The restaurant was convenient and very good. Rooms quite large and very nice and clean. Convienient parking as well. Staff of the restaurant made too many assumptions before letting us speak, so we missed trying the kind of local beer we wanted.
lovely setting had trouble finding the hotel and language barrier was a bit tough
We stayed in ''apartment 1''. This apartment has two rooms and for two more extra people, they set up a sofa bed in the living room, but it was comfortable to sleep in. In the living room, there was a mini kitchen also. The staffs are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is very close to the Blautopf. The elevator in the hotel was a plus also.
Spacious room- very clean and tidy No problems
Lovely and clean, great food... a bit pricey but worth it The walls were rendered and very rough. Our 2 year old fell against the wall and grazed himself badly. As ours was a family room and the bunks for the children were against the wall this was a bit dangerous.
Our family room was very big and comfortable. The location was great, very quaint small village. The staff was friendly. A slight language barrier, but that really wasn't a problem.
Room, bathroom,TV at room, the little, quiet town, lift in the hotel Some rooms are with old stufs, also in the room for breakfast.
Convenient, great breakfast, friendly staff, free internet, traditional feel, informal and easy going, very pretty location in the town parking is a bit hit and miss, limited psace.
Already the third time when we stayed at the Ochsen. Excellent food, great breakfast, quiet, traditional yet refurbished and modern rooms, highly recommended. ...the restaurant is closed on Sunday
great value great location
Calm and nice place to relax.
environment waiting time terrace
Everything OK. We'll be back !
spacious room, good breakfast anxious garage, better to park outside
Very nice huge room and hotel. Very good restaurant.
Great breakfast It look like 3 star hotel, not for yang people.
Very nice hotel with adjacent hot baths and spa. Ample free parking and an excellent restaurant. The staff was accommodating and all at reception spoke English. Just a short drive from the very beautiful Bad Urach old town.
Nice atmosphere, excellent restaurant
Breakfast, definitely outstanding Unfortunately I was disappointed by the room. Too small, the bed was against the wall and the TV set too small. I felt not confortable and I could not sleep
Friendly staff, very clean hotel
A recently updated hotel, close to the motorway and easy to find. Good food, large room and clean bathroom
It is very convenient to find from the motorway. It has expanded and is no longer so small and friendly.
Very stylish yet comfortable. Nice and quiet too. Easy access to the motorway.
Great staff in a very ambitious and dedicated hotel. Easy access from the motorway. Will be a stylish and classy family hotel once the renovation is finished. The restaurant was not open the night we stayed. The room was really hot, which made sleeping difficult. A large-scale renovation and expansion is going on in the hotel. No elevator.
It is very good for one day stay.
The friendly staff, the clean and pleasant room
Good and clean rooms and friendly staff No
Convenient location close to the motorway. Comfortable room. Good breakfast Quite a lot of road noise from village traffic.
The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Excellent restuarant on-site along with a full-service bar.
If you are arriving by car make sure it is a small one as the hotel parking is a bit of a tight squeeze ! the restaurant guests use the limited parking space during mealtimes and the small car park fills up quickly..but it also empties when they leave.if this is an issue for you maybe by booking ahead the staff might reserve a parking spot..you can but ask.A pleasant and clean hotel with a nice breakfast and helpful staff. The sun was bright during my stay and the room curtains were thin and let in a lot of light, this is not a problem if you want to be woken early but an option of a blackout curtain might be appreciated by some guests.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, free parking, free internet, comfortable room. No elevator in the wing where my room was located, so had to carry luggage up stairs.
Very good hotel, with excellent spa center, very nice surroundings, especially if you are going to spend time in Metzingen shopping centers.Personnel was very friendly and food in restaurant was very tasty and well made.
Nice location, pleasant staff, good food in restaurant, nice sauna and relaxation area very slow service in restaurant. No longer has a fitness room although mentioned in the hotel description
The staff was very helpful and courteous. The food was fine and the beer from the Brauerei was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable, and the free internet was a real plus (and one of the reasons we chose this hotel). We always prefer family hotels to the large corporate ones, and this was certainly a family affair . . . with a personal touch. To be honest, the styling of the rooms wouldn't really be to our taste, but we are all different . . . and it certainly didn't bother us any.
We were very impressed with the friendly and helpful approach of the staff - we phoned to confirm our arrival and the owner offered to prepare some food as the restaurant would be closed by the time of arrival. The room had an interesting open plan layout. The balcony was a bonus. Very comfortable, clean and a 'design' feel. Breakfast was very good. The location is semi-rural/village location. Parking was not a problem.
Renovated brewery turned into modern boutiquish hotel/restaurant. Good dinner/breakfast. Clean, new, stylish comfortable. Staff was very kind. Hefe Weisse is great, Helles not so much. 15 minute drive from Schoss Lichtenstein and Barenhohle/Nebelhohle. Half the bedroom floor was concrete, so sounds echo. The hallway door closing can be heard in all rooms. The village is in the middle of nowhere.
the hotel was very stylish set in a quiet country setting the restaurant was very good the restaurant closes at 19.00 on Sunday which we did not know prior to arrival on a Sunday
The room was very nice. The staff were very helpful and the food in the resaurant, good.
Friendliness of the staff was exceptional, quality of food was great, the beers are excellent, and the rooms are very original and stylishly designed
The staff where really helpful, the food was excellent and the rooms very clean and comfortable From the outside you could easily pass by this hotel and miss out on a real gem of a hotel.
Friendliness, willingness to serve, efficiency. Very noisy room, if you choose economy, with the main highway running all night.
We liked the warmth and friendliness of the hotel staff. Parking underneath the hotel was available. The food was good and well presented. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.
Good facilities and restaurant. Breakfast good with real Bircher museli. Has a lift.
The food cooked by the restaurant's hotel is excelent. The room is clean. Internet has worked excelent. The location was a little bit far from our visit point.
A very well-run comfortable family hotel with friendly staff. The bedroom was a good size, and we were also given a sitting room with a small balcony. The restaurant was excellent and we were able to eat outside in a delightful square.
I am completely satisfied with everything. It was superb.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Urach is such a beautiful little town and everything was in easy walking distance. The hotel restaurant featured some really good Schwabian dishes, which we enjoyed.
Tasty meal in restaurant. Nice suite in trditional german style for reasonable price.
location was right in the centre of town. bathroom was poor size, with light and extractor fan not working. The room had a musty smell
Bar was not open Sunday evening
There is a village about 2 km from the Hotel with good restuarants. In the evenings it is peaceful since during our stay there were only about 6 rooms in the Hotel of the over 30 rooms were occupied. If you are not German speaking just stay away. At arrival their was no one at the hotel to assist. Only a message in German. After figuring out that we can phone the number, none of the staff could speak English. Only after mentioning that I am going to write a review, the staff/owner remembered that theycould speak and understand some English. There is no staff in the evenings to assist and reality differs from the 4 star pictures presented.
Location was excellent with beautiful views.
I was concerned when we turned up and the reception was locked, but a quick phone call brought the owner to let us in. There was a lack of staff on duty but all the facilities were very good and the breakfast excellent. We would stay again even though we christened it the "Marie Celeste"!
We arrived pretty late and hungry; although the hotel restaurant was closed the owners offered us a good dinner at their tavern, thanks! Unfortunately I must admit it does not correspond to 4*. The rooms are pretty old-fashioned and, from my point of view, must be renovated; breakfast is rather poor. When we came downstairs about 9.00 breakfast was not finished but there were almost no meal left and the stuff did not even try to fill in what had been eaten.
The extreme helpfulness of the lady who welcomed us. , who also helped and advised us when having dinner in the down the hill restaurant ( which was part of the complex.) . Perhaps as a result of ( see below, ) we got a very nice room with a beautiful view. The fact that in the first instance there was no reaction to our presence, which made us wonder about it all. This was taken away when : see 3 above!...... NB I have not looked at other guest reviews.
Very calm and quiet hotel set in a beautiful location.
This hotel, though to my knowledge not correctly described as a proper 4 star hotel (as stated), is a great option should you find yourself in need of accomodation in its region. The rooms are very spacious, very clean and offer a cosy feeling. The whereabouts consist of small German village, on the outskirts of which you can find the hotel. It is a perfect place for relaxing, taking a breath of fresh air, going outdoors or just enjoying the unobstructed views of the surrounding hills right from your room. The breakfast was kind of basic, otherwise fresh and tasty, but plain (even by non-German standards).
