location-parking-staff-room-bathroom-internet access---food- the rental clubs available for use on their golf course were sub-standard at best----with the availability of club sets either at the golf warehouse stores or on sites such as ebay these were not acceptable for use on a fine golf course as they have there.
I liked the Chateaux. Calm Area. Good Breakfast / Diner. Rooms were clean, with fine furniture. We had our rooms in the outbilding with an rustic ambiance. Service was good.
The overall surroundings and hotel its self was lovely, even fantastic. The restuarant was very much over priced for what you got and we eat all over France! We requested a twin room for two men on business and was allocated a double room which they would not change. Another room had to be taken which I thought was a disgusting attitude and will never stay here again despite its overall appeal.
Friendly staff and lovely setting. Accommodation very comfortable. No outside seating besides on food terrace. Golf players tend to be a bit intrusive at certain times.
Good pool for the kids, food good for the kids, pong pong, x box, all good for the kids. Didn't get to play golf cos of the kids! Coffee cups full of mold upon entering the room, how lovely. Trying to get coffee/tea/ cups for the room very tricky. Good price though, avoid food, unless they let you have the kids menu!
Went there to relax after daughters wedding. Enjoyed long walks near golfcourse and pool. on arrival receptionist said they had no booking in my name (despite my printed booking.com confirmation) and that they were full. Was eventually resolved and we spent two pleasant nights there.
Spacious rooms, very well serviced. Helpful staff. Hotel is situated out in the countryside but within easy reach of Autoroutes to avoid the centre of Paris. Good for overnight stops.
everything was ok no
Fast reservation process, realiable Mercure Hotel!
We loved being right in the heart of the city, able to walk easily to the castle. Not always enough meats and cheeses for breakfast.
no proper room service facility
Location was great
clean and comfortable rooms
It was a good clean hotel and had tea making facilities. Very thun walls
The standard of cooking is pretty poor and quirky -and consequently the cost of eating is overpriced for what you get. The internet pin code system did not work when I tried it although I have a Mac ! The local youths running and shouting through the hotel at 03:00 was not very impressive either !
Location in city centre near shopping mall with onsite parking and large rooms. Restuarant was closed on friday night, am not sure if this is normal.
Location Shower / bath was not comfortable
beautiful hotel, clean, parking available, very good to excellent price/quality ratio, comfortable rooms and facilities
Very colourful and nice breakfast included
The restaurant is good. The Airconditioning is noisy and can't be turned off.
Everything was 5 star comparing to the prices best value for money place. Literally 50 meters from rer station then a 30 min ride to Paris- Les Halles. I think I found the place for our long weekend in Paris!
Comfortable, cle, conveniently close to rer station.
Internet works well and is free, parking and central position The restaurant is closed on Sundays night and the they offer only salads.
Good location and pleasant room at a reasonable price. Good restaurant. Breakfast a bit expensive at 10 Euros. One light did not work in the bathroom.
staff are perfect, breakfeast is very good (big choice, fresh), view to chateau! nothing
the location is very close to the citry center the room was sometimes cold
Two friends and I were climbing in the local vacinity and used the hotel as a base for the weekend. Good location and facilities.
The staff were all very nice and accommodating. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was amazing, I would definitely recommend eating there. The hotel is in a perfect location just across the street from the chateau and very close to the main street (cafes, shopping, bars). This is a great hotel if you are looking for an affordable no frills French hotel experience. The details on booking.com stated there was wifi through out the hotel, this is not the case. there is only wifi in the entry way (very small space) and the restaurant. And it was so slow connecting I had to go to a cafe and used their wifi.
good value, excellent meal, friendly service, great location.
Comfortable chain hotel. Functional design, clean and quiet location. Very polite and efficient staff. Good parking but look out for high "lip" at entrance gate as we damaged bottom of car on this. Would stay here again.
A comfortable hotel with good facilities, ideally located for exploring Fontainebleau, the forest and many other interesting villages such as Barbizon. Friendly staff.
Convenient quiet location.Large secure parking.Surprisingly quiet room for such a large Hotel.Superb heated outdoor pool.Modern decor but certain areas could use an upgrade,eg Carpets.Food not Gourmet but quite presentable. Very busy with business conferences.Very long corridors and although trolleys are provided no apparent help to take cases to room which could be a disadvantage if disabled.
old TV with just a few channels and poor picture quality
Front Desk staff very friendly and helpful. Free 20 minute use of hotel computer and internet. Breakfast included in our special rate, and a very good breakfast. Easy to get to Fountainebleau or other parts via country roads or A6. Difficult to cool down the room even with the air conditioner on all the time.
Distance from Fontainebleau,10 minutes at most. The Air Conditioning did not work in our first room, although they changed our room without a problem. The restaurant was a bit expensive.
Pleasant hotel, friendly staff Swimming pool was very dirty
The hotel was very good, comfortable, clean etc. The reception staff were very nice. The Spa staff were not very welcoming. the staff at the spa
I booked for 3 guests, but we were given facilities for only 2 guests, inspite of our reminding them the 2nd day. The receiving counter staff was very courtous and helpful.
Good facilities, nice location. To expensive. Breakfast not included.
The small touches of luxury that made me feel special - such as a delivery of roses with a welcome note, chocolates on the pillow, weather forecasts for the next day and suggestions of things to do. Its also a very beautiful village and the hotel is right in the centre. The staff on reception were also really helpful on a number of different occasions going out of their way to help me out. The food in the restaurant was somewhat disappointing considering the expense - a bit over-complicated and fussy
The room had all the little extras and it was a charming place located in a charming town. The door to the room could have been a little more solid.
The staff were at pains to be of service. The hotel is very comfortable and the food excellent. Right in the middle of Barbizon, with Fontainebleau and Vaux le vicomte nearby, it was a perfect base for exploring these important monuments and the painters who lived in the village. The forest starts just a few yards from the hotel. As we were virtually the only guests, the buffet was not laid out for breakfast after the first day and we had a smaller selection of the delights that had been on offer the first day when there were more people in the hotel.
The hotel is a wonderful historic building (Robert Louis Stevenson wrote here) with updated rooms and super baths/ Free Internet, flat screen TV, two excellent restaurants. The set dinner in the Bistrot is a bargain. Beautiful pool and yard. Sometimes the wireless was down.
calm, great pool & garden. lovely village & surrounds
The room is equipped with jacuzzi, dvd player. Nice room but rather small, nice staffs. The food in the hotel restaurant is only fair, and the taste of overalls are too salty.
The very pleasant surroundings and comfort of the accommodation.
Convenience for Fontainebleau, reasonably easy to find and within walking distance of melun town centre Extremely disappointed that the restaurant was only open for one of the four nights of our stay and that it was not stated in advance on the website. The on site restaurant was the main reason for booking the hotel.
The helpfulness of the hotel staff Not enough pillows on the bed
The male receptionist was very helpful and served us drinks even though the bar was not open. Good location and very good room apart from a folding en suite door which was a little "Heath Robinson. Breakfast was minimal and cost 7 Euros.
The helpful and friendly reception staff. It delivered its promise. No restaurant available at weekend but reasonable pizzeria in walking distance.
Not the rural farmhouse I was expecting. Convenient access to Paris but nothing to do in and around melun, use it as a stop over. Ok alternative to ibis etc. Location is very suburban surroundings are mainly blocks of flats
I found this hotel basic but quite adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful.
A little bit out of town, very quiet, not bad to find.
The hotel owner is a very nice man, and the hotel offers good value for money. No specific dislikes
Quiet. Comfortable bed. Decent continental breakfast. Clean. Though the hotel's immediate neighborhood is not in itself an attraction, Fontainebleau, Barbizon, Moret-sur-Loing, and other attractive areas are within a few minutes drive. No restaurant open on weekend. One modest restaurant in easy walking distance.
Extremely helpful staff.Secure parking.Possible to walk to station for transfer to Paris central.
Quiet, restful atmosphere No in room facilities to make tea/coffee
It was not directly on a main road like so many of the motel like hotels and we asked for a quiet non smoking room when we booked and that was exactly what we got. The rooms are very similar to a travel lodge although ours did not have room for a sofa bed. There is a restaurant on site and two others within walking distance of a minute & a big out of town shopping place about 5 min drive away. No not really, we seemed to fair better than the other wedding guests who booked a more expensive hotel.
Restaurant was good value . food was beyond expectations Poor bar area to relax and have a social drink after meal
Quiet Easy access No drink/snack distributors
I booked 2 rooms for me and my young children and the hotel had given me two rooms next to each other with a door in between. I had to catch some musquitos in my room
Good location, friendly staff despite the language barrier, very good value for money. No air conditioning in the room, and it was very hot when we stayed, therefore we had to leave the window open all night and of course the noise from the traffic was tiresome.
Very help full personnel. Easy to access and for over-night stay on trip to south of France or futher.
Great location for our plans, with travel into central Paris by train and for La Ferte Alais Airshow.
Receptionist was accommodating and suggested adjoining rooms to us. We had to wait fifteen minutes on arrival to be attended. There was no queue, just nobody there!
Quiet and clean, friendly staff everything was as advertised
Family of 4 (with dog) looking for a stop over on the way to Normandy. Perfect place to stop for the night. Hotel has a restaurant and there are restaurants nearby. My French language skills are poor and the staff don't speak English, but that's part of the adventure. We paid EUR 90 for two rooms. Great value for a tired family needing a basic place to sleep.
Location perfect for visiting fontainebluau, secure on site car parking< on site restauraunt Comfortably the most sullen and rude staff I have encountered
Tea set was available, free WiFi, shower pressure was strong enough, bed was also large enough. Quiet location. Bathroom could have been cleaner but OK for this price
The rooms were clean and very comfortable. At the special price found on booking.com, this hotel was a perfect choice for a stop during our trip through the nearby beautiful villages and castles. The staff that welcomed us speaks little or no English, so if you have special requests (in our case it was two adjacent rooms with the third bed added) be sure to find a way to contact them to verify they understood them. However, the same staff was absolutely available to solve any problem on the spot.
The hotel was clean, comfortable, with a good breakfast and restaurant. Excellent value for money.
Pleasant motel type hotel with nice breakfast. The room could be cleaner. Street noise most of the night through room door.
Excellent check in and rooms. Good parking facilities. All staff were attentive and very pleasant, wishing to help. Food in the restaurant is very 'rich', but fairly priced. Would have liked towel hooks in bathrooms. Also, the shower could have been positioned better in the extremely large cubicle, instead of directly in front of opening door,
The rooms are spacious and offer very comfortable beds... You have a small kitchen with a fridge inside in a separate room, so you don't suffer from the fridge noise while sleeping... a nice leather sofa completes the deal, quite a good room! It is too bad many things are not functionning... the clim was not running, the two jaccuzi out of two were not working at the spa, so pretty much nothing was working there (only 60 degrees sauna, the pool is located on the back = no sun combined with cold water, design yet unconfortable seats...)
Excelent room ... huge space, nice design and ambience. Light everywhere and all that in an unbeatable price!
The room was great: large bed hudge tv, beautiful bath room. I will go again.
Excellent value for money. Actually worth its 4 stars. Not really a problem, but wifi in the room would be nice, instead of wired.
Restaurant was good and food well prepared in variety. The rooms were very spacious and well appointed, with free internet in the room.
This is a new modern beautiful designed hotel. I particularly liked how quiet it is, and the size of our family room was fantastic. we had to ask to have our room cleaned when we returned to it at 6pm as the only thing they had done was empty the bins. This was not acceptable. And we had to ask 3 times for the cotbed after our arrival, as our little one was very tired and ready for bed. There was no safety on the windows and it would be easy for either a child or an adult to jump.
Very large room with top furniture, very large and comfortable bed, large screen TV, kitchen corner and very modern bathroom. An excellent deal in term of price and quality for such a room. Very convenient location for business trip to Paris south, very close to the highway and a large shopping center. The maintenance of the hotel is quite poor, some durty carpets in the walkways to the rooms, some damaged equipments have not been repaired like in the bathroom, etc. A pity for such a nice and new building !
This is the best Hotel in France i have seen so far. quite new, stylish and with a very friendly stall. The rooms are big and very nice designed There is a gap between the bed and the wall and during the night the pillows fall down
We stayed at the Melun Ibis as an overnight stopover so used the hotel as a bedroom only. I liked the fact that when we arrived very late at night the reception was manned and the car park was secure my only critisism was that there was no air conditioning or fans in the room which made for an uncomfotable night in the 30 degree heat
Visited a nearby Chateau. The location
I like the place where it is every thing was good
the fact that it was in its own grounds and secure - nice to feel that we could leave our car and trailer without worrying too much about it
Using it as a base enabling us to visit many chateau's in the area. There was a mosquito in the room, which could well have been caused by us opening the window, so got bitten a bit.
the staff were so nice .. and the facilities were so good the location was far to Paris (more than 30 mins) but it s good to have quiet stay...
The system with the local car park worked well. The room was shabby and not like the photographs on the website. The second bed made up for our daughter used a double sheet turned over, so it was uncomfortable for her. The air conditioner was so noisy we had to switch it off in the night. the bathroom needed a good make over, and the toilet was not clean.
The location, the entrance hall and public rooms all were lovely. Cobwebs on ceiling above tv, stained carpeting around large area by the lift, chipped paint on the lift doors on our floor - shabby. Breakfast very expensive so did not have it there. Was told firmly that I was on a budget offer, which was embarassing. Bed very short for my tall husband.
the hotel building is lovely. The reception staff were very helpful. The location is excellent. we we unable to use the restaurant. The bar was not very user friendly. The whole hotel needs refurbishing.
Central. Breakfast ok. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room was cramped. Mark on sheets.
Ok for the price received by booking.com otherwhise too expensive for the comfort.Breakfast very poor....
A beautiful room. Dinner at the hotel restaurant gave me food poisoning.
Its location Lack of hotel car parking. The rooms at the top of the hotel are certainly not in the "luxury" class.
the room was in the back, not in front of the street, so it was very calm
Excellent staff to help guests. Please continue this.
Completely renewed, high standard. Sympathetic crew. Close to the RER station, 45 minutes from Paris Austerlitz. Calm, historical little town, some restaurants. Marvelous shower closet. Generous buffet breakfast. Easy parking.
The hotel was convenient to our journey to the South of France and proved to be the best IBIS hottel of the three that we used during our trip.
easy accessible shower curtains don't work, the bathroom was blank after taking a shower
The food was good, in particular the buffet for breakfast. The beds were of good quality. There was only one type of tea in the restaurant (mint). Quite some noise in the room from the freeway.
convenient location, good price but this hotel is a little 'tired'. The next three nights we stayed in an Etap at Nevers. A new hotel, excellent access, facilities and service for about the same price. Felt that the campanile was aimed at the travelling rep/engineer. We had 3 rooms in total. 1 room had no heating. 1 room had a difficult to lock door. Very noisy location. Only minor faults, might be more of a problem if staying longer.
