You would not know it by the sort of average photos that I saw on-line, but Site 61 was better in many ways than I expected. I hadn't stayed in a hostel for many years, so was not sure what I would find for such a (compared to hotels) low price. What I found was a well-run hostel operated by a kind and personable staff, a half dozen immaculate (and seemingly brand new) bathrooms (clean toilets, showers with great water pressure and warm water) and rooms that were also clean. i also enjoyed chatting with the staff in the mornings before I headed out for my day. Love this place ! I don't love bunk beds, but who does? Just one of the things one must deal with when staying in a hostel. But as far as bunk beds go, mine was comfortable!
The people and location were amazing. This place was home and for a brief stay I felt like I had family there.
Very comfortable "hostel" Breakfast available Room sizes varied to accommodate your group Was able to check in the next morning after arriving at midnight. Fantastic location, great spaces to relax Bring your own bar soap/toiletries
I enjoyed that it was setup like a hostel. Community shower and restroom with a community kitchen. Also, I enjoyed that they offer ear plugs right at the front desk. So in case that you don't want to hear your neighbors then you can use them to get some beauty rest. The air conditioning in there was not cooling very well and it was slightly I unclmfortingto have to wait to go to the restroom. Make sure you get up early to use it.
Amazing southern young hospitality from staff. The environment of this hostel is very welcoming. I travelled solo and had no problem meeting like-minded friendly adventure types here. Very clean, too. Not sure what could have been better, honestly.
