Pros: Super clean rooms, perfect location for early morning safari trip (just a few minutes from park gate). We got a great dinner cooked by the guest house lady and our children spent a nice evening drawing pictures together with the local kids. We really enjoyed our time there and can only recommend this place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely family and nice place..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful time here, we took the morning safari with the owners and we were treated to so many close encounters with the elephants and other animals, they have their own jeep so it was supper easy to do this with them. We didn't take a park guide and one isn't needed, it's not hard to spot elephants lol, maybe if your into birds then one would be helpful. The room was very clean and decorated to a high standard, the veranda was a great place to chill. You are in the middle of the countryside so make sure you visit the bank before arriving as no atm close to property. When we left we caught a bus to Galle, a little way from the property and the owners kindly took us to the bus stop and got us on board the right bus. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Cons: Could of had hotter water in the shower, it was warm not hot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hot water showers Rooms Beds
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and the bathroom are very spacious. The bed is comfortable and the shower water warm. The resort is placed directly in fornt of the national park (from the balcony we saw the first elephants) and the main road, so it is easy to reach, but still calm and quite. The host and his wife are absolutely warmhearted persons and they make your stay very comfortable. The host took us to a unforgetable safari and provided lot of information about the wildlife. The meals (breakfast and dinner) were extremely delicious. In addition, they helped us with our further trip and because we had to check out quite early, they prepared big lunch boxes for us. We had an amazing stay and therefore we highly recommend this place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed one night. Very warm welcome from all at peacock villa resort. Room was clean and comfortable. Lovely big comfy bed and soft pillows. Shower was warm and powerful. The room is well sealed. So if you keep your front door closed and bathroom door closed then not many insects get into the bedroom. There is a mosquito net but we didn’t use it and didn’t get any mosquito bites throughout the night. The hotel is along the road that the national park is on, there isn’t much along the road. 500 rupees to Ude Walawe in a tuk tuk. We booked the safari through peacock and had an incredible experience. When we arrived back at Peacock post safari, our breakfast was waiting on us. It was varied, huge and delicious. When we left, they helped us flag down the bus to udawalawe bus station. Such great value! Great find and would definitely recommend staying here.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole family was super friendly, dinner and breakfast were great and they even took us to the bus stop at six in the morning with our breakfast boxes more than fully packed. We went on a safari with our host which was definitely a good decision - easy, fast organisation, good price, lots of animals. there was even an elephant right across the street while we were reading on the terrace!
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners couldn't be more helpful. They made us delicious pack lunch breakfasts as we had an early start and the place was IMMACULATE. It's so so close to udawalawe park and the perfect little destination to stay to get an early morning safari. I very highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Pros: Perfect location if you want to see Safari. Really nice personel, beautiful and clean room in safari style. We spent there one night and it was the best decision to stay and visit Safari. We rented Safari in this hostel. The driver came at early morning and go with us to Udawalawa Safari. We spent 4hours in the park. Price was attractive. Really good stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful wonderful stay here at owls nest! I am SO happy I came across this little gem of a place. We arrived late after 7pm and we were still given such a warm welcome. This modern Sri Lankan family all have excellent English. We played games with their beautiful 2 year old girl. The interior of the guest house was modern and stylish. The shower was excellent. An incredible dinner was made for us even though it was late at night. We sat and chatted to the family for sometime and then out of nowhere a wild elephant appeared in the back garden . The home is located just on the edge of the National Park. It was such a surreal experience. He stayed watching us for about an hour. The family says he comes most days for a little visit and a banana. The family organised a safari for us for the next day at a reasonable price. Our pick up was at 5:30 am for the safari and at 5:15am the owner of the guesthouse knocked on our door with tea for us . They also organised a private taxi for us after the safari to tangalla. While we waited on our Taxi to arrive at the guest house the same elephant visited one last time in the back garden to say bye to us. It was just the absolute best 24 hours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The garden area is very picturesque and a lovely place to sit and eat. We had dinner and breakfast here and both meals were delicious. It was authentic Sri Lankan food and locally sourced. In the evening we walked about five minutes down the road to the Elephant Transit centre where they have feedings of orphaned elephants for you to see. We also arranged a safari of Udawalawe with Owl's nest and had our own jeep take us to the national park. We were one of the first one's in the park and the driver gave us a great tour where we saw every animal (except leopards) going! Everything was reasonably priced and it was one of our favourite stops in Sri Lanka! Would certainly come again.
6.7 Good
Pros: Room clean Shower was good Fan but no air con Basic facilities Nice garden Tasty traditional home cooked food at price Location close to elephant orphanage Good safari prices if you go as group 4-6ppl
Cons: No wifi! Food was good but you don’t know prices until you get the bill at the end so make sure to ask prior to accepting meals Elephants no longer roaming the back garden as pictures suggest. Overall nice place to stay as long as you have all plans arranged before arriving. Having no wifi makes it very difficult to make plans for onward travels and communication with travel companions staying in other places.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family who run Sandlewood Cottage were so friendly and helpful. We had dinner there and it was one of the most memorable meals of our holiday. The spice garden within the grounds was delightful. Sureka and her husband arranged transport for us to visit the Elephant Transit Home and also arranged a Jeep and driver/guide for our family on the Udawalawe Safari ... it was a very fair and competitive price. The driver was very friendly, experienced and knowledgeable. Sandon drove us to Mirrissa on our departure day - he also offered a very fair price and was a great and safe driver
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host was very attentive and organized for us safari, taxi and gave us lots of useful information. The garden was beautiful and perfect for a family, as was our large room with a fantastic bathroom

We had the best breakfast in Sri Lanka and also a really good dinner at a reasonable price. The owner was always available and very friendly. The accomodation was quiet (we felt like in the jungle), although it doesn't look like it on the map.

Pros: The young woman managing the guesthouse is so lovely! She responded really quickly to all our questions and arranged a very reasonably priced safari to Udawalawe. Her brother is an amazing and experienced driver who took us to parts of the park which are not often visited by other tourists and spotted animals from great distances. The dinner and breakfast were really delicious and plentiful.
Cons: The guesthouse is located next to a big road which gets busy quite early. But since we stayed for only one night, then it didn't really bother us. Actually it turned out to be an advantage because we caught a bus to Embilipitiya from across the road.

Pros: The guest house is run by the loveliest sri lankan family who were extremely friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and the food was great and in a perfect location for the safari tour which the family organised for me. I cant reccomend this any more for value of money
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay for a night before an early morning safari. The family arranged the safari for us at a reasonable price and we had an excellent experience. Priyanka made us the MOST delicious dinner in the evening we arrived. She also made us a gorgeous Sri Lankan breakfast for when we returned from our early morning safari. Her husband and son collected us from the bus on our arrival and dropped us off on the last day. The property was clean.
Cons: Nothing bad to say.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic dinner and breakfast, by far the best food we ate whilst in Sri Lanka! Very welcoming family who made our stay particularly pleasant by arranging to pick us up/drop us off from the bus station and our safari. Would love to go back!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This place is amazing! The hostess and her family were so nice. And she is an amazing cook, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and everything was local and soooo good - also cheap. They helped us arrange everything from safari to transport. The place is in the jungle and was a bit hard to find, but just call them and they will help you out.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay at Leesa's Villa. The room was very clean and the place in the jungle is magical. The whole family welcomed us with a welcome drink which was very nice. In the evening we got a perfect dinner cooked by themselves and very cheap. The fulfilled all out wishes and organised a Safari for a good price. We liked the accommodation a lot because of the nice garden, the nice talks we had with the family, the quite night and the very good food! Thanks for the awesome stay :-) we got free transfer service on top. And all of this was offered for very little money.

Pros: I don’t know how I m suppose to start! Everything was amazing. Welcome drink and massage! All staffs are incredibly friendly, helpful and smiling at every time. This places like heaven at the jungle. They organized to me safari and transport easily. And food !!! Amazing too. I’ve never tried delicious food in Sri Lanka like them. So many options you can try. Rooms are so clean. Towels, bed , bathroom etc. you can find everything in your room (hairdryer caffe tea water, some snack and drinks in your mini bar.) I used spa and pool. It was amazing ,relaxing. I can write about this hotel pages! :) I hope I will come again. Thank you for everything.
Cons: Nothing. Best hotel in Sri Lanka.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Kalu's Hideaway was amazing. The grounds are simply stunning and we spent so long walking around looking at the lily ponds and all the different fruits growing. There is clearly a lot of effort out into the upkeep of the place. The pool is gorgeous and I loved watching all the birds flying about from the pool. The room and bathroom couldn't be faulted and the all the food we had at the restaurant was 5* The service was fab especially Darshana the guest relations officer who was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. You won't regret staying here!
Cons: One thing to be aware of, is that if you book the package including safari, it's not really 'included' at all. We still had to pay our entry fee to the park, which we didn't realize and didn't have enough cash upon arriving but thankfully they accepted card. Then we had to pay a 'volunteer guide' who jumped in our safari and spoke very little English and wasn't really able to communicate with us about the animals, and then this guide said 'make sure you tip your driver' which we would have done anyway, but it's not great being told to impart with your cash and just more hemmorging money for something that was supposedly 'included'. However the safari itself was absolutely incredible and no to be missed. Just you may want to consider booking separately as I'm not sure it is cost effective.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We initially booked just one night but liked the place so much we extended our stay. We received a free upgrade of our room and stayed in the bungalow in the garden. Darshana made us feel very welcome and did everything to make our stay just perfect. We did the safari in the morning with our two young kids and absolutely loved it, the driver and guide were great and we saw so many elephants up close that we could almost touch them. The beautiful infinity pool was the perfect way to cool down afterwards. The food in the restaurant is amazing and do follow the chefs recommendations. Kalu’s was definitely the highlight of our one month trip in Sri Lanka and I can’t recommend it enough. Darshana and his team are amazing and the kids loved all the staff. We will be back!
Cons: Nothing

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location, the style and the staff
Cons: This is a lovely place. Sadly, being slightly out of season there was building works whilst we were there. Once the works are finished the place will merit much higher scores
9.2 Excellent
Pros: People and services were perfect and room was very comfortable. Nice pool area. Focused for relax and safari tours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a brilliant time at Eliyanth. The staff couldn’t be more helpful, they were simply wonderful. The safari was excellent and very reasonably priced, and the transport service to and from the hotel was also very convenient. I would definitely come back!
Cons: Nothing, it was all excellent.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I had a lovely time at Eliyanth and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us when we changed our plans. Note that they have no alcohol here as many places in SL but it was a fun and short drive to the Wine Store in the local town to make a purchase- along with a delicious pineapple and passion fruit juice :) We went on a really lovely safari- a whole day so up early at 0540 which was fine. I opted for just fruit for breakfast stop as I don’t eat bread, and the cheese sandwiches didn’t look too appetising! Lunch (egg fried rice) made on a gas stove was delicious though We saw many elephant and saw the prints of leopard, many beautiful bee eaters, storks and peacocks and our driver was very nice. It’s very good value for a day out! Back to Eliyanth the beds were comfy and the showers great - really had a lovely time :)
Cons: Nothing really to dislike- they were doing building jobs when we were there- as it’s low season- but they were quiet and no bother at all- and once it’s finished it will be a brilliant find!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is stunning. A real touch of class. The staff are very professional and chatty. The room was perfect. Excellent bathroom, lots if space for bags and they though of everything to make the stay special. Would highly recommend going here
Cons: It was all very good and we can't find any fault.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff very attentive. Very clean rooms, the photos don’t do the place justice !!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious accommodation close to the national park. Host catered excellently to our vegan diet, organised the safari for us (which was an amazing experience) and organised a driver to take us to our next destination, Ella.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room itself was very spacious and comfortable, and the setting beside the river makes it a very peaceful place to stay in. Since there's nothing much to do in Udawalawe at night, it's important to have a hotel that delivers superb hospitality, and the people at the hotel have certainly delivered. It was a great experience for me and my family, and we will definitely come again if we ever pass through the area.
Cons: The family room requires you to climb a ladder to get to two single mattresses in the loft. A bit difficult if you have a small children like I did, but it's ok of you have older children.

The family is super friendly and they cook excellent food. Within walking distance from elephant orphanage. Value for the money and we definitely recommend this place! They can also arrange the safari to the national park for a reasonable price.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This wonderful family really cared about us during our stay and helped us a lot! The food was awesome, the rooms freshly renovated and the safari a great adventure with a really experienced driver/guide. We highly recommend everyone to enjoy this nice homestay in Uda Walawe!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: nice place with nice rooms, which actually look like from a western hotel. (so not the typical sri lankan homestay design) meals are absolutely decent location is a bit off the road, but anyway unawatuna is not a real village but just a tourist place at the park, so I think location doesnt really matter. one thing which was a bit of a minus: the rooms are really quite cheap, thats also true for many other places in unawatuna. I realized why: basically I think its in their calculation that they sell you the safari tour. so when I didnt buy it from them, as I would have been the only person in a jeep, they were not really happy about that. (its a general sri lankian problem for all the parks, no one is interested in tourists building groups to share costs. moneywise I wouldnt care actually, it just doesnt make sense to have 100 jeeps in the safari park when 40 would be sufficient) but even after this, the host couple was still nice enough.
Cons: one thing which was a bit of a minus: the rooms are really quite cheap, thats also true for many other places in unawatuna. 7.9 Good
Pros: The room was very nice and had its own terrace/balcony (very hot during the day but nice to sit out in the evening). Warm water for the shower, fan and mosquito net in the bedroom. You need that fan! The owners were a sweet, friendly young family and they were very helpful in arranging a safari for us which we ended up sharing with another couple who were staying at the property. A cold welcome drink was very nice upon our arrival
Cons: The bathroom was a bit dark and damp, but fine otherwise. The WiFi seemed to come and go - we reset the router a couple of times which helped. Otherwise, all good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - lovely hosts - everything is new - very clean - delicious food - amazing sorrounding (garden with palm trees) - very quiet
Cons: The guest house is far away from the "city centre", you need to take a Tuktuk to see something else. Its no accommodation for a longer stay, nur a perfect starting point for a one day safari
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Slightly off the beaten path but a very cozy place with friendly owners. They are keen on helping with your visit at their house and your trek around the national park. The room was tidy and the facilities were all in order.
Cons: We found the food a bit pricey for what it was.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The family here is amazing - soooo kind, even organised a cake for my boyfriends birthday. Lovely dinner and breakfast, adorable child and quick to organise our safari and tuk Tuks. Would highly recommend !!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Saman and Maderie run this beautiful place a two minute drive away from town. We read a lot of positive reviews on booking.com, thats why we decided to stay there. By far, our expectations were exceeded. Such a welcoming, open and friendly character. The house was clean, newly build (I think last year) and luxurious. The food was great (classic Sri Lankan cuisine) and sufficient. The service provided by these two felt like an old friend that hadn't seen us for a long time and just wanted our stay worthwhile. Apart from daily foods and beverages on demand, they showed us the hot springs a few villages down the road, went shopping local foods with us and answered every question we had. The garden is beyond parallel. Mangoes, Papayas, Coconuts Avocados, different kinds of berries, starfruit and many herbs and fruits I have tried there for the first time! If you want great service, food and overall accommodation look no further! And if you want to learn something about Sri Lankan culture and lifestyle, you have come to the right place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Saman was agreat host, genuinely keen that I had a good experience. He even drove me around and helped me with my arrangements. The house is vila style in a quiet garden. My room was spacious, very clean and everything worked. The overall atmosphere was very relaxing.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: This was a really fantastic two night trip. I took my husband and my two little kids and it was so exciting and different. An adventure in nature with all the comfort of an en suite toilet and wonderful staff. Sitting in the lamp light watching fireflies float past was perfect. And seeing my kids so excited by nature was a joy. We also booked a safari through them and it was really good.
Cons: It is camping and there are spiders. But the brave staff will come and get out anything you spot.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Special experience sleeping in a middle of a sugar cane field. Staff was very friendly and shared local knowledge. The tent was better than expected with a shower and a fan linked to a generator. The bonfire dinner is a must. They organise safari camping to make your stay easy and smooth.
Cons: Price of $65 the night (not including dinner) is expensive. Yes it’s special but maybe not worth that price. Be careful if you take the safari camping, the cost does not include entrance to the park (+8000 ta each)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The quiet location and safari tent set up was awesome. It is a unique and memorable experience. It was easy to arrange a safari, lunch, dinner and a driver when we left. But the staff are the absolute highlight. In addition to being super attentive during our stay, I accidentally left my sunglasses in the car when we travelled to our next destination and the boys followed up for me and spent a lot of time arranging to get them back to me. Absolute champions, thank you!
Cons: There is no hot water, but it is to be expected when camping.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place in the wilderness on the river. Incredibly friendly staff.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: What an experience we had here! A very positive one and one we’ll remember. We got dropped off at the side of the road by our driver and got picked up by the Makulu team in a safari jeep. We then got taken to the campsite which is through the sugar cane fields, which is an experience in itself! We had such a lovely warm welcome and were very impressed by where we were staying (it’s more like glamping than camping). You really are experiencing nature without disturbing it too much, but be warned you will see some creepy crawlies but it’s all part of the experience and the staff are great and will tell you about all the different things you see. The food, wow! This was amazing. Each meal was a massive spread of Sri Lankan dishes and they are all amazing. You get a lot of food but we read before that it doesn’t go to waste so don’t worry if you don’t finish it all. They put on a special dinner for us lit by flares and fire and it was pretty special, something I won’t forget. Everything was really well organised and we got taken to the elephant transit home and did the 6am safari which was brilliant. The service is amazing, I felt like a queen. Book Makulu Safari Camping for a night, you won’t be disappointed and now I’ve got an experience I won’t forget.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our best night in Sri Lanka. The guys that run the site do an exceptional job and make it really good fun and easy to enjoy. It included a guided talk around the area, tea coffee with biscuits on arrival, fire at dinner time and the food is great. Camping with all mod-cons. We saw lots of habitats including water buffalo swimming in the stream in front of the campsite and kingfishers.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What is there not to like! The staff was amazing and did everything for us! The breakfast and dinerspot was wonderfull in the middle of the woods with a lovely bonfire and the food was delicious!
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is amazing, you’ve got the river in front of your tent. There are only 4 tents so it’s a tinny hotel with very little guests, which makes it very special.
Cons: Accommodation and dinner was overpriced compared to Sri Lankan prices.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What an experience ! We would do it again and again. It’s in the middle of nowhere and it’s very quiet. Near a little lake, you’ll see and hear many different animals. The tent is large, with a balcony, and inside : one large and one little bed, a toilet, a sink and a shower with hot water. The owners were very nice and cared about us. We went to a walk in the middle of the night in the sugar cane with one of them, who explained us a lot of things about Sri Lanka life. The food was amazing. They organised a beautiful dinner, with fire and everything. We were in paradise ! Thank you again and again ! We will miss you !
Cons: Nothing ! Just don’t be afraid of the insects !

Pros: Great dinner and breakfast. Very close to the national park and Gayan organised a safari for me at quite late notice with a good English-speaking guide and a decent price! I only stayed for 1 night but it was the perfect safari pit stop. He also drove me on to Weligama after my stay.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was a comfortable short stay, quiet area. The host was nice to arrange a pick up for us at the airport and gave us tips/directions on getting around cheaply.
Cons: It was a little out of the way from the airport. Arriving close to midnight made the 10 minute drive felt much longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were large and very clean. It was set just next to Udawalawe National Park. As we drove to property we could see the elephants at the edge of the park. A welcome surprise. The park entrance is literally 5 minutes down the road. We were greeted by the owner/host, from the moment we arrived to the second we left we were treated amazingly. We had dinner and breakfast made by his mother. The food was some of the best we had in our few weeks in Sri Lanka. We got to meet his daughter, shy at first, but a lovely little girl with a lovely smile. He arranged a trip to the National Park with an English speaking guide. He was brilliant. He knew his stuff and made us feel at ease. If you plan on venturing to that part of the country make a point of staying here!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed the one night and it was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. The room smelt amazingly fresh when we arrived and the bathroom was clean with a hot shower, not that we needed it with the temperature. As soon as I booked the room we had a friendly message asking if we would like to go on safari, which we did. It was a good price and 100% worth every penny. We saw Pelicans, Painted stalks, Elephants (loads of elephants), Fresh Water Crocodiles, Peacocks, Water buffalo, Hawk Eagle ,Golden tortoise, Mongoose, Marquette monkeys, monitor lizards and a White Breasted King Fisher. The driver was so knowledgeable and you could tell he cared about the animals and there environment. We then came back to house with breakfast waiting. We then asked about how to get to Marissa and they told us that there was an express bus that stopped right outside the bungalow and they waited and made sure we got on it. The people were truly kind and helpful. He even picked us up from the bus stop in his shiny jeep when we arrived from Ella.

Cons: Very small and hard bed and pillows. Not the best nor cleanest room and bathroom we had
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is good cause the main bus routes pass in front of fhe place. The food was amazing and the quantity generous!! And the owners... The whole family was amazing!!!
Cons: Nothing to declare.

Pros: The treehouses are amazing! They are clean, spacious and so unique. The staff were just as lovely, we had a delicious meal under the hut, all beautifully presented and it has been one of our favourite meals on our trip. Thank Don and the rest of the guys who made us so comfortable.
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly staff and a very original setting
Cons: Sleeping in a treehouse means that you don’t always have hot water or a very clean place. That’s part of the deal. Plastic straws and hot (cold) tubs are not really playing along with the whole eco-friendly vibe: something to improve maybe?
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Heaven for nature lovers. Surrounded by monkeys, squirrels and peacocks it feels like you are kilometres away from any city. Food was good, the people were friendly, the bed was comfortable. Excellent value for money.
Cons: Neat freaks will definitely not like this place. If you hate camping and the accompanying bugs and animals, skip this place. No WiFi in the room, but WiFi is available in the ‘yard’
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a great experience. The hike (complimentary) was wonderful and interesting- don’t need to be with 100s in a line in jeeps to see far-away elephants. We saw them LIVE in the real wilderness... The manager was very nice, helpful and gracious - thanks!
Cons: Of course of lack of guests it looks a little unkempt. But who cares in the middle of the jungle...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff is amazing. We had a great hiking and walking nearby. I added some photos.
Cons: Since it is a tree house there were frogs and insects. Our tree was shaking and there was huge noise because of the wind. It was very difficult to sleep. However this was the part of the experience
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The tree house is amazing, with the real tree crossing over the bed!! Also the jacuzzi is a highlight (with a friendly minifrog visiting us included

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the most amazing time at La Pentera! We had the deluxe tree house with jaccuzi. The trip with the owner Don to the waterfall and swiming in the river were the best! Communication with the Don went very well, he responds quickely and speaks English very well
Cons: Nothing
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was great. It is such a lovely property with lush greenery. Thushara who was one of the 02 staff at the property at the time we stayed there; he went out of his way to make our stay good as the Manager was away. Breakfast and Dinner were very delicious. The bed was comfortable and the linen was very clean. All-round hospitality was excellent. We really loved the place and hope to go back and hope that things will be fixed and better-taken care of next time.
Cons: Some attention on maintenance and bit care on cleanliness would be good in order to keep the unique concept of this place, especially the treehouse with the Jacuzzi. The shower door was slightly broken and could do with some fixing and cleaning the faucets etc. The tea sachets seemed a bit off with moist,. There was a leak from the roof in the room when the rain set in but it was in a corner. The balcony area was very nice but sadly gets wet when it rains. a small roof or covering would be so much nicer. A few improvements would really make a huge difference.

Pros: Staff were great and super friendly. We organised the safari through them for 6900 each for 5 hours which was amazing. They educated us during it which was such an added bonus. At night we got dinner for 600 rupees and breakfast to take on the safari for 500 rupees. Well worth it!! Room was clean with a fan. Wifi wasnt strong as we were across the road but not a problem.
Cons: Location wasn't near anything and a 3km walk from the bus stop.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so so nice. The accommodation is very affordable and they have their own safari that was really great, the guide tried so hard to have us see as much as possible. The room itself was okay, very basic, with quite a few ants in the bathroom. Overall a good, very affordable, stay. Recommended.

Pros: The host Hashan was absolutely fantastic and a really.lovelt guy. His safari tour was excellent. He picked us up from the town centre when we first arrived and gave us a free lift to the hostel.

Pros: We enjoyed our stay at Safari Chill hotel. Hassan was a very nice and helpfull host who gave us a cool safari tour in Udawalawe! He knew a lot about the animals and did his best to find as much elephants as he could. The hotel was fine, good value for your money and the garden had nice features (a cool swing).
Cons: De beds were a little small for tall people
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant safari from here, and a really relaxing place to relax afterwards and let the experience settle in. Hashan is as good a guide as everyone says he is and deserves his excellent reputation.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The accomodation is very basic, however the owner of the place is a very nice, smart and smiling guy, who is always ready to help you with everything! :-) He arranged amazing food for us and also safari tour for a very reasonable price. We reccomend this resort to everybody who want to visit Udalawale park as well as to enjoy contact with local people and entrepreneurs.
