Pros: Very friendly owners/hosts. The location on the Primativa was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully renovated old farm house. Extremely hospitable owners. Cozy comfort with excellent meals in a country setting.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staying at Casa Camino was an absolute joy. The hosts were wonderful, the hotel beautiful and the food outstanding. My sister and I were walking the Camino de Santiago and booked this hotel thinking it was in the town of Palas dei Rei- it was actually about 9 km outside of town. When we discovered our mistake, we contacted the owners who immediately sent a cab to pick us up. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside so views from the patio and hotel windows were great. We had a wonderful dinner at the onsite restaurant, with very nice wine and a wonderful brownie dessert. After dinner, we were served drinks and coffee in a lovely, cozy living room. Everything about our experience was great. Our room was very comfortable with very nice linens and great pillows. Fresh flowers were everywhere.
Cons: Nothing! Our only concern was being several miles form the French route of the Camino but it turned out not to be a problem as the Primitivo route goes right by the hotel . We were able to take that route into Melide where the 2 routes converge.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The hosts, the room the dinner and especially the ambiance. Exquisitely furnished. A wonderful place to unwind from the Camino.
Cons: Nothing, everything was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casa Camino Rural is in the most beautiful and welcome of settings. This is facilitated by the attention to detail by Kim and Sue to their property as well as their fantastic hospitality. Comfy beds, great food and the bonus of being able to walk a part of the Camino Primitivo the day after. I would highly recommend.
Cons: All good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place. Quiet nature away from the crowd. And the mushroom soup was out of this world!!!yummmmy!!!
Cons: There was a little hang up with booking.com we had booked for 6 people but the hotel had received only a reservation for 4 beds....... so they have us an extra room for free..... felt a little weird. Thought first we had to pay more... booking.com should see not to do such things. It’s not nice for any of the parties!
Albergue Casa Sabela - Palas de Rey

9.3 Excellent (199 reviews)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Dinner was delicious and a welcome change from the typical pilgrim menu. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating, and it was great getting to know other guests staying at the property. Room was clean and beds were comfortable.
Cons: No complaints. Despite it not being right along the Camino, you won't regret staying here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved this place. Rural stone house a couple of kms off the Camino.. warm and friendly owners speak English and will pick up / drop you in Casanova. Communal dinner and home cooked meal of pumpkin soup and lasagna was superb. Super clean with a welcoming fire on a cool night. And owners told us to call them if we ran into any trouble with the rest of our Camino. Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super magical place, it was like staying in an enchanted castle. The hosts went out of their way to make us all comfortable. They come and pick you up on the Camino and bring you back the next day. She even made me a special dinner since I don’t really eat meat and served it to me earlier than the 730 time which is just a little too late for me. But made me feel like nothing is a problem just just totally taken care of. Even though it is a big drafty building, the heaters were cranking and it was one of the best hot water showers I’ve had in a long time Just absolutely delightful. One of those experiences you will remember for the rest of your life
Cons: I was just a little confused about how far beyond Palas de REI It actually is, But the owner was available by phone and patiently helped me multiple times when I was calling to check to make sure I was going to right way
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mar and Carlos are excellent hosts. They are so accommodating Food was very very good! I hurt my knee- Carlos got me to a clinic first thing in the morning We had a special opportunity of enjoying their friend who played the gaita for us.
Cons: It was a little off the Camino but Mar and Carlos pick up and drop off so we don’t miss any part of our trek
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous place to stay. The hosts were so welcoming lovely and helpful. Beautiful accommodation. Spotless and warm and inviting especially after a long day walking. I was picked up from Casanova and dropped off the next morning to continue my Camino. Had a 5 course meal at dinner and wow it was fabulous. Home cooked and plenty food. Free flowing wine. There were 7 other guests so we made a great table of chatter for the evening! I had an absolutely wonderful time here. Room was spacious and comfortable. Slept really well. Cannot recommend it more. It is slightly out of Palas de Rei if your doing the Camino but well worth it and your ahead the next morning anyway. Absolutely 10 out of 10. Thank you for a fantastic stay with you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mar & Carlos we’re very helpful and attentive during our entire visit. Bella, their dog, was very friendly and a lot of fun. However, the highlight was the wonderful dinner and breakfast. They were superb!!!
Cons: Maybe they could have a WiFi booster to get coverage into the 2nd floor rooms. The WiFi in the common areas was very strong.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful albergue/casa, in a lovely location. The owners have walked four Caminos and are so nice and helpful. Their dog is great too! The communal dinner was the best we’ve had on all our Caminos. Very high quality home-cooked food with fresh and healthy ingredients. The owners will pick you up from the bar in Casanova and drop you back there the next morning. However, it’s an easy and very pleasant walk from Casanova. Thank you Mar y Carlos for your kindness and hospitality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The peace an quite you experience in this place is place was just a blessing for me. The property sits off the Camino making it a great place for reflexion. Carlos and mar where amazing hosts and the food was just the cherry on the top. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! Best place I stayed at the Camino!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a tranquil place, Mar and Carlos are such kind people, nothing is too much trouble. Mar’s cooking is delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed a marvelous stay with Carlos, Mar, and their dog Bella. Casabela is a historic home from the 15th c. Completely renovated and accommodations were very nice, our dinner excellent, our hosts were so lovely and helpful. We left our walking poles behind because we were busy chatting while touring the whole place and they met us down the road and delivered them to us. We left with a list of wonderful recommendations for the rest of the trip. There was a welcoming and cozy living room with a fireplace to sit around in. Very much worth that extra 1.5 km off the Camino - which they will not make you walk as they will pick you up and return you to the main path. We walked it because it was a lovely day.
Cons: Leaving!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Basically, you can't fault this place. It's a haven. If you want to be far from the madding crowd, you won't find better in Galicia. One of the most photogenic properties I've ever seen. You're far from everywhere, but you won't care because there's enough beer, good wine and great food to keep you sated. The room was perfect. Waking up in a place like this makes you feel happy to be alive. The owners should change nothing. A highlight of an already beautiful region.
Cons: I don't think the owners' cat liked me.

Cons: WiFi only worked in one small area The meal was very expensive and not worth the expense. Great bath in bathroom and no plug supplied! At 85€, I expect a plug. Great kitchen and lounge area and nice touches like foot baths and shoe drying racks. Laundry facilities too which was very handy. Great and friendly receptionist.
Cons: Bathroom facilities a little small for the 20+ pods on each floor. Also not on the camino trail, so a 10 minute walk off the trail to get to it. Reception very friendly and did advise of this ahead of time.

Pros: Clean and beds were comfortable. On the Camino route and central to everything.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the private bunks. This was a nice change to the regular bunk beds in other alburgues. Also after hiking all day in the rain, they had lots of newspaper for our shoes and even had a shoe dryer!
7.1 Good
Pros: The beds were comfy and the kitchen area was nice and useful..
Cons: The showers were bad. Couldn't change the temperature and you couldn't turn on the automatic light from the shower or the toilet! The location wasn't great either..

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Occasionally you come across a place that’s exceptional. This was one of those places. It was in the detail, the little hand made privacy curtains on the bunk beds, the ultra cosy and warm burner that blessed the dormitory with warmth on a chilly October evening, the conveniently set up bathrooms with plenty of space in the showers, the individual foot towels we were all given, the comfortable mattresses, the kind welcome from marcello himself. As an added bonus, we got to enjoy his home cooked pilgrims dinner. It was out of this world, wholesome, delicious and even my gluten free diet catered for. Go stay in this lovely place!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The warm pellet stove after a rainy day.

Pros: Marcello hosted us like a family. He made an amazing Italian dinner. Facilities were decent with a very good shower. Close to the city centre.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The curtains around the bed

Pros: We enjoyed our night there. The beds were comfortable. The dining table was a bit cramped and bench seats ok. The meal was good. A little overpriced seeing we have had good meals for less before.
Cons: We enjoyed it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Marcello is an amazing host but also an excellent cook. His pilgrims meal, real Italian pasta, is one of the best meals you can get on the Camino. Definitely worth to stay at Casa Di Marcello
