All of the above! The hotel is also surrounded by excellent restaurants. We ate at the Italian restaurant across the street. It is a BYOB. Very, Very Good! No coolers allowed. The hotel is approx. 5 miles from Sandy Hook State Park. If you are planning on staying a few days and going to the beach, most people have a cooler
We pretty much liked everything about this B & B. The room that we stayed in, although on the third floor, was very spacious with a parlor room and view of the ocean and a very comfortable queen bedroom. Breakfast was exceptional. The owners were cordial I would imagine that parking on the street could be a problem when things are busy during the summertime, but we were there in December, so we found street parking to be a non-issue. The stay at Lillagaard was way better than a two star rating.
I thought more or less it would be creepy because of the old Victorian theme but they managed to do it with the perfect touch Not at all staff was friendly
the breakfast in tearoom was very nice and good. the staff was very accomadating and pleasant smiling. location was nice a bit of a walk for shopping coffee and meals close to beach. parking was tough- park and let your car parked or you lose. really small rooms and the sink is not in bathroom which is terribly small. the pictures do not match reality
The manager Moe is one of the nicest humans we have ever met! He made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. He was very knowledgable and informative on New York history as well as what we should around the city. The bed and breakfast was cozy, clean and good but what truly exceeded our expectations was the hospitality we received from Moe! I'll definitely be staying here when I'm back in NYC and highly recommend it.
