Pros: Enjoyed secluded atmosphere with floral and cactus gardens. Breakfeast in the gazebo looking out over the valley. A charming and helpful host who was prepared to go the extra mile to see we had a good stay. A Satnav is very usefull.

Pros: much sympathy and comfort
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host was very welcoming and helpful with finding facilities in the area. The location was idyllic and we could watch the sun rising over the mountains from our bedroom every morning. We had our breakfast outside in the sunshine each day. Thank you to our host and her friendly dogs for a memorable and stress-free stay.

Pros: The place is tranquil and appealing, where think of Tuscana. Corinna is very kind to me.The bedroom is cozy and the bed is very comfortable. Two Dants are well-educated and I really like them. Breakfast are wonderful ,especially handmade jam.
Cons: The location is hard to find.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Corinna was very kind to us! The place has a fantastic view of the mountains, especially when having breakfast, which was very good, by the way. The place is perfect to relax, it is quiet and very close to nature. The house is comfortable and the dogs very nice as well! I would have stayed longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Not only did we receive a warm welcome from Corinna, the lovely owner, but Lira and Tara (two adorable Great Danes) made our stay that extra special. The views from the house are magnificent and the panoramic windows from our room made us wish we had stayed their longer. The garden is truly inviting and we felt at one with nature in beautiful rural surroundings.
Cons: Nothing to not like.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet relaxing location in the country with awesome views and lovely gardens, great spot for exploring the area also 20 mins from coast, not to hard to find with brilliant directions sent by owner. Very comfy bed . Breakfast wonderful with fresh orange and homemade jams eaten on the terrace with glorious views. A gem of a find.
Cons: The only downside was a dog rescue kennel very close with barking On and off during the night, had window closed second night which was better .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful valley in the hills beyond Marbella, tranquil and reminiscent of Provence or Tuscany. The terraces are lush with flowers and trees, the view spectacular, the breakfast fit for a king, and the dogs friendly but not cloying. Large and very comfortable bedroom and bathroom, bed and linens immaculate. Corinna provides information regarding the area, restaurants etc, and is most helpful in all matters.

Cons: Bit of a walk to get to our rooms. Dining room on the roof was a lovely cool location thought the decor could have been more in keeping with the rooms which would be nice Staff friendly but some not well experienced

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Castillo de Monda is a perfect place for couples or just people, who just wan´t to "relax and chill" a little bit. Perfect atmosphere, super kind, polite and flexible staff - a place where you really feel that you are a guest that the staff is willing to take care! Top quality kitchen and marvelous breakfast. Oysters are the one dish that everybody should taste - awesome! This was my 4th visit in Monda and second time overnight there... but not the last time, that I can promise! So this is not goodbye - this is "untill we meet again" in Castillo de Monda! Muchos Grazias, Amigos!
Cons: It is difficult to trye to find something that was not nice, after an ecellent expierience in Castillo de Monda. So I don´t have nothing here - just thank´s and regards to the nice staff in Castillo de Monda!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic.
Cons: Everything was fine !!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent, friendly approachable staff, delicious food, high end menu. Lovely room, not cluttered. We did have to try and keep the air conditioning on as it was so hot. There was no hair conditioner or moisturiser in the room. Would it be possible for you to re design the water bottle situation to be more sustainable. Reduce/ban the use of plastic bottles etc?
Cons: See above

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed here in July 2019 half board and absolutely loved everything about Shanti Som. All the staff were so lovely and kind especially as I arrived without my suitcase! The atmosphere was very relaxing, I filled my days with a treatment (all of which were of top standard) then some reading by the pool. The food was so good that I bought their cookery book. I felt a million times better after my stay and will definitely be going back. I would like to try the yoga and hiking next time.
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable and clean. The surroundings are tranquil and relaxing. The food was nutritious and tasty.
Cons: The waitress at dinner was very rude; we asked for a Martini and lemonade each and she looked at us as if she hadn’t heard of such a drink and acted quite put out by our request. After our delicious meal and desserts: we didn’t fancy the suggested ‘coffee’ and ordered our favourite ‘before bed drink’ - Lamumba. The large frown was placed all over the waitresses face once again so we explained to her what the drink was (hot chocolate with cognac). Well... we were told that she’d never heard of such a drink and that it wasn’t ‘normal’. Her reaction was shocking and made us both feel very uncomfortable. For this reason we won’t be returning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff all went the extra mile and knew each guest by name. It was so small - only 15 rooms - that it felt more like a large private villa than a hotel. The food was excellent - healthy and freshly made
Cons: I liked it very much. The rooms were small to share with 2 but I had one to myself so it was great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is quite small/intimate, the decor is lovely and the staff are amazing - learning (and using) everyone's name - many different languages spoken. The rooms are spacious and all have terraces / balconies, which were well equipped with lounges. The food was delicious and the variety was good. The yoga instructors were great and the additional activities (hikes etc) were enjoyable.
Cons: I perhaps needed a little more pre-planning of activities to avoid clashes and ensure that all preferred spa activities could be scheduled.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was beautifully presented with an option for a cooked breakfast. The staff here are exceptionally friendly, courteous and helpful. Very tranquil and restful and indeed all of the guests were open and friendly.
Cons: Mix up over treatment dates but the issue was promptly resolved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Peace and quiet, lovely decor and surroundings, lovely staff
Cons: No coffee in the room, there was different kinds of tea but it would have been nice to have a coffee, even decaf!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! It’s an oasis of calm. Wonderful staff - who go beyond the call of duty. You arrive as a stranger and leave as a friend.
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was beautiful and very peaceful. It is geared up to people traveling alone. The food was excellent (I’m veggie), the staff were friendly and helpful and it was wonderful having the treatments and yoga all available during the day. It is a place you can definitely invest in your wellbeing, if you’re willing to pay for it. I did come away feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. When my sunglasses broke the staff lent me a pair which was really kind of them.
Cons: I booked half board and the meals were very good but there were lots of additional costs that seemed unnecessary. For instance you needed to pay for fillings in your omlette in the morning, and there was no filtered water offered with dinner (you had to buy a bottle or walk to reception and pour yourself a glass), these are little things but they do leave an impression. The main disappointment was the cost of the yoga classes. They were extortionate if you weren’t on the yoga package. You could buy a 10 class pass for a more reasonable price but I was only there for 3 nights. I did pay for a few classes and really enjoyed them so it’s a shame the cost was so high as I would have gone to more classes otherwise. When I was booking I did inquire about the cost of classes but thought the price quoted was for the whole time I was there, not a single class. It would be better if the hotel was explicit about the class costs on its website. If it was there when I booked I couldn’t see it. The yoga was one of my main reasons for booking (but the yoga package seemed too expensive so I thought I’d book as I went). If I’d understood the costs more I may have chosen differently. I also booked the single room option and had a room right outside the kitchen. It was pretty noisy and the garden on the terrace was unfinished. This was a little disappointing considering the price.
7.0 Good
Pros: The peace and tranquility
Cons: Far too expensive for what it offers. Food was very limited.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: To be honest EVERYTHING! Starting from the friendly and welcoming staff at reception, the restaurant, Yoga teachers, Spa a special thanks to all of them. Great and strong team - well done and thank you very much for all your warm welcome and kind help during my stay. Amazing food, very good and healthy choices at breakfast buffet with local specialities too which I really appreciated. Same applies for the lunch and dinner offered...excellent! Shanti Som is a real sanctuary, if you are looking to relax. I highly recommend it and will be back soon.
Cons: No comment. Everything met my expectations.
