Courtesy and kindness of staff, excellent location in the center of Ortigia, nice rooms. In order to check-in during most of the afternoon and in the evening you need to call the owner as there is no staff available.
The room was large and clean and very comfortable with much air conditioning! (you need air conditioning in summer). It is in a very good location. The breakfast wasn't very good. OK, but not great. Upon arrival we had to call up and get the password - not desirable when you are on international roaming.
location and large bedrooms/bathrooms felt slightly damp in the bedroom
close to tourist sites hard to park hard to find
The breakfast was varied and fresh. The room was cleaned daily and plenty of fresh towels supplied. We were initially put into an inferior and cramped room with a television and table lamp that did not work. Also, workmen were renewing the facade of the building right outside our window which brought dust and rubble into the room, woke us in the morning and prevented us from having a siesta in the afternoon. Each day we were promised a better room, but spent the first five nights of our twelve-night stay in the small, noisy room. We eventually moved into a room which was superior to our original booking. This was more satisfactory and we were not charged extra.
Nice room, good service.
Friendly staff willing to accomodate us.
The character of the building and the proximity to everything Only the noise of the inevitable scooters at night.
cleanliness and centrally located, friendly staff
Excellent traditional small hotel in centre of historic town Noise from motorbikes/scooters in the very narrow passageways outside our windows. I would have liked to have the windows open all night, but I could not because of the noise.
location location location...In the heart of Syracuse close to all sights of interest, shopping and plenty of small restaurants that are just waiting to be discovered. Parking at the Hotel/BnB is difficult but a nearby "Park and Ride" (Tallette Parking) lets you leave your car on the outskirts of the Ortygie district and the regular bus service drops you off in close vicinity of the B&B.
nice staff, very friendly, comfortable room, good continental breakfast, central location and a very good price!
Very nice hotel with friendly staff and in a great location in a great city. Good for shops, restaurants and sight seeing.
Excellent location and very helpful staff
It's very central, close to shops, restaurants, cultural and historical sites. The staff are outstanding, particularly Veronica and Letitia at reception, who both have a good grasp of English and other languages, and will go out of their way to help guests at the hotel.
Great location, comfortable & clean rooms with bathroom, good value, friendly and helpful staff, big breakfast and free WiFi. Although there was a room with fridge and stove top we were told we could use, it was also the office and not open once staff left at night so we couldn't access these facilities. It would be good to have a fridge and kettle in the hallway that guests can access at all times, or kettles in the rooms.
The location, in Ortygia, is excellent. It's very difficult to get to the hotel with a car, and the parking is a good distance away.
Personal approach from the owner The room was a bit cold but I guess it's due to winter season
Excellent location on Ortygia island, the early check-in time proved extremely handy. The proprietors cooked us a lovely cake for breakfast in the morning!
Very warm welcome from the owner - Very clean and simple rooms - Extremely well located in Syracusa !!!! - Really easy to find with a map - Good breakfast - Feeling at home ! Thank you very much Massimiliano !
The owners of Sleep in Sicily are really nice, they can give you a good advise of what to do and what to see, as well as where to eat. The room was nice and clean. We had a nice time here.
Excellent location, very hospitable B&B owners Massimiliano and Cristina.
Very nice B&B with loads of character in it. Room was very spacious and decorated in a rustic style. B@B located at arm stretch from the sea on one side and Duomo from another. Fresh breakfast was served at the patio just outside the room. Very nice and friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend.
very friendly and helpful staff, clean room, good breakfast and central location
We found the owners very friendly and helpful. Our room was very quiet, spacious and comfortable with a small balcony. We loved the breakfasts, especially the homemade cake every morning! The location is excellent.
Very central in Ortigia. The rooms were comfortable with good big beds, fridge, television with english-language stations and air conditioning. The owner was very hepful when we needed to hire a car and about our day trips. We found we could use Sleep in Sicily as a good base.
Syracuse is one of the most beautiful cities of the world, and the hotel is located at the best spot of the island. We had the fantastic room Numer 7 with a nice terrace. The room was fantastic. It is a generous and family-like hospitality where guests can serve themselves with coffe, tea and fruits the whole day. The breakfast was very nice. The man at the reception could recommand us the best places to visit and to eat.
The rooms are beautiful, a really unique experience. The location is brilliant for wandering around the island. The breakfust buffet is delicious. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel - quite the opposite. Well worth a stay here.
The hotel has a lot of character and is centrally located. The bathroom was fashionable but the flush of the toilet did not work properly.
The building is a beautiful and tasteful blend of modern interior design and traditional charm. The lounge/breakfast room is a great bonus, giving you somewhere to chill out without being restricted to your bedroom; you can help yourself to a hot drink, browse the internet (free) and relax on the huge white sofas. The location is fantastic, close to a range of restaurants, bars and local sights. My bedroom was spacious, bright, clean and again very tastefully decorated. Service throughout the stay was first class. The breakfasts were fit for a king with a massive range of cereals, fruit, bread, pastries, cakes, meat and cheeses on offer. I would defintately stay again.
Eevn though it was quite difficult to find the Palazzo (because of the local traffic regulations and because 3 policemen gave us 3 different explanations of how their system worked) this is a real beauty ! It is a historic palazzo rebuilt as B&B, only since 2 years now. We had an enormous bedroom, with a comfortable bathroom and even a private balcony with armchairs. Ideal to spend hot siesta-hours ! Not to forget the excellent breakfast buffet and the friendly and helpful staff !
The charm of this hotel surpasses any other impression. This B&B is perfect for the traveller looking for comfort, uniqueness, charm, intimacy and a superb location on the Ortigia island. The very friendly staff rounds it off. Each room has its unique features and breathes authenticity, thanks to the very succesfull renovation of this former palazzo.
desk manager was extremely helpful;great location, good breakfast, free internet small shower up some stairs
very noisy in front rooms, breakfast very average, bathrooms tiny, ensure you ask for a room with a balcony, otherwise they are like a prison cell
This was a lovely old building at the tip of Ortygia with 6 guest rooms. The building was only a street away from the waterfront and the fountain. Our room was very comfortable and large and has air conditioning. We used the air conditioning at night because the city noise is definitely there. On the other hand we felt we were staying in a real neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and helpful (Giovanni) and the breakfast was just great. Recommendations for dining were right on target. We liked everything. If you book, you should take into account that there are stairs involved.
Nice big room, helpful reception. Good choice at breakfast, modern and clean decor Its a little difficult to get to. We arrived at the main bus station in town, and as limited transport is allowed on the island, you need to get a free shuttle bus onto Ortigia island- being non-italian speakers this proved a bit of a challenge, but we made it ok.
