Quinta De Guimaraes

The location was superb but without the help of a local who we followed by car it would have been VERY dificult to find. This is more like staying in a private house rather than a hotel. We had dinner on three evenings and it was excellent. Just excellent produce and traditional/simple Portugese cuisine (good portions) with wine from the estate which just kept flowing ! Cost 30 euros a head. The owners were charming and spoke pretty good English, but the star of the show was the cook/maid/ you name it, who spoke no English but was simply delightful and could not have done more to make our stay there very memorable. It is very informal and relaxed, the pool was great the views superb and would be happy to go again and again and yes again !!

The lack of really clear directions for say the last say five miles from all directions.
