Staff were generally friendly, room was clean and well laid out, fabric shower curtain stayed in place when using the shower and didn't cling like other materials. Generous spirit 'measures' great nibbles with drinks Very limited 'resturant' menu available - seemed more on outside board
Bruno the barman Trains too early for a late night in Madris
The hotel was very attractive and in a very nice location, we stayed just one night en route for the North, the breakfast was very good, We shall return as we believe it will be a very convenient hotel for a visit to Madrid.
I liked absolutely nothing about the hotel. The room smelled of "shake and vac". The shower was leaky. The breakfast was atrocious.
pleasant friendly staff very good comfort and cleanliness one evening meal was very disappointing - very oily
free wi-fi internet connection at times very slow
Hotel location - close to my place of business. Pleasant staff. Enough parking places outside. Poor breakfast choice. Poor WiFi connection. I'd preffer to pay for good and reliable connection than have free but poor one. Heating control is not comfortable. For a hotel I'd expect more TV channels in Englich language.
Location extremely near to the station and can reach to SOL in straight 30 Minutes maximum. The reception was extremely friendly and smiled to bring warmth.
The room was clean. The staff was competent and polite. The location was safe, reasonable quiet and within easy walking distance of the train station. Our daughter"s best friend was with us and our daughter (an au pair in Madrid) was able to stay with her and breakfast with us without any problems. (See below) Our room was too warm. This was probably a combination of the season (neither the heating nor the air conditioning were turned on) and the room location. The hotel location was quiet enough that we could sleep comfortably by having the window open for most of the night. There are no singles, only doubles, single occupancy (but see above). We live in a region with excellent restaurants, so the comparison is not fair, but the hotel restaurant was not what we would expect for a hotel in this hotel price category. (This does not mean there was anything wrong with the food!) On the other hand, the restaurant prices were in line with the quality, so we were satisfied.
The breakfast very good The WIFI was saturated
Excellent location for visiting Segovia as well as the local palace and gardens. Easy access from Madrid airport and also easy to visit El Escorial via very beautiful mountain road. Usual excellent Parador buffet breakfast. Unlike other Paradors I have stayed in this has no outside terrace ro grounds.
We asked several staff members to direct us to the pool and then again in the spa area so that we could take a swim but were told that unless we purchased a spa treatment we could not enter the pool area. We never did get to see or swim in the pool.
The location was fabulous - surrounded by mountains and beautiflul countryside but in the lovely town of San Ildefonso and only 10km from Segovia. There was nothing to fault about the room - it was clean, sound-proofed and everything worked well. The reception staff were all unfriendly and unhelpful - they seemed more concerned about their paperwork. We never ate at the hotel as there were restaurants in the town serving breakfast and dinner at a much more sensible price.
The rooms are spacious, clean and have lots of light. The small town is charming and the hotel a good mix of comfort and pleasure.
The historic setting and proximity to the palace and gardens, and the beauty of the building and its imaginative restoration. The dinner menu was pricey so we avoided it, but the breakfast was to die for. Every imaginable item was available. Sadly we had overslept so had little time to exploit it to the full. The hotel was also peaceful and the rooms large and well equipped, and the views great. The booking was a bit confused. Our internet booking had come up as for the following month (or so they said) although on returning home and checking emails, booking.com had correctly confirmed it to me.
Although this hotel looks stunning, the rooms miss the character and personality that we do find in other paradores. The spa is rather expensive and, more importantly, the pool was closed (in september, 30 C degrees))
had a wonderful nights sleep in comfortable beds with completely blacked out rooms, I came to visit my daughter in nearby segovia and feel that it is a great place to stay providing you have a car
Wonderful facility. Surpassed our expectations!!! Staff was quite unfriendly. Professional, just seemed like they did not care if we were there or not.
Beautiful hotel, large comfortable rooms, friendly efficient staff
freiendly service poor wireless connection, disconnected many time. No wired ethernet either. Breakfast is not good as 4 starts hotel.
Very convienient location for visiting the Technology park (15 minutes walk) and the Railway station is only 100m. The cooked breakfast was disappointing - luke warm.
helpful staff at check-in, clean modern design of building
Good location if you have to be in Tres Cantos for business. The wifi works fine.
wifi connection not working in all rooms
helpful staff; food was good; comfortable room; easy access from Madrid-Barajas air conditioning in room did not seem very effective and so I had to open the window and so I heard the trains!
Excellent stop over for trip from Santander to Costa Blanca, 250 miles from Santander with over night stay before the last 300 miles to our destination..very clean and staff polite...it is a dog friendly hotel with a very good breakfast..the town was quiet and friendly...we did the return trip the same way and left at 08:00 and this gave us plenty of time to catch the 15:15 ferry.
Very convenient for the motorway. Few bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Had a lovely meal in the bar a few doors down from the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a simple buffet but was included in the price of the room so made this very affordable and good value. Gentleman on reception spoke very good English which was helpful. There was a lovely sun terrace at the hotel but no chairs or loungers to sit and relax there. It was still early in the season so maybe they weren't expecting the lovely weather we were lucky enough to have.
Was good as a stay during driving from Madrid to north of spain
good breakfast, staff helpful, easily reached off autopista, room well equipped, close proximity madrid. nightime noise from other residents. noisy aircon
Good all round facilities.
Location for travel from Santander to south of Spain. Secure parking. Allows dogs.
friendly staff, and close to motorway for travelling, easy to find and secure parking, good value hotel, and breakfast, in middle of small town, but the night we stayed very quite, we will use it again.
Good secure car parking No restaurant in the Hotel
Value for money, especially the quality of the breakfast, with fine choice and eat as much as desired. Close to all the village had to offer, with choice of bars and restaurants I thought that to be charged over 6 euro's for overnight stop, was not in keeping with the whole aspect of what the hotel offered. A less or free such facility would enhance the reputation
The restaurants and bars in the caves above the town The A/C was switched off because they said it got very cold at night (October 1st). Not if you're a Brit it didn't.
Friendly staff and food and rooms excelent and when had problems woth motorcycle were so very helpfull and helped me to get to airport None excelent, I would recomend this hotel to anyone
the courtesy of hotel-staff and the cleanliness of the habitat
very good restaurant long walk from end room to restaurant and no lift or elevator for those who have difficulty walking or getting up stairs.
The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The hotel was easy to find just off the motorway. There was a bar/cafeteria and restaurant attached to the hotel which was needed as the hotel is approx. 5km from the Town.
Handy for motorway Restaurant- food good put pricey - service slack
Bedroom and shower-room were well styled and breakfast facilities were very good. No room cooling facility except for opening bedroom window.
We look foreword to our next visit, when it will be like meeting up again with old friends. Lovely people in a great hotel Our room was bit chilly and could do with some rugs on the floor
Excellent room, good on site resturant. Massive double bed
Friendly receptionist, who ran through Hotels facilities and showed us where everything was, unusually good None
large room, newly refurbished bathroom, large comfortable beds. easy access from motorway, and secure parking area at rear of hotel.
Location. Nice room The Hotel was satisfactory. The non smoking policy is not adhered to. We had to have breakfast in the bar area which was a smoking area.
Flexibility of hotel staff; services; cleanliness of your room
Very helpful and friendly staff. Extremely good value for money. A large comfortable room. Achoice of tapas or formal restaurant both reasonably priced. Ideal for exploring Segovia, Avila and Escorial area. A short car journey to Vilaalba for the train to Madrid
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very helpful and nice. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family!
The location near the Sierra de Guadarrama mountains. The hotel has potential to be nice, but it is badly in need of some maintenance (for example, the parquet in the floors was loose and popped up when we walked across the room). There is a large and completely open center staircase. All the noise from the bar and lobby funneled straight up through that opening to our rooms on the top floor. At 1:00 a.m., after trying to sleep through the noise for hours, I went downstairs and asked the front desk to please turn off the loud music and break up the party going on in the lobby. They did it, but it was a very frustrating experience. I wouldn't stay there again because it's just too loud.
The balcony and view was marvellous A Wedding party on the second night meant we couldn't use the lounge and they were noisy until 3am going to bed. Room a bit cold. Noisy at front of hotel from road (no double glazing).
Comfort and cleanliness. An elevator would be good for heavy luggage
clean, nice rooms. friendly staff. music from nearby bar lat in evening.
Comfortable room, good value for money, especially with buffet breakfast included.
reception staff very friendly. Rooms comfortable. Good location for travelling around the area Breakfast was pretty basic and not the best. Hotel restaurant very over priced and the rooms were dated and needed re painting.
The hotel was clean and the staff were very nice. The shutters were all pulled down and not able to open them (we arrived quite late and tried, but were very noisy and did not want to disturb other guests. We tried again in the morning, but the would not raise). There was also no air conditioning in the rooms and because we could not open the shutters & doors, it was stifling. The room was also booked as a triple, which turned out to be a standard double (two twin beds) with a roll-away cot pushed in.
Location and easy access
I liked the location and views in the mountains, but easy to find and reach by public transport, as a contrast to the city environment of Madrid, and the room / facilities were good value for money. We were poorly received on arrival. The receptionist, who had not been working there for long (as she later told us), failed to check / remind us that we had booked the Romantic Offer for 2 including dinner, and gave us a negative response when we asked if coffee or tea was available in the room. As a result we went down to the village to look for something to eat and missed having the dinner at the hotel that was included with our booking but which we had forgotten about at the time we checked in (early evening). However the next day the management agreed to give us a free lunch instead. So we left more or less happy with our stay.
The area and the view from balcony were beautiful!! The town was deserted, must have been off season.
location the hotel could use a facelift
Location and view We could not acess to the swimimg pool during the stay because the vigilant did not work at Sunday and Monday... poor activities for childreen
Large warm comfortable room with a fantastic view. A complementary "ski pack" full of goodies. Heated indoor pool and games room. Very friendly staff. Very short drive into Navacerrada and restaurants. Athough the breakfast was good the evening meal menu del dia was appalling. The food was cold and tasteless.
Nice hotel in Nordic style with very big and clean rooms for a very affordable price
Very friendly and helpful staff, easy access from Madrid, Pool, access to mountains, lively social scene in nearby Navacerrada No air conditioning - but in fairness it was cooler here in mountains
The view Restaurant
The facilities in the hotel are good, snooker, ping-pong, indoor and outdoor swimming-pool. Large bedrooms. Good for kids. Employees are nice. The Restaurant served the worst possible dinner on Valentine's Day. The hotel is quite old faction. The beds are very uncomfortable.
Friendly and helpful staff, quiet peaceful surroundings, a short walk (10m) to shops and restaurants. Very good value for money. The window didn't open very far which might affect the air circulation in the room: it was a little bit hot. Then again, it was the middle of August so maybe that's a better explanation. The fans in the room work well and keep the room fresh.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Good restaurant. Room was comfortable and warm.Plenty of space. We had a bit of trouble finding it, but staff were very helpful when we phoned them to say we were lost.
