Pros: We rented two rooms and our son's room, a standard double, was charming with pine furnishings and a view. The public rooms have charm in a kitschy, provincial way. The view from the dining room is especially nice.
Cons: Our room, a junior suite, was very unattractive. It had a beautiful view, but a fold-out sofa with a green top and cushions covered in white mattress pad fabric, a divider that blocked the view, and a saggy bed were all unacceptable.

Pros: Excellent dinner, but closed Sunday. Breakfast simple but supplied cheese on request. Owner friendly and spoke excellent English as did the staff. Interesting location with canal and the inclined plane canal boat lift.
Cons: Parking a little limited but was not a problem to us. There was a hand douche spray but no proper shower.
Pros: Very helpful staff, who made a real effort to speak english to us. Very good food is a lovely dining room.
Cons: closed for dinner sundays, however this seemed to be the norm in the area
Pros: Comfortable room though bathroom /toilet cramped - evening meal food good seemed to be made in hotel not mass produced
Cons: breakfast poor no choice (old fashioned French style continental) not worth money
Pros: This is a very old hotel along the French canal system and is also reasonably close to the main highway. Our stay here was a highlight of our travels as the charm of the hotel was at least matched by the gracefulness of our hosts. We ate dinner here and suggest that anyone else staying here do so as the food, preparation and service are superb, and not in a snobbish way as in high-end establishments!
Pros: Friendly welcome, charming owner, delicious meal beautifully served. We felt very comfortable and would return again. Hotel is right by the canal and we had a lovely walk.
Pros: Lovely position, gorgeous outlook beside the river, faded but charming large bedroom and bathroom, simple breakfast in nice and quirky dining room.
Cons: Do not arrive between 3 and 5.30pm and especially not on a wednesday when restaurant and hotel are closed! A phone call got us in ,but no food,no drinks, nor use of terrace etc...
Cons: The web site quotes as below The "deck" leaning above the river Zorn with view on the boats going in and out of the locks on the canal will refresh your peacefull moments during the hot summer days." In fact you cannot see the canal or boats from the dining deck! The waiting staff had difficulty in completing our dinner order. I was asked to pay for dinner and room the night before - which I did. The waitress gave details of the bill to a colleague who prepared a credit card slip which I signed. I was not given a copy of the itemised bill. When I asked for one I found that breakfast (which we did not intend to take) had been included. This I consider to be sharp practice.
Pros: People very friendly, helpful & efficient. Restaurant 1st class - wonderful food. Hotel style & decor charming - very French countryside feel.
Cons: Mattress on bed too soft - backache next day. Shame as apart from this stopover was excellent.
Pros: A hotel of grerat character in a lovely area
Cons: The rooms look llike they could do with a bit of modernisation
