- Position within an industrial estate was poor, instructions for finding hotel were very poor. It should have been made clearer that this is 'motel' style accommodation. There was no parking near the cabin.
clean and ideal as a stopover from Calais was pleased to find tea and coffee making facilities in the room would use this again for an overnight stay
The ease and convenience of using the hotel
Motel style chalet rooms excellent and free parking directly outside your door. Clean and tidy room with comfy bed. Much further outside of the city centre than suggested on the website. It is in fact 3.6 kilometers which is a bit too far to walk.
Cleanliness and breakfast N/A
Convenient as a stopover enroute to our final destination
It was simply perfect!!
good location. easy to find. simple check-in. comfortable and clean.
Food facility on site was good. Easy check -in just like a USA motel. Reception spoke good english to make up for my bad french Hotel - not in an ideal location (industrial style). GPS system seemed to locate hotel at a garden centre about a kilometre away!
Some (not all) of the staff were very rude to guests, to the extent that the whole dining room at breakfast was talking about it. We made a reservation in therestaurant in the evening upon arrival but they did not honour it. I was not the party booking the reservation so cannot comment on other aspects of this survey.
This was a phenomenal experience! The food was excellent, the staff were very professional and friendly, and the chateau and grounds were very peaceful and beautiful! We highly recommend Chateau D'ige!
The food and the care and attention from the staff.
We enjoyed the setting, the room and the food. The service too was very professional.
nice place, good servic, good restaurant
The service was perfect . Nothing .
The staff are excellent and the food is top class. Rooms need a lick of something and it's expensive.
A 13th century building, very well renovated, beautiful garden and small lake, breathtaking on a summer night. Highly recommended! The WiFi signal in the rooms is too weak, but ok in the lobby.
Beutifully restored and cared for chateau with impeccable gardens and well trained staff.
The hotel is a real chateau with a beautifull garden and luxury decorated rooms. The goormet dinner was good and the restaurant is especially beautifull. The staff is more then nice and we wish we could stay longer. Beakfest is expensive and was not included in the room rate.
Beautiful, get-away-from-it-all location in wine country. Excellent, courteous staff. Extremely rustic and charming fine dining restaurant, with very good food. While the room was beautifully furnished, the decor is starting to show its age. It was not as crisp and bright as it appeared in the pictures.
The ambiance, easy to find and to park. Friendly, welcoming owners and staff. Very attractive public rooms. Lack of ventilation in bathroom which was in the eaves of the chateau. Poor positioning of bathroom lighting for use of mirror. Room and Dinner expensive compared to other "Chateaux Hotels" we have stayed in.
Lovely house, furnishings and garden. Hosts charming. Evening meal, poor value for money - good home cooking but not gourmet as you'd expect for the price. Poor bathroom. Also house surrounded by roads and traffic noise.
A wonderful trip back into history
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff
The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The venue is set in a beautiful setting and the food was very good. some kind of animal was running up and down on the ceiling of our bedroom that scared us in the middle of the night and the owners just said that it happened but had no solution for it. We paid 190 euros a night and we would have expected a bit more than a shrug.
the chateau was quite beautiful...enjoyed staying there we were the only ones staying there on one of the nights of our visit...it was as if we weren't even there...shouldn't we still have been treated the same as if the chateau was full?! was rather unhappy with that,
I like staying in a chateau. It was warm, comfortable and the owners were friendly and helpful. The aperitif before dinner was enjoyable. It is so interesting meeting people from other countries. The gardens could have been prettier, but it was all lovely. No.
The atmosphere The room was the worst I have stayed in so far this trip.
Excellent ambience and peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. Easy access to local amenities, motorways and attractive villages for exploration. Our hosts were friendly, informative about the local area and places to visit and nothing is too much trouble. None.
Very convenient for the autoroute system on our journey from the Lot to Caen. Secure car parking and a good restaurant next door.
Very close to the A28, easy parking, comfortable room with a kettle and tea bag - luxury!
The hotel was easy to find, clean and welcoming and there is an excellent restaurant next door
Good position for travel. Facilities that one would expect. Noisy road. Could do with more pillows (we had 3 in the room)
It was a very convenient stop on our journey across France. The foyee was light and the welcome good Shower did not work properly so that the pressure flooded the floor. Bathroom hook too high. Only one large towel for 2 people. Room quite small. Carpet dirty. Bed hard. Publicity said eating places in vicinity. Without taking the car. there was (it was Monday) only a half finished supermarket cafe on a dark building site
location was the best factor in my choice in staying at this hotel. The rooms were fairly spacious and clean. no airconditioning, the lights in the room, carpets slightly worn
Easy to find - signposted from just off the motorway. Did not have coffee/tea making facilities in the room.
location for motorway goood no restaurant and only one good restaurant near hotel which although was excellent was expensive
I have stayed here in February 2008 and knew what to expect. The hotel is ok for a night
The hotel was easy to find and very convenient - not far from the Motorway. It was inconvenient that there was not a restaurant at the hotel.
Beautiful location Very uneven in everything: good food, poor service in the restaurant. Lodged in the middle of dirty construction site, work starting early. Nice new room, terrible bathroom with shower flooding the floor. No air conditioning in very hot weather and NO swimming pool available!
friendly staff and atmosphere, used as base for the Le Mans race it was far enough out to get peace and quiet and feel "in France" but close enough to run in and out three times during the race to eat, shower and rest. No - will be happy to stay again
We used it as a stop over from Calais to Bordeaux Hotel is lovely and the girl on reception was very helpful. Excellent . Belleme is a lovely village. We ate both Breakfast and dinner in the village as we like to mingle with the locals but the hotel food did look lovely.
Food and staff were excellent The standard of the room we were first allocated was extremly poor. We complaned and were given a room in a new block this room contained only a bed, nothing else!! Hardly what we expected for what we paid.
Location. Too many 'lads' in the bar on our visit. The hotel assumed we would want to sit with dozens of other people to watch the world cup with our evening meal, but we asked to sit elsewhere and they were helpful.
Nice surroundings, restaurant relaxing and food good. On arrivak no information given on leisure facilities or how to access them. Staff were very halpful when asked.
Great Management staff, arranged for my car to be fixed at the local garage. still some building work in progress, but there was no intrusive noise
Nice pool, beautiful surroundings. Close enough for visits to Le Mans if you have a car, No frills room but clean . Nice buffet lunch from hotel restaurant and goot bar service. No air conditioning , very warm at night!
Good location for us travelling to the Loire. Very good space and layout for a family in the duplex room, giving the adults a spacious upstairs room, ensuite, coffee making facilities and tv, with staircase down to three children and additional shower room downstairs too. Children liked the pool table in the main hotel. The sat nav took us in a back way through a sharp bend and under a tiny bridge that we only just got our people carrier through. There is however a much easier, open and wide main way in that you're meant to use and that you could get a double decker bus in if you wanted to!
A lovely location and comfortable hotel with good food. After having read the house notes I now realise that there are possibly prisons in France with less rules. You should note it is not easily possible to book in until 6pm. This might be somewhat awkward after a long journey. The staff seemed a little formal and remote. However the food was very good.
Location is quite good for passing to any direction (we were stopping enroute from Brittany to Paris) and nearby sightseeing. Charming old building and quite comfortable room. English spoken at reception. Food was enjoyable in the restaurant. Wi-Fi was used successfully. Free parking in front of the building (yet limited space). Breakfast a bit pricy and you must order it in details previous night. Actually quite many rules for guests to obey including check-out by 10 am which I take quite early for a hotel. Even staff is somewhat friendly I still got uneasy and ackward feeling staying in this hotel - I felt like being a house guest in overpriced B&B rather than a hotel.
Good food, quiet room.
We were using this hotel as a stop over on our way south through France. it was charming. The room was on the back & was quiet throughout the night. We ate in the hotel & would recommend the food. We had not read our booking properly & did not realise that the hotel was closed between 3.00 & 6.00. We arrived at 5.30 but madam did open for us & showed us to our room despite a few grumbles, which was understanable. We had not encountered this arrangement before.
we were very happy with the service and helpfulness of the hotelier and his staff he also speaks very good english
I chose Hotel Rounsin for its location - it's exactly halfway between England and the Dordogne which makes for a perfect 'stop-over' stay. Next time though, I'd be tempted to linger a little bit longer. The hotel is right in the centre of Bresnay; a lovely old town with a traditional French atmosphere. Also, the hotel is unusually friendly, with an owner who speaks excellent English. The food in the hotel was nice as well: a three-course meal is very good value - I'd recommend it!
Friendly and helpful owner who spoke English well and was welcoming to a party of 8, including children. Good value for money. Location very pretty and quiet with historic castle ruins and beautiful views of river Sarthe. (a village about 90 miles from Caen ferry port) Good evening meal and excellent breakfast of the best breads and pain au choculat we had in the whole holiday. Would certainly reccomend and return No! The owner has been there for three years and is restoring. Facilities may not be to everyones tastes but we loved it and it's "Frenchness".
Exceptionally warm welcome and excellent service. None
Friendly staff with a good attitude Quite rustic and a little tired but charming with it - don't over expect and you will enjoy it.
After an "oh no" reaction on first seeing the building and a notice on the front door on a very hot afternoon saying back in 30 minutes once inside the room was excellent with all facilities including paper tissues! The Dinner was delicious served in a very pretty dining room but we passed on the petit dejouner as it was not buffet. Very quiet room at the back. Slightly squeeky floors above.
staff very nice and helpfull
very clean hotel in a pretty village location
