The hotel is integrated in the medieval city walls with a magnificent garden and an excellent restaurant. They have a pottery shop that sells lovely artisan painted terracotta - a shame we flew, so we could only bring some small items... Staying here is a huge treat!
Hotel staff was fantastic, rooms were beautiful and the wine at the hotel is great!
The place was clean, the room was pleasant, the swimming pool was an advantage, and the staff was very polite and helpful.
The hotel is very charming with all the oldstyle deco. The restaurant was in fact also booked for weddings. The spa was nice even if very small and not to be used for more than 2 persons at the same time. The lounge is bigger than the whole spa area itself! The cost of the spa (jacuzzi, sauna and steamroom) should be included in the price which is high for a 3 star hotel. Also, the fact that weddings make noice until late night is not acceptable for other hotel guests, sleeping right next to the restaurant court yard, where they have parties. The cleaning of the room was another issue. There were really dirty also on the areas outside the room (in front of room 144).
We stayed at this place four years ago.The facility had a certain charm to it. The breakfast has deteriorated a lot since we stayed there four years ago. We bragged about the excellent breakfast and convinced our fiends this was a great place to stay with us.we also told them bout Paula. Regretfully she is no longer involved with the breakfast and we certainly miss the old room.
great hotel kept in charming old fashioned style. nice indoor pool, and great restaurant. evening waiters at restaurants are very friendly. the staff is not helpful. at the reception we were told that breakfast was until 10.30 arrivingg after 10.00 nothing was left and waiters took out the food in front of us, saying we were late and not offering to bring us any food as croissants that they had left and brought to the kitchen. also the cleaning ladies were not informed about departures, but came knocking on the door, whwn we told reception to inform them about departures so they don't disturb we got a really rude answer. really bad service and a shame for a good hotel like this.
This hotel is inside the Chianti zone. few kms from Florence. I found a relaxing context in a romantic scenario. The resturant have a good offering of typical Toscana food. The room was clean, in old style and the employee was kindly. Maybe the hotel need more indication on the roads of figline valdarno. I found it only with the help of my GPS system.
It had good parking, nice pool, not too far from the City It was extremely noisy in the morning and impossoble to relax in the bedroom - could hear other guests, in fact a huge argument at one stage! The chamber maid came into our room on three occasions even though the do not disturb sign was on. We were admittedly late checking out of the room and received a very abrupt phonecall from the reception area - we found the staff slightly rude.
Friendliness and efficiency of staff.
The staff were friendly and tried to be very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Parking was free and on-site near the front door.
good staff attention
nothing in particular The very poor breakfast
The hotel was excellent in all respects - comfortable, elegant, in an excellent location for Florence and/or the Chianti region. We would happily stay there again. Nothing.
This is a top quality hotel. I stay in 4 star hotels each week in the UK and this one lives up to these standards. Great service very friendly and Quality furnished room. well done
The reception staff were friendly and nice while the room was spacious and clean. The hotel deserves its good review. Breakfast choices were ample. The location was perfect for me as I planned to go to the nearby Prada outlet.
excellent location. never seen a lake side hotel where all rooms are lake facing. this was because it was surrounded by lake on all 3 sides breakfast could be better
the quiet lake setting, the well kept hotel grounds, plenty of parking spaces, the very good breakfast served with a smile the very very tiny and extremely badly designed bathroom, with very poor shower facilities on top of the WC! (room 13 thus perhaps unlucky, other rooms may be better).
Friendliness of the staff. Comfortable accomodation just as advertised. We were made to feel very welcome. No
Lake and nature of the Unreal nice, friendly hotel staff Hotel staff did not know any word of English but are very friendly
The staff was nice and helpful. The place was deserted and very quiet. That we were overcharged for the drinks we had at the bar. There wasn't much nearby - you had to drive to other areas
Staff are nice and helpful, especially the one who served breakfast! We went back at 1:30am after celebration of the New Year and the owners were waiting near the front desk (not open for 24 hours but can call if the door is locked after midnight). The nearby environment is good and tranquil.
Very pleasant quiet location, staff very friendly and welcoming. Decent- sized rooms, which had been kept cool despite the heat.
The location is outstanding. The breakfast was also very good.
The hotel has a nice location; however, without car it would be difficult to reach. We stayed there only one night, so couldn't really experience the hotel deeply. What I can say, that beds are OK, absolutely no problem with them, room was clear, breakfast is served personally, but they bring you as much as you want (before you asked for it). Only one point: size of bathroom; I don't know if it's the case with other rooms also, but in our room the bathroom was so small, that you easily can have a shower while sitting on the toilet. Since we stayed there one night, it was not really annoying, but for longer time I think it would have been.
Excellent restaurant and very accommodating staff
the setting and the villa in general the room - clean, but really basic and in need of re-decoration
its location, very helpfull staff and the room itself. everything was perfect.
The views from the hotel are amazing. The food is excellent.
Unbelievable scenary and a beautiful hotel
location, peace, tranquility, the building and its decor Inconvenience having to make own arrangements to locate a taxi to take me to and fron the villa
The room was large and had a wonderful view. Staff were great and restaurant on the premises, served fabulous dinners. Some of our best in Italy and well priced. Grounds were lovely. having breakfast served in our room was not convenient, given the room was not set up for eating.
Pleassant place No
uitstekend cuisine It was summed up by the brochure....beautiful and expensive glossy colour photos, but nobody had taken the trouble to check the use of English. One lift (blocked by cleaning staff) and no stairs to the room, inadequate parking, poor lighting in the room all showed the lack of attention to detail, despite the fortune spent on the building. However, the staff were (mainly) charming, though this was the first time I had to carry all our own bags to the room while the young porter walked nonchalantly beside me.
The Villa is impressive and we really looked forward to our stay. The rooms were great -- clean and good sized. Unfortunately the smoking from other rooms always came into our room which we noticed especially at night. The jacuzzi and pool weren't heated so couldn't be used. At least having the jacuzzi heated would have been a big plus. The porch wasn't clean as people would just stamped out their cigarettes there where they sat for the rest of us to have to manuever around. An ashtray or two could help. There was no bar or room servce during the day. My husband had a lobster dish and the lobster wasn't good but my dish was very good.
large room, big jacuzzi, view terrace front desk spoke limited english
Staff was very helpful even calling ahead to a pizzeria on Sunday to be sure it was open. A luxury hotel that is not quite luxury. For example my room was very spacious, but had almost no natural light due to very small windows.
Hotel building is gorgeous and in a beautiful setting, rooms were lovely and very glam. food in the restaurant was delicious. The atmosphere was cold, the hotel staff were often not available, the bar was not manned and there were no lounge facilities, no hotel information in the rooms, area around the pool was overgrown and there were insufficient beds for number of guests, same people took the best tables every night at dinner.
This is a beautiful hotel and area to stay in. What a view of the country side from our room my husband and I loved it. The hotel is clean and all common areas very comfortable. The restaurant served us a great meal.
Beautiful view Wonderful location Great restaurant Wifi not free
rubbish underneath our balcony!!!!! :((((
The atmosphere that the hotel provided both inside and out... They were very helpful when we were stranded without transportation! There wasn't a stand up shower in our room. The hotel could not recommend off site restaurants
Breakfast very poor, internet connection wirrless only by pay, Not enough chairs in the garden only 10 and that for a SPA
The hotel was close to train which had several trips a day to both Firenze and Arezzo. It was also close to the Piazza and main shopping street. The studio room was a very large and the bed was partially blocked from Kitchen and dining table by cupboard petition. The main difficulty we had was that the reception staff were not there often and for very long when they were there. When we arrived on th eSaturday afternoon we had to make few phone call and eventually some-one came to check us in. This is always difficult when your language skills of their language is limited. The kitchen would be improved greatly if it also had a oven or microwave.
It was central and therefore easy to get to. It was clean and modern - very good value for money. The bed in room 20 was uncomfortable (very hard) although other guests thought their beds were fine. Difficult to get much sleep because of the noise coming from the streets outside and the curtains are so thin that all the light came streaming through.
Facilities were perfect for our one night stop - private parking, kitchenette and plenty of space for two children. Didn't use the train but it would be so easy with it next door to train to Siena or Florence and not have to take the car. We didn't hear the train at all! The Aircon was a little uneven - downstairs warm, upstairs cold. It did however make some difference to downstairs.
