Very comfy bed. Courteous staff. Convienent parking garage. And Pure Bread bakery one block away was great for breakfast.
Restaurant staff and food was incredible and convenient. The area around this hotel dormant look like a place we'd like to be walking around at night.
Area was super convenient, fast pace to move through hotel , I hate waiting for ever for an elevator. The room was amazing for the price , love being a Starwood member most worthy membership . Well done Sheraton ! See yous soon Staff got a little attitude at front desk at one point but it was fine
it was good service, the people were nice, and the bed was comfortable. I will be staying again the water in the room took too long to get hot, and we had alittle trouble with the key card
Very spacious and clean. Very courteous staff Bathroom needed to be updated
I loved the big bed and the cleanliness of the rooms. I didn't like that the television in the sitting room didn't work and the coffee maker was dirty.
Only thing wrong was late at night had young females running and Loud in the hallway.
Staff Bedsheets wasn't clean
Clean nice rooms Pool was dirty. Too many occupants in the pool. Hot tub was broke and dirty
I liked the amenities in the room , the coffee served was good and the bed was very comfortable. I liked the jet bathtub in the bathroom. I didn't like that the room didn't have any Windows to the outside. It only showed Windows to the hallway of the hotel. It was weird because people walking in the hallway could see into our room. The room also had some random stains on the couch and on the wall. I think the room overall was clean but they missed a few spots during cleaning.
Staff was great.. Location convenient except for one of only 2 access roads was covered with 2' of water and closed.. This hotel sat unfinished for many years as a result of its owners trying to defy local ordinances. When the current owners took over its very apparent that the finishing construction was rushed, and there was little to No attention to detail, or even quality. Our room which was a deluxe suite was very nice and contemporary on first appearance. But stepping into the vast bathroom the lack of ATD, and current maintance was apparent. The ceiling covering the air duct was peeling paint from one side of the room to the other. 75% of the grout around the jacuzzi tub was either missing or falling out and the tiles around the base were falling out.. The toilet paper holder was so far from the toilet that you had to literally get up from the toilet to reach it and I'm 6' tall. We checked in 2 the 2 rooms we had reserved around 7:45pm and neither of our rooms were ready at almost 8 at night. My wife and I headed to the bar for a much needed drink and appetizer. Upon arriving at the lounge, I asked the bartender what she recommended. I was told that the shrimp, tomato, avocado with "garlic and olive oil" (as described on the menu) was " the best thing on the menu". When it arrived it was a bowl of shrimp tomatoe concasse, and diced avacado (way over ripe) drowned in a heavy cheese sauce. There was no.mention of cheese, cream or dairy on the menu, nor by the bartender who reccomended it. This is the Sheraton? Come on..this is simple stuff. I am a professionally trained chef, and have successfully opened and managed over 17 restaurants in my career. This is just basic common sense for a beginner to accurately describe your menu items. What if I or my guest were lactose intolerant? The menu implies something light and fresh, but what you get is the exact opposite. Big thumbs down here. Looking around there is indication, after indication once again that there is little to no care or pride put into maintaining this property. Crown molding all over is not even close to fitting together properly, carpet in common areas is pulling away from walls and stairs, almost every window we saw in the common areas was filthy and covered with hand prints. Just not what I would.consider as standard for a Sheraton, that is fairly new.. I want to be clear that every staff member I interacted with was incredibly polite and accomadating which shows that there is a manger in place with great pride for their staff. I'm guessing based on professional experience that there is non existent ownership in place that requires the staff to operate on a shoestring budget and that puts the margin before all else.
Stayed one night on a road trip. Can't beat the location right off the highway. Comfortable bed, great air conditioning, great night's sleep.
Great location and free shuttle service was nice to and from downtown. Pricey on top of $25 cost for parking fee
Wonderful customer service, comfortable and very clean rooms, and an awesome price! I loved everything!
The staff was present, courteous and helpful at all times - a rare treat in a hotel these days!
contemporary appointments friendly helpful staff not soundproof rooms
Very impressed with The Westin. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great choice for a laid back weekend to just getaway from the city. Good location. We would definitely come back for another stay.
brand new hotel, very clean. friendly, caring personnel very noisy AC bad wall soundproofing
The beds were awesome and the room was very clean. A very good location at the waterfront. The staff was very accommodating. The elevator noise was irritating. We thought at first it was the heater but later found out it was the clang of the elevator. The breakfast was fair but the burger we had the night before was great. No other complaints.
The staff and cleanliness of the hotel WAS AWESOME The heated pool wasn't even warm
Got a free breakfast coupon for the buffet, which was great.
Parking was not included and no breakfast. Most other hotels include these things for the price.
Friendly bar staff Had to pay for parking Had to pay for Breakfast, even continental breakfast
Staff were helpful from moment we arrived to departure. Beds were very comfortable and room (on the HHonors floor) was clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast could be trimmed down (omelet bar was barely used) and then included in room rate. Parking is also $15 extra if you add it to your hotel bill. You still park your own car and then get ticket validated at front desk. OR, just hold on to your ticket, don't have it added to your bill, and pay just $11 for an overnight stay to the parking lot attendant!
room décor, tv, and internet service paying for parking
The location was convenient for our purposes, but there wasn't much to do in the area. If you went out at night there really wasn't anything open. It's the sort of area that closes down after 5 p.m. The staff was friendly and the space was clean. Overall, it was a good value for the money. The bathroom drain was slow running, but that was the only problem with the room. The location is really better suited for business then for a leisure visit.
Scratchy sheets, drab interiors
didn't have any hot water Friday eve. called and reported and still no hot water on Syyat morning also had a prank call at 5:45am called office they said someone was making prank calls they could not trace it they forgot wake up call on Sun breakfast okay
meal was good only one person on duty slow service
The pool, location and amenities Front desk clerk upon check wasnt very friendly. Other employees all were.
We booked for two nights and ended up leaving after the first due to bed bugs.
Mini fridge and microwave very convenient N/a
Having a fridge and microwave. Bathroom could be nicer and the window had a leak.
Very friendly and accomodating staff. The power was out and they were very helpful to the best of their ability!
I know what to expect for the price I get. This is my second stay (Thanksgiving) with my spouse and dog. And will likely book for Christmas as well. It's a convenient location to my brothers house which is great. But he also happens to live right near Christiana Mall, Delaware Park Casino, so nothing is ever far. And it's right off 95. Pet fee was $25 a day. Which is cheap to me. The towels are not ultra plush, and the iron was cheap and lightweight, but those are little things.
Breakast did not include ANY fruit.
Accesibility to the Univ. of Delaware. Clean and run by people whose language is understandable. Would have liked a coffee pot and some lotion.
Really, really liked all the modernization and comfort aspects: good non-slip floors, convenient, easy-access receptacles by the bed, smart night lighting - in some ways better than the typical $250/night hotels I stay at! It was a non-smoking room, but the smell of cigarette smoke in there was so strong that we had to sleep with the door latched open (the windows were screwed shut); I'm guessing that it was the occupant immediately previous to us, or one just before that, who smoked the place out. Since it was the last room available, we couldn't even ask to be moved... the maids need to note this kind of thing and bring it to the staff's attention so it can be handled immediately. If it wasn't for this (MAJOR) factor, our experience at this hotel would have been just about perfect. As it was, we both slept poorly and couldn't wait to get out in the morning.
It was really confusing to find the entrance
When I first checked into my room, alone, two men watched me from the parking lot. Immediately after entering my room I received an unsettling call from a man, who asked if I was "working." He made it clear he was looking for a prostitute. It made me uncomfortable, so I called the front desk. The woman at the desk asked me what the men looked like, told me she would report the incident to management, and she immediately moved me to the room right next to the front entrance so that I would feel safer. I was so appreciative that she was so helpful. I didn't even have to ask to switch rooms, she suggested it as soon as I mentioned that I felt uncomfortable. Excellent hospitality and concern for their guests! The room was also very clean, the doors and locks were in good condition, and all of the staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again! The doors open up to the outside, which is a little bit less safe for a those traveling alone than a hotel with interior room entrances, since everyone can access the doors without having to pass the front desk.
We arrived late evening (10 isn) and the two ladies at the front desk were exceptionally pleasant and very accommodating to my need of having a first floor room. I was traveling with a lot of stuff that could not be left in the bed of my truck. I was given a slight upgrade and the perfect room. I will be back for sure!!!!
This was one of the best places I've stayed in years. The room was clean. Clean like its cleaned every day. Bathroom floor and shower were clean. Employees were nice. I want a place to sleep for one or two nights and I'm tired of getting rooms that are cleaned "just enough". This Red Roof was NOT like that. I will continue to patronize this chain of Inns until they disappoint me. If you say Breakfast you need to have more items.
room was clean. personnel were friendly. exterior of building was dirty.
The smell of the room
Beds a little hard
The price was good. Housekeeping needs to take more time and making sure the room is clean, behind the ded was hair and a booger on the wall it felt stuffy and damp, the price was good but won't go again the room number was 142
We were visiting for our daughters College Graduation. Lodging was limited in the area. The Red Roof Inn had the room availability at a VERY REASONABLE overall average daily rate. Upon arrival we noticed a great deal of construction going on at the property as well as next door. The desk clerk was very helpful and polite. Another staff member was working to assist a customer who had been staying there on business and needed to extend his stay despite the heavy bookings for the Graduation. The clerk PROACTIVELY provided a printed map showing us the best routes during the graduation period and best way to avoid the area construction. OVERALL STAFF RATIING 5 Stars, A+ or however you want to rate as Excellent . * The odors in the hall (I think years of smoke) * Pillows were very small and flat (almost like throw pillows) * Room was clean yet a little "funky" * This was a "suite", but you could really only view TV from bedroom area (room divided by 7/8th wall the hid bed from couch * Pool area not opened (due to construction - assuming will reopen) * Room was sparse and had aging furniture that has seen better days (you get what you pay for) * Pull out couch - Elaine from Seinfeld would have found Jerry's parents pull out comfortable compared to the one in the room (Hope some of you get the reference - if not Google it - Very Funny)
We have stayed in worse hotels… But we can't remember when. The hotel is rundown, worn and houses many long term section 8 residents. There are many better hotels near the University of Delaware and we only booked this one as we needed a large number of rooms for graduation and no other hotels were available. Given the opportunity, I would choose just about any other hotel over this one
It was located conveniently to my destination each day, Breakfast was included daily and consisted of a good variety of item including hot waffles, pancakes, fruit, cereals, hardboiled eggs, and several other items - very good. hotel is old but very clean and fairly quiet. Will stay with them again. room had 2 beds and one chair, would like to see more chairs. breakfast was served at 6AM weekdays and 7AM Saturday & Sunday, We needed to leave before 7 and would like to see serving begin at 6 on Saturday also.
The staff was very kind and attentive. The hotel was a confusing maze and my bathroom wasnt very clean.
The location Breakfast really not much of a one. Waffle is only hot food offered. We brought our own bananas to have with cereal at breakfast. Two cereals were offered both high in sugar. Wallpaper was coming down in our room, beds were poorly made. Hotel is very worn and needs some money put into it.
The smell of the room was mildewish
Sign on door asking people to take off scarves and other materials covering their faces- made me feel unsafe.
horrible internet connection, basically useless noisy neighbors (thin walls)
The room was clean, the staff was very helpful, and there were no major issues. There were some noisy families/children in the hallway during the middle of the night.
The mattress was very comfortable, and the choice of pillow firmness was a nice touch. The layout was in good taste, the water pressure in the shower was high, the whole place was clean, and the AC worked beautifully. Housekeeping did a great job. The continental breakfast was a little sparse, but what was available was good.
Location, location, location. Once at the hotel, the car wasn't needed again. Coffee, Craft Beer and Calzones all within a 2 minute walk. New England charm in a vibrant college town. The workout facilities could use an upgrade and variety could be added to the equipment. The parking situation (Parking available on site for $20 per night or a block away for $5) is not ideal but is workable.
The sweet character, the location, the decorations. The pillows are lumpy, and the beds need upgrading.
It was a charming place to stay. We were served a lovely breakfast. The room was very pretty and comfortable Wish we had a coffee pot in the room. Breakfast wasn't until 8:00 so we early birds had to wait.
The room was lovely, quiet and private. The hot tub was spacious and gas fireplace welcoming in February. The breakfast was outstandingly fresh and the dining room was clean and charming. All in all, the experience was a nice addition to our visit to the Brandywine Museum.
The quiet and cleanliness as well as the good mattress and pillows which made for a restful night Nothing I can think of. Perhaps a bit more imagination could be used in planning the breakfast selections.
Hotel was friendly, with tea and cookies in the afternoon, and a good breakfast selection in the afternoon. The room was made up upon our return. We found the hotel very quiet and the location was perfect. I can't think of anything we didn't like.
I loved how it felt like a B&B but had the privacy of a hotel. The decor was dated but it added to the charm for the most part. The fireplace and tub were wonderful and even had candles. The breakfast was decent for a free meal. I would stay again. There were a few things like the soap dish & tub that had marks/chips in them but overall, the unit and building was in good shape, just dated a little. The waffle maker gave us trouble at breakfast, & no micro/coffee in the room but the fridge was useful
This is a charming small hotel located very close to attractions in the Brandywine Valley. Great service, free afternoon tea, very nice continental breakfast included with a lovely lobby and wine bar. The rooms were clean and well decorated. A great place for couples for a weekend getaway and a very reasonable price.
Staff was very accommodating. Beautiful atmosphere. Great breakfast. It was hard to find.
We loved our room, the fireplace and Jacuzzi were delightful. The staff was wonderful. The location was great - very close to everything we wanted to do.
I loved that the hotel was in it's own quaint village with little shops that was within walking distance. We went to the restaurant Brandywine Prime where we had an excellent dinner. The room had a relaxing and romantic atmosphere. Everything was great!
Rooms clean, personnel extremely nice. Tea wasn't as elaborate as the travel book I bought made it sound, but still nice to have the tea available in the afternoons. Breakfast also extremely nice. We were very happy and would stay here again~!
The beds were comfortable and the room had everything I needed for one night. I found a cockroach in the bathroom.
Rooms were spacious, well-designed, & had excellent lighting. Breakfast during the week was fine (eggs), but on Sat., Sun., & Mon., they serve a terrible chipped beef & gravy on biscuits- inedible. That alone would prevent me from staying there on weekends.
All conveniences were there. You might want to add another computer for guest use, as one week night I did find both computers in lengthy use by one person and his partner. Inasmuch as my stay included time during the Passover Jewish holiday, your breakfast buffet should have included Passover matzoh as one of the available choices, and there was none. This would seem to show some ethnic insensitivity, since Jewish patrons should not eat bread or similar baked goods on this holiday.
The staff was very professional, friendly and flexible. We originally planned to stay for three nights but b/c of a blizzard we had to stay two additional nights. The microwave needs replacing as the turn table did not rotate. Also, the televisions were not HD so the pictures were blurry.
It was very close to the event we came to town for. The staff didn't mention the construction- a staple gun outside our room for the 1St hour. And they didn't explain their texting or wifi services but said they would text me wifi instructures but didn't. And the walls are thin. The hall was loud until 1am
I went to rest my privacy was respected no one knocked on my door or bothered me I had my do not disturb sign on and everybody was quiet I enjoyed it very much Everything was excellent
The staff was great, as the room, and hotel. The bartender was not as attentive as he should have been.
Having an amazing and clean service! Cable Internet wasn't available. Only through Wifi.
Comfy bed and feather pillows. Attentive, professional staff. Maintenance equipment noise way to early in the morning was not welcome especially with 1st floor room in front of hotel.

CLEAN! Very clean, modern and great front desk service. Located right off the highway and close to shopping!
Location. Most disappointing hotel stay I've ever had. Hair dryer so covered in goop I had to get a replacement. Room not cleaned until 5pm. No bath towels, glasses wiped with greasy rag, clumps of hair (not mine) on sink in plain sight. Lobby level room.

Clean, quiet, and close to the interstate and restaurants Our only problem was shutting out the bright parking lot lights well enough.
The room was large, very clean and looked brand new. The bed was very comfortable. Although we didn't go to the restaurant and bar they both looked very nice and there were a number of guests enjoying them. The staff was exceptionally pleasant.
Overall, I liked my stay. Everything was clean and fresh and comfortable. The sink is too high for the average person and shaped poorly so that it pushes you away from the sink. These two design flaws make using the bathroom sink awkward for anyone shorter than 5'10". The towels were very thin, probably old towels. I expected better from the Hampton.
The Staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast on Friday was not hot and the toaster was very slow.
Convenience on the road. I reserved a room at Hampton Inn, Malvern because it was close to two local historic sites that I wanted to visit. The desk clerk referred me to a friendy Episcopal Church just a short drive away, which suited my Sunday needs very well. The room accomodation had several welcome conveniences such as fridge, microwave oven, coffee/tea maker, TV and was very quiet and fresh. The bathroom was supplied with thoughtful items. A large room had been provided for breakfast for a sports/family event in the area so the breakfast bar was adequately accomodating for just regular folk. I will definitely stay here again while visiting family in the area. One very small problem with the room was that the bathtub plug did not function to stop water flowing out. I also found that the room a/c unit could not be programed to my preferred temperature, which is higher than the default cooling setting
Clean rooms, nice free breakfast. Only downside was when we called the front desk for pillows and a toothbrush, they made us come down to the front desk to get them. In my past experiences, I have usually received items directly to the room. To me, this exhibited some laziness on the hotels staff's part See above
