Mistake by bar staff allowing us a bottle of Chablis for the price of a Pinot. Sure the scrambled egg was powdered like war time. I have not read the guest reviews but have answered"yes" below
Cleanliness of Hotel Not enough tea bags and window clasp broken
Easily found and accessible, comfortable room, quiet night Slightly disorganised at breakfast, but there was apparently some kind of crisis happening
Convenient location, recognised level of service and standard Stained underside of top bedcover
convenience of being near main road Food in the restaurant was disappointing. Generally thought the hotel was in need of some refurbishment-i.e. carpets, mattress. Delay in checking out as meal from night before had not been added to our account-only through our honesty was it included in payment.
The were very helpfull always cheerfull and willing to go the extra mile. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet comfotable place to stay. Could need a small renovation.
Evening meal in the restaurant. Cleaniness of the room.
Staff on arrival was very nice and friendly. The room was a disgrace and should not be sold. The bathroom and towles were so unclean I chose not to shower. Lampshade missing off the wall bed was very uncomfortable. Stains on the funiture and walls. I stay in hotels a lot and this one is the worst for a very long time. Dissapointed becasue I expected more from Ramada.
My sister's 50th birthday celebration.
Everybody was most attentive, pleasant and cheery!!
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. I was working nearby, and was an excellent location for Kings lynn and Norfolk countryside. The food in the bar was very reasonably priced and I would certainly recommend the carvery (Tues-Fri). There was no 3 network in the Crown (but this was a problem in all of Gayton) so the free Wi-Fi was most appreciated. I would recommend The Crown. There was an obvious plumbing problem (probably down to the age of the building) which meant the shower, sink and toilet made some loud noises, however this wasn't a real problem.
The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and warm. There was plenty of hot water.
This, due to the friendliness and helpfulness of staff, the beautiful location and good facilities, is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Due to an oversight, for which we received apologies the next morning, we had to go and find our own towels.
Excellent food, evening meal and breakfast. Service exceptional especially at breakfast
The cleanliness of the room and shared facilities was excellent.
To many to list None
A very welcoming and friendly staff and the food was excellent. The Bathroom was accross the Landing from our Bedroom and although you could lock the door from the inside - other guests could just walk in and therefore you could not leave any of your toiletries there. No telephone or television in the room.
Quiet, friendly, charming. None
Private bathroom was immaculately clean, but we would have preferred a shower.
The staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble Booked 2 deluxe rooms and 1 had a broken bed (didn't say anything as only staying 1 night but I did expect better) also only baths no showers
Having motel type rooms with parking outside the door Plenty of hot water, but low pressure, so difficult to have good shower. Lovely hot baths though.
The food was excellent. Could have done with a few more vegetarian options on the bar menu though.. The room. We got there and we were quite impressed, initially. Then we were shown to our room and were taken out to the garden where we were shown a prefab attachment. It was comfortable enough, but a Premier Inn would have been better value.
Welcoming, warm, comfortable, nice food, pleasant staff (if a little stretched!!), good location for my trip Air freshener in room over-powering and noisy! Would have preferred a shower instead of a bath (small point and not a bad one)
The staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay there again The room we stayed in was clean and plesent but could do with updating
Clean, smart, friendly, good value Should have two armchairs in a double room
The de luxe room was spacious and comfortable with all the luxury accroutiments that one associates with quality.
The room was lovely, spacious and comfortable with a very nice bathroom. The overall decor was nice and modern. I would have liked it if as we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary (which I stated) they might have done something a bit special not necessary expensive (chocolates on the pillows, fruit basket that type of thing) The rooms could have been a little warmer as we went during winter.
Helpful polite staff. Excellent food and good rooms.
Smart and modern Expensive for a country hotel
Very helpful staff, very comfortable room and an exellent breakfast. We will almost certainly stay again next year. nothing
Decor lovely, friendly staff all you want for a relaxing weekend only thing was the weather and the hotel could'nt fix that.
visit different places croma hunstanton kings lynn
where it was situated and the tranquillity
personal service and helpfulness of the staff No
Bedroom was well equipped and comfortable Certain staff not much into customer service (but one called Anna very good). Running very loud Friday night discos is not compatible with having guests who want to sleep!
hotel badly needs refurbishing
I liked the central location. The TV didn't work so I was moved to another with a good TV, but the room was very cold. The old hotel had not had double glazing installed and the central heating radiator could not be adjusted. There was also a constant hum (from nearby M & S, I think) which was annoying at night.
Reception service most helpful Stain in barh room 2
Good location for my needs. Good bathroom. Hotel very tired and in need of renovation which seems to be in progress. Bathroom very good and clean but the bedroom quite the opposite.
I only agreed to answer 4 questions! The staircase handrail and breakfast The fire alarm at around midnight - no-one seemed to know what to do. The fire assembly point wasn't mentioned. It seemed to be assumed to be a false alarm even before the tampered box was discovered.
Room was good size and the Hotel was close to local amenities The windows could do with updating as they did not supress the noise or keep the draft at bay
The convenience of all facilities on ground floor. The real aged look of the interior. It can never be `swish`. As we age ---------. When enjoying a drink in bar,and require a refill, the need to chase for the bar staff. but we try to understand `shortage of staff.`
Central town location Rooms extremely tired and in need of updating. Bathroom in serious need of updating as very shabby. Had to run the cold tap for over 5 minutes to get any cold water to run out - presumably the hotel does not run on a water meter! A total waste of water.
Noise in the room thoughout the night - background hum
Excellent facilities and first class breakfast
Very spacious room, clean, comfortable and well decorated. Lovely grounds with patio overlooking a tidy, well presented garden. Excellent dinning facilities within the elegant dinning room which was luxurious without being pretentious. Friendly, polite staff were helpful without smuthering and made us feel special. Good location, pub and health suite on site with wide range of health, fitness and beauty treatments available.
I asked for 4 pillows and got 4 pillows The bed was too high I had to use a chair to get onto the bed.
A good, friendly, seemingly well run hotel in a good location for sightseeing in the north norfolk area. The farmers Arms pub closing at 11.00 on weekend nights.Although the residents bar was open it lacked choice and atmosphere.
Location,Cleanliness,Service,Great value for money Evening meal in Pub was slow service and dissapointing
Lovely room spacious clean and comfortable. probably the best sports centre I've visited as part of a hotel deal especially the pool and again all very clean and well run. The pub on site had a good atmosphere and live singer when we were there. the location was ideal for visiting the town centre and also surrounding countryside. We weren't able to use wifi in our room but there was a computer in foyer which was easy to log onto, fast and free.
We went for our honeymoon, the staff was excellent so friendly best bed we ever sleep in, extreme clean, fleet pampered and homely lovely to walk into the garden and the view was nice. The Spa was excellent again felt pampered and extreme clean and fantastic shower and changing facilities. We will come again. The best friendly staff at a hotel. I have to say not once did anything anoy us not one little thing.
We had to change rooms due to the extremely unpleasant odour of cigarette smoke. We understand the hotel is now non-smoking, however rooms previously designated require attention to eliminate the odour.
The opportunity to use the Spa is a big plus for me There was nothing that could have been improved.
Very spacious room with king size bed, comfortable armchairs, quality furnishing and own patio area overlooking well kept gardens.
The Staff and food are wonderful. Quite location.
Very friendly welcome: clean and tidy room and hotel: good location within walking distance of town centre. Hotel difficult to find in the dark! Parking was not very convenient (on side of hotel driveway, with a possibility of blocking neighbours' premises): Double bed in what was really a single bed-sized room, so room was congested: use of sheets and blankets rather than a duvet (my personal preference). However, none of these was of major significance.
Good bar food and selection of ales
Very nice & pleasant stay. My husband had to have a separate room due to the "family" room being double booked but we were given the same rate as quoted and it was the location we needed so went ahead. The hotel did apologise for the inconvenience and we still had a pleasant stay.
There was a homely atmosphere and the staff genuinely seemed to care Not enough parking space
Good location for city centre and a good cooked breakfast.
Clean, large room. Recently redecorated The corridors were dingy
The room was beautiful. Everything was very clean and tidied everyday. The staff were very friendly. The room refidgerator did not work.
The staff ( and one or two in particular) went out of their way and above and beyond good service for us! re: the next question about guest reviews-I would have to check back on the website to see what was said. if anything they might not have reflected just how great the staff is. (sorry this is not the right place to put this)
Friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff.
Spacious bedroom. A little shabby-especially outside.
Beautiful building, many period features. The breakfast was very greasy, sausages were cheap, could not offer cream with the coffee. Very little choice. No one about on arrival, organisations seems to be lacking. Lovely couple but a bit too laid back. Would have preferred a room in the main building where family were accommodated. The place lacked atmosphere, I appreciate it is difficult in such a large place but it is very dark and not very inviting.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was freshly cooked and excellent. It was very good value for money and I would definitely stay there again
The Grange Hotel is ideally suited for whatever you want for a short break/holiday. It is close enough to Kings Lynn to be in reach of all the amenities but far enough away for it to be peaeful. It is also not far from the countryside of Norfolk and also the beautiful wide beaches. All in all a very well placed Hotel. Certainly would stay again.
The friendliness and helpfulness of staff, beautiful surroundings and fabulous food
The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The rooms were comfortable, clean and regularly serviced. The location was good and very handy for exploring the Brecklands, Sandringham and the Norfolk coast. The restaurant food although well put together and presented was over seasoned. Delicate shellfish such as scallops were so salty that they were not recognisable for what they were and fish generally was spoiled. Even the fiet steak one evening was served with a more than generous sprinkling of rock salt in addition to cooking seasoning. We considered having no tea making facilities in the room a handicap.
