Not much (see next answer) Room too hot and air con not on. One member of staff extrememly rude.
Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where do I start. This hotel is very dissapointing, it requires a complete renovation throughout. It is very expensive & overpriced for the facilities it offers. The bedrooms are very small and dark. The hotel staff are sullen and not very helpful! As I am a disabled client and use a wheelchair, I realise that I am ina minority, but as the hotel advertises disabled access, do not use this hotel!!
it was on the beach and near the city center it was a little bit cold in the room but i think it's perfect during the summer hollyday
Exellent kitchen There were non mentioned building activities going on.
Good position for beach and shops. Comfortable rooms with a good seaview but not loads of space. Friendly staff Needed to ask for extra pillows.Surprised to find no wine list in the main restaurant.
Very nice staff, excellent breakfast, very good position (sea and nightlife) The room was good but some details could make it better: the tv set (good one) had all cables visible and the wall behind it had the signs of the previous wall-mount.
The stay was ok. Friendly and good staff, not too expensive, beach close to hotel with complimentary sun beds for hotel guests. Found one good restaurant nearby; ... Et Nobilite, The hotel food was not very good (tried it only once, the hotel staff had a hard time even making scrambled eggs). The kids had a good time, Italians are great with children.
This was just an overnight stay after getting off a ferry from Croatia. Very clean and convenient. Good to have fast wireless internet access in the reception area - though it didn't work on all our gadgets. The night porter did not speak any language other than Italian - but was very friendly and helpful and we somehow understood each other.
very near the sea. Balcony with seaview showerhead was great but cabine should have been a touch bigger
clean rooms, friendly & helpful staff
Location to the seafront was excellent. Also good location in relation to Stadio Adriatico for football trip. Difficult to get to from airport. Taxi expensive. Journey from airport to hotel involves two bus journeys.
sea view TV set was out of order
I found the staff to be extremely polite and helpful. The only thing that I found disappointing was that the hot water was never more than luke warm.
The staff was fabulous. The service was good and rooms were nice. Of course the beach right there across the street was the best part.
a fantastic hotel and thev staff were lovely. This is right on the beach with a fantastic set up. Room was great.
Nice location directly on the beach - chairs on the beach included in the price Breakfast was very bad, service not really motivated and fruits at breakfast sitting there forever. WIFI was not working the entire week and nobody cared about fixing it...and might be still not working!
The location with direct access to the beach including free parking is simply excellent and comfortable The poor decoration and lack of pictures on the walls
Breakfast and parking
Good location near the sea, the staff was friendly and service minded. The restaurant was good for hotel standard. Would recommend the fish rest near by. It was exelent. To little to do near by the hotel in october… not much open.
I most enjoyed the very central location of the hotel. The breakfast served by the hotel was especially good. The elevator had broken down and was under repair. This meant climbing stairs with luggage in tow.
Better qualety of food and juice
The way the staff addressed any of my questions and help me.
Really good breakfast (both italian and international), great location (not far from a free beach and from several good shops), welcome biscuits and cleanliness of the room The park was full!!! (Not surprising as there are about 7 parks available for the whole hotel) even if it was included in the price. One receptionist was completely unhelpful and told me: "Sorry but you chose the bad day". Never heard that before, neither in a two stars hotel! More likely the hotel was bad! Room very small for a four stars hotel
Firstly, we received a really good deal on our room, approximately half price the normal rate. Secondly, it is only a 15min drive from Pescara airport and less than a 2 min walk to the heart of shopping and less than 5 min to the beach. It was very clean and the Cafe Plaza was also very nice and tasteful with an air conditioned outside extension. Although we arrived just after 2pm check-in time, our room was not ready. We had a drink in the Cafe, however I think it would have been nice to offer the drinks as complimentary. We also did not get our wake-up call at 4.15am, and the lift was not working when we were trying to leave thus causing a rush to the airport. It was not clearly indicated (in english at least) if there were stairs to take down which we were willing to do even though we were on the 5th floor, so we had to go back to the room to phone reception. They then told us there was a technical fault and we had to use the service elevator.
The accomodation, and staff were exelent
the staff we polite and helpful 24 hours you need Wi FI for users who cannot use ethernet
Very private hotel, spotlessly clean, staff there if you needed them day or night.Close to airport, railway station, bus station & beach. Would have liked the main restaurant to be open.
The room was beautiful: large, well designed, and with a great view over the square. The hotel was well-signed and easy to find. Breakfast was also very good.
The hotel was comfortable and in a good location. Lack of understanding of English language and lack of teamaking facility, no english tea or milk provided.
Nice location and beautiful see view from the room; kind staff and good breakfast the wireless signal was poor in the room and no connection was possible in the room
Location by the Beach and nice Breakfast Staff very unobliging as to extending our stay for the same price. One said yes but ask the Manager and the older man said no so we left. Hotel wasnt even full at the time. Also not a 4 star hotel as advertised.
The people were most friendly and accomodating.
Family hotel very convenient to beach, shopping areas, bus and train station. The German lady in the hotel Patricia had very good english(which was very poor in all places we went to in Pescara). She gave us tremendous help in relation to eating out ,markets, bus routes etc.
Sun and bath in the sea, but we vere out of the season? The weather good! Nice food and Wine.Bycyckeles Roma tour with bus. Nice! Trafick near.
We only stayed there as a stopover but location to the beach and restaurants was great.
We loved the location and the balcony overlooking the beach
Friendly staff. ease of parking. access to beach. great balcony with great view. coffee machine. prefer fresh coffee in the morning.
clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, excellent choice for breakfast.
The personnel of the hotel was extremely nice and polite, willing to meet any need, any inquiry of the guest. I was very pleased with the way they treat all the guest. The breakfasts are rich with food for all types of preferences. The rooms looking to the beach side are quite noisy (the auto-road and the bars with discoteques make a lot noise), but the Management of the Hotel gave me another room as soon as I asked about it. The hotel is actually something between 3 and 4 stars level, but the price was more than fair taking into account the location and that the beach chaiselong with umbrella are included to the price so I was satisfied and I would recommend it to my friends.
The staff were very helpful, the location was great, central and close to the beach. The hotel has a nice, clean design. The bed was quite hard and we could hear everything from the hall/ room next to us. The breakfast could be more varied (although this was a typical breakfast in Italian hotels).
The staff were extrememly helpful. The breakfast was also very good. The fact that this hotel provided car parking at no cst was very attractive also, as was the provision of internet services. The hotel was located in a fantastic position close to the riviera and right in the centre in the vicinity of the boutique shops.
Loved the location. Staff could not be more helpful or knowledgeable with their recommendations. Only downside is the price of the hotel as similar locations can be found for half the price and are not half the quality.
The staff was so wonderful, even going as far as to assist us in making phone calls to long lost relatives and acting as translators when we found our relatives. The location is also wonderful and it was so nice to have a pc with internet it our room. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend it to fellow travelers, whether for business or holiday. We loved everything about this hotel!!
Location was excellent. Hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Of our 17 day trip through Europe, they were the best we came across. Good breakfast. Room was a little small, but the balcony made up for this.
The location, the style of the hotel and excellent staff service. All aspects of the hotel was perfect for us. The staff were friendly and the continental breakfast had plenty to choose from with fresh produce. None
The staff were very friendly and gave great recommendations of where to eat while we were staying in the area. Balcony quite small and shower a bit quirky, but nothing really bad to say.
Friendliness of staff, design of hotel
Very helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable and modern rooms. I will definately recommend this hotel.
Centrally located in Pescara with parking - a big plus.
everything - the proximity to the beach, the simple beauty of the room. the hotel itself is lovely and the staff extremely helpful. NA
The staff (one owner) is very nice and helpful. He went out of his way to accommodate us. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. The hotel itself is a piece of history. The restaurant on the -1 level is outstanding! It is not part of the hotel, but is connected and one of the best in Italy. Slow Food, delicious, affordable, and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Wifi did not reach the 2nd floor room. The breakfast in hotel was all packaged & processed foods (they need fresh fruit and fresh bread). The coffee was terrible. Small issue if you are not a breakfast person. Note: my parents liked the breakfast. However, the staff and hotel were amazing and we would stay there again.
Wonderful historic building beautifully maintained with very helpful owners. Don't be alarmed by the proximity of train tracks and street as the double glazed windows really cut the sound.
Well appointed rooms, good location near the beach, clear signage to the hotel from the Autostrada. None
Noisy next to the train rail and busy road. Could not see the Adriatic.
The owners had clearly spent alot of time and effort to make the hotel look appealing and welcoming which was greatly appreciated. The location was very good though when we arrived we did npt realise that we were staying in a separate place to Pescara. In any event, we had a wonderful time and the owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Check out time was a little early. A spare/separate room where guests can take a shower and get changed would be a good idea - even at extra cost.
Very good clean room with drinks facilities.Friendly helpful staff.Impressive breakfast. Noise. We only stayed one night not five as booked. Trains in particular made it very noisy despite claims of soundproofing - extra layer needed at least to be effective.
The staff was extremely friendly & helpful.
the building itself is beautiful, great location little too close to the noisy train tracks
The Staff were very helpful; the facilities very good, hotel in lovely setting, facilities are very contemporary and nice ambiance. Overall we loved our time there which was helped by the really friendly staff No menu in the restaurant, had to rely on head waiters recommendations which seemed to be the more expensive options, it appeared, and limited in choice, hence only had two meals there, but lovely setting. Holiday was out of season and the pool was not kept clean, which was a facility we were not able to use, though advertised as being available.
My wife took a terrible fall in this hotel because she was leaning on the back wall of the elevator and the elevator door opened from the opposite side. There was no sihn indicating elevator door opened from the rear once you left the lobby
I had the impression from the site that the hotel overlooked the beach, that isn't the case.
Very modern, nice and clean, excellent staff, great location for beach and views. As it was 1st weekend in October the beach was deserted we were the only ones to sunbathe and swim in the sea. Nice and quiet. Would go back but in season only. We went 1st of weekend of October it was still very warm 24 -27c, however the pool on the roof top was already shut, the sunbathing chairs were broken, the spa-sauna was shut for the season. Which was disappointing, plus everything else in the area was shut for the autumn, so to eat we had to travel by taxi to Pescara as nothing in the area was open. However still lvoely hotel
Nice location not far from the sea side. Opportunity to have a nice walk close to the beach. Breakfast can be improved (no scrambled eggs and very limited choices of cheese, ham). The wellness center was under maintenance with a very strange message. It read "please stay tuned, information on re-opening the wellness center will come soon", which for somebody who does not plan to go there soon again sounds strange and somehow useless. No price reduction because of this service not available. Internet connection free of charge but extremely slow. No bathtuub in the bathroom and shower coming only from the top. In general I had the perception that "saving" money was one of the drivers in running this hotel
very nice hotel decor and rooms, good location loud music played till 12.00 meant we couldnt sleep. when asking the staff what they would do about about they said nothing. were moved off our sun lounger on the beach as told it was reserved for the hotel director!!
Clean, comfortable room, with very helpful staff. I was expecting beach front, or at least ocean view but that was not the case.
Really modern hotel, lovely pool and helpful staff
close to the beach, yet very quite no
the location is very good for the beach which is just across the road. The receptionists tried hard to be informative and helpful the hotel has very little sound-proofing between rooms and corridors. It gets very noisy during early morning when the maids start work.
The hotel is compact and right on the seafront. Its prices are very reasonable and while its rooms are not huge and the breakfast not lavish it looks good, is kept impeccably clean and has staff that are both friendly and helpful. No.
Helpful pleasant service from the staff. rooms were a bit small for my liking.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent location right next to the beach.
The location was excellent for the beach and nice restaurants. The reception and downstairs areas were impressive, and reception staff very good. The room that we were allocated was nothing like the lovely one on the website and did not reflect the amount of money it cost.
The staff was really nice people - everyone was very serviceminded and very friendly to us. Thanks a lot to them all. We had a room with balkony, and the beach bar across the street had parties Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening/night during our stay - and it was too much noice for sleeping, until they closed.
very nice people working there. We switched rooms and got a better room. Better breakfast, more to choose in.
Beach facilities Hotel information on their web, site would not conform to U.K trade descriptions.
The best location in Pescara with sea view and the hotel staff is very friendly.
Helpful staff. Fabulous location for the beach. Difficult to find using buses. Even bus driver didn't know where we should get off.
Excellent stay friendly helpful staff excellent position.
The staff made an effort to speak in English and check in/check out was available 24 hours a day The doors are locked during the night and you have to ring a bell to gain access, I was unaware of this when going out and as such had to wait 15 minutes on the doorstep in the rain, ringing the bell, hoping for somebody to open the door.
Location Smell of drains in the bathroom
the comfort, the decor, the central location makes this hotel ideal for when i go to pescara I have been to this hotel for e few years now, it has gone through a major refurb during this time, but so have the prices.
The atmosphere. Very relaxing and quiet.
The hotel is absolutely lovely, the rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean, the breakfast excellent and the staff extremely kind and helpful.
Close to the station and the centre of town
Quiet location just off main pedestrian area, & perhaps 10 mins walk from seafront. Very convenient to Pescara train station and for bus to & from airport. Parking was unavailable in vicinity but cheapily available at station. Breakfast was provided for early departure.
Cenrally located, easy to find, able to park outside, spacious, clean well decorated room and a reasonable breakfast.
Very good location - 3 min from bus and central train station, but in quite area and 5 min in walking distance from sea. Very helpfull stuff - we left hotel before breakfast time ( at 6.00 a.m.) but still have a breakfast and very tasty cappuccino. We spent very nice 3 days in Pescara. And you should see the interior of this hotel!!!
absolutely everything, staff exceptional, gorgeous grounds, great food, beautiful location, want to go back soon!
The entire staff and the hotel manager were more than helpful. The hotel is lovely , set in beautiful park like surroundings with a view of mountains and ocean We had ants in our room from the balcony
The location of the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast each morning was on a veranda overlooking the Adriatic Sea. There is a wonderful pool with many places in the hotel to sit and relax. The room was warm, and we had to go to the front desk to ask for the air to turn be turned on. There we also numerous little flies in the room.
The staff were wonderful, helpful and very considerate and accomodating without being intrusive, a truly lovely experience. The location above Francavilla, overlooking the Adriatic and the truly romantic indoor/outdoor pool, swimming in the rain, fabulous Spa and staff removed all the stresses from my accident....Villa maria is the perfect tonic! n/a
We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the hotel restaurant and the next day used the spa facilities and had a massage. The spa was wonderful and both the hotel and spa staff were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was not as clean as it should have been and I found the decor of the room to be a bit too modern but that was probably the look that this hotel was going for.
The hotel is located on a hill with beautiful view. There is a nice spa.
We liked everything about Hotel Villa Maria. The staff all love their jobs and you get the best possible treatment. Everything is fresh, the pool is super, the food and drinks are perfect. And there is a very nice spa and wellness area. We had a nice room with a beautiful view over the Adriatic. We were booked for four nights, but decided to stay longer. So we had 8 nights in a total.
Freindly staff, great chef The entry from the town could be more appealing
The staff where terrific, nothing was too much trouble. The food and ambience where first class.
the setting, the staff,
clean rooms no air condition during my stay!!!
Top location Hotel is old - rooms are nice and renovated but public spaces looks old, and is not worth the price that is charged. I would recommend it however for the half the price we paid. Or the price would be justified should there have been additional services - swimming pool, spa, gym, etc. - but there was none of that.
It was conveniently located between the city center and the beach. Moreoever, it was clean and comfortable. Parking is not available. Pescara is a very congested city, especially around the beach area. Finding a parking spot is more than a challenge; it requires some knowledge of the parking fee structure for on the street parking and being able to find a place. Very difficult!!
The breakfast is good - except for the bread that is hard like stone - and there is a nice view of the beach from the breakfast room. Free wireless internet working well in room. Window to the back side is not desirable, balcony tiny, TV tiny, shower tiny. The receptionist was so unfriendly, it was shocking. The hotel restaurant has 99% dishes with fish or seafood, not even pasta (without fish/seafood) or lasagne.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was closed apart from breakfast. I wouldnt have booked if i had known this. I like to eat evening meal in the hotel.
Great hotel very helpfu and friendly staff We had to pay 10 euros each to sit on the beach opposite the hotel. I would have thought that access to the beach should be included in room rate,
There was internal swimming pool in the hotel. The breakfast was vary, there was a wild variaty of food (salty and sweety things as well) The restaurant of the hotel was closed during our stay (September).
everything was great! we are going next year again!:)
Very friendly and serviceminded staff. Good location, near the beach. Quiet area. Nice rooms and good value for money.
Top location:on the boulevard and near the mountains.Clean room and outstanding breakfast with typical italian coffee.Very nice family who run the hotel.2 swimmingpools and a very good price. What do you want more?
good location, good customer service from Belen on the reception desk. We had to change rooms, also poor selection and quality of breakfast.
Convenient for beach and areas north of Pescara. Availability of wi-fi. noise from corridor transmitted into room
