Nice nature around Better instructions how to find it
Very friendly staff and owners. Good-sized , well-maintained rooms with a greta view of the valleys below. A good location for walking and cycling holidays and if you want to explore both the Lunigiana and the Garfagnana.
Swimming pool, nature. I experienced several problems with service: 1. During breakfast - the waitress didn't clean my table after precedent guest. 2. I had to wait 1 hour for dinner 3. They added some drinks to my account that I didn't order. The same happened to friends of mine. They corrected it after my claim.
Excellent food in hotel restaurant and very reasonably priced, very comfortable atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff, beautiful surroundings
The location of this hotel is superb. This is a family run (English speaking) hotel which is very friendly and the food good. The gardens/pool area are lovely and are kept very clean as indeed is the whole hotel. Our only criticism was the design and size of bathroom which was very small. Overall, a very enjoyable 3 day stay. Very little, see above.
A very comfortable family run hotel with an excellent restaurant set in a fantastic location. Wish we could have stayed longer.
It was very difficult to find this hotel (navigation system will not help you unless you know the latitude and the longtitude of the hotel)
Comfortable, nice and quiet rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, good food, excellent atmosphere, good quality/price ratio
Nice view, quiet place. /
Very clean room, good staff, excellent food. I appreciated expecially the breakfast, which was rich and various, and the wonderful view of the roof terrace. Free Wi-fi internet connection is definitively a plus!
free bikes, staff and breakfast the hot tub was very cold
polite staff, good price, nice breakfast, clean no refridgerator in room, heating wasn't on(2nd April, was bit cold), small blankets
I liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff very much indeed The room with single beds very small but would be fine for children
The hotel was on the seafront and had its own car park. The public areas were very light and airy with excellent furnishings.
Location The hotel looks tired and needs to be refurbished. The breakfast was cheap, nothing special at all.
Very nice service, staff, excellent food
The place was charming and perfect for the relaxing stay we planned. We practically had the place to ourselves, so peace and quiet was abundant. We paid for access to the beach across the street...very reasonable and convenient. Appreciated the free bicycle use, and we could walk to many restaurants and shops. There were several comfortable seating areas, both inside and out for reading, talking, or board games. Beds were comfortable, and the bathroom shower was spacious by European standards! The staff was friendly, and helpful when asked. We chose to eat dinner at the hotel both nights, and the food was good, though we never really knew the cost until check-out. I would recommend this place to others who want to experience this nice little beach town. Though the staff was friendly and accomodating, the service was not quite as proactive as they might have been. We had to ask for our morning tea and coffee, rather than it being offered. The hotel was only 1/3 full, and we expected a little more attentiveness. To get the seaside view, we were on the front of the hotel, overlooking a coastal road. There was traffic noise all night long, but my earplugs helped me sleep well.
The location was very good, and it offered a good basic facilities. The roof-top terrace was very good, and allowed a nice area to relax and see the views of the mountains and the coast. The breakfast could have been better in terms of choices of food. The food that was available was excellent.
parking was very tight for my car
The hotel staff were welcoming, efficient, and friendly. The hotel was set in lovely peaceful gardens surrounding a large swimming pool. Our room was spacious and well equipped, with a balcony overlooking the gardens. The continental breakfast was ample, with platters kept topped up. Dinner was really worth staying in for, as was the service. Think dinner could have been longer. Open from 1930-2030. Close at 2100 would be better. Although we were not rushed to finish our meal
We chose this hotel because of tennis court very modest, quite old fashion hotel. Breakfest was outside although its autumn already and it was really cold.
The staff ever so helpfull and friendly, they gave lots of ideas when weather went bad. The pool was also very nice and the breakfast delicious.
It was close to where I wanted to be and very easy to find. The room was cold. There was no room service and the bar and restaurant shut too early.
Service was excellent, particulary I am very pleased with the help I have recieved from one gentleman and one lady at the reception area on my internet problem. They were very helpful and quick in action to solve my problem, which impressed me much.
nothing.no air con only anoisy ceiling fan .no seperate shower-----one of those over the bath jobs. we didnt stay the second night which we had paid for because it was a t.wenty minute walk from beach .beds were not comfortable.not what we expected.it was a 20 euro taxi ride from train station.
Friendly staff, good size room. Located in a quiet side street so there was no traffic noise. Plenty parking space available on the street when the car park is full. A little bit far from the town centre to walk back and forth.
The hotel staff is excellent, helpful and very easy to talk to, in Italian, German and English. We enjoyed a room with an enormously high ceiling and a nice private balcony across from the entrance of the hotel. With the bikes we rented in the hotel, we were only 10 minutes away from the centers of either Lido di Camaiore or Marina de Pietra Santa. Most of the guests were 65+ of age, but kind enough towards us 30-ers. With no shops or restaurants in the direct neighborhood, we understood why most of the senior guests had full pension.
silient place far from city center
It's a beautiful small chic hotel, with a lovely ambience and a romantic feeling about it with orchids and candles everywhere. Wiseria and jasmine winding over the balconies added to the overall prettiness, and a feeling of calmness and relaxation. The huge pool in the garden area was a nice surprise. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and helpful in everyway. I liked everything about the hotel. My room was smart, clean and very comfortable, as was the bathroom, however the shower cubicle needed updating.
a good location room
Excellent staff attitiude, eclectic decor, comfortable rooms with plenty of character, very good breakfast No, I liked everything about it
Close to the Sea and restaurants & great breakfast assortment! Rooms are a little small
Location and terrace Breakfast should be served until 11am: people love stay in bed until late in holiday time!
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable. Limited parking available on site. It was more convenient to park on the street.
The bartender was sociable. The staff at the front dest was efficient. They had free parking. 1) The bathroom/shower stall was tiny. 2) The air conditioning did not work well. 3) The mattress was soft and de-formed. 4) The pool water was like ice. 5) The breakfast items were not refilled regularly.
The attention of the staff, the facility to rent a bike, breakfast, the general appearance The hotel was lovely but perhaps it is best suited for families and couples over 50.
Relaxing, friendly, clean, quiet, easy to find, dinner menu a bit sparse but breakfast super. Lovely staff. Happy to stay again.Grazie a lei. Dinner menu
so cean, very friendly, great location, lovely decor. pillows!!!! i wish you had a little town map, wish you had boiled eggs in the morning for anyone who is not Italian. it would be cool if you could pay extra for a scrambled or fried egg but a bowl of boiled eggs would be fantastic.
Best Italian breakfast buffet we have met, friendly and very sympatic stuff.
Quiet hotel, very clean, with good decor, family run, made to feel very welcome, would definately return....no complaints...
The friendliness of the staff, the hotel was very quaint and very clean The rooms were a bit small
Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Beautiful rooftop garden with hot tub. Excellent breakfast buffet. Elegant and tastefully decorated.
I really liked the owners. They were helpful, charming and warm. They came to collect us from the station and returned us at the end of our stay free of charge. Great location. Attractively decorated. Small and personal. One slightly moody waitress and cheaper rooms slightly on the small side.
Breakfast was served until 14h, therefore I could sleep longer
The hotel receptions was great. Bicycles free for guest. Location. Nothing.
the staff were very helpful and the rooms were always clean. Even the breakfast was pleasant in an Italian hotel.
Excellent service and location, much better than it looks from outside
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very very close to the beach which is a big plus. Also had free bikes which was great. I would most definitely return if the room rates were about Euro120/night It was fine, though a little overpriced. Euro185/night was a bit outside my budget range
Proximity to the beach, breakfast and "farmer's market" on fridays. One special person, "Salvador" took the time to help us immensely with questions...but can't say the same for other front desk staff. Our initial arrival "greeting" was a bit disappointing. We had traveled several hrs by train and expecting a friendlier welcome and details on availability of "sightseeing, tours, restaurants" and most importantly, to tell us that all local restaurants close between 1430 and 1800 hrs!!! Nothing to eat and nothing opened to buy the minimum. Felt a bit like "pulling teeth" with info...
i too much was intrested in almost everythihg, and that is why , i will off course stay in that special hotel next summer with my family, we are 5 persons, and really want to enjoy my next vacaction at Excelsior, which will be good for all of us, i appreciated everything there, frankly speaking, nothing at all. all perfect . i felt very comfortable in my room, in the garden, in the lobby, dealing with employes, even i am now friend to all of them really nice staff, and was most nice, that its location is near beach, and behind was that nice garden .
Excellent position Poor breakfast
the seaside roon view is definitely worth the extra money parking can be a problem
The hotel seems to have been recently refurbished. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The situation is ideal, if you are looking for a hotel on the sea front that is. The room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast is very nice, proper coffee is served (not the usual cheap dirty water thingy). Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Please write at least 15 words Door and conciege staff excellent. Reception functional. No one could deal with our airconditioning problems Air conditioning either did not work, in adequate or overridden by central system which regulated temperature. Ac also switches off when you leave the room so that you come back to 26 degrees and it took 4 hours for it to get to 23 degrees and 9 hours to get it to 21 degrees. We had set at 19.

Room upgrading; quietness; confort; proximity to the beach; bike service; breakfast; amenities on the beach; quiet air conditioning Choice of pillows; separate wc; softer beds
Amazing service and beautiful rooms with the most comfortable bed i have ever slept in
The rooms location ,atmosphere and children friendly The design of the bathrooms , it is not comfortable to take a shower in the suites. The bathtub, although it is a jaccuzi, it is very small and not comfortable to take a bath in . The shower in the small suite is very narrow and not easy to finsh without hitting your hand or back against the wall or the shower handle !!
This is a realy nice place but for short time. hotel staff is excellent. the design is also not bed A little bit to expensive . with half price you can have a nice hotel in florence and to visit uffizzi gallery a realy art museum and probably they will include the breakfast at this rate of 450 e per day. the presentation on the net is much exiting than the reality . the pool in the middle of restaurant is only for design not for swim . so, you loose space and water . the garden can be better arranged
