Excellent food, interesting menu (Gratin of Donkey's Ears!!!) The rooms were fine but were beginning to look a bit tired and in need of sprucing up.
We were pleased with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff
Good kitchen. Helpful and nice staff who tried to understand
its a nice place ,beutful landscape, nice village near by, swimming pool, friendly staff, good food. The missing of english spoken staff.(it was better before)
Good location. Quiet. Friendly staff. Excellent value menu with very good food. Good basic facilities as one night stop-over en route. Good value overall.
THe room was terrible. It is old and smelled with cigarettes.I would only go back for the food in the restaurant. It was magnificent!
Beautiful location overlooking the old town of La Mure - friendly staff -comfortable room - small pool - excellent dinner menus from ? 17.50 - substantial buffet breakfast None
Used hotel on to separate nights as stop over on motor cycle trip to South of France. The hotel is to south of Grenoble in pleasant village (Claix). The room was very comfortable and although hotel is close to busy a480 the noise was minimal. The reception staff were welcoming and the male member (cannot give his name) who also was a very efficient waiter in the restaurant was very obliging speaking reasonable English. Had dinner which was well prepared and presented. The breakfast offered was also excellent. I would recommend this hotel.
The bed was too soft and did not suit my back. I had to firm it up by putting the Mattress on the floor
Quiet comfortable room; very pleasant, helpful staff. Had dinner in the Restaurant - poor quality for the price.
according the information the price of the room was included breakfast. When I pay the bill the breakfast was separetly charged!
On arrival we were allocated a smoking room, which needed changing. Then we were placed in a room, where next door had a dog. Who played witha toy most of the night. The hotel was too close to the motorway and this is not mentioned anywhere.
I thought this hotel was okay a bit like a British Travel Lodge but a bit more expensive, however it was close to the motorway and felt very safe for our motor bikes. only a few staff could speak English.
Nice pool. Very friendly staff. Good food and good value. Excellent overnight stop for travelling to SE France All good
Nothing realy... The room was too small for 3 people, and we should have been noted on this in advance.
Very comfortable bed, good shower.
The hotel is located in a lovely village/small town, with stunning mountain scenery, and is an excellent base for visiting the Vercors National Park. The hotel was very comfortable and the owner was very helpful and friendly.
Exellent hotel host! Never experienced such a real hospitality and interest in the guests. Also very good touristic advice - and thus it was a great region to visit! Small room, not well isotated (noise from neigbours)
Good breakfast. Quick walk to town centre. Bathroom was tiny with chemical toilet
Good value hotel with a good location, clean & comfortable. Staff were friendly. Continental breakfast good value at 6 euros.
From the moment we arrived, we were treated warmly by the couple running the Hotel, the room was basic, but comfortable, and the breakfast enjoyable, and plentiful.
Lovely balcony. Good recommendation for evening meal.
Convenient location if you have something to do in the south of Grenoble. Be prepared to wake up early, as there is a train track right behind the hotel.
Excellent value, lovely room and a balcony, would recommend highly. The staff go out of their way to help.
Basic Hotel, balcony for smoking if you wish, not the best area but people friendly. Free internet. What else do you want for the price!
It was good value for money and clean. The recommended restaurant was good. The night we stayed 3 cars in the hotel car park were vandalised, including our own. The passenger window was smashed - we gather thieves were looking for GPS systems. The gendarmerie informed us that this is quite a common occurence at this hotel. The hotel is situated between a busy road and a railway line in a semi-industrial area. Beyond lending us a dustpan and brush to clean up the glass, the hotel staff were not helpful.
The scenery was beautiful.NIce restruant was attached with the hotel with wonderful food.
Very helpful staff.
Very comfortable hotel with free parking. Location was good near centre of town.Mountain views at the back were nice to wake up to. Nothing
The room was very clean and the stuff were very nice. It's a nice small hotel, with small rooms, That have very small bath rooms, and small dinning room and the smallest Elavator I have ever seen. Nice though!!!
We were made very welcome by the staff.
Very nice hotel and service. It is clean .le dauphin is in the centre of villard de lans and easy to go
Very pleasant personnel, quiet, comfortable, french breakfast, sufficient parking, 100 m from centre, No balconies
Breakfast - although no museli on final morning. 24Hr reception Not sign posted from main road/ village road.
It was charming and full of character. The rooms were spacious, with nice high ceilings, the separate bathrooms had good showers and sturdy fittings. It is old and so is not luxurious. The views are lovely and it is near everything in the small town. The dining room is big and has dim overhead lighting, so is really lacking in atmosphere and cosiness. A few lamps and candles on the tables would make a huge difference. The breakfast rooms were better. Breakfast was good for continental. Nice fresh bread and croissants even on Sunday.
Room very clean, staff very friendly Restaurant closed, no seperate shower, bit expensive for a room 96 euro, especially when there was no chance of hot food in the evening. The reception was closed in the morning when I went to pay it opened at 7:45am I left the hotel at 7:15am for a business meeting.
The two swimming pools were very nice and breakfast was included in the price (off season offer). Very friendly atmosphere at breakfast. Staff friendliness was somewhat heterogeneous.
Position of hotel. Room and bathroom too small.
Location, large room Very comfortable. Bathroom huge, would be better described as a wet room. Bedrooms need more storage; drawers/hanging space
We got an excellent, brand new apartment to stay in-we were actually upgraded to a bigger place too. We were late arriving but the Concierge left a note with his number so we could call him to get into our apartment (at midnight even, so obliging). The scenery, especially when it snows a lot during the night, is spectacular. The ski slopes are just a short drive (I mean you could walk but we took the car with all our gear) and are good for all levels of skiers. There was internet accesss, hot breakfast available and saunas too! I would totally recommend this modern and comfortable hotel/apartment complex. We felt it was like our home away from home (even when we were checking out they let us take our time and didn't harrass us). In fact, over much of the holiday they just let you alone in your apartment to enjoy yourself unless you need something when they are happy to help. You will get the best sleep ever in this place, it is so peaceful and quiet at night (and the stars come out in force too!) Truly a great place to stay on your ski holiday:) The hill up the hotel/apartment is a bit steep, especially if it is snowy/icy but you just have to put on snow chains or really take it easy (it is not long). Also, it is mostly a French speaking area only (I have moderate French so that was o.k. and I love the charm of this) but just be prepared (i.e. with a dictionary perhaps!) One last thing stock up on supplies for the apartment (this includes toilet rolls!) - there is only one shop/tabac in town which is great for smaller shopping trips and essentials but when you first arrive it is probably better to buy before and bring more from the bigger supermarkerts closer to Grenoble.
Good space, super friendly and considerate staff. It was hard to find. And, since we were there in the off season, some of the information online wasn't current.
We enjoyed our stay at "le Chardon Bleu" very much. The owners are very hospitable (offering us a nightcap on our late arrival) so we prolonged our stay. We very much recommand the Chef of the hotel, who won several haute cuisine prizes (displayed on the restaurantwalls). From the restaurant we had a beautiful view on the valley of the Bonne. From our breakfast terrace we looked upon a beautifull medieval stagecoach auberge. We did fantastic walks ( f.i. along a historic water canal embedded in the mountainsides) and bicycling tours up the pastoral valleys of de Col d´Ornon and Col de la Morte. Ending our days at the nearby swimming lake. For us a great tranquil place for active leisure to return to. Thanks Lisette en Rokus, the Netherlands
The owner of the hotel made us a very nice lunch even though we arrived late in the afternoon. We stayed there for dinner too and the food was excellent. Don't miss out on their homemade pies!
This is my second trip to that location and, as I said during my first review of the hotel, I stayed once again at The Taiga. What else is there to say?
Just to drive there is an experience on its own. The host is the owner and very helpfull and everything was warm and we felt at home. If you like to be treated on a personnal level this is the answer. No
Everything. The staff are friendly and helpful, the cooking is excellent, the location is fantastic.
