It was close to the railway station. It was clean and comfortable, and quite typical for an older hotel. We only spent one night so it was adequate for our needs. Smell of smoke.
This hotel is close to the train station and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Reception staff friendly and helpful, restaurant staff and food very good.
The receptionist was multi-lingual and spoke excellent English There was nothing I didliked about this hotel. It was extremely convenient to the central trail station as well as to the downtown shopping area. It has a really fine restaurant.
We chose the hotel for its convenience to the railway station and this was good. Break fast was adequate. Our bedroom was dark and dingy and, frankly, rather depressing, with spartan furniture.
This was our best stay in Europe. Very close to train station, though very quiet. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast and dinner!
Central location, excellent a la carte menu
The new lift! Friendly staff remembered me from previous visit. Very clean and comfortable room. I just like this hotel - it's a nice place to stay and I would recommend it. As others have remarked, there is some updrift of a stale smoke smell from public areas. Switzerland in general could use a smoking ban in public places.
The staff was very warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel is located a short distance from the train station - a hub for many alpine rail adventures. The buffet breakfast provides a good variety of choices for both the vegetarian and carnivore. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The decor reminded me of home.
The room facilities were excellent, comfortable, super bathroom, great view, spacious. Hotel easy walk to station, shops, restaurants. Breakfast included. Good for short stay on way through Switzerland. Reception not very helpful on arrival, manned only limited hours. Restaurant closed for renovations but still advertised in room. No alternatives suggested. Wifi not free,
Price, free wireless internet access & proximity to downtown
A straightforward hotel offering all that was necessary for a short stay in a town where most people will be briefly passing through.
The view of the castle from the hotel was perfect. Family room was a strange layout with shower opening directly into the hallway. Didn't like the polyester duvet covers or the stray hairs in the bed. Bunk beds were good for the children but there was no safety barrier on the top bunk and the head space on the bottom bunk was better suited to a young child - our 7 yr old couldn't have sat up in the lower bed.
Great location in front of the castle, very friendly and polite staff, good breakfast, clean room and good hotel facilities
This hotel was fantastic. We really enjoyed the great views and wonderful location. Breakfast was simple and very well prepared. The town of Brig itself is full of hotels but we really felt that we made the right choice staying here. Only downside was that we asked for a double room and had two single beds pushed together. This is frustrating but didnt detract from a wonderful hotel experience all round. Hats off to the owners for also providing great internet and library lounge facilities. Excellent!
Very friendly service. Clean and big confortable room. Nice view on the castle and its park. From there, it is easy to walk (3min) to the center of Brig.
This hotel is situated near the bottom of a steep hill below a ski resort area. In winter there are many ski runs to choose from and in summer some of Switzerland's best walks are easily accessable using the gondolas that run all year round. The room was very spacious and had the best kitchen and cooking facilities. The hotel is in a very quiet area. You have access to the spa and wellness clinic at the Salina hotel just 200m down the road. The staff at this hotel could not be more helpful although their English is not perfect. This is one of the most helpful hotels i have ever stayed in. This hotel is not on the main tourist trail although I am not sure why. The glacier above this hotel is amazing (you can't see it from the hotel). The result is that the town is very small and we saw no tourists there. (This is not a bad thing). We don't speak German very well so struggled to find the hotel. If you don't have a car you must call the Salina hotel and ask them to pick you up. The staff in the gondola booking office are useless. When you visit this office make sure that you have all the information you need from the hotel staff. There are gondola discounts available that the gondola booking office won't tell you about.
The view from the room was breathtaking, the furniture in the room was very comfortable. I liked the balcony, we actually had breakfast there. The hotel is a bit further from the cable car but there is a short cut between the gardens.
Quiet and relaxing. The lack of information on your part, (Booking .com) about having to obtain the key to the place at another loaction, at Hotel Salina (?), a distance away was a serious inconvenience.
Everything was great! (Though it was a little hard to find. Make sure you get more specific info from the hotel than on the booking info.) It's not a luxiry place, but the location is quiet and comfortable. The staff was gracious and helpful. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious, couldn't have asked for more. Beds were very comfortable. No.
We stay during low season, falls. It is very cold. The room is quite ok for staying 4 persons. The room is with kitchenette. The view is terrific. The town is hide up over the town, Morel. It was hard to find if we didn't phone the hotel. The check-in has to be made at Sarina Maris.
modt things. a good place to stay 1 to some weeks
Breakfast was good, view was lovely. This is an annex to the hotel over 200m away and is made up of rooms rented from their owners. There was therefore no standard to work to. I would recommend the hotel with this proviso.
nice room and quiet near the airway station nice view was ok
This is not a hotel it is a non serviced apartment which means your room is not cleaned and you need to bring your own soap! The property didn't have it's own swimming pool as advertised, it belongs to another hotel and you have to pay 5 Euro per person to use it.
Free use of pool; balcony; kitchen The website did not make it clear that the reception was in a different hotel somewhere else! We were on foot and this was a real problem!
nice location, could use the pool at the sister property There were a number of issues we were less than happy with but I'd like to focus on just the most important one. The shower is unsafe and my wife fell and got badly hurt. The staff said this was the first time they'd heard of such a thing happening and provided an ointment to ameliorate swelling.
Clean and quiet - that's the most important
Stayed there before, so owner remembered me, will be going back again soon. Good hotel excellent location, friendly staff highly recommended. No
The reception staff was very helpful spoke good English. Room was nice and big breakfast. Enjoyed our 2 nights stay at Europe Hotel Love everybit of the hotel
Proximity to station Namesake breakfast and internal facilities also not adequate to qualify for a three star
Most informative reception (English speaking). Location 20mins walk from centre of town/station(ost) but not a problem. lovely dining facilities. Possibly 'location not being central, but for the price, this is hardly a problem. Those with mobility issues need to know this, however.
We liked everything as Location (in front of the Train station), Free WiFi, good staff, the room size, good breakfast. We really reccomend this hotel. We have stayed here twice. nothing.
The location of this hotel could not be better - immediately outside Brig train station. My room was at the back so I was not disturbed by train movements or announcements. I suspect front facing rooms may have more of a problem. A very acceptable hotel for a short stay in the area.
Proximity to rail station noise
Pleasant and friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, good breakfast in nice surroundings, convenient for town and rail station
Access to pool and wellness centre is very good option - rooms are quite large - people are very helpful and friendly - a quite environment - guided tours offered which are well worth doing The hotel is fairly sober and spartan - the bathroom is quite small and the bathtub is very narrow making it somewhat of a challenge to take a shower in particular as the shower head keeps on sliding down the holder and it is impossible to fix - there is breakfast buffet which is very good but dinner needs to be done at the very good food and value for money Tavern 50 m opposite hotel or walking steeply down and up to village of Morel
Huge comfortable rooms with a lounge and kitchen we didn't expect! The food in the restaurant was superb and very well presented with great service. As we don't speak any german it would have been a good idea to have the menu translated into english (reception staff spoke english very well!), or even into french. It was pretty much guesswork what we were ordering (though as already said was excellent food!).
Friendly & Helpful staff -- Great accomodations
I liked the polite & nice staff, the spa
Hospitalilty was outstanding
Nice Hotel, nice surroundings, beautiful area for hiking, etc.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great for hiking the various trails and was a short but steep walk to the train station. Also had a spa that was large and warm. A very good place to return to after a day of hiking.
The staff were very friendly and helpful - beautiful little town, near the railway station of Morel, would go back
The pool is great; the staff are helpful, the location is amazing and the restaurant by the hotel served the best meal we have ever had at a Swiss restaurant.
The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful with all of our requests. The breakfast was quite nice and served until 11, which was nice! The room was big, modern and had a super view of the mountains. The restaurant was also quite good - dinner was excellent! Wellness Oasis was big and very well kept.
The welness center with large bathtub with whirlpool and airpool hydromassage system. We enjoyed it coming back from the long trip to the glacier ridge. We were 2 adults and 1 child of 3 y.o. The publicized price included breakfast and the child in the room. But at the moment of the payment of our 2 days stay we had a surcharge of 80 CHF for the child breakfast, corresponding at the 40 % of the room price.
The situation of the hotel. Announced as 4star hotel we had a tiny room (Nr 235) a bathroom 75cm large and 2 m long, when the door was closed it was not possible to use it. As weel a wc was in the bathroom but while using your head is almost in the zink. Even the hairdryer had no space it was using the towelhokders.,Shokking for 4stars. At checkout we had 1 night reduction due to this room. Whenever you booking this hotel do not accept room 235 or equals.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. After a hard days hiking it would have been nice to get room service for light meals but the hotel does not have a restaurant; good restaurants are newby however.
Beautiful, spacious and perfectly clean rooms and bathrooms, nice location, very good breakfast buffet. The wireless internet connection was not working in our room.
nice room and bathroom it was only possible to have braekfest;mybe the can put an thea/coffeemachine in the room
We had two adjoned rooms, both beautiful and big, each with balcony, very clean and the staff was helpfull and friendly. The hotel looks actually much nicer from the outside than on the photo.
Very friendly and helpful owner. Our room was comfortable and large.
very friendly staff, nice location, Internet facility The room was noisy due to the busy highway, but only during daytime.
Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Wireless internet all over the hotel and a huge iMac in the dining room that is publicly available. Nice views from the rooms.
Warm welcome, clean and adequate rooms. We asked twice for the heating to be turned on, and it did not happen, so we were cold during the nights.
We liked the breakfasts , the beds were very comfortable and we had informative chats with the very friendly owners The only thing we didn't like is that the bedside lights were too bright so that when one of us wanted to sleep and the other one wanted to read that wasn't possible
We chose this hotel for it's location and facilities -free internet, parking and breakfast. At the place , we noticed more : it's location in a beautiful area, the very pleasant , kind and helpful host, a good breakfast , plenty of information on local trips and holiday opportunities . Nice room with balcony with a direct view to Rhone river and mountains , basic but clean , warm, frigo ,wi-fi. After three days we decide to prolong our stay, and we got immediate approval from the hotel manger ,the charmante lady that made our stay very pleasant. We'll be back for sure .
Fantastic hotel! very friendly.
The lady in charge of the hotel was speaking english (not so common in that area) and was very friendly. We could stay in the bar even after the closing time. It is a bit far from the train station and the center. Since there is no dinner service at the hotel, you have to walk down to the restaurants. Our room was a bit dusty.
very comfortable and warm room , the breakfast is sooo good, the ower is quite friendly and talktive basically nothing dislike, only the sheets and the cover are a little old. maybe they can change the new one
It's easy to find from Brig railway station, walk about 10 minutes. Too simple and crude furniture in the room, indeed no garbage bin.
It was perfect, clean, confortable and the staff was very professional, polite and kind
Very little. The menu was not what we would have expected at a hotel, e.g. beefburgers. No choice at breakfast.
Left the wrong key for me and I wasnt able to get hold of anyone to correct this.
The owner--he took us under his wing and even prepared breakfast for us and took us to the train terminal. no--there was nothing we did not like.
Right in the middle of the ski resort Cleanliness of our bathroom was not given; staff did NOT seem to react to our complain nor to their own findings (portier saw bathroom, but his report did not result in any activity)
Set menu at hotel was excellent. Great location near slopes and the lively bars. Disco in hotel was good.
location, bar/restaurant lack of lounge area apart from the bar which could be very smokey
Staff were very helpful and the hotel is very close to station but not noisy
Location of the hotel. Spacious room. Lack of a nice lounge.
The family maintain a friendly, wonderful hotel in an enjoyable city
Cleanliness, location, friendly staff Not really 3-star in my experience of this level of hotel. Maybe the definition is different in Switzerland. I'd say 2-star but overpriced for that level of hotel.
Close to centre of town. This hotel is fairly average/basic. Only just rates three stars. One night was enough for us.
We stayed at this hotel a number of times. Noticed that the rooms have been upgraded. The station is across the road from the hotel. Bathrooms could be upgraded.
The hotel was very close to train station . All the staff were very plesent. The room and bathroom were of good size .The view of the mountains was lovely to wake up to. The bathroom was a bit dated but of very good size .
Nice friendly hotel right by Brig railway station and town centre. The restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent
Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable. Our room on the second floor had views of the mountains. The room was large and well kept. The bathroom had a bidet. The buffet breakfast was great. This hotel also has a lift. We enjoyed a nice evening meal in the restuarant. The hotel is opposite the main railway station but we didnt hear any noise and enjoyed a good nights sleep.
