it was close to Zenith the shower curtain was dirty and smelled, for €14 the breakfast was pretty poor. A basic chain hotel at 4* prices
its always very comfortable and quiet. Good safe parking with so many good restaurants and cafes nearby we would not pay the Holiday inn prices
Best hotel ever. Clean - great pool - spa. Helpful staff. I'd stay here again. Loved it. Loved everything.
The room was spacious and pleasant The location of the hotel was disappointing in that it was in a commercial complex most of which appeared to be closed down.
Ideal for check in at any time. Great for long journey from UK to South of France as not in central city yet convenient to motorway and nice clean quiet room with en-suite. Air con was noisy. Cost of meal / drinks were high so we ate next door in the shopping arcade. Holiday Inn should provide food in line with their 3 stars. Breakfast was ideal - self service with a range of options - at a 3 star level
Quiet location, as long as you keep the windows shut in the early morning Very run down rooms, well worn, but hotel is undergoing a complete restoration at present
Good value for money; large comfortable family room for four, helpful, friendly and efficient staff. Part of an out-of-town shopping complex with a very large supermarket, so useful for stocking up. No problems!
Ease of parking, easy to find the Hotel without going into the town, next to shopping Centre.
Room was very comfortable, perfect for a stay while traveling south Breakfast was very poor quality
No hassle Outside parking not as secure as I would have liked.
Friendly staff, clean rooms , nice restaurant , good value for money
Te easy way to reach it, the quality of the hotel.
Right in the heart of town. Lovely room with a very clean, modern bathroom. Room was a litle cramped but that was because we had an extra bed. Beds confortable. Rooms heating. Staff very friendly. Free street parking on Sundays.
Staff were very friendly, Hotel was ideally located, room was very good
Great location. Friendly staff. Staff recommended a good restaurant. Facilities a bit old but clean.
Redecoreated, spacious, clean and confortable room. Non-smoking rooms have smell of cigarette (there were smoking gests on them)
very good position in dijon and staff excellent no
Location and staff Room a little small but ok
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The tv was good, there were a lot of channels. The room was clean also. Maybe there could have been a kettle and some teabags, milk and sugar to make tea in our room. Also, some more pillows would have been nice. Everything else was perfect!
I thought the hotel was excellent. The rooms are comfortable, clean and so charming. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I was impressed with the class of the establishment. The nights were quiet and peaceful, I truly was able to rest and relax during my stay. I highly recommend to everyone!!
In old town centre. On site secure car park.
Needs upgrading to withstand their status.
Courteous and helpful staff The shower had very poor water pressure and the surface of the bath was extremely slippery and dangerous
Very convenient very clean
Location is good. The room was very nice, but a litle oldfashioned. You have to ask for the parking lot key every time you need to park your car. And the entrance for the parking is in an other street, behind the hotel.
Bar closed too early - we arived at 10:45pm and it was already closed
The room was very clean and quiet and we enjoyed a very nice continental breakfast served in the room - with no additional charge - Difficulty to open and/or close the windows and shutters
The breakfast was very good and the desk staff was excellent
Good location, very close to the train station and to the city centre. Quiet room. Internet works well. We were two people but several days staff only left one bath towel!
nothing accept for sleeping - breakfast was ok they were not rude but unhelpful and it was a bit old shabby it didn't feel as though it had been thoughly cleaned for a while but it was tidy and neat
very friendly staff & just a stone throw away from the city centre the room was clean but old, a renovation would be nice. the parking is quite narrow.
Luxurious room, friendly and helpful reception staff, good location Bar staff mostly absent and were not attentive
Very convenient location to the old city, close to good restaurants, very friendly and knowledgeable staff .
Know what to expect, expect Sofitels to be excellent! Usually have great resturants - Dijon's had an excellent one. The staff were very helpful..
A great, clean, comfortable and central hotel and with free garage parking! Restaurant is well worth a try, also. Will stay again for sure!
This is a lovely hotel in a lovely city. The hotel is in a great position for shopping and for seeing the sights of Dijon. I would highly recommend this hotel.
the restaurant poor satellite TV
Nice location, close to city centre.
Excellent location, friendly staff, the room is great (roomy, clean, nice lcd tv), esp. the beds, which are extremely comfortable (what they call "mybed"). Even though the price is not too cheap, we still find it's great value for the money.
The staff were very accomodating and the location was great The lifts!!
Great location in the heart of Dijon. not a great view, but nice rooftops.
The very comfortable large rooms with kitchen facilties, great location, very helpful staff. There was a problem one night with loud noises from the plumbing which we realized is a problem with certain rooms. We were very helpfully assiged a different room for that night.
The location ... The room stunk of cigarrette smoke. It was stale and had permeated everything. We left the window open all the time and the air conditioning but the smell was so strong that it never disappeared. It was a disgusting room. The beds are fold away, sofa style. The toilet was like one that is found on trains and areoplanes. The bathroom smelt mouldy. It was a disgusting hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone,. We moved onto the Ibis which cost us less and offered outstanding value. It was immaculate.
Central, large room, well priced Dated bedding/beds, carpet, due for tlc
Great central location, friendly helpful staff, clean & tidy, value for money, good facilities - jug, microwave, etc. Room smelt of smoke.
Centrally located. Large rooms. Flexible about requests. The Air conditioning did not work properly in one of the two rooms I booked.
Location is excellent, kitchenette is convenient for travel with young children, good and helpful staff. Parking is public, so need to walk from parking to hotel that may be inconvenient if you have luggage.
Excellent location, adequate cuisinette so that you can have your breakfast in your room, spacious rooms This time the staff was not able to help me with ordering a pizza...
We loved this little place! It's situated in the heart of the historical area and has a view of historical alleys. It has a kitchenette and we were able to make some home cooked meals. The room was roomy, comfortable and very pleasant! Nothing to complain about!
Great location right in the heart of town. Small but nice rooms with big windows and views. First room was not clean and had drapes ripped off the wall. Was quickly given a second room but card key system for electricity wasn't explained so I didn't have power the first night. Great potential for this place but not very user friendly.
Swimming pool was just the thing needed after warm trip Restaurant very costly
The location and the friendliness of staff
The restaurant There was no indoor pool as stated on booking.com and was the whole reason for us booking this particular hotel - so we were extremely disappointed.
My partner and I are vegetarians and while in France we found it very difficult to find any food that did not involve meat. However, the restaurant manager at this hotel was very sympathetic and arranged for a meal to me made that was not on the menu. Fantastic! The only complaint I have is that the room smelt slightly of damp.
Very modern, clean rooms. 10-15 minute walk to the historic centre.
More or less central, City-Ticket included, staff very friendly and helpful, room not too small, gratis parking. Interior fairly outdated and needs some renovation. Breakfast is not usual quality you will find in Mercure. Would only recommend if not charged full price. Otherwise you find reasonable and comparable room for less.
Good location, lovely room and wonderful staff None
The hotel is clean and the staff is kind A bit far from the city center more expensive compared to other hotels of the same level where we have been in France
Excellent Restaurant Rooms were dull and in need of updating.
Ambiance, Style, Accommodation Staff distracted by a large wedding: Impersonal service in dining room; late arrival of breakfast; Failure of bath plug;
Superb setting, wonderful buildings, great food and wine. Nothing
The food and rooms! We could not have a shower as it was broken. We had to have a bath!!!!!
The outside of the hotel is stunning, beautiful grounds, which makes the experience special. The staff are welcoming and gave us a room upgrade. The rooms felt a bit dingy and not perfectly clean, which you would expect at a four star hotel.
The building, grounds and peace and quiet bed was not very comfortable, choice at breakfast was very poor, dinner and wine prices too high for the quality.
Great position in wine country, though not a particularly nice village. Impressive chateau and lovely rooms Dinner was very disappointing with poor service and very ordinary steaks
Location, surroundings and external appearance moldy bathroom (flies, moisture, broken tile and no water in the bathtube). Room not so clean either ... No air conditioning. Restaurant: low/med standard. No sommelier service (astonishing for such an otherwise large choice of wine.) Poor service: dining and breakfast (Dining: no desert unless order provided at the begining - information received after the main course- Breakfast: coffee after 15mn, bread after 30 mn, cutlery after 1h and cups and glasses after 1h15). During breakfast time, also departure time, staff uses elevator (customers have to wait).Food: very inequal (dining: 3 starters tested 1: good, 1:average, 1 poor, 2 main courses tested:1 ok, 1 poor, no desert. Price: high . Breakfast: poor quality and choice. Price: very high.
Very restful environment. Room was very comfortable The meals were very expensive and marginal in terms of value. Breakfast at €22 was a lot. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice. Room was quite noisy from people upstairs - not their fault just very noisy plumbing
Loved the historic feel Wait staff could be more attentive.
We thought that it was the worst value for money of any hotel we have stayed in. We paid for a DeLUXE room and are put at the top floor with no lift and needed 60 stairs to reach the room. The aircon did not work and have one small dormer window. The room was sparley furnished and old and tired. We would never recommend this place to anyone.
The location - this hotel was two minutes walk from the bus/railway station (which was convenient) and five minutes walk into the town centre. Shops and restaurants nearby. I requested on the booking form "A room with a view (if possible)" but was given a room with partially opening frosted windows. The room was gloomy and smelt of cigarette smoke. The 'view' was of the fire escape of the adjacent unoccupied building. I asked at the reception to change rooms, which they did. The second room was bright and airy, with double opening windows, small balcony and a good view. The breakfast was expensive for a cold buffet. €8.50
Large room; comfortable; staff very helpful Street noise
Very close to the city center. The hotel has no parking but the have and agreement and you can park 24h for 6.5 EUR.
We apreciated the kindness of the staff and the cleanliness of our room. The only thing that we dind´t like is that the hotel is not so close to city center as we´ve imagined. It´s about a 10 min. walk.
Big room, friendly receptionist. Leaky shower, shabby breakfast room, broken coffee/tea machine at breakfast.
Comfortable room, good facilities The only drawback: the parking of hte hotel is in a different place.
Location to the Train Station. The furniture in the room had been updated but shame the walls were not painted, they looked cracked and dirty , plus mould on the shower door. Also the walls are so thin I could hear the person in the next room thinking!
The town was alive with a music festival, when usually Sunday nights are very quiet. Also friendly and helpful staff. Turning the power switch on, that just looks like another light switch was not obvious.
Very clean. Decent pool. Strong WiFi in lobby. Reception switched us to a room that received the WiFi signal. Across the street from the gare train station. Walkable to sights in Dijon. Most rooms don't receive WiFi signal. Rooms are very small. We stayed July 2010 and there was loud road construction just outside.
Close to rail station and city centre. Hotel was excelent for the price. Nothing specific.
This is a good hotel very close to the main train station - less than a 1 block walk. Also convenient to stroll to the historic downtown. The tram that circles the city stops right in front. Marvelously helpful clerk at the front desk. The breakfast is the bare minimum that one might expect.
Excellent room, good location and parking.
Hotel was spotless and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurant was not cheap but prix fixe was very good value for money. Well situated for old Dijon and very pleasant courtyard garden. Very quiet. Only previous point about needing better map or directions from station.
We found the hotel ideal for exploring Dijon, the location being on the free bus route is a bonus. breakfast was adequate but could be improved by using a local boulangerie.
Location and parking The room was far from what I anticipated a 'superior' room to be. It was cramped and dated with a small double bed. Glad I was staying for only one night.
The hotel was very nice and very comfortable with very helpful staff. The breakfast was very good.
The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. We arrived around 21:00 and was looking forward to eating in the restaurant but it had closed minutes before.
Located very close to the old centre of Dijon where sightseeing opportunities are best. Restaurants were in abundance.
Good central location, but in one way system. Attractive central courtyard. Room much smaller than expected, overlooking busy street; took upgraded room overlooking courtyard. Dinner: food over complicated and not wonderful.
Free easy parking; cheerful breakfast staff. Small room (called Superior); outdated bathroom; stained lavatory
Truly a destination property: inside the gated grounds, the ambiance and luxury of the surroundings overwhelms! Explore the c1131 Abbaye's interior spaces, lake w/ romantic row boat,herb/flower gardens, wine cellar, crypt, dine in the gastromic restaurant. Nothing but perfection at its best!
lovely room, attractive chateau but rather expensive restaurant and breakfast extra. Although a lovely place to stay we would have preferred to have paid more with an exclusive breakfast.
Your first view of the chateau is stunning. The grounds and the pool area were beautiful. When we first arrived the woman at reception did a wonderful job of introducing the amenities of the chateau. One night our air conditioning did not work and we had a difficult time sleeping. The next day we informed the management and they replaced the entire air conditioning unit.
Delightful locaton, staff very friendly and helpful and prepared to speak English. Ecellent food and free parking Main restaurant a little on the pricey side.Would have been nice to have breakfast included in the room price
We stayed for one night at Hotel-Golf, the staff were exceptionally helpful, the room was extremely spacious and comfortable, the evening meal was well presented and delicious. We would recommend the Hotel-Golf to those who enjoy a Hotel experience of high standard, luxurious living and in a beautiful location with amazing views.
Superb hotel amazing dinner the best we have ever eaten. Young Silva who worked in restaurant is a great credit to you. fabulous location, stunning çhateau, cannot wait to come back. Only regret was we only stayed 1 night next time will stay longer. very beautiful thank you very much. No everything was perfect.
easy acces, Chain hotel, good for one night
Room was a really goog size for us as we have a baby and there was loads of space for a travel cot. Difficult to find and difficult to get a children's play area
It was ideal for us. We wanted to stay in the region on our drive back to Wales from Italy.
Better than expected. Room was big, clean, flat screen TV, A/C, comfortable bed. Bathroom clean and ample. This was clearly a family oriented hotel (maybe it was the time of the year). However, noise wasn't much of an issue (if you don't mind kids running through the hall ways).
The carpets in the room and the public areas except for the restaurant were very dirty. They need to be replaced. Hotel not up to Novotel standards. I was disappointed.
Room comfortable and clean; Complete supplies and room services
The provision at breakfast was insufficient to cope with the demand. Breakfast itself was fine but the buffet area too small.
Breakfast is poor value.
Good facilities, good location and very good value for money. Excellent breakfast for the family.
The receptionist was lovely and friendly, the mini bar was well stocked and the room itself was really nice with ancient beams and lots of space. Breakfast was good but expensive
cuisine, wine, garden and terrace, staff service, room self service breakfast
The restaurant was quite exceptionally good. We had a superb meal. It was also good to be able to use the hotel swimmimg pool after a long hot drive from Nice.
Excellent hotel, well worth a visit. Room was excellent and large, food was excellent.
street/highway was too near to the hotel
Excellent location, easy to find, very attractive building, bedroom imaginatively arranged and decorated. Staff generally very friendly and helpful. The dinner would have been ludicrously overpriced anyway (starting at 39 euros for two courses), but the dreadful quality of the meat in both my wife's and my main dishes simply exacerbated this. The wine prices were just laughable, too, especially considering the hotel's location. To be fair, the management didn't charge us for either meal after we complained.
Staff, service and restaurant were all great. Best meal we had during our trip!
Comfortable but not overgrand small chateau in quiet vineyard position not far from motorway and halfway between Calais and South of France. Dinner was ok but but quite expensive for the quality and range offered.
