Suzanne and Frédéric are perfect hosts and made us very welcome. Excellent breakfast in a lovely room decorated with much charm. Highly recommended !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely self-contained space in a lovely home, with its own patio facing a disused truffle woods. The hosts were kind and welcoming and the breakfast was fabulous with home and local produce.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: At Nid de mesanges in Chaffour sur Vell everything is... tres belle surroundings, room and food all is really very good we’d liked to stay a longer spell. Frederic and Suzanne are great hosts. Very nice talking to. The Correze region is fantastically beautiful, almost pastoral. Nicest we have visited.

Pros: Beautiful house. Modern and contemporary. Excellent hosts. Delicious breakfast, with.yoghurts bread, home made confitures and pastries/cakes, juice, eggs and plenty of coffee. Ample parking with.grounds and great location for touring around the area There is even an excellent restaurant within 10 minutes walking distance.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was fantastic .I would love to come back
Cons: I can't think of a thing
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: After 6 hours long and congested drive from Paris, the owner welcomed us with not a handshake, not ´Bonjour’, instead waving his watch at our face shouting at us ´do you know what time it is’. We were half an hour late compare with the initial time communicated, and I sent him an email to inform him. He kept shouting that he couldn’t sleep due to late arrival guests like us. Extremely rude and agressive.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a very clean and an extremely well decorated home, a tasteful residence. The hosts are kind and very gentle. The breakfast is adequate, though no savoury addition to the content of the menu of the continental breakfast on offer.
Cons: It appears that the rooms that are used for B&B are on the second floor. Therefore, it is difficult for those with walking disabilities. Especially as there is a flight of stair to enter the house.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The couple who own the property could not have been nicer. They were very helpful and kind. The accommodation was excellent and the breakfast good.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place ..a must see .. real Historic Chateaux and beautifully kept.
Cons: But be ready to carry you luggage up a spiral stone staircase ....fabulous ..but a bit hard going for older bones !
6.8 Good
Pros: Second visit to the Chateau. Prior 3 years ago. New female owner lovely and very welcoming. Breakfast good although included in room cost on the previous visit. Room tidy and a good sleep.
Cons: Male owner not so welcoming, said hello but otherwise not wanting to engage in conversation. The opposite of his lovely wife. The once beautiful gardens are run down and in need of maintenance. The male owner needs to put some gardening clothes on and start trimming hedges. The chateau is beautiful but has lost the special feeling that brought us back for a second visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a wonderful experience from start to finish.Your hostess Cecile, whose family have occupied this wonderful house for generations, was gracious and friendly, and, she went the extra mile to sate the hunger of 4 travellers, whose night of arrival sadly coincided with the closure of the restaurant over the road. We two couples shared the Rose suite which was beautifully furnished with large and comfortable beds. What a splendid sleep we all had. Our tasty and creatively prepared breakfast was served on a marvellous terrace by a lovely member of staff who added to the ambiance of a memorable all too brief one night stay. By the way if you don't enjoy the views across the lake from the garden then I guess there is no pleasing you.
Cons: Now this is a tough one!! We have thought long and hard and the only thing we can think of is maybe availability of some sort of tee/coffee making facility in the bedroom might be nice, but maybe your hosts would not want to take the risk of the room furniture being stained or damaged so in all honesty were happy to go without!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cecile (owner) and Elodie could not have been nicer and more welcoming. It is still a family home although vast and we were welcomed like family. Very tastefully modernised and not spoiled.
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: Conveniently located near to Brive set in tranquil location overlooking a lake. Beautiful garden area to relax. Delightful hosts who were very obliging.
Cons: 85 steps of a steep spiral staircase to get to our bedroom ‘Orchidee’. You need to be fit and active as it is a long climb and difficult with luggage. This needs to be made clear as some less able people would really struggle. Weather was hot and room quite stuffy but a fan was provided which made it more bearable. Servicing of the room was not automatically carried out, in fact after two days without a service, we had to ask to get clean towels and bins empty etc. This was done on day 3 but only one lot of toiletries provided for the 4 day stay so make sure to bring your own shampoo and soap. Paying in cash only is an inconvenience and potentially a security issue as the room does not have a secure box or safe. Whilst a unique experience to stay in such an old castle, from our perspective it was not what we were expecting for the price and based on the reviews made of the property.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Beautiful castle. Beautiful setting. Excellent breakfast. Clean rooms. Modern day bathroom. Impossible to be The Ritz because it’s a castle. Great value.
Cons: Bed not comfortable.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old château with all the mod cons. Plenty of room with lovely decor. Massive kitchen, dining and salon. Terrasse outside with beautiful views of the lake. Lovely hosts. Got to see wild boars!
Cons: Nothing really
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing chateau; beautifully furnished and in a delightful area close to the lake. Made very welcome and breakfasts on the terrace were very memorable. The latitude and longitude on booking.com is not accurate - but if you get to village you can't miss the chateau opposite the restaurant. Lovely and cool inside in hot weather.
Cons: You have to climb a minimum of 50 steps to get to your room. It's well worth it - but bear it in mind!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chateau Marsac is beautifully located on a hill and very quiet. There are only 4 rooms which make for a very private experience. The room was one of the most beautiful ones we’ve ever seen; inside the castle, very large. It felt like the whole floor was ours. The design is modern and the furniture high end. The owner of the property is a great host who makes sure the experience is above any expectations.

Pros: Very good food, although we had expected a la carte rather than a set menu. Friendly welcome
Cons: The WiFi connection - particularly given that the hotel is not in a town or village so there is little to do after dinner! Aslo the coffee was not so good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing classic building remodeled with all modern comforts. The staff speak many languages including Hebrew
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice people working there. You are out in the country but no real walking paths. Most of the immediate surrounding area seemed to be privately owned. There is a large deck and garden area around the pool with tables and lounge chairs for enjoying the outdoors and a glass of wine. A great location for checking out all the surrounding villages and Medieval towns. Great breakfast at a very reasonable price was waiting for us every morning. (Very clean)
7.5 Good
Pros: Reception was very good, very friendly. The dinner was excellent value in the restaurant. It is close to Collognes de Rouge without being busy. Lovely outlook from our room ( not all rooms). Good parking.
Cons: WiFi is a little flaky (not their fault)
4.5 Okay
Pros: Good food, both dinner and breakfast. Manager was helpful in changing our booking when we had to curtail our stay.
Cons: Location right on a busy road. We had bikes in the car, but couldn't have cycled from there. Room, staircase area all a bit tired.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: dinner was very good very quiet location. lovely view
Cons: Not a dislike, but the rooms are getting rather dated
7.5 Good
Pros: We were able to walk to Turenne from the hotel, a nice plus. The pool was closed (it was cold) but the owner kindly opened the gate so we could put our feet in after our hike to the hotel.
Cons: It was the end of the season so low-staffed. Breakfast wasn't included, and it was overpriced for what was offered. The room price was higher than other places we stayed in the area which did include breakfast.

Pros: The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. Basic, no frills accommodation, good if you’re after a budget overnight stay. It was exactly what we expected for the price, no complaints. Breakfast was only 5 euros, basic with good coffee.
Cons: Our room was above a noisy bar area, the noise stopped around midnight, thankfully I was not needing an early night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient overnight stop from A89/A20. Parking on site. Helpful reception kindly facilitated late check-in. Room clean, fast aircon heating, firm comfortable bed, good shower, towels, simple tasty breakfast in the bright bar was great value. Workmen were already having their lunch!! Cosy family run small hotel bar restaurant with home made food and friendly cheerful service. Really enjoyed our short visit. We think that “soundproof” refers to exterior noise but we hope that our end room was also soundproof for other guests’ comfort on account of our late arrival. Thank you!!

Cons: Noise from the road in the early morning. Quiet in the evening though
6.8 Good
Pros: Facilities
Cons: Food was really basic and breakfast was very poor...
5.0 Okay
Pros: Availability of a Boules/Petanque space
Cons: A price on the menu we were shown for an evening meal suggested it was 12 euro. In fact we were charged 23 euro. The food was appalling for a French Hotel. A choice of only two dishes. The maigret du canard and salmon were poor quality. The french fries were poor english standard oven chips. No tea and coffee facility in the room and no television or radio in the room. Very poor for the price compared with a Camponile.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, old good style hotel, staff very kind and service oriented
Cons: Not sure about the service during the breakfast
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was good
Cons: Breakfast was very basic and rooms uncomfortable. Also smelly drains.

Pros: Great swimming pool, friendly staff, good food. Lovely grounds and great shaded parking area, very handy in the summer. Nice menu, great wine, friendly staff in the restaurant. For walking tours, cycling and canoeing the staff know their stuff.
Cons: Rooms a bit rustic - especially bathroom fittings, carpet. No air conditioning, just an old fan. The hotel has a lot of charm, but the rooms would be better if fully renovated with shower that can be hung at different heights properly and nicer fittings in general. It was clean though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Location of the Place is magical, hidden away in calm nature. The rooms have a more recent antiquity, but this is just adding to the charm. The property is big and has lots of opportunities to entertain oneself. The staff was really great, friendly and helpful making our stay perfect.

Cons: Nothing not to like
