Pros: Room, people, food and activities are all incredible!
Pros: Being travelled quite extensively around the world and specially in Asia, I can say this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Amazingly helpful staff, great food, naturalist accompanying all tours, Tharu cultural dance at dinner all adds up to a wonderful stay. The hotel upgraded us to a suite with a private pool and a plunge pool inside the room, very sweet of them.
Cons: Terrible road to get there, as it is under construction. Recommended to call the hotel and ask for directions before hand.
Pros: Good communication with the hotel before arrival and a lovely welcome. Very kind staff. The eco-friendly bungalows are super comfortable, cutely designed and fit beautifully into their surroundings. Stunning location on the bank of the river and wonderful excursions are offered. Nice spa and one of the best massages I've ever had. We spent four days here and could have easily stayed another four. It was our favorite place of all the places we stayed in Nepal!!!
Cons: Restaurant staff could still use some more training. Limited English makes it difficult to communicate. It would have been nice to have the pool heated; it was too cold to use.
Pros: Everything as expected. Accommodating staff, warm reception, good management, an excellent relax day and we were lucky to be there during New Year celebrations
Cons: The road to get there was not asphalted, our driver was freaking out....
Pros: Warm and attentive staff, great jungle lodge set up, proximity to Chitwan Park and being in nature.
Pros: Fantastic staff, well organised and fun activities and a great lodge in a lovely location.
Pros: The staff was excellent. The location couldn't be closer to the park. The facilities were great, including the spa.
Pros: Wonderful staff Treated like family
Cons: Nothing pure
Pros: The lodge and the experience are definitely worth time and money. We went on a jungle walk and spotted rhinos and other animals. Food was simple but delicious. Staff is helpful and friendly. Highly recommended for 2-3 nights stay.
Pros: Staying at this resort exceeded my expectations. I was welcomed by the activities manager and one of the naturalists and they made me feel like a valued customer straight away. The staff was fantastic at organising personalised activities, providing information and always making sure I had everything I needed. Every member of the team went out of their way to create a positive and personal atmosphere. I loved the jeep safari and boat safari and the surprise bush dinner on the last night of my stay. The rooms were great: I loved the lay-out and colour scheme, but the best thing was the little balcony with views of the Rapti river and forest behind it. Highly recommend this lodge if you're going to Chitwan!
Cons: If this lodge wants to be a pioneer and really go for the eco and sustainable tourism stamp it should lose the elephant ride activity option and provide paper straws instead of plastic.
With a stay at Tigertops Elephant Camp in Kawasoti, you'll be 27.1 mi (43.5 km) from Harihar Temple and 27.3 mi (44 km) from Nagar Baan. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Well run.
Cons: As it is cold in winter, there need to be heaters.
Pros: Staff could not have been more helpful throughout our entire stay from the guest relation officers, naturalists and restaurant staff. The food was wonderful at every meal- even the packed lunches for full-day excursions were delicious!! Safari tent was
Cons: Wifi only available in the dining room and was somewhat unreliable.
Pros: The staff were amazing. The pool was tranquil. Food excellent and the Jeep safari superb
Pros: The personalised nature tours; birding with DB. Good food.
Cons: Access roads to the property are poor. Having booked a car for our airport transfer on our departure, we were asked whether we minded sharing a car with 2 other guests for the 1 hr long journey; to be fair, when I objected, they gave us our own car but the question should not even have been asked in the first place. The driver also wanted to stop off enroute to meet his brother and asked us to wait while he attended to something....unacceptable.
Pros: Large room in the lodge. Nice food - especially the lunches, which are served outside. Great to see the locals being employed. Lovely to spend time with the elephants in their camp.
Cons: This lodge seems very expensive for what you get. Overpriced drinks. We spent three nights here and did manage to see a rhino on the last day. It would have been nice to see more animals in view of all the walking we did. The people in the village very close to lodge partying every night. Extremely loud terrible music till 11 pm. Not great when you have to get up early the next day.
Pros: Once arrived, you can just put everything behind and enjoy the nature and the services. You don't need to worry about anything because the staff has arranged and thought about everything for you !!!
Cons: Perhaps the rough road journey.
Pros: We very much enjoyed our stay there. What we particular liked is the lodge's old-school charm, the amazing job that was done to keep the Tharu style, the staff and its professionalism as well as the well- prepared food. The elephant walking tours offer you the chance to walk inside Chitwan national park something that cannot be experienced elsewhere. We got to see Indian rhinos, langur monkeys and all kinds of birds. This special place is very much linked to the story of Chitwan's national park and very much part of the surrounding village life and it offers responsible elephant experiences. We hope to visit again!
Pros: I loved the place - everything from tranquil setting, eco-sensitive design incorporating traditional Tharu elements to fantastic people who run the lodge and do their best to make your stay memorable. Nature activities on offer are diverse and well-organised, and the guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. The lodge is carrying out a lot of important conservation and elephant welfare work, as well as supporting local community. Since all activities are included in the price, it is in my opinion a fair value for money. The memories you take with you are however priceless. Be it watching sunset on the river while elephants bathe in the water next to you, looking for elusive Bengal tiger on safari jeep ( and yes, we saw one!), enjoying delicious meal while chatting to your fellow guests about your day's adventures, or watching traditional Tharu stick dance sitting under the stars - you will never forget your visit to Tiger Tops. I enjoyed staying in safari tent - you really feel you are in nature, but with all modern comforts. Jungle walk is a fantastic way to experience Chitwan, and get 'close and personal' with wildlife. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and take very good care of their guests.
Cons: Nothing. Except that I had to leave
Pros: Eco-friendly and socially responsible resort. Well-kept surrounding, good food, and very nice staff.
Cons: Expensive. Worth noting that the main activities (Jeep Safari and boat safari) and entry to the park are not included in the price.
Pros: Fantastic safari experience walking with the elephants, the guides are wonderful and great at finding the rhino's and tigers. Alas we did not see a tiger only the paw prints. We got within feet of a male rhino and it was amazing. We asked for Nepali food for dinner and it was delightful. The staff are so attentive and helpful. Very open to customizing your experience during your stay. Nadia is the shining gem of the safari and makes everyone's stay as perfect as it can be.
Cons: Was not a fan of our first impression of the resort, the manager met with us and he seemed very distant and not comfortable with guests. Orginally denied our request to have Nepali food at dinner. Thank goodness for Nadia who we met later and made our stay wonderful.
When you stay at Sarang Wildlife Sanctuary in Meghauli, you'll be 6 minutes by foot from Royal Chitwan National Park. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. RV/bus/truck parking is available onsite.
Pros: Facilities and activities were incredible, staff were friendly and so helpful. Hope to teturn
Pros: Proximity to the park. Remoteness from the place and private accessability to the park was great; a truly secluded place. The safari trips were spot on and saw great wildlife!
Pros: Perfect Location.
Cons: Swimming Pool was not ready
Pros: Hospitality of the stuff make the stay exceptional. especially the way they accommodate your need. The tour guide Mr. Komol is exceptional Birder and very good companion. The owner Mr. Subodh is wonderful person who also arranged personal safari tour for all the guest. he is also a nature enthusiastic and wonderful photographer. the support staff tried their level best to make sure all of the guest are comfortable and their needs are met. the foods were ok but go for the Nepali cousin when you are here. the cottage is beyond my expectation and beautifully located towards the jungle with a great veranda where you can enjoy serenity of nature. a perfect stay for nature lover.
Cons: I would prefer a easy chair in veranda and also they should introduce few booklets about the jungle and its wildlife.
Pros: We loved everything! The location was beautiful. The staff and owner were so helpful! The tours were mind blowing - especially the jeep safari and elephant bathing. We would definitely recommend this place and like to come back in the future!
Pros: The staff were absolutely incredible. Everyone treats you like a friend. The safari guide, Harka, was like an encyclopedia! He knew so much about every animal and plant we encountered. We are over the moon about Sarang, it was the experience of a lifetime!
Pros: Nice Location in Chitwan and Breakfast might my Buffet or not limited to some items only normally my Kids can't gets Cornflakes /Oats. Including Boiled egg might be better.
Pros: The property is beautiful, rooms are very nice, pool was awesome on a hot day, Harka our tour guide was amazing, wildlife sightings were great, owner helped us out with transportation and was really great to deal with, best part was that the tours were basically private, we saw other tour groups crammed into jeeps with everyone talking, our Jeep safari and walking safari were awesome! Very close encounters with lots of rhinos and so many other animals.
Cons: They didn’t really explain anything to us on our arrival on how the whole resort functioned, we didn’t realize it was set meals, no menu to choose what you want for dinner. They also didn’t tell us upfront that all the tours/activities/meals/drinks would be subject to a 23% tax which really pushed the price up for our whole stay. Staff are all very friendly but just need another few training sessions on customer service, there were about 27 staff members working everyday and there were only about 3-7 guests staying per night yet they didn’t really explain much to us about the prep/itinerary/options for activities/meals. Overall cool place though if you’ve got the funds to spend on an expensive few days in the jungle.
Pros: The staff and owners were very friendly at all times, coming to check up on us several times during meals and when bumping into us at the lobby of bar. Overall friendliness is 100! Location is also serene in the less crowded corner of chitwan.
Cons: Unfortunately there were sometimes miscommunications and the staff would proceed without understanding the request clearly. Few issues we came across during two day stay: Dirty pillow in room: replaced and fixed immediately. Tours: this is where the resort makes money which is fine but it seemed everything was up to bargaining to get the “best price”. It was a bit tiring for what should be a relaxing place. The value of the tours differ as well and can be quite expensive relative to the price of the room. Taxi: on our departure the hotel arranged a taxi to take us to Kathmandu, unfortunately the driver drove us to town about an hour away then started changing the terms and negotiating the price asking for double. It was a sad ending to an otherwise fun stay. We ended up leaving the taxi and going by bus because it was such a hassle.
Pros: They have a swimming pool! The staff is very good. The setting is wonderful.
Cons: Breakfast could do with a bit of improvement - especially for vegetarians. The swimming pool needs more cleaning.
Located in Bharatpur, Kasara Resort - Chitwan National Park is within a 15-minute drive of Ghaila Ghari Community Forest and Gharial Breeding Center. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, express check-in, and express check-out. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We had a most relaxing time at Kasara, the grounds are quite beautiful, the proximity to the Chitwan National Park is great. It feels like a great exclusive resort. They have 2 elephants at the resort, who are incredibly well looked after, watching them their bath in the nearby river was a fantastic experience. Our guide to the park, Suraj Dara made our safari experience very interesting, we were lucky to have him accompany us to the airport and we learned so much about Nepal during that journey. It is rare to see a place where all working there seems to be happy, it was a delight to be there, The food from the restaurant was very good too, my only suggestion for improvement would maybe to try ot make the bar area more convivial and to build on the decoration, it was very plain in comparison to the rest of the resort. Amazing time there highly recommended stop on your visit to Nepal!
Pros: The room was stunning, very relaxing atmosphere. The food was great very tasty and good portions The spa was very relaxing I had a massage by Laxmi and she did a great job! The activities inc jeep safari and elephant safari were good value for money, a good duration of time and very informative. All the staff were extremely attentive and pleasant! Especially the manager Sunaina who really goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome! The whole stay was wonderful, the room was very clean and had some nice touches to make you feel like you're in nature. The entire stay was slightly pricey but definitely worth the money and I will definitely be coming back if I'm back in Nepal!!
Cons: Nothing not to like!
Pros: Resort itself is just amazing ,all villas are separate in two, bathroom and rooms in between small pond with sofa is so magnificent. Nature everywhere so calming and peaceful, service is good, delicious Nepali food in restaurant, big pool and area, resort is big you could just walk around like a park, nice villas with private pool. Neiha (hope I spell it right) was a great help for us in everything even after we left resort we keep in touch and she help us with few issues. We stayed in end of July and it wasn't raining much, weather was just perfect. Our toddler had lots of fun exploring all the nature around.Thank you for helping to organize for us our anniversary and for the delicious cake.
Pros: Beautiful jungle rooms with good a/c. Really nice rooms, bathroom outside is a really nice touch. Relaxing lodge with many water features. Safari is good (not an abundance of animals but almost guaranteed to see rhinos). Really nice and helpful staff.
Cons: I was very sick during my stay and just wanted to sleep but the cleaners kept coming in every hour from 8am. When I finally got up they started cleaning around me whilst I was still in my pyjamas - a little inconsiderate. (The rest of the staff were all very nice and helpful with lemon and honey). As the lodge is in the middle of nowhere you have to eat their set dinner and lunches, good food but overpriced for Nepal. Also quoted a taxi from the airport 3 times more than what we actually got on arrival, and I didn’t even try and bargain the taxi down.
Pros: The resort was beautiful. The staff was very nice and attentive. The activities were reasonably priced and worth it. Our guide during the stay, Madan, was the best, helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. The rooms were clean and beautiful. I will most certainly stay here again if ever in Chitwan.
Cons: Internet was quite spotty, but in the end not a greater issue.
Pros: Fun for kids. Nice staff. Good food. Everything you needed for upscale 2 day jungle retreat.
Pros: This had to be by far the best stay I have had ever! Their rooms were to die for and would be perfect for a couple! The staff was extremely kind, polite and we had the staff manager plan our entire stay at Chitwan. We actually booked only for a single room as we traveled as family and thought of adding an extra bed. But we ended up getting 2 villas for ourselves right next to each other for our entire stay. From start to end everything was perfect. The food every day - lunch and dinner was a different theme and it was amazing. I'd highly recommend people to contact the team by email/ phone rather than booking through booking.com as they can offer you a much better rate with activities around included to be honest. However, overall my stay at Kasara was the highlight of my trip to Nepal and probably would love to go back someday.
Cons: Absolutely NOTHING!
When you stay at Chital Lodge in Meghauli, you'll be 7 minutes by car from Royal Chitwan National Park. Featured amenities include laundry facilities and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Chital lodge is a fantastic place to stay. Quiet location in the village next to rice fields & a couple of hundred metres to the community forest. Bishnu & his family were fantastic hosts. The food was so fresh & tasty, with the rice & vegetables grown in the garden. Bishnu is also an excellent guide & i went with him on a walking safari into the community forest & saw rhino. He also arranged for an elephant ride. The price was extremely good value.
Cons: The accomodation is very simple so if you know you need luxury, this might not be the place for you .
Pros: I have travelled all over the world and am normally fussy about where I stay. I worried about coming to Meghauli, about whether I would find anywhere nice. I needn't have worried. Bishnu is a world class host... I had trouble getting to Meghauli, when my bus that was supposed to take me there told me unexpectedly I needed to get off 1 hour away from the town. I was terrified to be left without any means of getting there. Bishnu sent someone immediately, calmed my nerves on the phone AND called the bus company's owner to complain on my behalf! I honestly don't know what I would have done without him. Furthermore, when I needed to withdraw money he drove me on his motorcycle 30mins away to the nearest ATM. In fact, Bishnu does everything he can for his guest's comfort. Both Bishnu and his wife and wonderful, polite and kind people and create a homely, safe environment whilst giving you your privacy. Chital Lodge itself is serene and peaceful. At night all you hear are crickets and the occasional hoot of Chital deer in the nearby river. In the daytime, only birds. This is the kind of place you stay when you need to recharge and restore your soul. It is rural, but this adds to the charm. The food is excellent (and that comes from a very faddy eater) I genuinely felt sad to leave Chital Lodge. If you are considering Meghauli as a destination to base yourself at to go to Chitwan I highly recommend it and if you do go, the ONLY accommodation you should consider is Chital Lodge. Thank you for everything Bishnu....don't forget to look after my dog and cat friend for me :)
Pros: Bishnu is a great host!! I've never met such a welcoming person..he made sure everything was perfect and he treated us like family, the stay itself was also really good! The place is in a quite area in the village where you feel the peacefulness and serenity of nature. I loved everything about this experience and I would definitely come back again
Cons: Nothing..everything was perfect!
Pros: The owner (Bishnu) is very friendly, helpful and is also an expert guide. The traditional bamboo rooms are essential but make you feel close to nature in a special way. Food is freshly prepared and amazing! The position (Meghauli) is great: less touristic but more wild animals! We are not expert adventurers but we felt safe and confortable here. Thanks a lot to Bishnu!
Pros: Bishnu and the whole family are there to make you feel welcome. Everything is done according to you and what you want to discover of the jungle. I highly recommend this lodge !! Thank you again for such a good time
Pros: Amazing place Bishnu great host and lovely family Good quiet location worth the trip He’s an excellent guide we managed to see 9 rhinos and 0 other tourists!! Bishnu took us around his village and invited us to local celebration His and his wife’s cooking amazing and offer to cook whatever you like He used to be chef in Dubai Have attached other reviews that people write at his home, 3 books full of amazin reviews!!
Cons: Cold shower but he is upgrading soon Canoe ride bit over priced and we were unlucky only to see one crocodile Everything else amazing have given 10/10 rating before but this is a genuine 10!

Pros: the Breakfast was ok, the broken window in the unit with the smoke getting in was an issue
Cons: Money oriented...i have stayed in far better hotels at that price...
Pros: Ac was not working. It was ok not that good
Pros: Friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent location.
Cons: Nothing as such
Pros: The friendliness of the staff and Manager.
Cons: The air conditioner would not cool sufficiently.
Pros: Breakfast was good, location is great.
Cons: Water in Swimming pool was dirty so we didn't swim even though we wanted to. Rooms were not the same as expected while online booking. However, the rooms we were given were also good and we had fun. It would be great if they show the correct room pictures while booking.
Cons: Room bathroom were lickage fooding was worst staff were not in their words
Pros: Good location
Pros: Peaceful environment, clean and comfort room and food was excellent.
Cons: No proper meal timing.

Pros: The wooden house and the garden are very beautiful. It is a huge place and you are staying between 3 Nationalparks. The place is totaly not touristic what we really liked. You can see how the people are living here and everybody is so kind and Happy. The hosts where wonderful, it is a very nice Family. They help you in all cases, the food is very delicious and they organized also Jungle walks/ trekkings in the Nationalparks. During this, we saw rhinos, monkeys, deers, birds,... there are a lot of nice activities, we can have small walks in the neigbourhood, go to the waterfall, cook with the housewife, go for Shopping at the local taler, swim, ...
Cons: You have to know that the local bus from Barathpur takes 2+ hours. But you are crossing the chitwan national park and it is very beautiful. The hole bus ride is a big adventure! And the people in the bus where so kind. At ones you arrived at the place, you know why you are coming here.
Pros: the host is incredibly friendly and helpfull, quiet, beautiful place, not touristy, amazing service, fair prices
Cons: It takes a long ride to get to the hotel
Pros: Helpful staff.
Cons: Only hot shower on one day of my stay although there is gas water heater. The owner kept sending me messages asking where I was after I had checked out. There wasn’t a clear description about the food available. No variety available.
Pros: I really loved how I could experience rural Nepali life, totally away from touristic sites. Even taking a long ride on a local bus to get there was a quite interesting experience. It is a long ride, but you can definitely feel how the everyday life is like for the people living there. The family was very helpful and caring all the time. They even invited me to their grandparent’s home to celebrate the Mother’s Day where I could see the traditional way of life. Visiting villages and seeing how people live were big cultural learning for me. I also went to a river walk and jungle walk, and both were quite fun and exciting especially when we found some animals so close :-) unfortunately I couldn’t see rhinos but that means I have to come back to this place I guess ;-) If you want to experience authentic Nepali life, this is the place for you :-)
