The view from the room and from the terrace. The shower curtains, the bugs/leaves floating on the pool and the slow attendance at the hotel reception.
A very quiet place
Spacious rooms. High ceilings. Nicely furnished. Balcony off bedroom. Breakfast included in price. Clean. Has potential for the summer. Do not recommend in cooler weather. Cold(May 6). No heat. Swimming pool not open. Paid for buffet supper on site rather than eat @ restaurant in town & found food somewhat expensive for the quality we had become accustomed to in Portugal. Good choice of food, but it was not warm. Salmon steak tasted overcooked and as if they had been sitting for awhile before being served. Fado musicians were a half beat off from each other.
The location is nice. The hotel facilities are nice. The breakfast could be better. There was a strange smell in the hotel corridor (not in the room).
Very nice staff, but spoke very little english. Picturesqu property with nice sized and well equiped rooms.
Although we only stayed for one night at Hotel de Ilhavo on our way to the north of Portugal we were in for a pleasant surprise. The hotel is relatively new with big and comfortable rooms, staff is really nice and efficient and we even had the chance to use the indoor pool&whirlpool (open until 10pm, pleasantly warm pool temperature) in the evening. Rooms were clean and the breakfast buffet really great with a lot of choices available. The hotel was relatively hard to find as there are a lot of confusing signs regarding the centre of Ilhavo and the hotel itself doesn't have any signs posted. We even got lost on our way back from Aveiro to Ilhavo.
Pretty hotel with friendly employees. Very nice pool & fitness room. Good &free parking spaces. Cheap Internet access Rooms with relatively thin walls. Not very good located
The Buffett was excellent value, as was the breakfast. The outdoor swimming pool facilities were excellent. Lack of barstaff, sometimes there was no-one around the bar area at all.
Good facilities; Good breakfast; Restaurant
The indoor swimming pool and gym are good for a small hotel. There is also an outdoor pool. Dinner needs to be reserved as it seems a lot of non guests dine there, attracted by the good food. Breakfast is adequate. The location is not attractive, situated along a suburban street. It seems that the hotel is being extended as construction work is in progress. The entrance to the underground car park is narrow but there is some parking in front and at the side of the hotel.
The staff very pleasant and the rooms very space and very clean
very nice interior, swimming pool, garden. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. The hotel is situated in a nice and quiet holiday development just outside Praia de Mira. The bikes you can rent at the hotel are old and tired. We started for a long rind along the wonderfull cycling paths. But obviously those bikes (no gears) were not up for this challenge. To start they were very heavy and the had only one gear. They didn't even have lights. Our bike had a broken sadle and a flat tire. The price for these bikes was way to high: 3€/hr. (july 09). The hotel management should definetly invest in better bikes. The cycling opportunities in that area are amazing there.
tranquility the children
Size of the "apartment",quiet area. The breakfast is poor for a 4 star hotel, the heater of the bedroom is not that great.I needed some toothpaste and the hotel only had some that were already expired, that's not a 4 start service.
Nice modern hotel in Mira Villas 5-10 minutes drive from Praia de Mira. Mini-kitchen, balcony, nice modern room. Good breakfast. Good pool. Nice staff. Not walking distande to Praia de Mira and the sea.
Very nice interior, swimming pool, garden. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. The hotel is situated in a nice and quiet holiday development just outside Praia de Mira. Excelent restaurant. No swimming pool for little childrens... Not walking distance to Praia de Mira and the sea.
Being a Aparthotel, it´s bad that in the Studio´s there is no microwaves, and there is nothing to wash and clean the dishes, for example. These are the negative points for me.
The pool and facilities around it, the room was good and the buffet breakfast was good. The separate dining arrangements were well done and the service was first class.. I did not like the area of Praia beach, which was just like Blackpool only worse! I realize that this is not the fault of the hotel. The weather was not too good either.
The very nice interior design, and hotel staff
next to the beautifull aveiro lighthouse. It is a good option to one who likes to explore the nature, particullary the "ria de aveiro". Wireless internet available. it is like beed and breakfast, no more options to enjoy your stay.
The breakfast was great. Beautiful beach. The address says Aveiro, but this hotel is actually on the beach, Praia de Barra, a 30 minute bus ride or 15 minute taxi ride from Aveiro. The room was not ready when we got there, and we got a double bed rather than the two single beds that I booked.
Location close to the beach and restaurants etc. Extremely bad for parking. (During the high season it must be almost impossible to find anywhere). The balcony just had a view of the building opposite. The breakfast was awful. There was no air conditioning - which would make the room very uncomfortable in hot weather.
A clean and quiet hotel located close enough to the sea. Friendly and helpful staff, more than a sufficient breakfast buffet, small rooms but equipped reasonably. During a high season parking your car could be a problem - the hotel does not have its own car park.
Having a parking available for the guests and the family atmosphere. N/A
Is centrally located in Costa Nova. Hotel and its facilities are clean and well maintained. Breakfast is ok and typical for hotels in Portugal. Room was quite small, a bit narrow.
The room was clean and the breakfast was good. Very friendly hotel staff. The room interior looked quite castoff and the door of the room could not be closed because of damaged door handle (i saw the same in several room's).
good location. not far from beach and fish restaurant. Good for summer vacation. they have twin beds not double as expected
The area itself, hotel very pleasant, very clean and breakfast adequate. No outlook but it did not spoil our stay.
Good location to visit Aveiro and the Ria de Aveiro.
clean, good value for money poor breakfast
Breakfast There was a dead bug in our bed.
Very pleasant place to stay, we've enjoyed it a lot. Mira beach is a fantastic place to have a rest for a few days, very calm. The receptionist was very helpful providing info about the place. Hotel is kinda old fashion, although its is nice and very clean.
The staff was very helpful and polite. Not all of them spoke english, but that was not really a big problem. The hotel is well located, it's a short walk to the beach and all the shops and restaurants in town. The price was very good. The parking lot was also a nice feature. The breakfast was very basic. There's also quite a lot of noise from the stairwell in the morning when people are leaving for breakfast since the doors are quite thin. So if you're planning to sleep later than most, you might be annoyed of this. All in all our stay was a very pleasant one.
The hotel is close to the beach and the center of the city. Parking facilities are good.
Free WiFi, fine breakfast, wonderful views from the third floor. Very Friendly reception. 100 m from the beach. No WiFi in rooms.
Big and spacious rooms, good value for location but can imagine price increase alot during summer. There is no heating, nor air condition in the rooms.
Good localization, parking and big breakfast. There was really cold inside the room although it was an electric heater inside.
Leaving Yes, no heat, no hot water nite we arrived. Pillows too small, too hard
This represents excellent value and stretches to a good continental breakfast with the hottest coffee in Portugal. Good parking facilities even if it could be a squeeze for a larger car. Very pleasant roads with the holiday town within easy walking distance. Wow what a beautiful beach which stretches for miles and locals were very welcoming. English speaking hostess made us feel very welcome and was helpful. Modern administration facilities are to the fore. Initial impression is created by the external/road side view. It looks run down. However move through to the reception and the Residencia takes on a new look. Bathroom is interesting and the first time that we have experienced a bidet/shower - one for the Anglo humour. In addition running repairs had to be effected to the shower unit.
The hotel was very poorly heated on a cold winter night. The water was not very hot and the was a smell of mildew in the hotel. I dont understand how they have three stars.
Lovelly decoration, and very confortable.
The hotel staff was nice and the smokers rooms have a balcony with nice view. No cushions, very unconfortable double bed(made of two unconfortable single beds put together.)
Cleanliness and friendly helpful staff I am coeliac and I had to provide my own food for breakfast as there was no gluten free food available in hotel
Extremely comfortable smart hotel. Handy location for town. No
Helpfulness of staff. Quality of restaurant. Tranquility(at rear of hotel). Proximity to town. No
Clean good location, exceelent and friendly staff
bikes were avalable -- the emptying of the glass container at 07.00am in front of our window, the lack of of map of the surroundings facilitating the biking in the surroundings, the lack of a small boat to visit the lake
The peace and quiet and beautiful setting
Very relaxing, beautiful spot on the river
Good value for money - free bicycle hire. Excellent swimming pool, and loan of towels for pool. There was a folklore dance group on and so the hotel was busy, yet they still managed to find us a table to watch the dancers and really looked after us.
The staff was very friendly - the hotel was very nice The hotel was a little isolated
The hotel is quite calm, good for a stay for relax
personnel street noise noticeable through door which could not close compeletely.
Lot of space in room, wooden floor, heating, car parking
Nice Room with all that is needed. Good breakfast. The Hotel it´s not brand new
hotel very well located ,very quiet , good restaurant , the staff is very helpfull
The staff and owner were absolutely superb.
The Estalagem de Sangalhos is a great clean and well maintained hotel. The staff made all the difference extremely helpfull and nothing was a problem
Very nice and helffull staff. The room was a bit humid and "smelled" a bit...
Free wifi at lobby. The man of the night in reception, so nice guy. Breakfast was ok for us (specially big croissants and fruit of the season)Had one problem with the lights in the room and they solved it fast. There are many little small business (fruit, bar, veterinary, newspapers, bank) around -50mts- hotel zone. There is a LiDL at 1km distance. Near the LiDL there is a very nice restaurant, called o Gremio or something like that, seems expensive when you see it from outside but is like all food in portugal cheap, great quantity and quality!!. Anyways you have to go Aveiro where there is one of best pizza restaurant I have ever been, called Ma Arte or Pizza Arte, Arte Pizza something similar. Deliciuous There are old rooms and reformed new rooms. Quite a difference beside ones and others (fan vs climatisation system wtf!!). No wifi access in room. The hotel is in a transited bi directional street with not easy parking in front of to leave luggage/check etc. Anyways there is a parking 50 mts near and another one 75 mts.Seems you have to pay in the near one but the receipt machine was broken so we didnt pay nothing. Hotel have also like 2 places in a small closed parking.
the staff was very friendly and they explain us everything about activities, how to go to beachs, etc...
only hotel available in area to visit various places room was very small although it was descibed as executive
staff very kind and helpful
Friendly staff. The room was small but clean and the facilities moderized
CAB Madeira basketball team was playing ADVagos at the Municipal Gym. We were there to support CAB and to see our grandson play in his first professional game. Hotel had computer, Wi Fi, for use. No charge. Needed directions to several places and the information provided was clear and thorough. Since we did not have a car, public transportation was arranged on time. The Manager was very pleasant as was all the staff. No
The staff has been very kind and the room very nice and clean. Also the breakfast was very very good. Nothing
Very Kind Staff
the rooms were clean and nice bathroom, good breakfast and very friendly staff!
This hotel is a family owned and operated which brought a home feel to my stay, great recommodations to local eateries and regional specialties. No complaints at all, very nice and great stay for me!
This was a nice, inexpensive European-style hotel. It was basic, but had everything we needed. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
