10.0 Excellent
Pros: lovely breakfast. great room, fantastic people and location.
6.8 Good
Pros: It’s wonderful to stay at a genuine Champagne House with a fantastic story to share - as well as the champagne of course! Breakfast was very fresh with a nice selection.
Cons: Unfortunately they did not have time to clean our room on one day and the waste bins were not emptied once during our 4 day stay which wasn’t pleasant. Also the shower ran out of hot water during a second person showering which is not satisfactory. If they focussed a bit more effort on the rooms when they had guests it would be perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent B&B where the hosts also run a Champagne House. They couldn’t have been more accommodating and made our stay one we will remember for a very long time. From tasting their champagne to visiting the vineyard and pressoir our hosts went beyond our expectations. Great place made even better by being there during the grape harvest
Cons: The only thing we didn’t do was stay a little longer, there was nothing not to like here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Being able to have a Champagne tasting on site. Vertus was a 2 minute stroll where there was a bar and restaurant. Everyone was really friendly
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The B&B was very modern, clean and beautifully appointed. The Champagne tasting was well done and interesting. Breakfast was excellent and we were even served pancakes ! Highly recommended.

Pros: Very interesting champagne tasting with guidance from the owner himself. Highly recommended and superb champagne for a fair price. Most friendly owners, you feel directly at home.
Cons: That we already had to go home after 2 nights and couldn’t fit more champagne in our car :)

La Villa Eustache - Vertus - Outdoors view

9.7 Excellent (156 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, nice location in champagne, we brought our bikes and this was a super place for road biking, very nice and helpful hosts!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Decoration of the house and the rooms. Location of the property.
Cons: The owners needed to be present and awake to open the door in the evening. This meant that we had to agree on a certain final time of arrival when we went out in the evening. This has never caused a problem, but it would have been nicer if the entrance can be opened with a card or key independantly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast, lovely home cooked food and jams and freshly made smoothies. Ann-Sophie and Frederic were so kind and thoughtful and very welcoming.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A perfect gem close to the champagne.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the second time we have stayed with Fred and Anne-Sophie. What a lovely couple they are, we are made to feel welcome every time we have visited. The food is outstanding and I couldn’t recommend eating with them more highly! We will certainly be back to see them again in due course.
Cons: We couldn’t stay longer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous decor inside. Mega comfortable bed. Beautifully clean inside and out with the most magnificent view of the vines. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and beautifully laid out. We had an evening meal one night with food to die for and food allergies all catered. My sister and husband joined us for the meal, even though they were staying elsewhere but we asked Sophie in advance and they were exceptionally kind and generous to allow them to come. We had a most convivial evening with 4 other guest (delightful Italians), and I would highly recommend that anyone has at least one meal cooked by Fred - the best meal we had in France all summer and I know my food! We very much hope to return!!
Cons: Being British, we would have liked a kettle in our room with tea/coffee making facilities - but this is a minor point.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hosts who went out of their way to ensure we were well fed (we arrived late) and knew where to visit in the surrounding areas.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We came as guests and left as friends. Enjoy a very good breakfast and and make shure to take the advantage and stay in the house for Dinner. Champagner as a starter in a cosy athmosphere and then proceed into Frederic‘s kitchen. Don’t ask for the catch of the day.Just eat at the big table what he prepares. You will like it ! Enjoy your dinner with Fred and Anne Sophie like we did.

Pros: Classy little hotel, beautiful old building nicely renovated. Very nice room, quiet surroundings in the nicest part of the village. Excellent breakfast and very attentive and kind host. Fully recommended!

Le Clos des Cordeliers - Sézanne - Building
4
9.7 Excellent (122 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for the first time in June of last year on our way South, and absolutely loved it. We returned in July this year on our way back North, and found this gem to be even better. The garden is superb, with a wonderful variety of trees, and so peaceful. The accommodation is comfortable and well appointed, and was cool in the exceptionally hot weather. Daniel was as charming and welcoming as before. We were sorry to miss meeting Christina again, however! Once more, the breakfast was superb. This is a gem of a place, a real treasure.
Cons: A note for other travellers. We dined again in “ Mezzanine “ as it had been so good last year. The food itself was as good as we remembered, and we enjoyed it when we eventually received it. But the service was appalling, not only extremely slow but also so offhand as to be close to offensive! And it was not just us because we were foreign or British. The two young women on duty were overworked and plainly resented being there at all! We booked for and arrived at 8.00 p.m.. Our order and request for preliminary drinks was not taken until 8.40p.m.! So beware! This, of course, is nothing to do with Daniel or Le Clos des Cordeliers, which as we say above, is superb.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was good, good cleanliness, hosts were very friendly, breakfast was good.
Cons: Mattress was a bit hard, bed could be a bit bigger and the entry to the property was difficult
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliest hosts run this super clean apartment in a beautiful small town in Champagne. Beautiful manicured gardens, very clean, safe parking, short walk to town centre and winery (sparkling)

Pros: Excellent place, where you want to stay more! Separate house with lovely design and all necessary inside. Breakfast is at host’s house, which is very beautiful and with good ambiance. 8.0 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcome of the host Valerie and the husband and daughter. The place is very quiet.

Pros: Good value for money for a castle in the countryside with nice Bath, Bed and atmosphere. Lovely wooden Bridge crossing by car.
Cons: It is more a B&B than a Hotel so, obviously do not expect hotel services (No TV etc) not a problem for me but people should be aware before. Nearest town is a good 10 min drive also. Those negative points would be negative if the room was charged 80+€ a night. But for this price, it is really fair :)

Cons: We were unexpectedly upgraded on arrival and our room was fabulous. To choose a flaw seems unfair. The only thing that would have helped in the intense heat would have been a pool of some kind, just to cool off.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Isabella was extremely pleasant and made a very nice breakfast. Hotel was very clean, warm and welcoming.
Cons: Wish they had actual parking. Area is a little run down but being worked on.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super nice owner. Cozy and warm place.
Cons: The breakfast was a bit too simple.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Madame Lenoir-Collin (Isabelle), is lovely. Very friendly, warm and welcoming but not at all intrusive. She was able to advise where to go in the area and was flexible with regards checking in and out times. The house is immaculate and easy to find - on the main road through the village, opposite the church and Mairie - and the parking was just around the corner at the back. My room, which overlooked the garden, was spacious, comfortable and very clean, as were the ensuite bathroom and toilet. I was only there one night but would happily have stayed for longer, I do plan to stay there again if I'm back in the area.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old house with a pleasant garden, providing a home-feel stay. The rural stay is 20 km away from the bustle of Epernay. Towards Troyes (other direction) it is a 50 minute drive. Baye, the village is small though has a cute church from the 12th to 14th century, as well as an old chateau turned into religious retreat center. The village had interesting historical events in 1814 and 1914
Cons: You need to go there by car, and visiting Reims, Epernay, or Troyes require drives of minimum 20 minutes through lovely landscapes
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely location (quiet, peaceful, in a village with bakery and pub with food, nice walks) and the hostess was just so lovely and welcoming and made sure you felt at home. There were games in the sitting room for rainy days and constant cold water or tea/coffee making facilities also in the sitting room. Parking round the back v convenient. Hostess recommended somewhere to eat in another lovely village nearby, was excellent recommendation. Nice garden if you wanted to take tea there or sit out and read. Unsure if dogs are allowed but the countryside would be wonderful for dogs!
Cons: I was foot to the floor trying to get there in time for check-in after spending a day at Verdun. (Made it!) The associated champagne house wasn’t open (owing to early harvest I think) but I’d asked that at time of reservation. If you want somewhere within walking distance of champagne houses you’ll need to do your research first. The room I was in had only shower, no bath - no big deal but for expectation management .
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location close to an amazing bakery and champagne tasting. Very charming old home with a beautiful garden in the back. Good breakfast!
Cons: Was a little difficult to locate as the address link and google maps took us to another home initially.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good value. Comfortable bed. Renovated bathroom. Generous breakfast. Good WiFi. Very friendly staff.
Cons: Older property. Clean and simple, but could benefit from some upgrades. But zero complaints.
6.8 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, older but sufficient rooms, the owner is very nice, big parking place
Cons: The house is directly at the main street, so the rooms are a little bit noisy. Steep path to the parking place.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in a quiet part of the village, which is very French and has some very interesting buildings. We enjoyed our stay very much
Cons: They do not cater for vegetarians, I’m used to that in France. There was just an omelette on offer, which was over cooked and served with pasta, I thought an odd combination and I didn’t enjoy it at all, also it was more expensive than my husbands steak!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to check in earlier, and check out later, and they helped us with lunch after the official lunch hours. The room was rather basic but very comfy. Breakfast is fresh and very tasty!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very very friendly people who really pay attention to you as a guest. Unfortunately, the lock of the toilet was broken so i locked myself up but for the rest it was a very nice and pleasant stay.
Cons: Very friendly people.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really quirky set up ...lovely comfortable and spacious room. Owner really accommodating when I wanted to check in early. Comfortable bed and all very clean.
Cons: Would work better for a group of friend or two couples as the kitchen and bathroom are shared...they are also both In the same room I.e. The shower and the sink are also In The same room as the kitchen facilities. Also, not the easiest place to find and there is absolutely nothing in the village so take food and wine if you're wanting to eat after checking in. But a lovely place and a great stay. Great for a stopover.

Pros: Brilliant butter!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property was very clean and had good private parking, we didn’t unload the baggage as we left early next day. The staff was very helpful, they even prepared something to eat as we turned up late in the evening. Also very good breakfast
Cons: The shower it’s not great and if you fill the bath, the hot water is not sufficient for 4 members of the family but we managed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was superb and the staff delightful
Cons: We felt that when the restaurant was full for dinner, that the Maitre d' didn't quite have a handle on the service.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great food and service
Cons: Tends to be at the pricy end of the spectrum
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and food were of the usual high standard. We had returned to experience the good for again.
Cons: We felt this year that the rooms and public areas were beginning to look a little tired. However we enjoyed going back and the food was excellent. The menu was less extensive than last year but beautifully cooked and presented. Very enjoyable. We are happy to recommend it but feel it was rather over priced in comparison to similar accommodation we have stayed in through France in the last three weeks.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasantly surprised - this three star hotel was better than some 5 star French hotels I have stayed at. We needed a room for two adults and two children for one night to break a journey back from the alps. The room was spacious, modern, clean, well appointed with complimentary hot drinks and a mini bar. The bathroom was smart and a separate toilet is a god send for a family of 4! The beds were some of the comfiest I have slept in and the room was silent - so a great nights sleep. The staff were so helpful - we didn’t arrive until 22.30 as got held up on route, but we communicated with reception and there was someone there to let us in and show us to the secure parking. The breakfast was delicious - a great selection of breads and pastries, yogurt, fruit and eggs/ bacon. We stayed in the annex and had breakfast in the hotel across the road. Brilliant base for exploring champagne or just to break up a long journey home.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed. I stayed here in the summer and had an excellent view overlooking the garden. This time the view was restricted to a small internal courtyard.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy room
Cons: Swimming pool cold.
6.3 Good
Pros: It is clean but old fashioned. The restaurant is excellent and the food delicious.
Cons: The beds are very uncomfortable and the was a strange smell in the room.
6.3 Good
Pros: Spacious room, good food in the restaurant
Cons: Decor is very old-fashioned and some bits haven't been touched since about the 1970's............... Adequate but too expensive for what it is

3.5 Mediocre
Pros: Very little
Cons: Bed uncomfortable. Room furnishings spartan. Air con did not work. Minibar empty and disconnected. Restaurant not in the hotel but at next door property felt as if caught in a time warp with mediocre food. I could not recommend this hotel and would not stay again
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location for an overnight stay suited our journey plan. Excellent restaurant attached. Not cheap, but very good quality and good service. Good private car park. Breakfast adequate, but choice minimal. Soft-boiled egg available on request. Very good shower in room.
Cons: No lift. Minimal bedroom storage. Room safe bolted to floor, and effectively un-useable. No tea & coffee making equipment in room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good food
Cons: No lift. How did disabled people get to their rooms which were obviously adapted for them?
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly. Had problems with the shower and we got instant fix. Restaurant is next door but very good with friendly patron.
Cons: Hotel was almost empty so lacked character - mid march is very much out of season

7.5 Good
Pros: Great location, comfortable bed, good breakfast.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: kind staff
Cons: Worst of the worst hotel since i took a trip. I can not say anything for good.
7.0 Good
Pros: Owners/staff very friendly. No a la carte service but meal provided (no choice available) was very tasty if simply presented. Reasonable price for both dinner and wine. Breakfast also adequate considering the price paid.
Cons: Despite comments on Booking.com website there was no private parking on site as far as we were able to ascertain. Although we had requested a parking place on site the only parking offered was in the street on which hotel was located and this was subject to blue zone regulations (so blue card necessary). As such never quite sure if car was safely parked although owners said there would be no problems. Hotel old with dated furniture and decor but bathroom reasonably modern.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly
Cons: No soap. Plastic cups for tea/coffee
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Superb location.clean and comfortable rooms. Superb choice at breakfast. Excellent staff
6.8 Good
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: It was very hot and the neighbours were very noisy - I know this isn't the hotels fault, but I didn't sleep well. The bathroom was very old and not very clean.
6.8 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: Plastic cups for tea making. Just one tea bag in a double room. Breakfast was out a packet when lovely patisserie on the same street. Awful coffee at breakfast, tasted like it was reheated from yesterday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was extremely spacious and clean, with a large bathroom. A hairdryer and toiletries were provided. It was quiet, despite being centrally located. Parking was available on the street directly outside the establishment. Free WiFi was a bonus. Breakfast, while basic, was plentiful and enough to set travellers up for the day. The young man at reception was friendly and welcoming.
Cons: One of the electrical sockets in the bedroom didn’t work.
