Pros: Really enjoyed our stay, Church Lane House is a little off the beaten track but still close to everywhere we had planned to visit. Immaculately clean, superb cooked breakfast and Chris and Ken are lovely hosts. Our room (we stayed in the green room) was a little on the small side but had everything that was needed for our three day trip.

Nothing was too much trouble, our wet clothes were whisked away and returned dry next morning and the pot of tea and Victoria sponge went down a treat. Breakfast was delicious and the whole feel of the place was warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Pros: Where to start...Zeena and Tim were super friendly, attentive hosts, so much so, it was quite hard to say goodbye! If you are looking for an eco friendly place to stay, these hosts have given a lot of thought to how to do this without compromising on the quality of service they provide. Breakfasts using local produce (where possible) and home made bickies on the welcome tray were also highlights. We were allowed to use the fridge in the dining room to store yummy cheeses that we had bought locally, which was an unexpected bonus. The all important bed was the most comfortable one we had come across in the 4 weeks we have been travelling so far....Thank you Tim and Zeena for running such a welcoming B&B!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Traditional "above pub" hotel room. Room was a bit on small side, lacking storage space but the bed was comfy and the bathroom had been recently refurbished to a high standard. Tea,coffee, water, biscuits all provided in room. The (evening) food in the hotel was good but the choice at breakfast was a bit limited due to it being cooked to order. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a good location for exploring the surrounding area. View from room attached.
7.9 Good
Pros: The breakfast was lovely and clearly made from local produce that didn't feel like it was from a supermarket. The location was very good for what we needed, which was away from the maddening crowd and relaxation. Silverdale itself is a little isolated but nevertheless close to other seaside resorts if you're cycling or in a vehicle. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The bar area was cosy and relaxed and the bar prices were reasonable bordering expensive. The food was excellent with decent portions. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Pros: The location was superb, well placed for both lakes and dales. Also close to two local towns, both with good pubs, eateries, cafes and shops. will definitely come back as only managed a short stay. Would like to explore more! Breakfast here was lovely - well cooked and good choice of options.

Pros: The whole experience was "home style". The food was fantastic home cooked style and great value. Like being looked after by a family member.
Cons: Although it suited our quite night away requirement, its a long way to anywhere else without taking the car. Really struggling to find a fault t all.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food and drink selection very good. Staff very friendly and professional
Cons: Beds hard and heating temperature could not be adjusted in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff, great evening meal and a lovely breakfast. We stayed in Room 2 which was not huge but newly (tastefully) decorated with a great comfy bed. Ensuite all new with a good, large shower and very clean. Ticked all of the boxes for a chilled night away and a lovely walk. Ask where the Fairy Steps are. We did a 7 mile round walk. The craft beer was tastier at the end!
Cons: Constant boiler noise in the room but it was actually quite soothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely pub with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Food was excellent and the rooms perfect sized and very comfortable. We would definitely love to stay again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, attentive staff and fabulous breakfast/ food. Highly recommended
Cons: No faults - very good
7.9 Good
Pros: Very comfortable beds, good service, good food, good car park, nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Stairs to second floor steep, could have done with a wardrobe but only there one night so ok
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic in terms of choice and quality although there was a significant difference in portion size between the two days. Loved the newly refurbished bathroom, especially the shower. Staff were very friendly.
Cons: Not many channels available on TV. Bed was only a double with a mattress topper that didn't seem quite wide enough and so you felt as if you were rolling towards the edge of the bed but very minor points compared to the overall stay which was lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff; owners, waitresses and bar staff. They rearranged the two rooms to have twin beds, following a booking error, even though the hotel was full. Great atmosphere, and would recommend staying here.
Cons: Nothing, all good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed the night before a show we were attending. We dined there in the evening and the food and service was excellent. We left very early the next morning and never had breakfast. The staff did offer to make this for us before we left but we declined as it was so early.
Cons: Nothing

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great food and very friendly, caring and helpful staff.
Cons: Everything was great - no faults or problems were experienced.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very convenient for the M6. My room was spacious, well lit and furnished (it had an arm chair) nicely decorated and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The food at dinner and breakfast was good and the portions generous. There is a very good choice of beers, wines and other drinks.
Cons: The bath taps were stiff and impossible to turn on, and the plug couldn't be made to stay in place, so I couldn't have a bath.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Food excellent, nicely presented by friendly and efficient staff. Despite busy road my room was very quiet but the walls a bit thin. Would definitely stay here again. Very welcoming.
Cons: Such a small thing - the smoke alarms blinking light shine towards the bed but could easily be fixed.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Most of the staff were lovely and welcoming. The breakfast choice and quality was good and the bed was comfortable and room clean.
Cons: The roast was not good. Overpriced for something that tasted like it had just been bought frozen at a cheap supermarket. One staff member was blunt and rude not just to her staff but also to us. The bathroom door jammed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent-very tasty and generous
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, lovely comfortable room which was clean and had good Wifi.
Cons: There was nothing to fault for a one night stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room very comfortable. Having a large bath and lots of hot water. Food was excellent. Nice decor in dining room. Lots of info about surrounding area and attractions.
Cons: No areas of dislike. Everything was good. No complaints.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly reception upon arrival and received same response from all staff during our stay. The food was very good and the service excellent. The room was well appointed and the bathroom/shower worked very well indeed. Our pre-ordered newspaper arrived as requested - early on our departure day. The hotel is very easy to get to and upon arrival, found plenty of free parking, which was adjacent to the hotel accommodation.
Cons: The flat screen tv was fixed on the wall ( wall opposite bed ) to the left of the bed position. Tried to rotate the screen around its vertical axis to enable better viewing and found it could not be rotated - the fixing bracket was not designed to do that. So, it would have been better to position the tv in line with the centre of the bed position. Carpet in the dinning area looked shabby and spoiled the general overall appearance.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was good for the J36 Conference Centre, the evening meal was nice.
Cons: Room 31 was lovely but it rained very hard throughout the night. You couldn't really hear the rain itself but something was constantly dripping onto something metal (seemed to be at the headboard end) and the noise was so loud that it kept me awake for most of the night.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The cooked breakfast is excellent and efficiently served.
Cons: I've stayed here before a few times, but this is the first time I have noticed that the bathroom grout and ceiling are stained (mould/mildew). I awoke too early to noises that could have been a boiler chugging to life.

4.2 Okay
Pros: Very noisy room with kitchen extractor outside window. No bath plug, kitchen closed until October, but no prior warning given at time of booking. Whole place inside and out, in desperate need of refurbishment.
Cons: Everything! On site parking good and girl behind the bar very friendly. NO WAY is this a four star hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast included in the price.
Cons: The whole place is good bit could be even better bu a bit of modernisation.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Easy parking out the back .
Cons: It was in desperate need of an up date, the overall look was very shabby. It was very dirty looking and there was mould in the shower We stayed there a couple of years ago and it was fine then, however it appears to have gone down hill a long way since that stay. They have stopped serving food in the evening, which we had had on our previous visit. The cost of £80 was far too much for one night in it's current condition. I believe the price was higher because of the Westmorland Show taking place at that time.
7.9 Good
Pros: Felt very welcome upon arrival , Breakfast was beautiful , very homely style rooms if you like a old traditional set up like we do Staff were all very helpful and polite Location was ok , local spar shop , fair few take away places, some ok some not so great. Overall I enjoyed my stay with this hotel , the place has a lot of character
Cons: I would have liked to have been advised when booking or upon arrival at least that evening meals were not being served until October as this was a bit of a pain with two small babies and would have made it a little easier if we could have booked an evening meal as I’m guessing it would have been a lot nicer than the places we had to go as the breakfast was lovely
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was spectacular, the en-suite was huge we could have had a party in the tub ;)
Cons: I expected the room to be cleaned and my towels changed and there was no housekeeping service after our first night’s stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great full english breakfast! Room was clean and comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location good with easy access to attractions. Breakfast and bar great. Good car parking.
Cons: Currently, due to actions of brewery, they have no chef so no evening meals possible. Good pub just over road.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice comfortable bed and large bathroom
Cons: Cooked breakfast was poor. Cheap sausage and hardly any black pudding or mushrooms. Coffee was also poor quality.
7.5 Good
Pros: it is clean and the staff are nice
Cons: it is very dated and desperately needs decoration
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean and very good value
Cons: Nothing
