The hotel restaurant in the Orangerie is top class! The Chateau itself a haven of relaxed atmosphere, fantastic rooms and all in a very beautiful setting. The breakfast was not of the same quality as the rest of the experience.
The village location; the architecture; the grounds; the peace and quiet Staff were a bit distant, we were reprimanded for taking an apple from a tree which seemed rather rude of them, and unnecessary given the price we paid for our room; hotel could have provided information about shops etc in the locality; breakfast was a bit limited
It's a real 16th century chateau, complete with a moat, in the heart of the Champagne producing area. The staff are very helpful and their recommendations for dinner in a small town nearby was one of the best meals I've ever had (at Le Cheneil Blanc)
The chateau was beautiful and the staff very helpful. Our room was a little small and furnished in a shabby chic style but this was reflected in the price we paid,if we had been staying longer than 1 night I would have paid for a bigger room.We ate in the Chateau restaurant which was expensive but well worth it.Unfortunately, we were only passing through as I would have liked to stay longer.Overall a splendid stay. No other restaurants in the village so for a longer stay you would need to travel some distance if you wished to eat out.Drinks were expensive.
sooo romantic , built 1700 excellent dining!!! no
Staying in a castle with moat and beautiful surroundings. Found the 35 euro meal just as good (or even better) than the 50 euro meal. However both were excellent!
we enjoyed the peace and quite in beautiful surroundings. The food in the restaurant was excellent. no safe or television in the room
The recently decorated (built?) rooms, the entourage of the castle, the view and the service.
This was our second stay and as before it was a pleasure. This time we where in a classic chateau room which was really lovely. Food and wine excellent, haute cuisine without being too fussy 20 euros for the dog was a bit excessive but that is the only negative comment we would make
My absolute favourite hotel. The restaurant is the most amazing experience! Leaving!!!
The food was very good indeed and the surroundings were sublime being set on the lake at Nantua. In that context it was good value. Room was a bit basic and the bathroom looked tired and ready for a facelift. Mattress had about lived its life and needed replacing.
Clean rooms Rather 3 than 4*. Breackfast not included. Restaurant to expensive.
The feeling of being surrounded by beautiful things.
The rooms and facilities were excellent Difficult to locate reasonable restaurants in the vicinity
Staff very friendly & helpful, room very functional, however no duvet. The hotels decor was a bit 80's.....
Everything that was provided.
The indoor pool was clean, warm and convenient. Nice to get into when we arrived Minibar fridge was unplugged and didn't work. Food was overpriced for its quality
It was verry quiet and was well situated in de champagne region the breakfast was a little poor
nice hotel, good location
Nice hotel and swimming pool. Evening meal good, but wine over priced Staff unwelcoming. Breakfast over priced. Drinks over priced
evening meal was very good parking facilities excellent bedrooms needed modernising and updating ...painting decorating etc.proprieters/reception was not there on arrival(not for several hours) even though we arrived at the suggested times i.e. hotel shut !!!
The room was comfortable and quiet, in the right location for me. The advertised pool and sauna cost extra and where not availble.
Nothing , and is not equipped for people with a handicap hotel does not have a lift bathrooms impossible for handicap.
A comfortable hotel in a convenient location within the champagne area with a good restaurant attached.
We stayed here to taste some champagne from caves nearby at walking distance, the location is in the middle of the village. We were too early for check in and there was no bell, but a lady showed up just before 2pm and she was friendly. Room was clean and TV had some English channels. The restaurant adjoining the hotel is overpriced, small portions and not very good (expensive wines). The hotel itself has a lot of plastic furniture and old fashioned colors. Pool was covered and seemed to be closed, so it didn't look inviting and we didn't want to ask if it could be opened just for us.
