Very friendly and helpfull staff, nice rooms, tasty food, I do recommend.
New and big rooms, very comfortable, we are really satisfied and we suggest this hotel to all. Nothing
Nice location, close to Romantic Road, newness, helpful staff, spacious rooms.
There is a restaurant at the hotel and it has wonderful food. They also have a breakfast buffet that was good too.
The Hotel is brand new and the rooms are bright and large. Comfortable beds. Great food. Good location to visit Wuertzburg, Rothenburg and Nuernberg, all within one hour or less. It was difficult to find in the evening since there are not many street signs. Bring a GPS
In very good condition. They must have just renovated it. Beautiful woodwork. Our room was the largest we've stayed in Europe. Located in the countryside, but stategically between Rothenburg, Dinkelbuhl with Swabish Hall and Nurnberg within an hour. Breakfast is basic. Nothing fancy, but enough to eat. Dinner was very good. My husband and son loved the baked pork covered in cheese. I had Schnitzel which was tasty. After dinner, we were serenaded by our desk clerk/waiter. He played guitar well and had a wonderful voice. Very pleasant stay after walking around Rothenburg all day. A little tricky to find the turn north after exiting the Autobahn 6. Need a good map to know the towns on the same road as the hotel. In the town of Dorfgutingen, look for a sign to Rodenweiler, turn there and then Aurach-Vehlberg is after that. When you see the Autoban running parallel on your left, you are on the right road.
It is very new. Furnishings and hotel are very nice. Great value for the money. Could use a phone or a clock in the room.
very friendly staff and nice hotel
Very nice room. Stayed in a 5 person family room and it had more than enough space for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Buffet breakfast was nice, a standard European selection of meats, cheese and cereal. TV was about 13-15 inches and had 1 English-speaking channel but that is not a deal breaker. TV could be a little bigger so that it would be easier to see from across this large room.
A great hotel with really nice rooms. The staff where very serviceminded.
helpful staff, spacious and comfortable room, nice breakfast, good location in town
Quality and comfort of the hotel. Excellent breakfirst. Coffee machine is great. Very quiet No restaurant available during my 3 days stay.
I had a short but pleasant stay at the hotel.
Comfort of the room and quality of the breakfirst
very modern rooms, very practical and well set out. limited dinner menu.
The hotel staff were great, the services were top quality, the amenities were clean and convinient. Booked my next stay already because I was impressed. No.
The Hotel is traditional in character with modern standards , good local food with English menus available and friendly staff
Very beautiful castle, stayed in the tower. Need to just bring what you'll need to the room since there are some steps up to the rooms. Definitely would be difficult to manage a large suitcase.
beautiful building, surroundings, nice reception and good restaurant Very steep stairs, difficult to carry your suitcases to the room. room was not comfortable. We had a twin bed and one should climb over the other to get off. We were situated in the tower on one of the upper floors, which is absolutely not recommendable. However we believe there are much better rooms. The room we had (4) was not exactly value for money. Internet worked complicated. Once you are on the internet you cannot watch TV. Summarizing a nice experience but not to be repeated in the room we got.
very very good~~~
I really don't have a nice thing to say about the hotel. A single person doesn't stay in the castle, you stay way downtown in a very cramped tiny room overlooking mold on someone's garage. The fruit in the room was beyond eating stages, there was no plug in the sink to hold water, the room was way overpriced at 65 Euro, a hostel room would have been much nicer. When I booked, I thought I was actually going to stay in a castle room, not the case, you are no where near the castle, you are in a small room downtown. If you wanted breakfast, you had to go all the way back up to the castle.
It's a real castle in a small charming town. Room was in a tower built around 1860. Friendly and helpful staff. Small room (twin bed room), no internet
Free apples and bottled water at the room. The breakfast included everything despite it was not a buffet. For those who wants lot of food for dinner, the Wienerschnitzel is recommended. There are only six rooms in the castle, the rest are at the annex (Gasthaus), 100 stairsteps below the castle.
Very nice place, the staff was excellent. Delicious breakfast! We had also a good meal in the cosy hotel restaurant. Please be aware of that the hotel is an old medieval castle and has no elevatores or special access for disabeled people (at least not in the tower where we stayed). There is somewhat of a walk from the parking to the hotel inside the castle walls and up in the tower. No problems for us, but if you have problems with carrying your own luggage, be aware!
we were very disappointed that there were no rooms left in the castle, and were put in the guest house, which was about 5mins away from the hotel where we had to go for breakfast.you could not drive very close to the hotel, bad news when its raining!!
Castle restaurant kichen
Breakfast, dinner menue and envirement
I was given a very nice room with a balcony and views over the city; quite lovely.
Hotel is beautiful. View from the restaurant is very nice and the dishes are very tasty. Hotel staffs are very kind. Internet connection was week.
Good restaurant in the hotel too many mosquitos ;-) but still a nice place
Perfect sausages and beer.
Good, efficient, friendly staff. Difficult to find especially as the nearest town centre which we should have gone through was closed.
This is a great hotel. Our staying was really good, the room was very nice, the hotel has a big garden and also the home cooking was excellent! We enjoyed very much staying at this hotel, really relaxing!
A truly outstanding hotel. A really excellent room - large, clean, comfortable and very quiet. The restaurant is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. I only stayed overnight on business - and wish I could have stayed longer! Highly recommended.
Very nice hotel with big parking space. Friendly staff.
Nice, spacious rooms. Great service at reception.
No minibar. Room somewhat ssmall for the price.
Excellent value and amazing food
Room extremely clean and spacious even for a portable cot. Staff firendly, food excellent. No.
This is a wonderful hotel close to shopping, awesome gardens, historical places. It was a great jumping off point for day trips and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. no elevater
Relaxed atmosphere and free to come and go, key access to side to park pushchair and enter hotel once reception closed. Big spacious room for me and family.
The hotel staff was very accommodating. They waited up for us as we had unforeseen delays in our travel plans. The room was very, very clean and the breakfast was the best European breakfast buffet we've had during our travels and exceeded our expectations! We also chose to have dinner at the Hotel so we could relax and the meal was beyond exceptional. We had a fantastic time and plan to stay at the hotel again. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something outside of the city hustle. Beautiful grounds!
Screens on the room window. The common areas in the older part had a bad smell. The bathroom was very small.
3rd time I've stayed in last 3 months. Staff are very helpful, rooms very clean, and good food.
An excellent breakfast and a very good restaurant in a very secluded hotel. Easy access to Ansbach. Almost too secluded. On the restaurant's day off the nearest alternative is Ansbach. Very expensive wi-fi.
Staff spoke good english, and were keen to help. The room was good compared to some other hotels. Located next to a church. Bells begin to chime loudly at 6am
Beautiful rooms, excellent restaurant, satisfying breakfast. If I were in the Ansbach area again I would most certainly stay here again
Some of the staff had a good level of english which helped, and the rooms are worth the money paid and clean.
Nice, quiet and comfortable hotel with renovated rooms, well accessible from the highway. Parking directly in front of the hotel.Very nice staff.
Lovely family that runs this hotel, they were very helpful, gracious and patient. Food was wonderful and atmospher was wonderful little village. I would stay again. Nothing......we loved it
Friendly staff, good kitchen, quiet location
Excellent room! Big, nice, clean, with a large TV set, two bathrooms and even extra beds! What else to wish for with 40 euros!? Even though in the site it says that we must book in until 21.00, the personnel was willing to book me in at 02.00! The breakfast was also awesome! Everything was better than excellent
near Altmuehlsee, but not next to it. quiet. too much to list. fruit had a collection of flies at breakfast. had to cook our own eggs. 85 euro? cleaning crew just folded the blanket and emptied the trash. usually hotels have a shampoo dispenser nowadays. water didnt drain properly in the shower. when a hotel has a bar and an area outside to drink at, they should come by to ask if you need anything else. not here.
Obviously: the horseriding! Definitely not something you can do at each hotel. Nothing, really. The service was good, prices are fair (prices for the horseriding are even low), rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The only thing that is a little behind (but still not bad) is the breakfast. Good, but not much choice. But then again: this is not a Hilton and was never supposed to be.
We were five people in an apartment. I enjoyed having ample space and the peaceful atmosphere.
Food was very good
The staff is very helpful and friendly. A lot of animals around. Very comfortable rooms. Difficult to locate (especially if you do not have a car)
the service was wonderful and it was so fun and beutiful i recomended
Highly satisfied Nothing
I stayed there before and I liked it now as ever. Unfortunately, the shopping and dinning area (separate building) burned down. I hope they will be able to restore it soon. Luckily, the nearby restaurant (in Shell gas station, walking distance) is quite good, although I missed the old one.
It was in a great location and very quiet. Having the restaurant and market so close was also a plus. The only drawback was that our room smelled like smoke. We asked for non-smoking, but it still had the old, musty smoke smell.
Perfect cleanness,effficient arrangement,comfortable beds,nice milieu No objections
It is conveniently located and easy to find. Price is reasonable and service provided gives good value for money.
Comfortable room that was very quiet (a lot of soundproofing keeps out the nearby motorway noise). Great food at good prices in the market area.
Nice service, no additional charges for small children, good breakfast, no rush to leave in the morning We had to wait till 6 p.m. to get to the hotel.
Large room, good facilities. Good value self-service restaurant for dinner and breakfast. I did not see a lift to upper floor. Not a problem for us, but people with a walking disability would need to order a ground floor room. You might like to check this with the hotel. We did not look at your website reviews before booking.
Beds are very confortables The breakfast is served in the hotel entry area, which is a very tide and unappropiated space.
excellent food even in a very late hour, very helpful and friendly staff, excellent location (right off A6)
Warm greeting from staff, very nice breakfast with personal service
It was the ideal location for a romantic getaway. I also enjoyed the wireless internet. Great place for lovers to stay while on vacation.
Nice location, friendly staff, good restaurant.
location. restaurant There was no heating. Bed was uncomfortable. Pillow was tiny. I was very cold all night
organic, healthy breakfast no Internet connection in the room, although it is posted booking.com (apparently just in the lobby and restaurant)
Located in the heart of a picturesque old city.
The friendliness of the family and staff as well as the location of the hotel was the best I've ever experienced. No it was great from the minute we arrived.
The hostess and her family are very friendly and quite helpful with questions of parking and other details. They speak excellent English. The location was perfect for walking through & enjoying Ansbach, and breakfast was substantial & yummy. I was puzzled to find no clock in the room. However, I noticed this in other German hotels, so maybe it's just a cultural thing.
the parking place in front of the hotel is limited to 4 places which were occupied when i came. The info :"free private parking is possible on site" is missleading .Not having place to park in front of the hotel i had to travel in the maze of the old town to a near by hourly charged public carpark (which unables to visit the town for a log time) and had to pay for my parking (in heavy rain). Due to this inconvenient situation i have decided to shorten my stay ,instead of two nights to only one night. I informed my decision to the hotel owner and only after long and unpleasant discassion she agreed at last not to charge me for the second night (which she insist on) . As a conclusion i would not recomment this hotel for travelers with a car.
More of a bed and breakfast than a full-service hotel. The owner is personable and hands-on. Best breakfast of the two week trip. Wonderful location in the altstadt.
