quality of the Hotel and staff. Excellent dining. none
The hotel was inexpensive The rooms were not air conditioned and our bags had to be carried up and down stairs as there is no elevator.
Nice rooms, friendly staff, very clean and quiet.
the location and the hotel overall
Restaurant meal was very pleasant, nice surroundings and helpful staff. Rooms near the entrance to the hotel experience lots of noise from the flagpoles situated at the entrance.
no facilities for making own drink in room
The restaurant was excellent and the price was right .
The bed was very comfortable, reading lights were good and the bathroom was very well equipped - even a nonslip pad for the bath. We did not think highly of the food, either for dinner or for breakfast.
The hotel was clean, friendly, food great. rooms very clean and comfortable.Reception and staff very helpful, and definately value for money. Easy access to travel around without any harrassment. Close to train station. None
Spacious room with tiny bathroom. Wonderful tropical garden where meal are served. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Very good location for a walk in the countryside. Best choice for mature couples. Definitely not an hotel for families with young children (we had to wait almost one hour to have a hot meal for the baby). Staffs were not so friendly with us. No wifi despite the website was indicating free internet in the entire hotel.
Mr and Mrs Geers-Gobbe were very friendly and welcoming and the service very efficient. The hotel and surroundings were beautiful and the food excellent. The bedroom was very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cap Au Vert and would recommend the whole experience. We were a little disappointed that the hotel was more or less closed on the Monday although we were aware that the restaurant was not open. The bell was not working so we had to telephone for entry to the hotel each time we returned.
Our charming hosts provided us with wonderful tranquility friendliness and superb cuisine
The tropical garden and welcome of the owners
convenient to the motorway. Breakfast was good. Comfortable bed, the bath and shower was good The Hotel needs refurbishing. The security is not good enough; anyone can walk into any of the areas except the lockable bedrooms. The stairwell area smells of damp, the toilet in the bathroom is positioned in a cramped position. Close it down for renovation, it's not up to the standard of Best Western hotels. WiFi should be free (included)
Dinner in the restaurant was a good standard The room did not have an outlook to the car park However there wasn't really any need for this and obviously the hotel position (motorway)Didn't have attractive views not really an issue
I found it very conveniently placed for a one night stop over tp break up the journey from UK to southern Germany. I found the cafeteria rather hectic with many passengers arriving on holiday buses. But I guess that is part of the nature of its position on the Route du Soleil. :>)
Clean, comfortable, good value for money No welcome tray of tea/coffee
Location near highway, ideal as a stop over hotel for trips from NW Europe to SE Europe by car. Noise insulation could be better: you can hear the cars driving by.
The first room was not cleaned also the bathroom and no clean sheets. We got another room without problem.
It was very convenient. Rooms a bit tired and dated.
Convenient location close to autoroute. Clean and comfortable rooms. Reasonable buffet breakfast. The noise from the nearby road that continued throughout the night was a bit disturbing.
Very hard to find something.... Just the fact that it was close to the interstate. Very little plus. Terrible sickening odor, pieces of furnitures falling apart, handle of the room door stayed in my hand ! Hotel must be avoided.
Large room Wifi relies on a card from reception for 2 hours. Noisy, as above autoroute
A very nice hotel in a quiet and undisturbed part of the Ardennes. Easy access to a multitude of forested walking routes. The view from the breakfast/dining room and terrace, overlooking the river in the bottom of the valley, was very much like a post card. Very friendly staff.
Outstanding hospitality in the heart of the Semois Valley. Splendid views from both the room and the terrace in front of the hotel. Quality food. We will be back.
On arrival we were immediately embraced with the warmest of welcomes by Richard. The room was delightful, comfortable with beautiful views and a modern bathroom. The common areas were cosy and relaxing again with beautiful views. Good wines and well chosen music completed the ambience. The half board here provides outstanding meals designed and cooked to perfection by Eddie then served with humour and good grace by Steve. Thanks to all three wonderful hosts. We can't wait to come back and stay longer!
heaven on earth. if you need a place to unwind and relax this is the hotel for you. the rooms are charming. the food delicious. the hosts friendly and professional. make the booking. you won't be sorry!
Good food and hospitality. None
The location was great, excellent breakfast. More interested in the restaurant than providing the little comforts for the hotel guest. For example the bar area was not manned and was inaccesable outside of certain hours so you had no where to sit and relax.
Room, decor, cleanliness, breakfast restaurant/bar closed on sundays
Since the room reserved was not big enough, the staff gave us another room next door. They helped with heating food since the restaurant was closed on Sundays. Although they spoke some English, it was very difficult to communicate
Staff was very corteous. Smelled like mildew, I have asthma an is easy to tell when there is mildew problem in a building. My lungs let me know quickly.
Good breakfast. The non-smoking room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Opening the winows did not improve the situation. i could not make the bedroom heater function.
The surroundings of an old house
even though there was a big language barrier the staff coped well
Nothing Isolated location, lack of facilities with nowhere else to go.
The room was spacious and the grounds were nice. We had issues with the plumbing. They were responsive, but unable to fix the problem well. Because the place was fully booked, there was no option of another room.
The restaurant, the comfort of the room, the place itself No.
Nice idea, it is not exactly castle but it rather hotel rised up on the ruins of some building. The mail place in the middle of the hotel gives nice climat. Very close to Luxemburg and some other castles and Abbays. Room was not clean - old pillows and bead cover remained in the wardrobe and generate unexpected smell. Most of equipotent in the bath room was in good condition but ceramic was not very clean. The same for the walls. In our opinion if it is a castle it should have castle interior as a decoration and we felt like in castle cause the walls were repaired in very cheep way - reparation of painted walls by concrete - in my apartment/house I would be shame to show this kind of renovation to friends and family - we are young pair and it should been some kind weeding week but it wasn't. It should cost 40 euro and not almost 90 without breakfast – sound like joke !!!. Idea is ok but performed without excitation. We felt cheated.
room, meals, service
the free parking this hotel seems to still be under construction/updating
We chose the hotel based on it excellent kitchen and we were not disappointed! The hotel is par to the Silent Hotels - Relais du Silence. For that reason it should take all precautions to keep the silence. Our entry door to the room squeeked terribly and the bathroom fan was louder than needed.
wonderful location, very good food, very friendly people
Qiuet rural location, almost the end of the road, the facilities and room were up to standard but the food was excellent. If you like your grub the detour off the motorway is weel worthwhile.
The location of the hotel was perfect. Out of the busy city, but easy to get to town. Very peaceful and quite.
The location is outstanding. The setting is outstanding. The service and accomodation is outstanding. Real value for money.
bar was closed on Wednesday evening
I felt like at home. Very kind people. Very relaxing. There was nothing I did not like.
not very welcoming arrival
Excellent food and room. Quiet setting. Fine service. Free wireless internet which is a major plus! Pleasant ambiance.
Quiet place, nice staff, doing the best they can No (forced) ventilation in bathroom, no airco? We could not sleep well. Maybe other rooms (with 2 separate beds!!) are better. So, I advise for all the rooms separate quality beds and forced ventilation! If possible airco.
The hotel is located in the center of the village with a nice neighbourhood. A beautiful garden next to a small river. The restaurant is outstanding No complains at all.
The food at this hotel was terrific! I had the best best trout ever; it must have been marinaded in beer from L'Abbaye Orval.
restful: as well surroundings hotel, as music during the meals, cosy garden and rooms (large bed),
Nice room which was spotlessly clean, pretty village located well for sightseeing the Valle de la Semois Cost of restaurant was very high and service was very slow although the food was excellent.
The setting and tranquility are excellent so is the area. The trees are special and the garden The owners and staff. Slow expensive drinks service, very average food and the rip off at dinner. Having asked for a bottle of Fleuri, the waiter brought not the 26 Euro one which we had indicated but one at 56 Euros. He said nothing at the time but at payment of final bill we were tiold the other Fleuri had run out.
The fact that we were only staying one night. and it was not too far to drive to find a reasonable evenig meal with friendly staff I though that the hotel was unfriendly and the receptionist was most rude upon our arrival. The receptionist did not even speak directly to us or smile at any point. We did not see or speak to a member of staff during our stay. The only way we found anything was the few lines on one page in a book in the hotel room. The hotel is over priced for what it is - frankly we felt most unwelcome at this hotel. By reading the book we found that dinner could only be ordered within a 1 hour time slot, that is why we went elswhere for our evening meal.
Wonderful countryside setting. Peaceful and luxurious. Lovely breakfast. Restaurant is closed Tuesday nights but we were advised of this in advance and offered excellent alternatives.
The hotel , the rooms and the surrounding park are kept very clean. It is a peacefull place since the hotel is located near the forest. They have an excellent cuisine and the staff is kind to the guests.
The room, service, and dining including the reasonable wine list, could not be faulted. An excellent place to relax.
