Pros: They've done an excellent job of updating this heritage hotel while keeping its character. The room price was extremely competitive. It was fantastic not to have to stay in one of the 'chain' hotels but still have all the amenities and service we needed.

I definitely would stay at this hotel again. The reservation person was friendly and when the credit card did not go through initially, they e-mailed me and I resubmitted the Credit card info again and everything went through easily. We were able to joke and banter with the staff easily and had a very good time.
Pros: It was a very nice room and was easy to find from the airport. The staff were all friendly and cooperative and informative. It was easy to drive from the hotel to other locations in Tasmania. Very good stay.

Pros: Can't go wrong with the location. Right near the Salamanca Market, the MONA ferry, restaurants, bars, even the MOFO Festival (which I wasn't in town to attend)...
Cons: The room I stayed in (Room 1) was DIRECTLY over the bar and overlooked the sidewalk where bar patrons hung out all night. I am NOT a light sleeper, but this was a tough couple of nights even for me. The bar sing-a-longs were frequent and boisterous and the live music was quite loud. The room itself was barely a step up from a hostel--not that I've ever stayed in one, but everything (furniture, bed coverings, carpets, etc.) was shabby and seemingly second-hand. I didn't do much researcher for alternatives in Hobart because the Customs House seemed so

Cons: We found the studio apartment room to be drab, underwhelming and uninspiring. Definitely not worth the cost. Rooms and fixtures are dated. It was not a pleasant room to spend time in. Bed was fairly hard, linens were nothing special. Shower was broom closet size and difficult to turn around in.
