Duvet was very warm, blanket was not easily obtainable The rain! But that was not their fault
The hotel staff were helpful on arrival and when we had dinner. The quality of the food was more than we expected and the dining room service good. The room had been freshly decorated and was a good size and well appointed. We had some difficulty finding the hotel from the directions given on the booking confirmation - more detail would have been helpful. The satellite navigation system did not provide coveraage of the area.
We loved the fact there was a pool and its proximity to the champagne area The decor is very outdated really needs updating
This is a hidden gem....we shall definitely be going back!
Swimmingpool Expensive restaurant compared to quality
Comfortable rural stop over on journey back to Calais from S. of France. Good value, large rooms with free wifi in room. Plenty off free parking spaces in safe location. Great as a base for a few days if exploring the area including nearby Troyes. Breakfast and dinner menus expensive although a la carte restaurant looked good. We drove into Troyes (20 mins) where there were lots of restaurants.
The surroundings of this hotel are amazing - and the rooms are large. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The wi-fi did not work so I had to use the hotels network in their office to get online with my computer - this was a bit of a bother. The hair dryer in my room did not work - to fix this they opened a vacant room for me to dry my hair - this was also a bit inconvienent.
Size of room. Helpful staff. Location is picturesque and close to main motorway. Golf readily available on flat parkland type course Bit shabby in places showing signs of wear. Breakfast average spread for 12 Euro PP (automatically added to bill) but with many wasps and flies due to location in forest. Not necessarily Hotel's fault but disappointing.
Nice and plesant staff. Good dinner
An excellent peaceful hotel in beautiful location with very good food. There is plenty to do in this area.
Perfect location, very stylish, small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.
Exepreince of a Medieval Town
Very comfortable, very convenient hotel. Charming owner operators steered us to the best restaurants and the highlights of the wine region. Our kids loved the dog and the rabbit.
The excellent location in the hart of the city center. Public parking is near the hotel, there is the direct accesses from the parking to the hotel reception. The standard room is small but pleasant.
The hotel is very well placed in the centre of Troyes, making it easy to walk out straight into the centre for coffee and meals. It is a comfortable and welcoming hotel, and is an ideal stop for us on our way back to Switzerland from Calais. The shower screen leaked water everywhere !
Location of car parking, friendlness of staff/owners A bit expensive, no restaurant
I have stayed here several times and will continue to do so, the staff are wonderful, the location perfect for Troyes' old town and the accommodation very comfortable. An enjoyable stay each time.
Friendly welcoming helpful staff, good location and parking, lovely breakfast. Tired air-con system.
the size of the room and the staff no coffee making facilities in the rooms
The staff were lovely. The breakfast was good, if expensive. The location is ideal, right in the old city. The hotel was decorated in the 1980s and has not been redone - but they keep it very clean. It doesn't cost much so it is acceptable. Try and get a room on the top floor with the vaulted ceilings and huge bathtub. So much nicer.
breakfast - a good stop between Switzerland and home - a lovely City no
Good central location, reception staff excellent, very comfortable room, great for stop over enroute to UK.
Helpful, friendly staff. Comfort and convenience for city centre.
The friendly and helpful staff
In the centre of the city with nearby parking
Great location. High standard of equipment, furnishing and decor of rooms. Good furnishing and working order of equipment, cleanliness and provision of consumables in bathroom. Secure parking. Good breakfast. Private Parking is not adjacent to hotel, difficult to get to with one way streets and confusion with public parking.
All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The servoce, location, and huge room.
The comfort and cleanliness of the room It is a pity that they do not do evening meals in the hotel, however we found that we could get to the best restaurants in Bayeux by just walking, so that was not too bad
stunning hotel. beautiful building and extremely comfortable room
Beautiful building, filled with character, in a superb location Breakfast is very expensive!
the medieval building was exceptional and well preserved lovely garden nice atmosphere 100% france
The hotel is a converted old building, wonderfully done and our loft room was just lovely. The location is great, very close to the cathedral and little more than 5 minutes walk to the centre. The staff were all friendly and helpful, with maps and restaurant suggestions readily provided. There was a cosy little lounge for drinks and the garden was picturesque. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the restaurant but the menu sounded very tasty! We didn't go for the breakfast as 17 euros seemed a touch expensive, however there are some fantastic bakeries very close by.
fantastic place to stay -building amazing, staff so friendly and helpful. on site car parking if you have resevred a place. rooms so individual will go back.
The general ambience was delightful, the room magnificent and the location terrific. We would definitely consider booking here again. Unfortunately the hotel's restaurant was closed but we hadn't been informed in advance - however they recommended an excellent local restaurant and booked a table for su which proved a great success.
A very luxurious hotel with unobtrusive but efficient & friendly/helpful staff. Ambient restaurant.
Beautiful setting in quiet location within easy reach of all interesting locations.Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room with all necessary amenities.Restaurant closed Sunday evening so we could not try.Overall expensive but worth it.
NIce building, recently renovated Currently there is a lot of noise due to construction sites in the vincinity. Compared to other 4*-Hotels in the city the price was to high
Staff very helpful and polite.Building stunning and renovation first class
Easy location for a stopover. Parking. Several restaurants and even a cinema around th hotel. Rooms are due for renovations. A lot of them are very stuffy and don't smell fresh. We have stayed several times in this hotel out of convenience of location.
The fact that it was genuinely wheelchair accessible, incl a large bathroom. Well done Mercure! The toilet was too close to the side wall, making access difficult for right handed carers to clean a disabled person sitting on the toilet. Drop-down side bars on either side of the toilet would be useful and safer.
Complimentary use of internet. Friendly, helpful staff. Convenient car park. Spacious room. Easy access to city.
Very impressed with the staff on reception, most helpful and charming. Lovely, clean, large room, with the added luxury of a neat balcony from which we sat with a glass of wine to watch the 14th July fireworks, an unexpected treat on the way back from the Alps! No it was wonderful, although breakfast included in the price is always a bonus.
Clean, comfortable room with morning tea facilities. Good breakfast and generally relaxed atmosphere.
Large airy room with separate bathroom & toilet - always a good feature when sharing a room. Staff very pleasant & helpful & took pity on my poor attempts at French. Good buffet breakfast available for reasonable additional payment, as was secure parking. None detected
Luxury, tranquility and central location (within walking distance to centre of town) and fact that they maintain good standards in their hotels - Troyes was not different form rest. It gives one peace of mind to book at an Accor hotel knowing the service and quality will be good Yes the fact that English is not spoken by most staff and that advice required eg on toursim recommemndations to scenic places, etc could not be given due to lack of English proficiency by staff members - waiters in breakfast room could also not understand English and most TV programs were in French
The hotel was very stylish and comfortable the shower screen was useless and we flooded the floor, as did our friends in the next room, you should fit shower curtains!
Although no restaurant the steak house next door is good and plenty of places to eat within 5-10 mins walk. Breakfast was quite expensive.
I normally stay closer to the centre of Troyes but this hotel is quite close. Staff very friendly and helpful. No in-house restaurants but quite a few within short walking distance.
Easy to find being near the station which is signposted throughout the city. Good price and lovely large bathroom. Friendly service and free wi-fi. Near town centre and easy to find overnight and weekend parking.
The hotel was convieniently located and good value. It was comfortable for a short stay. Room and bathroom were both large and clean. a cot was provided foc for the baby and was already setup up in the room before our arrival. Parking was not a problem for us it was right opposite the hotel and was free after 6pm and on sunday. Some of the decor was a little dated and worn
Polite service, comfortable room and a reasonable price. Soundproofing could be better.
Very comfortable hotel, with easy access / location, in an excellent position to visit the medieval town centre.
Location was very good for both station and town centre. The woman on reception was friendly and pleasant. The road outside was noisy and I had to have the window open because of the heat.
The location was very central, and I felt that the area was very safe.
its location is ideal for the Old Town. Duty staff were very helpfull The Hotel shows obvious signs of wear and could do with new carpets here and there and a splash of paint. But for a one or two night stay it is fine. Maybe a little over priced with the above in mind
Location is convenient. Shower is broken.
just an overnight stop in a long trip I found the bathroom a bit too poor.
The woman at reception was friendly. The location was an easy walk to the historic center of town. It is a budget accomodation and fine for the price. We don't believe the room or bath had been vacuumed before we arrived as evidenced by hairs on bathroom floor etc..
Secure parking garage for guests. Friendly staff. Close to motorway. The location and overall appearance isn't great. I suited us for one overnight stay on our way to Switzerland. I wouldn't recommend the hotel for a longer stay unless you have to be in the area.
Cleanliness of room and travel cot ready with bedding The room was very sparce, pillows were lumpy, tv was tiny for the size of the room, one tiny bin in the bathroom, no instructions on how to use the heating or window blinds. The air con allows them to have no radiators but there was nowhere to hang your towels. Our shower attachment had broken so we had to have a bath in the morning.
This is a very quaint and charming hotel wit a bilingual staff eager to please. I would highly recommend it.
Clean efficient close to motorway simple - fabulous art gallery opposite, nice walk to river
Excellent location within walking distance of cathedral and centre of town. Beatifully restored building. Nothing
Friendly staff and very clean hotel. The hotel does not serve bar food, therefore all meals needed to be ordered and eaten in the resturant which could prove expensive and time consuming.
The room etc was well presented & very clean. ideal for young families.OK For overnight stay but fair distance from autoroute. Buffet style dinner exspensive @ 32 euros each John King uk
nice, clean, quite room. In boat style, cool for kids.
The Rooms were very spacious with 2 souble beds , seperate toilet and bath/shower rooms. buffet dinner was great, with local wine for set price.
The staff and the style of the hotel - excellent for adults and children Rooms too noisy
The Hotel was clean, well presented, & the staff were very obliging, the pirate theme was interesting, & although I thought the number of children present would be intrusive, they were not, a very pleasing stay ! No !
Excellent Hotel staff and facilities The hotel is alongside Nigloland theme park and being a Pirate themed hotel is orientated towards young children no problem but not the place for peace and tranquilty. The restaurant is good but no choice of pricing,it's 28 euros inclusive of everything..Wine water etc.If you want to stuff yourself fine ,but there should be an alternative. The english speaking chef Joseline was a godsend and extremley helpfull
The atmosphere and the staff helpfullness
garage facility. colour scheme in room horrific. tiny television too high on wall and leading to torticolis.l bathroom extremely small. wonder how they got the 2 stars rating.
Clean, quite, close to all city landmarks. Very confortable from this point of view.
Staff excellent and friendly..good secure parking. Bathrooms rather small, and a slightly musty smell...as if we were the first guests of the season...but very clean and warm.
Secure parking. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff (one gentleman that we saw - Very small hotel) Room a bit tired and basic.
It was near enough to the town centre and restaurants to walk. Also there is secure parking with electronic security gate, but you do need to book as space is limited The room was very basic but comfortable. The showerwas really small. it is under new management so the new proprietors may do some upgrading.
clean, comfortable and value for money
Good 2-Star value. Clean and comfortable. Near centre Bedroom wall a bit thin. Luckily neighbours switched off same time as us.
Very friendly and helpful staff and good central location.
The location was good just a short walk into the centre. The pillow was useless and there were no spares
Comfortable bed, good location, secure parking Appeared to have been badly painted during the 70's and not touched since, ingrained dirt esp in bathroom, Tv had one channel only that worked, shower didn't work properly, en suite was a cupboard.
It was fairly central and provided adequate rooms and breakfasts. The lack of parking facilities next to the hotel, and the lack of a loungue or bar in which to relax after walking round the city, before retiring to one's room.A lift would have been a great boon, particularly if one's room was on the 2nd floor!
This Hotel is basic but is clean and in a great location in a very unique city.Great value for money.
The hotel is beautiful, quaint and unlike any other hotel. We love that it is family run and not a chain. The breakfast is excellent, the staff were very kind and willing to help. The room was kept very clean and the linens smelled wonderful. The location is perfect with shops, restaurants, the city center and free parking all within blocks. We loved every minute. The beds are a bit small for my 6 foot 5 inch husband and mattress is very firm but fairly comfortable.
Cheap, clean. Access to some rooms is difficult because it included passing outside the building. However the room was ok, and clean.
Location one could call it is vintage, I would say it is terriblle, but since I paid 50 for night it is my problem
Very clean and nicely decorated. Very central. When booked we asked for a cot but not provided. On arrival we asked for an extra bed (instead of the cot) but was told no as the receptionist was on their own.
Excellent location for touring the old part of Troyes. Basic but clean, excellent value and friendly staff. Free and easy to access parking in large municipal lot. Good idea to find out where the lot is before you arrive in case you can't find parking right near the hotel for check-in and/or arrive before check in.
Close to city center
Room decor No high setting for shower
Big room for France. Good Breakfast.
Pleasant location in a charming village. Good restaurant in old mill building. Clean modern room but showing a little wear. Staff were very helpful.
Peace and quiet, good food and a comfortable bed although next time I would specify twin beds. Felt a bit insecure having to have the bedroom/terrace door open to get fresh air having had two incidents in the South of France where with a similar situation we have had intruders. A window would be welcome.
glass of champagne on terrace overlooking river. hotel felt a bit unloved
The rooms are very cosy and comfortable. The restaurant is pretty good and they are very welcoming to my dog that is always with me. They have two beautiful fireplaces and they never seem to light them.
location was interesting - water wheel a nice feature. In the stream by the water wheel, large fish and crayfish could be seen. Great selection of spirits and champagne. Food was terrific and a good value breakfast as well. Rooms, clean, large and relaxing One of our party did not like the menu or the food - finding it a bit poncy and not to her liking at all! so be aware, if you are looking for a traditional restaurant, there may not be something you like on the menu. However, the rest of us thought it was great!
Good price, good kitchen, good wine selection to acceptable price, friendly and helpful personnel.
helpful staff, nice location, very clean, excellent food and restaurant. bar closed early
Lovely location and a pleasant ambience. Food was good and the wine was excellnt value. We would stay there again.
Hotel staff very helpful & friendly & a good ambience.
The staff was very pleasant and the restaurant there was excellent There was only one other place to eat in the village a buffet at an amusement park
Nothing exceptional We found the overnight stay very expensive and did not give value for money , taking full account of the pound/euro exchange rate. The quality of the accommodation and meals was not of a standard we would expect from a simlar category hotel in th UK. We have travelled very extensively in France for over 30 years and note a sharp decline in quality and value for money in recent years.
The location was good. Parking oposite the hotel. The staff were helpful and excellent. Bathroom and linen were clean. The carpets in the room on 4th floor were not clean although everything else was and rooms a little smaller than was desireable.
No Tea or coffee making facilities in the room
Good location Rooms very small and although we booked a non smoking room the room smelt of smoke. I mentioned this to the receptionist and she told me that there was nothing she could do as the hotel was full!!
Reception staff at the hotel were excellent. After a day travelling, the choices for the evening meal were very good. Breakfast was expensive.
Excellant bathroom and spacious bedroom. Good to have a seperate toilet. Dinner was very nice and well presented. Lovely old building with lots of character. Verry, verry noisey with traffic. Poor service and extremely slow in restaurant. Swimming pool in another building and not kept clean, with a filthy toilet. Not an inviting environment!
Nothing in particular - the food at dinner was ok reception staff were unfriendly, dining room was run down and dusty
Thought that the restaurant was set in a beautiful room and that the food was wonderful. The owner and his wife were very helpful with a problem that we had. The atmosphere in thre restaurant was dead.... You could hear a pin drop. Also had to call waitress over for everything, from apperatif, wine list,to bread with cheees course.Such a shame when the food was so good.
the breakfast buffet needs to be improved
Room for 3 people good value, large and comfortable and my daughter was delighted to find the bath was a jacuzzi. Hotel an interesting mix of modern and traditional, largely well blended. Our menu at 18 euro for dinner was excellent. Breakfast was expensive at 9 euro a head, although it was extensive, next time, I think I would just have a coffee in the bar.
The young waiter who was friendly and made every attempt to communicate. Restaurant set meal was very good and inexpensive. Catered well for children too... Receptionist on arrival was unwelcoming and brusque and made little attempt to communicate in anything other than her Mother Tongue at a speed.
Very dog friendly. Food good. Dinner unavailable on the Sunday night. Nightmare finding an alternative!
The hotel is perfect for what we wanted: affordable, clean and near Troyes. Piney village is prettier than I had expected. The hotel is on a road with many trucks but despite my fears they did not affect us as the room was either well insulated or the trucks stop driving past at night. The staff were friendly. The old (i.e. half-timber) rooms are particularly charming. The shower sprayed water on the floor and the floor got a little slippery
Clean spcious room with comfortable beds. Nice swimming pool. Breakfast not great. Smell of drains in one of the corridors
Pleasant friendly reception staff. Bed was comfortable given the price paid for room. Food ok for the price and parking on site. Free wifi. Does its job for a one night stop over. Bathroom had a lingering odour. Room quite stuffy.
peace and quiet
Plenty of bathroom space. Nice restaurant. Very friendly young man on Reception. None
does not really deliver the value for money that similar hotel chains offer
Its sitaution near the autoroute and Troyes city centre In common with other Campanile Hotels I have stayed in, our rooms were in urgent need of refurbishment.
Good, clean bathroom and comfortable bed.
Easy access from motorway. It's not deluxe but it is clean & friendly. None really.
Clean Tidy and functional Nothing
Leaving Massively over priced "shoe box sized" rooms. Some very rude and unhelpful staff. Restaurant service appalling.
Clean, cheap and cheerfull Aircon was not very efficient, car park was not securred;
