restaurant and pool
we like our room very much, everything was shining! Friendliness of the staff! Poor breakfast buffet
clean rooms, staff (my luggage didn't come of the plane and the staff called the airport several times to check the status). beautiful pool area, breakfast (fresh orange juice and home made fruit salad every morning). great place to chill at the pool. The hotel is located near a very busy road (SS114), the main road of Giarre. Giarre itself is a not very interesting village: cars, cars, cars. there are only 3 rooms with views on the Etna, the other rooms are much smaller too. We stayed in the building close to the exit. When we turned of the airco at night, the noise of main road was audible. We do not recommend the restaurant. (best restaurant: Ciampoli in Taormina, it's on top of the building of the 5 star hotel El Jebel. fantastic views, great food and value for money: 6 course menu including a bottle of wine and water for 120 Euro(for 2).
The very nice views. Smallish room.
The great pool and views from our large balcony
Room and facilities The resteraunt was poor and relatively expensive
Away from the bussle, bit far on foot from the centre of Zafferana especiallly making your way back after an evening meal.
cleanliness, parking, kindness ans staff services
Nice Location Of little importance as we stayed for one night but the view out of the room to the outside was not like that of our previous stay.
the view from the huge balcony was amazing. The staff were helpful and allowed me the use of their office printer etc
Excellent friendly desk staff. Lovely pool & setting. Good view/position of room. Good full breakfast. Free internet. No airconditioning (it was very hot) Was told it would be repaired but not. No brochure/ hotel info in room, no instructions as to how to ring reception! V unconfortable bed .
We booked the hotel for its proximity to Mount Etna and for the beautuful looking pool and hotel. It looked lovely when we arrived but from thereon things became unsatisfactory. The hotel is regularly used as a wedding venue and when this happens hotel guests are not allowed to use the pool. The afternoon we arrived we were told we could not use the pool as there was a wedding in progress but that by 6pm it would be available - as it was the last guests left at 7.45pm so by then we were getting ready for dinner and no longer wanted to use the pool. On the 3rd day there were 2 weddings and we were told that we had to vacate the pool area by 1pm. we were extremely upset by this and spoke to the manager who said that different people book the hotel as a wedding venue from the hotel guest bookings and that we did not have a choice but to leave the pool! we pointed out that we were not told about this situation when we booked and indeed every day we had to ask if there was a wedding on. The evening weddings go on until past modnight sometimes with fireworks and very load music which again no consideration was given to the hotel guests at all. We felt as if we were not valued guests as did the rest of the hotel guests who were staying. Apparently May and June are the wedding season and they will book weddings during that time without informing guests who have alredy booked. The manager was totally ineffective in dealing with our complaint and did not seem to appreciate our greivance, though one of the front desk receptionists could understand how we felt. We could never recommend this hotel to anyone based on our experience which is a great pity as it is the most beautiful looking and fantastically positioned hotel.
Casansaldo is clean and well thought out. Every morning we had a lovely view of Etna. The location was convenient for what we wanted to see in the area. Parking on the premises was handy. Most of all, what made our stay was Antonio. He explained the area, looked after all of our demands and introduced many of the great restaurants in the area.
We found the hotel good and the Staff espesially Antonio remarcable friendly and helpfull.
Very close to Mt.Etna only about a 15 minute drive away. The hotel staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious.
Emmanus Hotel is located below the Etna volcano. The view from the room was priceless. You could practicaly see the whole catania region. it was so paceful and wonderful. Very few times I have had the chance to relax in such us wonderfull location. You need a car to get to it though but for a visit to the Edna the hotel is the best choice ever.
Great price and location, clean and efficient. Friendly staff. When we arrived late and hungry, the concierge arranged for a snack of cheese, bread and ham in our room, which was very appreciated and tasty. Food and decor in dining room were both just awful. Unsauced meatballs - hard, dry and bland over canned peas. The vegetable soup - more canned or frozen peas and carrots - was only saved by the grated cheese. I couldn't belive I was in Italy. I didn't know there was anyone in the country who could cook so bad. The light was too bright at dinnertime and the room was without warmth...though the temperature was quite hot. The only guests seemed to be very old - perhaps the hotel thinks old people don't care, but we all deserved better food and atmosphere. The serving staff was very nice however. Morning coffee was strong but didn't taste like coffee at all - couldn't drink it. The woman behind the counter did honor our special request for cappucinos, but was hesitant and grumpy when asked.
Friendly staff. Close to Mt. Etna. Inexpensive. Views. Too basic. No services (I.E., restaurant, bar, café) Unattractive hotel, block-house style. In wooded area with no place to walk. Too far to walk to town.
the room, friendly and helpful staf, the morning bufee, the location and enviroment.
Perfect location for visiting Mount Etna. None
very friendly staff, nice panoramic roof view, easy access te Etnea volcano a bit far from the main road
It was the cheapest hotel available that still was a hotel and not a B&B. Not very modern. Lights in the hotel room didn't work when I returned to the hotel from dinner, they had to turn them on from the reception, which was quite odd. Breakfast was a disappointment, basically just a coffee and a cornetto. Not what you expect from a hotel next to mount Etna and where international trekking travelers are likely to come. But the price was good.
The staff Old big flat building, it is not so nice.
