We have stayed here almost every year and I was excited to see the new additions to the hotel. The construction is clearly behind schedule. The water in the pool was freezing, there was no jacuzzi ready, and the management's response to these shortcomings was a Popsicle. The normally great customer service was also lacking as the hotel servers are working in the Carrabbas restaurant and the elevator issues were enough to push me to the stairs. The hotels great location and good price are enough to get me back next year but I will not be so forgiving if they fall short again.
Hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. Loved that it was located on the beach.
The hotel room is a little small but comfortable and clean. We had an ocean front room which offered a great view even though tropical storm Isaac brought high winds and rain for several days. The hotel restaurant was good but a little expensive. One draw back is the on-site construction of a new tower addition to the hotel (some noise).
This hotel has the best customer service! Even my teenage daughters could not get over how nice all the staff were! We arrived early and got a room right away. When we asked for another room to have a better ocean view they were very helpful and switched our room the next day! Super friendly and helpful staff! Loved our stay and will be back!
My friends, my sister, and I stayed at this location for my sister's 30th birthday! The service was the best that we've had! Every employee treated us well...from the entrance to the staff at Carrabba's!! We felt like valued guests. The hotel is not in the center of the action, but we used taxi services and rode the bus to Blocks 1-15 each day. I recommend this hotel for anyone...families, couples, friends, business, or solo travel!!!
I travel to South Beach 4-5 times at year and I always stay at the Royal Palm for some reason I wanted to try something new and up north mainly because the beach is better. This hotel is horrible, the staff is very rude, very noisy and it doesn't include umbrellas or chairs by the beach. I rather pay extra money and go to Royal palm where the staff is amazing and they include umbrellas and comfortable beach chairs!!!
Great Hotel after a cruise or anytime. It's a Courtyard with an Art Deco style. The Beach and pool are great. There's a boardwalk that is over 2 miles. A nice Tiki bar and the staff is well trained and helpful. You can rent a bike and take an easy ride down to South Beach. Cab fare is about $7-8. The old hotels are very cool. If you want to walk to South Beach, find something near Lincoln Rd,which has great restaruants. Go to Jerry's Deli too on 15th and Collins. 9/2/2011
3rd year in a row we stay at this hotel. Even with a small renovation project that started halfway through our vacation, this place makes the other places on Collins Ave. look and feel like 1 star hotels. The service plus the location plus the atmosphere makes this place the perfect place for anyone looking for a relaxing time with the option to zip over to south beach for a good party. I can't wait to get back next year to chek out the results of the recent renovations.
This hotel met my expectations for our short stay while waiting for a cruise. I liked the location. The affordability of the bus from airport to hotel and along the strip was great. All day pass for 5 bucks if I remember correctly. Food at hotel was pricey but decent. Drinks are small and expensive! Overall I would stay again.
This was probably the best hotel on Miami Beach for the value. The higher end hotels like Fountain Bleu and Eden Roc are within walking distance. It's located right on the beach, there's a nice beach bar located on the premises, and the rooms were very clean and tidy, and staff was friendly. There is free internet services in addition to complimetary coffee daily. The location is so convienient, that its within walking distance to catch a bus or cab anywhere in Miami. South beach is about a $12 cab ride and only $2 on bus. This is the best location is Miami beach, if your looking for a great experience without burning a hole in your pocket, and without feeling uncomfortable around the pretentious crowds!
The room was not very big for the money, though it was comfortable. The fitness center was rather small so we worked out outside more frequently. A free breakfast would have been a nice touch.
I just returned home from Miami Beach and would explore other options before committing to this hotel. I stay at Courtyard a lot for work, and had high expectations for this premise based on other Courtyard experiences, and these expectations were not met. First of all, the internet was not working in the room so after 2 hours of being on the phone with tech support, I finally could get online. I ordered room service, which never came. Upon calling about it I was told my order was not on file, and the kitchen was closed so I went without eating. I also had a few other minor service issues with the hotel, and while the hotel is very clean, and has a great location, there are other places right next door I would consider before checking back into this location
Overall the Marriott hotel is an extremely decent hotel for the buck. However, you can expect to pay premium for room service/drinks. The hotel is NOT close to nightlife, so be prepared to pay $* for a cab or $* for a bus ride.
