeway was half a block from my door.
You can tell it's an older property, but they have made nice upgrades to the rooms, including electronic door locks, nice bathroom finishes and decent beds with duvets. Breakfast area was nice with an expanded continental breakfast included in the room cost. The area is becoming more pedestrian-friendly as the "Commons" area of downtown is getting built and improved, and Bear Creek runs along Riverside for a walking area.
My room was directly upstairs from the laundry room, so I could feel some vibration from the machinery, which was a little weird, but that was only as I was getting dressed and packed in the morning. The elevated freeway is directly across from the 2nd floor rooms, but I didn't notice the noise at night. They need a better sign for the registration area, though. The restaurant entrance is prominent, but the office is sort of hidden around the corner from it.
This is not a Red Lion Hotel !!! The hotel ownership changed about one year ago. Please update this in your records so that people are not under the impression that this hotel is affiliated with Red Lion. The hotel is now called the Inn at the Commons.
Awesome place to stay, very comfortable beds
The bed was comfortable. Too bad the traffic noise kept me from actually sleeping in it.
This hotel is right next to the freeway and the noise kept me up all night. The rooms face an ugly concrete parking lot. I was charged a $25 "incident fee" up front. I've never heard of such a thing. Why would they need to do that when they have my credit card on file? The whole place had a sleazy feel about it.
The room overlooked a busy highway and was noise.
Room was clean Staff was friendly
bed had a hole in the middle that you fell into refer did not work breakfast ran out of coffee and eggs, no one around to refill on Sunday, was much better on Monday Building old and out dated It has not been the Red Lion for over a year, now is called Inn at the Commons
We were pleasantly surprised when entering the room to find such an updated room. Everything was terrific.
first of all kayak has name of hotel wrong, no longer red lion, it changed a year ago, it is inn at commons, made it hard to find in the middle of night. older place, tub leaking water. tight parking.
Comfortable and clean. Quiet. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great value.
Motel-like feel with outdoor room access.
Bed was comfortable. Free shuttle from the airport was nice. The lobby and breakfast area were large and comfortable and choices were pretty good
Room was not as updated as it appeared in the photos, which made it feel a bit overpriced.
The rooms were very quite and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful with local directions. I would recommend the Commons.
